Chapter 25

Jessica's POV:

I rushed to the car. "Jeez Sofia what's with the rush."

"Let's just go Jess. We'll be late for class." she looked out the window. "Since when have you ever worried about being late?"

"Since forever Jess, you never worry about being late."

"Oh, yeah. Right." I drove out of the driveway. "What happened in there though?"

"I told Riker I loved him." she said softly. "What's the big deal, don't you mean it?" She looked at me.

"Sof, you love him don't you?" I tried my best not to take my eyes off the road.

"I do. I think. I mean yeah I do but his reaction. I was saying it in like a joking way you know. I never told a guy I loved him before. We never said we loved each other before and when I did I wasn't even paying attention to my wording and how he reacted it was just...to much." she had her head in her hands.

Since I could show her my sympathetic expression I tried to sound it as best as I could. "You shouldn't stress so much over this Sofia. It's just 'I love you'."

"Jess. It's not just 'I love you'. You can't go around and just tell someone 'I love you'. You have to really mean it, those words can change a relationship between two people."

She gave a sigh, "Those three words Jess, are everything and I fear that my careless use for it caught Riker so off guard. He probably doesn't even feel the same way."

"Sof," I parked the car and looked at her, she looked back.

"I agree he was caught off guard but believe me when I say he loves you and you love him. You will say those important three words to each other at a very important moment. One you'll never forget okay. I promise you that."

"Come on Jess you can't promise that." she said, unbuckling her seat belt and got out the car.

I jumped out the car, grabbing my thing and raced after her. "Sofia!" She stopped and stared at me, stress clear on her face.

"I said I promise you. You may not believe it but I promise you Sofia, it will happen."

She gave a small smile. I opened my arms, offering a hug and she accepted. "Thanks Jess." "Anytime Sof. Now let's get to class. I'll see you later." I walked to class.

"Hey Jess." I looked at Sofia. "Do you love Ross?" "Um, I'll get back to you on that."

----------------------------------------------------

Ross' POV:

I walked into Riker's room to see how he was doing.

The whole 'I love you' situation is really getting to him. "Hey Riker." I saw him writing something on his desk.

"Hey" he softly greeted.

"Are you okay?" I ask, looking at his face for his expression. He shrugged, "I'm better than I was this morning."

"What are you doing?"

He stopped what he was doing and looked at me, "I'm planning something for Sofia on our trip to Colorado."

"That's cool, what is it?" I sat on his bed.

"You're really curious today Ross. Are you okay?" he scribbled something quickly and paused, thinking of something else.

"I just wanna make sure you're doing okay. You seemed really messed up this morning."

"Thanks for the concern bro but I'm okay. I don't know if Sofia loves me or not but I'm gonna tell her how I feel when we're in Colorado. I'm gonna take her to her favourite beach.." he paused and a smile was on his face.

"She talks so fondly of that beach. It's really cute how much she loves it. Her face when she's excited is ador-" he looked at me and stopped.

He coughed, "Um yeah, the beach and I'm gonna tell her how I feel. I really care about her and I'm-I'm thinking of giving her a promise ring."

"Wow. Really?"

He nodded, "I'm not too sure. I'm gonna ask Jess to see what she says. She lives with her so it's best to get her opinion."

I tapped his shoulder, "That's great bro."

"I wanna make it really special. I don't if what she said today was just something she said off the top of her tongue but I love her and if she doesn't feel the same way then I'll just have to go through with the fact that she doesn't."

I could see the sadness ready to cover his face.

I gave a small smile. "Dude, if it makes you feel any better. I've been thinking-" "Oh that's never good." he chuckled.

I rolled my eyes, "Ha ha. So very funny. As I was saying, I think she loves you. I mean she use to tell me that love meant a lot to her and she wouldn't use it carelessly. She never told a guy that she loved them before and that's including me. So mistake or not, she wouldn't just say those words. It means too much to her. So if she told you Riker. You should feel really good about yourself that Sofia loves you. Wow was that a mouthful."

Riker smiled, just smiled.

"The silence is killing me bro. I just gave what I believe was a thoughtful speech and you've said nothing."

He stood up and hugged me, "Thanks Ross."

I patted his back, "Anytime Riker. I best start planning what to do with Jess when we're in Colorado myself. See you later." I walked to my room.

"Hey Ross." I looked at Riker. "Do you love Jess?" "Um, I'll get back to you on that."
