Today, I decided to visit an old friend of mine. I haven't seen her in a two decades. She asked me to meet in Chicago and that is exactly where I am. Her name is Katerina Petrova or now known as Katherine Pierce. I walk into a mostly vacant bar and spot her sitting at a table near a window. She stood up as she saw me walking in and gives me a hug "How have you been? It's been a while since I have last seen you."

"I know, it has been a while." I said as we sat down a the table. As we talk, I thought to myself. What has Katherine the survivor been up to. This meeting was rather random in timing. "So tell me. What has the Katherine Pierce been up to in the last two decades?"

She took a sip of her drink and looked out of the window. She held an uneasy expression on her face which is strange considering, she rarely has a look of timidness unless something

"What's going on?" I demanded.

"What do you mean?" Katherine questioned.

I took a sip of my drink and set it down before saying "Katherine, I can read you like a book at this point. There is no point in trying to hide anything from me. Now, what has happened?"

"You might need a drink for this." She pushed my drink into my hand. She was obliviously trying to stall the conversation.

"Are you going to tell me why you are so nervous or are you going to keep stalling?" I was starting to get annoyed at this point. Why won't she just spit out what she has to say?

"Aren't we rude today."

"Well, I tend to get rude when people are trying to delay conversations of importance. So, you could tell me the actual reason why we are meeting today or I can leave." My level of patience was starting to wear thin with her.

"Okay, I will tell you but it may be a lot to take in."

"I think I can handle it."

"Earlier this year, I went back to Mystic Falls hoping to get my freedom back by giving Klaus everything he needs to break the curse. "

"And?" I interrupted.

"I'm not finished. Elijah came into to town to lure Klaus in to kill him. Klaus came, he captured me and tortured me. He broke the curse, became a hybrid and bit me and healed me to make a point." She said finishing up a quick summary of what would have been a long winded story.

I just sat there surprised, I can't believe it. For one: She saw Elijah and Klaus, who I haven't seen in forever but Klaus would have killed me if he saw me. Second: I'm surprised she is alive, I thought Klaus would have jumped at the chance to kill her. Third: Klaus broke the curse and is now a hybrid, didn't think that would happen and it only took what like thousand years. "You saw Klaus and you survived?!?"

"I know I am surprised too, I thought for sure Klaus would have killed me. I just wanted to warn you about him." She paused for a second, looking deep in thought before continuing. "You don't seem scared. Klaus is in the same county as you and you aren't scared."

"I stopped being scared of Klaus a long time ago. When everything went down with him, I was terrified. I had betrayed Klaus's trust whether I wanted to admit that or not, and he doesn't take that well. I was high on the list people he wanted to get revenge. After a while, I realized that Klaus had the resources and means to find me if he really wanted revenge. And once I meant you and you told me that you destroyed Klaus's one chance of becoming a hybrid, I knew I had nothing to worry about. You became number one on his kill list."

"Is that why you tried so hard to protect me from him?" She asked.

"Of course. If Klaus got his hands on you, you would be dead in seconds." I took another sip of my drink.

She quickly changed the subject "But enough about me, how about you, anything exciting. "

"Nothing really, life has been really quiet. I for one can't say the same for you." I joked, we started to talk about the old times we had together. Eventually she had to go, so I decided to visit a witch friend of mine. I walk down to Gloria's bar, and pushed open the door. It looks the same as it did a century ago I thought to myself. I had a lot of good times here.

Gloria walked out from the storage room in the back of the bar "Didn't think I see you back here? "

"Well, I wanted to see how my favorite witch friend is doing, maybe we could play around with some spells together. Is that so wrong?" I was really feeling sarcastic today for some reason.

"Come on in, you know you're always welcome. I'll get my grimore from the back. " She started to get walk back before I stopped her.

"No, I'll get it"

"Okay, you may be looking for a while."

"Nothing like a little vampire speed to quicken the process."

I walk back behind the bar area to the storage room to find the book. It was a mess back here, Gloria really needs to clean up back here. I'm searching through a bundle of boxes and shelfs, when I realize I could just use a spell to find it. I do a simple locator spell and find the grimore. Just when I'm about to go back to the front, I hear someone, a familiar voice talking to Gloria. I decide to listen in on the conversation. I was in complete shock. I can't believe it: it's Klaus, he is Chicago, so I am pretty much dead. Katherine, I thought, she just got away from Klaus and now they are in the same city. I have to warn her.

I stopped for a minute. Knowing Katherine, she is trying to run away from him so she knew exactly where he was. When I get my hands on her, ugh!! She is going to get it from me and it won't be pretty. Listen back again and I don't seem to hear him anymore, so I decide to go back to Gloria.

Guess what walked into: Klaus, Gloria and Stefan all standing there looking at me. Now, what do I do now? I am in a room with a Ripper, Original Hybrid and a powerful witch, there is no escape now. Why didn't I just stay in the back, I'm dead meat. Klaus is just staring as at me and not trying to kill me, which is surprising. "Look Klaus if you're going to torture me or kill me or whatever else you have planned just do it already. "

"I'm not going to hurt you or whatever you may think love." He said and I am not believing a word coming out of his mouth.

"Really? So after chasing me for centuries: you finally have me in your grasp and you're not going to kill me. So you have forgiven me for what I did, sorry Klaus but forgiveness isn't one of your strong suits." I keep my voice as steady as possible to hide how scared I was that at any sudden moment: I would be dead.

