Draco POV

Without seeing Lilith for over many months, the days have felt longer and more lonely. Walking up to the front of the manor I had a bad feeling everything has changed while I had been at school. Finishing 5th year was a relief but there was one thing that is still playing on my mind. Becoming a death eater. I never want to become like my father.

As I opened up the wide front doors the warm air instantly hit me, I expected someone to be waiting for my arrival at the door but there was no one, not even a house elf. I dropped my bag down on the floor causing a load noise vibrating around the room, but still no one came.

I thought to myself that everyone was not home but then there was sudden footsteps walking around the corner. I felt an small uncontrollable small appear on my face once I was Lilith standing there, she looked different. Her eyes didn't have the glow it used to, she looked exhorted, there were big, dark bags under her eyes. She gave me a forced smile as she noticed me standing in the doorway, she didn't hesitate before running into my arms.

Her long arms wrapped around me causing me to stumble back a few steps due to the force of the hug.

She slowly pulled back from the hug and looked deep into my eyes. "I missed you." She claimed while tugging her left sleeve down, covering her forearm

"I missed you, too." I paused before continuing. "What were you sorry about?"

She didn't say anything but instead to a few steps away, looking down at the floor.

There was heavy footsteps coming from where Lilith had entered, my so called father walks in with his head held high, stood next to Klaus Mikealson walking towards us with Caroline Forbes shortly following next to my mother.

"Ah, how nice of you to accompany us." Klaus says in a joking tone.

"The dark lord will be arriving here tomorrow he would like to see you." My father looked at me dead in the eye before a side grin spread across his face.

I furrowed my eyesbrows before looking at Lilith, her head was looking down at the floor avoiding everyones eye contact, she was anxiously biting down on her bottom lip while brushing her hand through one strand of her hair.

I looked back at my father slowly, still furrowing my eyebrows. "What for?" I asked nervously. I never meet the dark lord before and I didn't want to.

"You will find out." My father let out a big huff while his grin slowly disappeared off his face.

There was a moment or two filled with awkward silents before my mother spoke in a gentle way. "You and Lilith can both go up stairs, the house elf will sort out your bags."

I didn't hesitate before making my way to the stairs but I noticed Lilith did hesitate, she uneasily walked behind me as I reached my bedroom entrance.

"Um... We need to talk." Lilith said shyly.

My heart sank listening to the ton of her voice, she didn't speak in her normal preppy self she spoke dully as though she was fighting back her tears. I nodded my head as I opened the door to my bedroom, she doesn't walk in, instead she waits outside staring at the floor, neither was she talking the same way she wasn't acting it either.

"Are you just going to stay in the corridor?" I asked jokingly, trying to lift the spirits.

She walking in staidly, she didn't hesitate to shut the door behind her quickly, as soon as she heard the door close firmly she dropped to the floor with her head in her hands, letting out soft weeps. Confusion struck me as I walked over to her, she tried to stop crying as I got closed but more tears feel onto her cheeks.

"Im sorry." She said weakly while whipping the tears under her eyes.

"For what?" I paused waiting for her reply but there was an awkward silence. "You can tell me."

She didn't reply, she took a deep breath before lifting her sleeve up on her left arm. I stared in confutation, knelt down next to her. Her bottom lip quivered as she took another deep breath before revealing the dark mark.

The Dark Mark appears as a glittering green skull with a snake protruding from its mouth. I stare at it in shock, there was so many thoughts going through my mind, there was so many things I wanted to question, but my mouth went dry and struggled to speak.

"My father... He didn't want this either... He didn't want me involved, but you-know-who thought it would be a good idea to have a hybrid as part of his army." She stopped speaking to take deep breaths, I opened my mouth to speak but she continued before I could start. "I don't want this, Draco." She scrunched her nose up to stop her from letting out another tear. "My mother and father don't want this either. There is nothing I can do."

I didn't say anything, I knew it wasn't the right time. I locked my arms around her, pulling her closer into a comforting hug, as we stayed on the floor hugging, Lilith continued to let out a few more tears into my shoulder. As much as it was hurting her, it was hurting me too. Knowing this was going to happen to me very soon but I was more scared of her being hurt then I myself.

Neither one of us spoke as we held each other tightly, curled up on the floor. The only noise you could hear was the betting heart that lay in my chest. Both of us knew the dark lord wanted to see me tomorrow... It was the day I had dread for many years, the day that kept me wide awake at night. The day I become a death eater.

When I was younger, I wanted to make my family proud. Do what was expected of myself, but that was before I understood what the Death Eaters truly did, and I don't want to be apart of that.

