"This is the place." Rocky stated, "Paint Attack." he pointed at the building infront of us.

"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" I said excitedly, running inside. "Hello." a dude greeted me as I entered. "Hey." I replied. "By yourself?" he questioned. I shook my head. "My friends-" I was interrupted by the uproar of the rest of the gang coming inside, towards me. "Are here too." I finished.

His eyes widened, "Oh okay."

"Welcome everyone to Paint Attack. This is a place where you play paintball obviously. Um no other forms of weapons are allowed besides the paint gun. And if all the members of one team 'die'," he said, putting quotation marks on the word die, "The other team obviously wins. That's the basic rules." he told us.

"Just pick teams and your colour, either blue or red." "Blue!" I said excitedly. Blue is my ultimate favourite colour. "O..kay, blue for your team then." the guy said awkwardly. He took out four blue  body protector things and handed them to me. I distributed the gear to Ross, Rocky and Ryland. 

They all mumbled a thanks. "Right, so you guys have five minutes to discuss your game plan, when I come back it's time to get your paint on!" he tried to say enthusiastically but failed majorly.

"Okay, come on group." I said and the guys huddled around me. Rocky Ryland, I want you guys up a tree so you can attack from above, they'll never expect it." I whispered. 

They all chuckled. "Ross and I would stay behind benches, bushes to take out the others. We gotta win this." I smirked. We all high fived. 

"Time  is up. Everyone. Go!" the dude yelled. Nobody shot at anyone, everyone went to a hiding spot. After a while, I heard the voices of Rydel and Ellington.

 "First kill." I muttered to Ross which he responded with a weird wiggle of his eyebrows. 

I muffled a giggle. But it was heard. "Ell, I heard a giggle." Rydel stated and softly she continued, "Behind those bushes." 

My eyes widened, "Abort, abort." I whispered and Ross and I went behind a bench. "Get ready." I told him. 

"Aha!" Rydel yelled to which Ross and I replied with shooting both Rydel and Ellington. 

"Dang it!" she muttered. "Foiled by the best friends!" I smiled but my mind lingered when she said best friends. Can Ross and I ever return to being best friends?

"Two down from the red team!" the dude yelled.

"Come on, they'll look for us here." I told Ross and he nodded. We went over to another bush which was near Rocky and Ryland's hiding tree.

I saw Riker and Sofia crouching slightly, walking close to the tree. "Expect the unexpected." Sofia told Riker. "I know my best friend, she'll most likely have one of them, hiding right about." and she began to look up. 

Dang it! 

"Achoo!!!!!!" Rocky sneezed. "I knew it!" Sofia smirked and shot at Rocky but losing her companion, she lost Riker to Ryland and she shot at Ryland. 

"One down from the red team. Two down from the blue team!" yelled the dude again.

"Great, they could be anywhere. But the only place she'll look to hide is the bushes." Sofia mumbled to herself, turning to the bush where Ross and I were hiding.

"Go. Save yourself. I'll cover for you. Go over to a next bush." Ross whispered. 

I nodded and wobbled over to a next bush. As soon as I made it safely away, Sofia found Ross and they shot at each other, both missing, until Ross shot at Sofia.

Wow.

"We won!" I screamed from the other bush. "I was so close." Sofia scolded herself. "I'm proud of you Sof, you are an awesome paintballer." I hugged her. "That means a lot coming from you Jess." she smiled.

"And the blue team wins. Yay for you guys. Congrats. Hope you enjoyed it and please com again." the dude said somewhat cheerily.

"Thanks." and we all walked to the car. "Where to eat?" Riker asked. "Subway." Ross and I replied. I chuckled, were we that alike?

"Great, after lunch we can go shopping since the nearest Subway is in a mall." Rydel squealed. "Cool." I nodded. "Girlish clothes?" Sofia slightly screwed up her face. "Duh, only the best." Rydel responded.

"You know, I think I'll stick with the guys." she faked a smile. "Great, I've been meaning to get to know you." said Ross excitedly, too excitedly.

Jealous much?

Oh shut up conscience! "Cool, well let's get going then."

~At Subway~

"So you're a vegetarian?" Ross questioned like it was the weirdest thing on Earth. Sofia nodded. "Do you have something against meat eaters?" he continued. She shook her head. "Are you uncomfortable around meat?" 

She nodded, "Yeah, but I'm trying my best to suck it up being around all this upsetting meat. But don't mind me!"

He laughed. "You're funny." "Thank you very much." Sofia did a mini bow. "I know I'm awesome." 

I choked on my food. "Oh shut up Jess." she rolled her eyes. Everyone laughed. "How long have you and Jessica been best friends?" Riker asked her. 

"Eight years." she replied, taking a bite in her sandwich. 

"But that's basically the exact time we left for California." Ross stated. "Yeah it was. The Monday after you left, Sofia was a new student in school." I told him.

Rydel faked cough, "Maybe we should start shopping." she smiled. I nodded," Yeah." 

"I'll see you later Sof." I smiled but it quickly turned to a frown when I saw Ross playfully spinning Sofia around. My heart pained, like a knife stabbed it.

"Bye Jess." she laughed as he continued spinning her. 

Rydel, Ellington and  I walked off to a shop Rydel wanted to visit. The thought of Sofia and Ross still played in my head.
