Intro

(A/N) this is my first Harry Potter fan fiction, there may be grammar mistakes etc. and I'll be on those as soon as I can. this is a DracoxOC, if you don't like the character name feel free to insert yourself or a different name.

I don't own Harry Potter, that belongs to J.K. Rowling herself along with the characters she created and the world she built. this was all her creativity and honestly it's amazing.

Anyways I hope you enjoy.

My name is Davina. Davina Lilith Potter. Yes, as in Harry Potter, he's my older brother. Actually he's a year older than I am. And yes he is the more famous, I'm the girl who happened to be his sister.

My brother is currently at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry learning magic and becoming a wizard. It was odd learning that we were wizards, explained my aunt and uncle fuss over when Harry got his letter earlier this year. But him leaving would mean I would stay behind with my aunt and uncle Dursley.

Course he's always writing to me, the wizarding world is fascinating. I wish I could see it too but Uncle Dursley has strong opinions of keeping anything magical out of the house, and our lives. Still, Harry tells me about his new friends and the things they do. Harry would send me books and other things. But what I really enjoyed was seeing Hedwig she a very beautiful white snowy owl.

There was a small tap from the window in the room Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon put me and Harry now (it was Dudley's second room but they thought they could hide us here).  The sad thing is we have to share it. It's mine for now until Harry gets back for the summer. Thankfully Dudley wasn't here either he goes to boarding school, Smellington.

"Hi Hedwig," I said, once I opened the window and began brushing the owl softly.

She chirps as I gently picked her up and carried her inside the room. Luckily uncle Vernon or Aunt Petunia wasn't home otherwise they'd chase poor Hedwig out of their lawn. I think owls have given Uncle Vernon quite a fright in the summer.

I let Hedwig rest on a chair inside and took off the letter and small package that she was carrying. Afterward, I walked back over and closed the window shut so the winter air doesn't freeze the room.

It was almost Christmas and I made something for my brother and his friend Ron. Since they were going to be staying at the school for the holidays.

Ron Weasley was one of the first people Harry met. Actually, it was the Weasley family on the platform 9 and 3/4 when Harry was going to school when they met. I met Mrs. Weasley once, it was at a small-town market she was a nice person, so was Ginny. Ginny and I got along at that moment, that was before Aunt Petunia pulled me away and we came back home.

"Hold on Hedwig, I need you to give something to my brother."

I rushed over to the stationary and pulled out a small box. It wasn't much but Harry and I always gave each other something on Christmas. Usually, we'd do it together, but this time was the first time we've been apart since forever. I was jealous of Harry, he was off far from here and free, whereas the only free place I had was at public school mostly. I had some friends but I mostly kept to myself and went to the library or sit underneath the tree on the school playground.

"Here."

I carefully tied it so it wouldn't fall and so it wasn't tight around her leg. I gave her a few treats before carefully picking her up and walking over to open the window. She chirp once more before taking off and flew back to Hogwarts. I watch from the window as she flew away into the snowy sky.

"Davina!" I heard Aunt Petunia shouted.

Great, they were home.

"Come downstairs immediately!"

I grabbed the small package and letter, stuffing it into a safe box I had in the wardrobe. After tucking it away I rushed down and fix my hair before walking into the kitchen.

"Come on, get lunch ready," she said in an annoyed voice then going to attend to one of our family relatives and a few friends.

Well, distant relatives. They hate us, said Harry and I were snobs and ungrateful for everything Petunia and Vernon had given us with their blessed hearts. When really it's the opposite, but I don't want to start an argument where I'd lose or make the situation worse, so I kept quiet.

I never knew my mom or dad. Harry was lucky enough to get a year to be with them. I never did, not a small memory. We thought our parents had died in a car crash, but apparently, that wasn't the case. A lie that was told by our aunt and uncle.

Our parents were killed by an evil wizard, Voldemort, our mother had given birth to me the day they died. That's what Hagrid said. Apparently, the entire wizarding community knows who Harry is, he's the boy who lived. Still, some were shocked seeing me, saying I looked like my mother. I've met Hagrid. He came to pick up Harry to go to Hogwarts after Uncle Vernon took us to a cabin--he thought would keep Harry hidden from the letters he kept getting. Hagrid was very nice to me, gave me something before he left it was a small leather braided bracelet, with a silver bead at the end. Nothing else. It was simple but meant the world to me.

