Emily Rose's Aesthetics. 🔝

Emily Rose

You know who's been acting weird for the past day or so?

Parker.

Ever since the night of the club, he's been acting quiet, distant. As if he know something I don't and if I'm being truthful with myself, it's strangely pissing me off.

I know from years of experience; a quiet Parker is not a good one.

There's something going on in that complex mind of his and it's everything but sunshine and rainbows.

"Let's go somewhere!" I say as I hit the top of the table where Parker's sitting. A pair of black glasses hang from the bridge of his nose as he studies the computer in front of him.

"Can't, need to work." He answers, his eyes still trained on the computer.

"Okay."

I smile as I slam his laptop's screen down.

"What the fuck, Emily?! I'm trying to work!" Parker screams at me and he finally looks at me, anger apparent in his eyes.

"Finally, you're looking at me. A whole week has gone by and you have been basically avoiding me. Why's that?" I cock my head to the side as I ask him.

Parker glares at me before silently opening up his computer again.

He starts to type before I do the same thing I did a second ago; slam his computer screen down.

"Fuck, Emmie! W-what do you want?" Parker asks me but he's not looking at me.

Actually, he's looking at anything but me.

"Let's go somewhere, you and me. You said you want to get to know me again, let's do it."

"You're being childish."

"Yes, but you're ignoring me and you also need to replace the furniture in my house, that you said you were going to replace a week ago. I guess we both have problems."

Parker rolls his eyes, before groaning. He drags his hand down his face before pinching the bridge of his nose, "if I do this, will you leave me alone for a day?"

"Yes." I answer, instantly.

Parker frowns before standing up and walking over towards his room. "You better be dressed in 10, if not I'm leaving you."

I roll my eyes and scoff as Parker's bedroom door slams shut.

Yeah, right!

Okay, I was wrong.

Fuck.

My head began to pound as I tried to catch up to Parker's moving car.

"Parker!" I screamed, my voice straining as I tried to speed up.

Of course, my dumbass self didn't take Parker's threat seriously, now I'm running down a long sidewalk, as Parker drives down a empty street.

Thank God, I ran track, I thought to myself.

As Parker's truck began to slow down, I swear I could see the smirk on his face through his rear-view mirror.

Parker rolls down his window.

"Didn't I tell you to be ready at 10 or I was going to leave your ass?" Parker asked smugly as I began to catch up with the truck.

"Park the car!"

"What? What was that? I couldn't hear you over how right I was."

"Park the goddamn car, Parker!"

"Not until you admit that you were wrong and need to listen." Parker turns attention towards me for a second before looking back at the road ahead of him.

"I swear, Parker, I'll—"

"I'll speed this car up, Emily! And leave your ass here. You know I will!"

I shut my eyes and scream. "FINE! I was wrong and need to listen, now will you stop the car!"

The car stops instantly and Parker stares at me; a smile dangled on the corner of his lips.

"Damn Emmie, I said to admit, not scream it out, but it's your preference." He gives me a subtle wink.

"I hate you." I huffed as reached over towards the car's door handle.

"I told you ten minutes."

I roll my eyes as I get into the car, "yeah, I get it."

"You need to listen."

I began to buckle up my seatbelt quietly, ignoring his pervious statement.

Silence fill the car and I began to realize something.

Parker and I have nothing to talk about and probably never will.

"Hey, Emmie?" Parker asks me.

"Yeah?"

"Do you miss the old days?" He utters the words so softly that the silence ensnares the words as its own.

I stay silent before hesitantly answering.

"No."

Parker's head shoots towards me, his face riddled with shock.

"Why?"

I groan and began run my hands through my hair. "Because Parker, we were faulted. We might we thought we were best friends but it obviously one-sided."

I don't look at Parker as say but instead the nearby window, that shows me buildings and people instead of the crushing emotion that might be shown in Parker's eyes.

I don't want hurt anymore.

No one says anything for while.

A mix of awkwardness and sadness hits us like a wave. We slowly began to drown in our own sorrow and misery. Learning the truth about us hasn't brought us anywhere than we were before. And I don't think it ever will.

Then suddenly, Parker's voice emerges from the sinking tension.

"Do you ever think we can be better than we were before?"

I take a deep breath. "I don't know, Parker. I don't know."

As much as I wanted, I couldn't lie to Parker.

What I said was true, I didn't know what the future had for us.

But one thing I did, is that you can only drown in someone else's darkness for so long before it becomes your own.

And I don't when I came to that conclusion.

Maybe, it was the day I realized that Parker would never love or maybe, it was the day that Tomas stepped back into my life.

But what I do know is when it really hit me hard:

The Morning After Parker Left Me.

*****

Hey guys!

To be honest and truthful, I never meant to make this chapter sad and depressing but I was listening to a song and got in my feels. So here it is!

Kind of boring in the beginning but it lead up to something great.

A Flashback! (That's for the next chapter)

So Emily has realized some new things and honestly that's going to leave her a little messed up.

Maybe she'll try to fix the problem, maybe not?

Also, thank you guys for 51k!

Trust me, I'm won't be a dick and not say thank you.

You guys are truly amazing and I hope you guys keep reading because it really means a lot to me.

To know someone around the world is reading my story and liking it, is pretty cool.

And don't worry there won't be anymore plot twist or something like that. Or will there? 🤔🤔

So for Emily's aesthetic, up top, I'll try to work on a better version it because it looks sloppy to me and I know I can make it better, so expect that to come.

Anyways, I hope you liked Chapter 14 of The Love That Is Parker Bowmen.
