Sophie's pov

I woke up to the healing centre. Again! I couldn't even remember how long I had been here.  I made a mental reminder to ask Elwin. I turned to examine the healing centre and I saw woman sitting on the chair across the room.

"Hi."Elsie said.

"Hey Elsie ! What are you doing here?" She talked to her every night but That was telepathically. She had never visited in person.

"Cant i visit my friend?" She joked walking up to the side of my cot, and helping me into a sitting position.

I smiled, I know that I have only known her for a short period of time but I couldn't help but trust her completely.

"You know they told me your scars were bad but I didn't think...." Her voice trailed off. Now she was staring at my arm. " just another thing that makes me a freak" I said sighing. Her eyes widened as she told me " No Sophie, you are not a freak." her brown eyes met mine and she whispered "they make you look tougher".

The relationship between them could easily be described as Elsie was the big sister Sophie never had. It's like they have known each other all their lives. "Thanks" I mumbled. She nodded as Elwin walked in.

"Sophie, I think you've healed enough to start the next step in your recovery" he said smiling brightly.

"Yes!" I said enthusiastically.

"Watch out world here comes Sophie foster" I heard Elsie mumble.