"Well, after I chased you off, Elijah noticed something. That our family was whole while you were there, I didn't believe it at first but I started to notice as well. We were more united when you were there and after getting a good talk from my siblings I realized that you were just doing what you thought was right."

Now I am shocked, is this Klaus Mikaelson I am talking to or did he just forgive me for undaggering Finn. "So, you finally realized that daggering your siblings is cruel and unusual punishment." I started to relax in my speech after hearing his previous statement.

"No, but I do understand where you were coming from. So can we call it truce. I have something I have to do for Gloria."

"Let me make this clear, so if I accept your truce, you won't try to rip my heart out. "

"Yes, I won't rip your heart, love. So truce? " He said with a smirk on his face, did he think this was funny? It was most certainly not.

"Okay, then truce. So, are going to do this thing for Gloria or what? "

"I see that your smart mouth hasn't changed and follow me."

It was nice not having to run anymore, I am surprised I forgave him so easily I mean I ran for centuries from him. I am surprised he forgave me so easily, he has quite temper on him on. You know what they say, forgive and forget, but I don't think it's that's easy. Well, I did I missed having Klaus kinda of as an older brother, a partner in crime. Klaus, Stefan and I walked to the storage unit; I saw a bunch of coffins. He opened one up and I saw Rebekah, I was shocked: he daggered Rebekah. "Klaus, Why is Rebekah daggered? " I questioned, making sure temper was showing. Now I was angry how could he for this to her. Then he undaggered Rebekah, what is the point of this? Klaus is being a little too nice which is very unusual.

"All will be revealed soon enough. Now Stefan I'm going to prove to you that we were friends, we're going to our old apartment." Klaus started to walk off.

"Great, I wonder if the place has changed much since the 20's."

"Actually, Melissa you are staying here with Gloria. This is a guy thing."

"We are going to his old apartment, how is that a guy thing?" I questioned. What are those two up to?

"Look I don't have time to argue, so go with Gloria." He smirks at me, it looks like the big brother is back. I walk back inside to see my friend, Damon Salvatore, sitting at the bar. I am seeing all my old friends today. "Well, look here it's Damon Salvatore. I am surprised that you haven't been killed yet. How has it been? "

"Better, have you seen my brother?"

"Him and Klaus went to see his old apartment."

"Do you you when they will be back?"

"They'll be back tonight, they are running an errand for me." Gloria said

"Well, I have to go, see you both tonight." He leaves with a mischievous smile on his face, he is up to something. "Gloria, looks like we're going to have trouble tonight." I said with putting my palm on my forehead.

"Yes, we certainly are." She says as we clink our glasses together.

Time Skip

Klaus and Stefan get back and we are all having a drink, Klaus is telling Stefan about their times in Chicago together, it doesn't make much sense. I was with Stefan all through the 20's, so if they were buddies, I would have saw Klaus in the 20's. This is a little confusing. Then I realized that he compelled me to forget he was there. I have been playing catch up all day and it is getting annoying.

"Hey, Melissa could you help clean up back here?" Gloria called out from the other room.

"Yeah, be there in a second." I can't believe this Klaus compelled me, I don't have time to dwell on this now. After a couple of minutes helping Gloria, we hear a loud bang and leave the room. We get to the bar, and Klaus is about to stake Damon. Gloria sets the stake on fire, good move. "Really?" Klaus says with a annoyed look on his face.

"Not in my bar, take it outside." Gloria says.

"You don't have to negotiate your brother's freedom. When I'm done with him; he won't wanna come back." Klaus says while slamming Damon back down to the floor.

Klaus asks me and Stefan to go with back to the storage unit, and wait in the back. We stood in silence for a while before I finally decide to say something. "So, how did the Ripper end up working with Klaus Mikaelson?"

"It is a long story." He sighed

"Everything with Klaus is a long story." Klaus calls us over to him, where I see Rebekah. I haven't seen her in forever, I ran up and gave her the biggest hug possible with a huge smile on my face. "I missed you so much, Bekah." I felt like I was about to cry, she like a sister to me.

"I missed you too." She says as she hugs me back and it warms my heart to hear her say that.

Klaus goes up to Stefan and compels him, "Now you remember."

"Rebekah" He says to her with a smile, and she smiles back.He looks back to Klaus and says "We were friends."

"We are friends, Stefan." Klaus says.

"Melissa, how has it been? I haven't seen you since the 20's." She says to me.

"I don't remember you or Klaus being there because he compelled me to forget." I said with a hint of anger in my voice.

"You compelled her too, I know you were trying to cover our tracks but really." She was definitely annoyed at her brother. I could definitely reciprocate those feelings.

"Look, I compelled away those memories because of Mikael. He would have went after her if he thought she knew anything and you know it. It was to protect her. " He said, but it did make sense when you're running; you have cover your tracks.

"Well Mikael is who knows where, so give her the memories back. Now, Nik." She was angry and an angry Rebekah isn't a good thing.

"Fine, I'll give her the memories back. You now remember." He compels me. Everything is coming back now, all of these laughs, the drinking, the blood. I remember it all now, Klaus forgave me a century ago for what I had done.

Rebekah starts to feel around her neck looking for something. "Where is my necklace? I never take it off."

"Tell me that's not what she needs, Rebekah!" Klaus growled at her. She started to flip all the coffins over to try and find it. Klaus stands there angry and upset by what just happened. Stefan is over there bored and annoyed with everyone. I, on the other hand, was happy to see them all again.

This is the end of my first official chapter, I really hope you liked it. This is my first time writing a story, so there may be mistakes.
