10. Bringing Up The Dead

Melissa

I walked back in the house after a couple of drinks. I walked into the house and called out. "Nik, you really should have came. I had a blast." I stopped talking when I went into the room with the coffins and saw broken vases, tore walls. What the hell happened here? I decided to leave it alone and deal with it in the morning. I mean, what's the craziest thing that could have happened?

I got up this morning looking for Nik. I walked around the house, and looked all over. I looked in the library, upstairs, his art room. I eventually found him in the room with the coffins. Why didn't I think of this earlier?

When I walked into the room and saw Elijah standing there, talking with Klaus. Now, how did this happen? "I see no one decided to tell me that Elijah was back." I said to them.

They both looked up at me, Elijah looked at me, surprised. Probably because last time he saw me; I was starting to running from Klaus. "Good to see you, Ms. Halliwell." He said being his usually self.

I sighed and said back. "Elijah, you've known me for centuries since I was 12. You can call me Melissa, I thought I finally got you out of that."

"Melissa, how have you been?" I laughed at how awkwardly he said my name.

"Good, Elijah." I smiled.

Klaus interrupted the moment and said "Not to interrupt the chat but we have a dinner to prepare for...Elijah." He looked over at him.

"Why did no one tell me?" I questioned.

"Because I knew you wouldn't be interested considering our guests." He said and Elijah looked confused but left it alone.

"Why? Who's coming?"

"The Salvatores, trying to inact a peace treaty."

"Yeah, you're right. I don't want to come and see this blow up in everyone's faces." I laughed. Did he really think this is going to go smoothly?

"There will be no problems as long as everyone cooperates." He is really being that delusion right now.

I chuckled "Damon... cooperate. Those are two words you'll never see together and you have off the rails Stefan...Yeah, good luck."

"I mean this wouldn't be happening if they gave me that coffin back." He said obviously frustrated by that fact which gave me a great idea.

"Speaking of that coffin, I have an idea."

He looked curious at this offer and I continued "If I find that coffin, you have to undagger 'All' of your siblings." Putting extra emphasis on 'all'.

"Done deal, Rebekah and Kol will be at your demand." He said completely ignoring the all part.

I stood there and said "All of them, even Finn."

"Actually, I think it's best if he stays in there...locked in a box." He started to walk over to Elijah.

I walked towards him and stopped about halfway there. "I said all of your siblings, Klaus. All of them. I spent 6 centuries running from you for undaggering him. He is coming back; you owe me that much, Nik."

He stood there for a minute before he gave in "Fine, but the minute he starts to be a bore, he's going to have another visit with the dagger."

I hissed at him, I went upstairs to my room and looked for my grimore. I flipped through the pages of them, trying to look for a certain spell. I spent a while looking for this grimore, I really have too many. I went downstairs and looked in the library hoping I left it down there which I did.

I grabbed my jacket and headed out the door. Klaus called out "Where are you heading to?"

"Out to find this coffin that you haven't found. Call if you have any trouble." I started to walk out the door but when Klaus started talking.

"Why would we have trouble?" He questioned.

"Because if you weren't able to find couple coffins without my help. How are you gonna deal with the Salvatores?"

"You do realize who I am. Klaus Mikaelson, The Original Hybrid remember." He stated.

"I know who you are. So, please show them who they're dealing without the whole dinner going south." I smirked at them while I waved goodbye. I left the house and walked out to this open field near a forest. It was relaxing and nice, it didn't seem like anyone would be over here and bother me.

I sat down with my grimore and flipped through the pages, looking for the right spell. I finally found the spell. I started the spell "Anta Cotis Syrum, Anta Cotis Syrum." I repeated that serval times: focusing on the coffin but nothing.

I couldn't get a trace of the object with my object locator spell which is almost flawless. I sat there thinking of what I could do and I got another thought. I immediately started another spell: "Inveniere potencia reparon malifica, Inveniere potencis reparon malifica." I tried tracing the coffin's location. It would be a lot easier if I knew who was in the coffin but of course, Nik wouldn't tell me.

I still couldn't find that coffin and exasperation was killing me. I stood up and walked around with my hands on my head. "Why can't I get this right? I'm a Bennett witch god dammit!" I picked up my grimore and flinged it at the ground. It was left open on a certain page. I looked down at it and got an idea.

The place where the coffin was hinded with a cloaking or boundary spell: I just have to break it. I quickly sat down. I was tenacious in finding this coffin; I'll finally be able to see them if I find this, so I'm doing whatever it takes. "Phamatos Oculas" I started the disillusionment spell.

I realized that the location wasn't cloaked but someone put a boundary around the location; probably Bonnie. I was about to start the boundary counter spell, my phone starts ringing. I took out my phone to see who it was. It was Elijah, I ignored the call. Not because I didn't want to talk to him but I am in a breakthrough with this coffin. Nothing will distract me.

