"Shizu-chan," Izaya intertwined his fingers with Shizuo's as he continued to smile and blush at the blonde's confession. "You're being super sweet, not that I'm complaining; but I'm usually the sappy one. What's gotten into you?"

"Oh nothing much," Shizuo replied, kissing Izaya's hand again. "I just wanted to express how much I love you and why it is that I do." He stood up and lead Izaya in front of him.

"Over the course of these past two years, we've gone from enemies, to mutual acquaintances, to lovers. You've shown me time and time again that no matter how dark the path, there will always be a light waiting at the end," he knelt down on one knee. "And you, Izaya Orihara, are that light." He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small box.

"So, will you do me the honor," Shizuo opened up the box and guided Izaya's hand over what was inside. "Of remaining by my side, just as I have done for you?"

As soon as he felt the delicate ring resting inside the box, Izaya could feel tears of happiness starting to well up in his eyes. Trying his best to keep them at bay, the raven nodded.

"Yes. Yes, of course!" Izaya leaned down and gave his now fiancée a warm embrace. Shizuo returned the hug and stood up as those around them in the restaurant started clapping and cheering for them in celebration.

Izaya released him from the hug and felt Shizuo wipe away a few tears before slipping the ring onto his finger. The raven smiled and leaned in for a kiss, to which Shizuo met him halfway.

After dinner, the two of them were just sitting in the park, cuddled up on a bench. Izaya felt the ring with his thumb and smiled as he leaned against Shizuo. The blonde kept an arm wrapped around him as he lovingly watched Izaya continue to gush over their engagement. Shizuo was happy himself as he had been completely nervous about getting the proposal right.

"Hey, Shizuo! Izaya!" Shizuo looked up at the mention of his name and spotted his childhood friend.

"Oh hey, Shinra," he greeted. Izaya sat up when he heard it was their friend. "What are you and Celty doing out here?"

"Celty heard through the Dollars' site that you two just got engaged and I thought we'd come congratulate you," Shinra smiled. "Afterall, it's because of me that you two knew each other in the first place."

"That's true," Izaya snuggled up to Shizuo. "And if it wasn't for Shizu-chan being my aid, it's almost certain I would have gotten back with you-know-who."

"Well, I certainly don't regret making that decision," Shizuo nuzzled him. "And thanks for coming to congratulate us, Shinra."

"Of course," Shinra smiled and wrapped an arm around Celty. "I'm just happy to see two of my friends find the one that they want to spend forever with." Shizuo kissed Izaya's forehead, and the raven wrapped his arms around the blonde lovingly.
