Shizuo's Honor

"Do you think I should have brought Izaya with me today?" Shizuo asked Tom as they walked down the sidewalk. "He seems to be bored whenever I come home lately."

"Well he has been cooped up inside for a few months," Tom replied. "I'm sure the fresh air would do him some good."

"You're right," the blonde agreed. "I'll bring him along tomorrow." As they start nearing the park, the two start hearing some sort of argument.

"I wonder what the commotion is," Tom said. As they got closer, Shizuo recognized the voices.

"Wh-why would you do this to me? I once loved you." Shizuo's pace quickened.

"That's Izaya," he reported to Tom. "Why isn't he back at the apartment?"

"He probably decided to go for a quick walk," the debt collector responded, picking up his own pace. Shizuo growled at himself. He knew Izaya was getting bored.

'I knew I should have brought him with me today,' he thought.

"You don't deserve to call me that! Only Shizu-chan gets that honor." Shizuo could see the park entrance not too far off. He froze as he turned around the corner.

"Oh, is that so?" Kuro replied to Izaya in a deadly tone, causing the blind male to turn pale. "Then I guess I'll just have to take it back then." He advanced on Izaya and sliced right through his left eye. The sudden attack caused the raven to falter and lose his balance.

"IZAYA!" Shizuo shouted before rushing over to catch his boyfriend.

"Shi..zu..chan.." Izaya mustered to say before passing out.

"Izaya!" Shizuo held the info broker close as he turned to glare at Kuro.

"My my," he commented. "What a weakling. All I did was slash his eye and he passes out from that?" Kuro shook his head. "He's definitely lost his touch. And it's all your fault." He pointed the knife at Shizuo.

"Yeah right," the blonde growled. "He was loosing his eyesight weeks before I became his aid. It was the result of his job; not me."

"Pfft," Kuro scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Point is; ever since you moved in with him, you two stopped fighting. If you hadn't, he would have been able to dodge my attack." Shizuo's eyes narrowed.

"Tom," he called to his middle school friend. "Watch Izzy for me." He carefully handed off the unconscious male before turning back to Kuro, cracking his knuckles.

"So," Kuro growled. "I see you have the nerve to use MY nickname for him in front of me."

"You may have been able to call him that before," Shizuo rolled his shoulders to stretch them. "But, just as Izaya said, I have that honor now."

"Then I'll fight you for it," Kuro took up a battle stance.

"Bring it," Shizuo grinned.