I started the spell when I got a call from Nik. Can two Original Vampires not handle themselves without my help? I ignored the call and got back to work. "Merabas Hic Litbatal" I stopped the spell because I was getting a bunch of texts from Klaus. I started the spell again "Merabas Hic Litbatal, Confremun Signas Omus" I got even more texts, so I put my phone on silent. Can they not handle their own damn problems?

I started the spell again, trying my best to not get distracted. "Merabas Hic Litbatal, Confremun Signas Omus, Quisa Tentum Exalis." My phone kept on vibrating but I continued the spell. "Merbas Hic Litbatal, Confremun Signas Omus" I stopped the spell. I can not focus like this. I picked up my phone and looked at the texts. Looks I'm needed back at the Mikaelson's.

I got my grimores together and walked back to the house. I was curious as to what was soo important that they had to interrupt me for. I got back to the house and opened the door. "Nik...Nik!" I called out and no one answered.

I put my books down on the floor and walked further into the house. "Nik, this better be good. I was in the middle of doing a very important spell." I heard something in the dining room, so I walked over there. When I got in there, I couldn't believe my eyes.

I saw Elijah, Finn, Rebekah and Kol standing in front of Klaus, looking like they were about to leave. I had the biggest grin that you could imagine on my face.

"Kol" I said with shock and an extreme amount of happiness. I ran over to him, he picked me up and spinned me around as we hugged. I wrapped my arms around his neck so tightly, I thought I might have chocked him. I let go of him and went over to Rebekah and hugged her. I walked over to Finn and hugged him as well. "It's been too long, Finn. Its been too long without all of you." I said with a big smile on face as I walked back over to Kol.

"So, can I please ask...What" Before I could finish my sentence, someone walked through the door, Esther walked through the door. We all had surprised and shocked looks on our faces. Klaus's face was the most shocked of us all. Afraid was the one emotion he had on his face. I thought she was dead. How did she come back? Who brought her back? There were various thoughts running through my head.

"Mother?" Rebekah said but was completely ignored. Esther had her eyes on Klaus, only Klaus. She walked towards him but he looked away, trying to avoid her eyes.

"Look at me! Do you know why I'm here?" She said to him.

He had tears fallimg from his eyes "You're here to kill me."

"Niklaus, you are my son and I am here to forgive you. I want us to be a family again." Now this caught everyone off guard. We all at one another with a confused look. If someone kills you and you come back to life: Wouldn't you want revenge? I guess not in her case.

She walked up to me which made me nervous. "And you must be Melissa. I have heard a lot about you: The Vampire Witch."

I was confused as to why she brought that up but I guess she was trying to acquaint herself with me. "My children off to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a magical day." She said to them. She walked up the stairs with Finn crawling at her footsteps.

Klaus and Elijah walked upstairs too and went to their rooms. Meanwhile, it was just me, Rebekah and Kol. "Well, are you gonna show us to our rooms, Melissa?" Rebekah asked.

We walked upstairs. "Rebekah, this is your room. Kol, this is yours and mine is right in the middle of my two favorite people." I said while putting arms around both their necks.

"So, I'm gonna hear everything that goes on with you two. Why would you sentence me to such torture?" She joked.

"Shut up." Playfully hitting her arm. We all laughed.

"I going to bed. Wouldn't want to upset my mother."

"You wouldn't wanna upset Mama Original." I chuckled.

"You and your nicknames. When will it ever end."

"Don't kid yourself, you know you love them." She walked into her room.

The minute she went into her room, Kol kissed me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I put mine around his neck. He took a break from the kiss and said. "How have I missed you."

"Don't act like I didn't miss you just as much." I smiled. I really did miss theses moments.

"Actually there's something I've meaning to talk to you about."

"Continue?"

"I think we should tell Nik about us." He said which caught me off guard. I took a step back.

"Are you serious? Aren't you worried about what he might do?"

"Why are you against this? You were never afraid of my brother before."

"I'm not afraid of him. I just don't want you getting hurt."

"What is he gonna do?"

"I don't know but considering what happened to Rebekah's lovers, I don't think it's a great idea." Why did he have to bring this? I didn't want our first conversation in 3 centuries to turn into an argument.

"I don't care, I don't want to have hide my feelings for you every time my brother comes around. Klaus finally became okay with who Rebekah was with back in New Orleans. If Klaus could accept Rebekah and Marcel being together, Why not us? Can you at least think about it."

I stood there for a minute and thought about it. "Okay, I'll think about but I'm not making any promises."

"I wouldn't expect anything less from you." We grinned at one another before going into our rooms. I laid down on bed with a smile on my face. This was the best day, I wonder what tomorrow will entell.
