                                               ELENA HAMILTON WAS MANY things, but one she was not is a liar. she absolutely hated liars — it was her biggest pet peave. she hated being lied to and she hated lying herself. she found it utterly pointless when people were bound to find out the truth either way.

so therefore, elena was not lying when she told the girls - and trent - what happened between her and lando. why would she? she had been crying in her fathers arms ever since she saw all the photos that were released. it was true that the media, at times, hated her. and now that she was dating the golden boy, jude bellingham, the prayers of her downfall had only grown louder.

she did not want anything to do with lando norris, not after the things he had said about her and her boyfriend. it was disrespectful. elena didn't even want to look at him after the way he had not only disrespected her, but her relationship as well.

their conversation was anything but reciprocated from both sides; she blanked him out the second lando tried to get closer. but the only people who knew that were her and lando. she knew that he would never take her side and defend her, so she took a deep breath and started to reflect on what lando had said to her that morning.

it went a little something like this...

"elena!" a voice yelled as the said girl opened the hotel door to venture out the building.

she instantly turned around with a polite smile on her face, not recognising the voice, as she held the door open for them. at that moment the pictures were snapped, and at that moment lando norris walked out behind her.

"what the fuck do you want?" elena asked, moving back slightly as he edged closer.

he grinned. "can't say hi?"

"with the way you've been running your mouth? not a chance," she practically laughed in his face, yet to the paparazzi it looked as if she had been laughing at something he said.

"let me apologise," he sighed, running a hand over his face and staring at elena as she straight up just glared at him, not amused in the slightest. "to you. please."

"you can apologise to me all you want, and yes i'll acknowledge that, but there's no way in hell that i am accepting it," elena snapped.

"so we're doing it like this?" he asked as he moved closer to her. elena frowned and tried to distance herself from him.

"i will walk away," she threatened, knowing that she would probably just walk away either way.

"listen, i'm sorry," lando said, causing her to fold her arms over her chest. "for everything. it's just frustrating when you know what jude's like and everything he's said about yo-"

elena interrupted him almost immediately. "jude hasn't said fuck all about me and you don't know what he's like, so you can get that excuse out the bag," she said.

lando scoffed. "he isn't good for you! no footballer is ready for a relationship! he just wants you for one thing and once he gets that he'll be gone!"

"he gets it at least once a week and yet somehow he's still here... must be a miracle!" she threw her hands up in shock and gasped loudly, stifling a laugh at his shocked face.

"quit being a bitch, i'm trying to be mature here," lando argued.

elena widened her eyes and laughed. "babe you've done enough to even try and act mature now, and i've already told you that i won't be accepting your apology; you're honestly just wasting your breath at this point."

as elena went to walk away from him, he quickly latched onto her wrist and tried to pull her back towards him. elena widened her eyes and hastily pulled her wrist from his grip, moving back and further away from him. "don't touch me!"

"you're being immature!"

"wait until i tell my dad about this!" she screamed in his face, and elena didn't care how pathetic she sounded, because that was one threat to make.

if there was one thing lewis hamilton specialised in, it was protecting his fucking daughter.

"so this is what i get for trying to apologise?" he questioned, frowning at her and reaching out to grab onto her wrist again, but she was quick to smack him away.

"you're so obsessed with me," she shook her head, staring at lando in amazement. "why are you so obsessed with me? i really wanna know."

he scoffed. "i'm not obsessed."

"yes you are," elena nodded, backing away from him as lando watched her leave with a clenched jaw. "you so are. you're obsessed with me, and you're obsessed with jude. i mean- fuck! you're obsessed with our entire relationship."

"no i'm not-!"

"i don't want you! stop being so delusional!"

"oh- fuck off elena!"

"that's what i'm trying to do!" she shouted back, sticking her middle finger up at him before she finally turned around and stormed off, hearing lando curse loudly from behind her.

but the media didn't see this.

what the media saw was elena holding a door open for lando as they left a hotel together in outfits that could easily be depicted as pyjamas.

                                             JUDE BELLINGHAM WAS ALSO many things, but one he was not is an idiot. he knew the photos were fake the moment he saw them, or at least, he knew that they were taken out of proportion. elena would never do such thing — and yet quite frankly he knew lando would.

jude didn't know that to think as he kept looking at the photo over and over again. it still hurt, even if he knew that it was most likely fake. somewhere, deep within, jude was hurt.

just the sight of the picture, and the stories people online were making. if it was real — or more so, if the stories were real — jude doesn't know what he would have done.

cried himself to sleep? yes.

jude loved her too much. she wouldn't ever do it to him, and that was the hope he still kept within him as he finally found the energy to venture down the stairs, dried tear stains on his cheeks.

"jude! i made lunc- what happened?" denise asked her son in concern, softly placing a motherly hand on his back and guiding him to sit on a chair as he practically collapsed into her arms. "jude?"

"i know it's not real, i know it isn't," he explained, showing her the photo on his phone as his mother observed it carefully. "but it just... hurts to look at. i'm probably deeping it but i just- i can't even. she wouldn't do that to me... but still. it's hurtful. i... i don't know what to think, or believe."

"take a look at her body language," denise pointed out — jude lifted his head from her shoulder as he looked at where she was pointing. "and look at her eyes. they don't look welcoming at all, jude — they look anxious, and her body is clearly anything but comfortable. i don't think she was expecting to be walking out with... whoever he is." 

jude frowned. "so what are you saying?"

"that boy with her is initiating something, and she wants none of it," denise sighed, rubbing her hand on her sons back as he widened his eyes and took back his phone, zooming in on elena.

"holy fuck-!"

"sorry," jude dismissed, before his jaw clenched as he shook his head. "why didn't i see it any sooner? that boys been trying to get with her for months!"

"boys tend to be clueless at times," she joked, until she sensed how angry he was. "jude, calm down."

"how do you expect me to be calm after that? after the boy who talks about her like she's this fucking object tries making a move on elena when i'm not there?" he snapped, and denise knew not to warn him about his language or harsh tone.

because if there was one thing jude bellingham was bad at, it was dealing with his emotions. he usually took his emotions out on other people, lashing out even when they didn't deserve it. he said numerous things before he stopped and thought about it, and should probably not be having conversations with people when he was in this state.

denise stuck to just softly rubbing his shoulders, feeling him fall limp in her motherly embrace.
