It was valentine's day and everyone was going mushy and snogging up. I was pretty grossed up in the hallways after seeing couple after couple going more than a bit of light snogging. Even Ron and Lavender were at it. I shook my head and made my way to the common room after a long day in classes but when I entered there was more people snogging.

Even in classes somewhere getting close and snogging in the back. What I found amusing about was one couple who thought they could get away with it in Snape's class. He just utterly embarrassed them in front of the entire class, with detention on top of it.

I mean I don't mind, but I much rather prefer to be with Draco knowing he'd be able to take my mind off the entire castle being lovey dovey. But that wasn't possible. It wasn't like my third year, the night of the yule ball, where no one cared. He and my brother are on wrost terms as it is.

I made it to my room to find a black owl by my window with a rose. A smile formed on my face as I look around and saw none of my other roommates were here, which I greatly appreciated it, so I went over took the flower and a card that was wrap around the stem.

Meet me at the astronomy tower tonight after dinner.

I smiled and touch the petals of the roses gently, then lifting it up to my nose and inhaled the beautiful scent.

He did know how to sweep a girl off her feet.

I opened the drawer on my nightstand and place the rose gently inside beside the necklace, journal, and a few other of my personal things. I went back to studying these, since it was still early, OWLs were going to kill me. Ginny and Alice came in and we sat together, mostly with Alice and Ginny between each other and I was quite. Ginny and Mione were the only two I haven't told about Draco and me being together again, just Alice. Even though she has said that I should probably tell them. I couldn't. Because once I do, they'll tell Harry.

Soon we all went to dinner and I notice Draco wasn't there. Which wasn't surprising he sometimes skip dinner and breakfast, sometimes lunch. Harry was sitting across from me and I had to think of something to get away from them, without causing any suspicion. But thankfully the boys grab everyone's attention so I was able to leave without catching anyone's attention. And Alice would cover for me.

"Everything alright?" Simon ask, which caught me off guard.

"Fine." I told him. "Just have a few things to do."

I made my way upstairs and then headed straight for the astronomy tower. I walk in and found Draco leaning against the railing, his head was down, back slouch.

"Draco?"

He glanced over at me as I made my way over.

"You came."

"Of course." I was standing beside him with one arm holding the railing. "Did you think I wasn't?"

"To be honest." he said looking out at the light snow falling that was now almost completely melted. "I keep picturing one day you just won't show up and want nothing to do with me anymore."

I placed my head on his shoulder. "I don't think that's possible."

We were silent for a moment. Which wasn't awkward, just meant he was thinking. He did that a lot.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course."

"Why haven't you told Potter about us?" he whispered sliding his hand into mine, our fingers slipping into the other. I look down at our connected hands and melted myself into his touch.

"I'm scared of what he's going to think. We both know if you were anyone else he'd gladly accept it. I haven't told anyone because they'll straight to him, when I tell him it'll be on my term. I don't want to lose my brother because my heart wanted something he didn't approve of."

I look up at him as he place a soft kiss on my forehead.

"I understand. I'm not sure my father would ever understand this whereas my mother she'll go to the ends of the earth to keep me happy. They're two different people and I never understood how it was possible but I see it now. my father wasn't a different person he cared and go through everything for his family. So you were right like father like son." I sat up as we both turned to each other. He raised a hand so he would run his fingers through my hair brushing it behind my shoulder. "My mother would like you."

"She sounds lovely."

"You would like her too."he said. "Too bad Potter wouldn't allow this anymore than it needs to go."

"I guess we're lucky that you and my brother have hated each other since you've met."

"Not completely my fault."

"You treated Ron unfair in front of everyone, made everyone sing a song about him to humiliate so we'd lose the match last year."

"Weasley had it coming."

"Draco..."

"It's true."

I let out a small laugh as he smiled and he walk us over to the small steps so we would sit down, still holding hands.

"Can I ask you a question?" I ask as he turned me around so I would lay on my back and was press up against his chest while his arms wrap around me.

"Depends on the question." he said into my ear.

"Actually it's two questions."

He waited for me to ask them, in my head I was debating which one I should ask first knowing he might just ignore both of them.

"Why did you save me back at the Quidditch World Cup? Every time I asked you, you kept telling me to drop it. I left it alone last year but still..."

He took a deep breathe while I felt as his chest rise and fall. He let go one of my hands so he would brush my hair back.

"Because a part of me couldn't bare the thought of you possibly getting killed. Believe it or not I was falling mad for you, love. I wanted to protect you."

"Didn't have to throw me over your shoulders."