Lilith POV

I woke up early this morning to the birds tweeting outside the window, it reminded me of the first morning I went to Hogwarts. I looked down to my right to see Draco cradled up on the floor, fast asleep. Everything felt fine until I remembered where I was, I looked down at the left forearming hoping the dark mark was gone and it was all just a bad dream. I had been doing that I lot recently, hoping that when something bad happened its all just a dream.

"Morning." A raspy voice came from beside me. "What time is it?" Draco asks while stretching his arms over his head. "Oh."

I'm staring at him in worry, thinking the exact same thing he is.

"Lilith..." he paused. "Does it hurt? Y'know getting the mark."

I didn't want to lie to him but I also didn't want to worry him. "Its hard to explain, when you-know-who first casts the spell on your forearm there is burning, nothing drastic-" I stop speaking as Draco places his lips upon mine, once again. It wasn't a long kiss, but it wasn't short, we pulled away into the silence as I continued speaking. "I'm sure you'll be braver then I was."

Draco didn't laugh but he faked a small smile as he walked over to the mirror. "I don't want this to happen." He paused before continuing. "Im scared."

I didn't reply at first, I walked over to the mirror standing side by side next to him, we both stare at the mirror as we admire one another, his shiny grey eyes didn't leave eye contact as I do the same.

"We will be be okay." I say quickly while turning my head to look at him and not his reflection. "I promise."

He lifted one eyebrow and stared down at me. "Don't make promises you can keep."

"But I can keep it." I didn't hesitate to say. "We don't know what the future holds for us, for anyone really, but I know we will be okay."

"I believe you." Draco gave me a smile, but not a forced smile like we have been giving each other the past few hours but I real smile.

"I believe me too." I reply while let out a small laugh.

Draco didn't reply but he gave me another real smile which caused me smile back to him. For a split second It felt like there wasn't a problem in the world that could ruin his beaming, bright smile, but that wasn't true. There was many things that were about to change just after today.

There was a small, quite knock at Draco bedroom door, which made a faint echo down the corridor. Draco didn't hesitate to open the door, in fact he looked eager to know who the other person wanted standing at the other side of the door.

Narcissa Malfoy stood there awkwardly as Draco opened the door, she looked at him with worry and then looked over to me. "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt." She said in a panic while brushing her hair behind her shoulder.

"No, no it's not- no." Draco replied, his face was turning a red tomato colour.

"Alright then." She slipped out a sigh of relief before continuing. "The dark lord is here to see you now."

"Me?" Draco questioned while pointing to his chest.

"Yes, please don't take long, he doesn't like to late." She places a soft, insuring kiss on his forehead as she walks away nodding her head to me as she leaves.

Draco slams the door in anger as he turned around to face me. "I'm not ready for this... Lilith, i don't want to go down stairs."

He's speaking so quickly I could make out his words, I walk slowly over to him and brush my hand over his arm. "You'll be okay, I am here."

He doesn't say anything but removes his arm away from me and paces back and fore into his room.

"I will walk you down." I suggest while getting closer to the door.

"No!" He spits while speed walking over to the door. "You will stay here so you won't get hurt."

"No."

"Lilith I'm being serious." He holds his hand against the door to stop me from opening it.

"Well it's not like he can kill me." I let out a small giggle as I turn the doorknob to the left.

"That joke wasn't funny."

"I thought it was." I laughed again while opening up the door. In all fairness he did have a tight grip on keeping the door shut but the good side of being a vampire, you're stronger.

"Lilith-"

I interrupted him before he could continue speaking. "Shh, I'm walking you down. I will wait by the door, he won't even see me."

I didn't want him to get the dark mark but what could I do? There was no way of changing the dark lords mind after he decides what he wants.

Draco nods slowly as he gives up on the disagreement. I was starting to feel a knot tie up in my stomach as we got closer to where the dark lord was waiting.

Draco reached down to grab my hand and squeezed it lightly. "I will be okay." He claims.

Draco was lying it was obvious. His hands were shaking and he was walking slower then normal, his heart rate had spread up and he was nervously biting his bottom lip.

I nod as I see him enter the room slowly, letting go of my grip. When I got my dark mark I had never been in such excavating pain, it didn't hurt so much while the dark lord was giving the tattoo but it was the after effect, the burning on your arm. I never had been more afraid in my life and that's saying something because I grow up with Klaus Mikaelson as my father.

~*~

I waited nervously sitting on a dark green, padded seat, 20 meters away from the door. There was no screaming coming from the room, like what happened with me. I tried to stay silent and not show how weak I was in front of you-know-who. I fiddled with the bracelet Draco gave me for my birthday and tried to remind myself that everything was going to be okay, but what happens if something went wrong? I can't think like that.

I continued to fiddle with my bracelet until I heard heavy footsteps coming towards me.

"Ah, Lilith." My fathers voice sounded joyful. "What you doing here?"