He slightly scoffed. "You weren't making it easy, love. You look ready to die for him."

"He's my brother, Draco."

"Exactly. That's what I hated at first, you were the little sister of Saint Potter. ready to die and go into battle because you love him. My feelings didn't really help, so I tried to do everything to make you and myself hate each other. But I lost and just wanted to kiss you, hold you... All I want is to take you away and make you mine."

I turned move so I was on my side, his arms stay wrap safety around me while mine went around his torso, with one side of my face against his chest.

"What's the other question, love?"

"It's more of an observation. When we first met."

He chuckled a bit and pressed a kiss on top of my head. "You know no one ever shamed me like that."

"In my defense, you nearly trip me."

"that was an accident."

"You did it on purpose and you know. it."

He smiled and place another kiss on my forehead. "I saw you, thought you were beautiful, and wanted an excuse to get your attention. So I'm sorry about that darling."

"You're forgiven."

I smiled and just stayed safely in his arms. We look out into the now dark sky, there were stars out as the moon hung in the air brightly. my head rested on his chest while his shin was rested on top of my head.

"Stars look beautiful tonight." he said his hand still running through my hair.

"You know I always loved looking at the stars." I spoke softly. "Guess that's why I love astronomy class."

"Really?"

I nodded. "My cousin Dudley would pull this evil prank, he and his friends would chase Harry and me out of the house and up until we were force to climb in trees. It was just a way so they could lock us both out of the house. My uncle and Aunt didn't care, pretended not to notice. So we would just spend the night outside, and we'd look at the stars to pass the time. Believe or not I would try to count every single one. Believed they were loved ones who died and their spirt would create a new star in the sky, and every night when they loved ones were asleep they were protecting them from evil spirits that would harm them." I let out a sigh. "It's silly i know."

"No... it's not." he said. "And as for your muggle cousin, on the other hand, he sounds pathetic."

"He's family." his arms tighten more a bit around me. "They'll cruel but still family." I let out a small yawn.

"Tired?" he asked continuing to brush his fingers through my hair.

"A bit." I closed my eyes for a bit then reopened it. My eyes grew heavy then suddenly I willingly let myself close my eyes and drift off.

Draco

She was sleeping. I didn't want to wake her, but I knew I have to. But for right now I had to get something off my chest, it wasn't right to say it while she was asleep but she couldn't know just yet.

"I love you. And I'm scared that when you find out what I am, what I'm going to do, you'll never want anything to do with me. That you'll hate me. If he finds out... he'll kill you to get to your brother and to punish me. Blaise think's I'm being paranoid, Theo too. So to protect you, I made them swear to me they'll never tell a soul about our relationship. That I'm completely in love with you, at least not until the war is over. Because believe it or not, I have faith in your brother to end the dark lord." I moved my hand to the small part of her back and held her close, inhaling the scent of lavender and vanilla. "You are the only thing keeping me sane in this madness. When you learn the truth.... I'll understand if you want to leave me. If you hate me, hurt me. I deserve it after all I'm done. My heart was ever yours to break. But know that I'm sorry darling... and I love you, always."

She still remained asleep. I just let her be.

After half an hour it was almost time for curfew.

"Princess." I shook her a bit then stroke her back. "Wake up."

She groaned and fluttered her beautiful gorgeous eyes opened. "What time...?"

"It's almost curfew. We should get you to bed."

"But I don't want to leave." she yawned and pulled herself closer to me.

I smiled and kiss her lips. "I don't either. But I don't want to be the reason you get caught and have detention."

She let out a sigh. "Fine."

We both got up and I took her hand leading her to the Gryffindor common room letting her give the password and went inside. I turned away quickly and headed down to the dungeons. Yes it was my night to patrol but Blaise was now taking care of that, so it didn't matter to me.

"Ops sorry." a girl trip in front of me. she pick up her books and stood up. I recognize her as Astoria Greengrass, Daphne Greengrass little sister. "Oh, hello Malfoy. How are you?"

I know I shouldn't be rude, but it wasn't unknown that she a slight crush on me. I heard Daphne tell Pansy and she told me.

"Get to your house Greengrass or I'll take away points from your house." she stood there confused. "Now."

She drop her head and quickly walk pass me and hurried to her house tower.

I got inside the common room where a few eyes followed me as I made my way to my room. Salazar, can't people mind their own business?

Davina

I went up it my room and changed into my night clothes and crawled into bed. I closed the drapes halfway and just fell to sleep.

I was almost to sleep when the door slammed opened and Alice came in furious.

"Honestly can she not just know when she's not wanted?" she said.

"Alice." I sat up look at her. "Some of us are trying to sleep."

"Sorry." She said. "It's just...."

"Lavender, took your spot." Ginny said coming up to me. "It was near Ron and she just help herself. We saw how it was bothering Hermione so we had to do something but she was being persistent. And what happened to you?"

"Got a bit tired." I said yawning. "Look from what Harry told me Ron losing interest in her. So eventually he'll leave her..."

"Doesn't seem that way." Alice said going to her trunk. "Has anyone seen my jumper?"

"You had it in the wardrobe." Ginny said.

"I would know if I put it there."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm going to bed, goodnight you two."

"Goodnight."

"DAVINA!"

I sat up and was ready to hit someone of waking up from fright. I saw Ginny and my body relax.

"Merlin Ginny! What in Godric's name do you want?" I said grumpily rubbing my temple. "the sun's not even up."

"Nice to know you have a bright side."

"I happen to be enjoying my sleep thank you." I said brushing my messy hair down. "What happened?"

"Ron's been poisoned."

I quickly snap away and got up from my bed and we both got ourselves ready. I put on my stocking, skirt, white button shirt, vest, tie, and tied my hair into a ponytail. And we rushed to the hospital wing. It was still early morning and Harry was already down then.

We went over. Hermione was here on Ron's other side, I was standing beside Harry as Ginny was sitting on one side. Madame Pomfrey was checking on Ron while we were waiting.

"What happened?" I asked my brother.

"Well... first I walked in our room and found Ron sitting by the window looking out in the moon." He started getting me and Ginny's attention. Hermione must've been told the story. "Then Ron admitted to eating these chocolates that were left for me..."

"Let me guess Ron couldn't help himself."

"Yes, he ate most of them and it turned out they had a excessive amount of love potion in them. So I took him to Slughorn and he got him an antidote, then he gave us drink from this bottle, and Ron was the first to drink, but as it turned out it had poison in it."

"Hold up." I said turning to my brother and pulling him back for a moment, Ginny got the idea and went back to her brother. "You're saying that someone gave you chocolates filled with love potion?"

"Surprised."

"Who?"

"Amelinda Vein." His eyes widen as I let out a laugh. "Wait you know?!"

"Dear brother she's been trying the entire school year, just never guess she was so desperate. But I wonder how she was able to smuggle those in into your room" I said laughing which made Hermione and Ginny look at me funny. "Sorry." I stop laughing and calmed myself down.

"I don't really like her." Harry said his eyes glanced quickly over to Ginny who was listening to the conversation even though she was attempting to hide it.

"Well say something about it." Harry look at me and knew who I was talking about. I gave him a small smile and took a step back. "I'm going back to the dorms to get my things for class. I'll see you later."

I walked out and headed to the common room. It was awfully quiet and there wasn't many student's awake at this hour.

Someone grab my arm and turned me into another hall, then I was then pressed against the wall with a hand clamp on my mouth to prevent a scream. My body was tense but then it relax when I saw who it was.

"You have a serious problem with making this a habit." i whispered after taking his hand off my mouth. "Can't you ever come to me as a normal person?"

He didn't answer me just look at me, which had me worried.

"Draco, are you alright?"

"What are you doing up so early?" he asked.

"I came to visit Ron." i told him as he released me and we began walking together. "He was poisoned last night."

"Poisoned?"

My destination was long forgotten as i followed him. He silently grabbed my hand as we walk.

"It's a long story." I said as we walk up these set of stairs. "Short version is Ron accidently took a love potion, that was actually meant for Harry. He took him to Slughorn, who cured him and felt awful so Slugehorn invited to a drink but apparently the bottle was laced with some sort of poison. Harry doubts Slughorn even remembers where he got the bottle, must've had it stored somewhere for a while."

"Must've." He repeated.

There was someone approaching so Draco let go my hand and we put some distance between us. We kept walking upstairs until we turned into a hall and he turned towards me.

"Do you need company?" I asked him.

"I'll be fine." He said as we stood there in silence. "You should go, you have charms in an hour or so if I'm correct." he look dazed and showed little emotion.

"Draco..."

He raised his hand brushed my hair behind my shoulder. "I'll be fine."

And with that he lifted my chin so I would look at him. His thumb brushing against my cheek as he took a step forward, our eyes never leaving each other. It was for a moment then he place a kiss on my forehead and then lead down and connected our lips together. I closed my eyes and kiss him back, my hands placing themselves on his chest. We both pulled back as he took a step back while I stood there while he headed to his destination. I watch him leave then I turned to walk in the opposite way and headed to the common room to grab my things.