"I'm waiting for Drac-" I stopped myself half way before continuing. "I'm just waiting here." I corrected myself.

"Mmh." He paused and took a deep breath. "I don't want you spending time with the Malfoy boy." My father blurted out while crossing his arms firmly.

"Wha- why?"

My father shrugged his shoulders and pulled a clueless face.

"He's my..." I thought to myself quickly if I should tell him that me and Draco are a thing. "Best friend."

"Right then-" he stopped speaking as loud screams came from the other side of the door.

I stood up quickly as my eyes widened. I was about to hurry over to the door but I felt a tight grip clutching around my forearm, I let out a small weep because he was squeezing down on my dark mark, which still hurt occasionally.

"Where do you think you're going?" My father spoke while bring me away from the door.

"No where, upstairs" I lied.

He let out a huff as my mother's voice echoed from behind him. "Let her go, Klaus. She isn't up to anything that's not how Lilith behaves."

My father let go of my wrist instantly, screams were still going on in the background as I tried my best to block them out.

"I'm trying to protect her." My father said while crossing his arms, once again.

"We all are." My mother spat.

I kept backing away until I felt the door hit my back, I let out a silent gasp hoping neither of my parents would stop and look at me. There had been no screaming in the last several minutes and I didn't know wether that was a good or bad thing.

The door behind me slowly unlocks but no one opens the door, I stare blankly hoping to see Draco standing there smiling at me, but I knew that wouldn't happen.

The door finally opens, Draco was standing there but there was no smile on his face. Instead, his eyes were red and his cheeks stained of tears he looks up at me while clutching his left forearm.

While he steps closer I wrap my arms around him pulling him in for a warm embrace. I couldn't care if my father was standing behind me watching us, I only cared about Draco.

"I'm okay." Draco whispered in my ear.

I didn't reply because I knew he wasn't telling the truth, I knew he wasn't okay. I slowly pull away and hold him up because it looks like he was about to lose him balance.

Narcissa Malfoy came running around the corner in heals, I was surprised she didn't trip. She grabbed Draco and pulled him in for a hug, she didn't say anything and neither did Lucius Malfoy who was standing next to her. Lucius had a disappointing look on his face as he checked his watch, he didn't seem to care about his son, nor his wife. He only really cared about was himself and completing the dark lords tasks. Draco kept his arms down by the side of him as Narcissa hugged him tightly.

"Well then, go upstairs." Said Lucius through his teeth.

Draco and I made our to the staircase but stopped as Lucius made a strange noise insinuating we stop.

Lucius flicked back his knotted blonde hair while a grin formed across his face. "The young hybrid can stay down here."

I looked over to my mother, her head was held low as she looked at her feet. I knew this isn't what she wanted.

"No she is-" Draco argued back.

"Hush!" Lucius snapped while walking closer to where Draco stood. "I said, she is staying down here. Go upstairs."

Draco hesitated before looking at me with worried eyes and walked towards the staircase still gripping his left forearm.

It didn't take long for Draco to disappear up the stairs before my mother started to speak, she pulled me away from everyone else in the room and walked into the kitchen.

"T-the dark lord wants you to do a task for him." My mother tells me while leaning against the worktops.

"Just me?"

"No. Draco will help you."

I deep worry sank to the bottom of my chest, there was many things to be worried about but this worry wasn't for me. It was for Draco.

"What is it? I can do it on my own. He doesn't need to be involved."

"Lilith... you can't do this on your own." She sat down on the island chair waiting for my response.

"I- I can." I pause and take a deep breath. "He won't get hurt that way."

My mother let out a small laugh, which baffled me as this wasn't a laughing situation.

"You have always been like this." My mother points out while tapping the seat next to her for me to sit on.

"Like what?"

"You would always put others first." A rare smile spread across her face. "It reminds me of my best friend." She claimed as her smile faded away.

"Who?" I ask nervously.

"Bonnie Bennett." She paused and took a deep breath again. "She would do anything for us, risk everything for us, sacrifice herself for us."

"Us? Who's us?" My mother never told me things from her past as she didn't keep in contact with most of her old friends due to 'complications.'

"A friend group." Her smile reappears as she skimmed through memories of the past.

I admire my mother's happiness, it was a rare change from seeing her with a frown on her face all the time.

"We will be okay." I reassured my mother while placing my hand on top of hers.

She doesn't say anything she just stares at me and letting out a small giggle.

I hop off the chair and make my way over to the kitchen door. "Right, I'm going to go and see Draco." I tell her while walking out the door giving her no time to respond.

I didn't get a chance to speak to Draco earlier and he didn't look okay, he looked worse then me once I got my mark done, and I needed to help him get through this.