I immediately went to work on lunch. It was simple, sandwiches and pasta. Nothing different, they kept things low so when Dudley comes back they could do extravagant things for him. He's a special boy in their eyes. I have no harsh feelings towards them, unlike Harry who gets easily frustrated when it comes to them making fun of us. Dudley would always pull on my hair when we were babies, still does. Harry would be the one to get him to stop but then he would get in trouble.

"Where's my tea?"

I grabbed the tray, that I just finished and walked over, placing it on the table.

"Ah right on time," Aunt Petunia said.

"How are you dear?" One of our neighbors close to Aunt Petunia asked me.

I looked at her confused for a bit. I knew that if I slipped up I wasn't going to have dinner tonight.

"I'm well ma'am," I said bowing my head slightly enough to show respect. "You look wonderful today."

"Ah thank you, my dear."

I smiled and took the empty and finished dishes back to the kitchen to wash them.

"Davina," I heard uncle Vernon call me.

I walked over and looked at him.

"I need you to take this to the post immediately. While you're at it..." He reach into his pockets and handed me some money. "Get some groceries." also handed me a list. "Understand?"

"Yes, Uncle Vernon," I said.

I rushed upstairs grabbed a jacket, and put on a pair of boots, and then headed back downstairs. Once I was outside, I ran out into my bike. Well, old bike. It was Dudley's and was small for him but uncle Vernon thought it is better to have it around before eventually giving it to me so I can go out to do errands. I headed to the post first, since it was the furthest, then rode all the way to the store. I grab everything the list said, paid for it, and bike back to the Dursleys.

When I got back I put away all the groceries and handed uncle Vernon the receipt and extra money to assure him I didn't steal any of it.

"Good girl," He said. "Now go help your Aunt."

I nodded and walked over to her, seeing her pick up everything.

"I got it, Aunt Petunia," I said picking everything up.

Yes, they were mean, and yes I hated them for it. But anger is no use right now.

After cleaning up, I headed to my room and went to do my homework. Later at night, I was in bed when I realized I haven't opened Harry's letter. I quickly rushed over, unlocked the secret drawer, and grabbed the package and letter. I saw the seal was a Gryffindor house. there were four houses; Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.

I opened it and began reading the letter.

Dear sister,

Hogwarts has been amazing so far. I do miss you terribly. I'm a seeker for our house's Quidditch game. It's a game with flying broom sticks and it's the best feeling in the world, flying around. And I'm the youngest player in a century!

Ron and Hermione send their greetings, maybe one day you'll meet them. You'll love them they're the best. I know you'll come to Hogwarts next year. Professor McGonagall mention you and is excited to meet you. So is Hagrid.

I'm sorry I won't be going back home for Christmas. I'm sure you'd understand. But I did make you a little something for you, Davina. I hope you like it. Merry Christmas, little sister.

With love,

Harry

My heart broke a little hearing that he wasn't coming home, but I wouldn't come back either. It'd be nice to get away from it. I opened the package and smiled when I saw it. There are pictures of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. What stunned me was when the picture moved, as they were waving and the snow was falling around them. It was a beautiful picture. Hermione wrote me a letter a few times. She is very smart and brave. Something I wish I had that in me.

"Come now, Davina," Uncle Vernon shouted as I rushed down the stairs. "We have to go pick up Dudley from the station."

"Yes, Uncle Vernon," I said.

The Weasley's had sent me a sweater, well Harry did seeing Hedwig was the only owl to get in and out without Vernon and Petunia knowing. I loved it and decided not to push my luck by wearing it in front of them.

We walked out, Aunt Petituna was already waiting at the door for Uncle Vernon. uncle Vernon handed me the house key as we all step out and I locked the door before rushing to sit in the back of the car.  On the way to King Cross station, Uncle Vernon kept warning me not to try anything funny, like he usually does. I only replied with. "Yes, uncle Vernon."

Once we arrived at the station, Uncle Vernon parked the car and got out as Petunia led the way to the platform where Dudley was due to show up. I could see how thrilled Aunt Petunia was to see her son again. I just trailed behind them, getting a trolly for Dudley at Uncle Vernon's insistent.

We were on the platform waiting for Dudley once the train pulled up. I stood there as Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon rushed over and started treating him like a baby, the second he was off the train. Uncle Vernon was handing him a gift as Aunt Petunia hugged him like they have been separated for eons.

I stood there bored when I walk over to move around a bit until someone bumped into me harshly against my shoulder. I looked and saw a boy with platinum blonde hair and was wearing the green Hogwarts wardrobes.

"Watch it Muggle." he scolded.

"I'm sorry," I said rubbing my shoulder.

"You should be."

"I said I was sorry. Besides it wasn't entirely my fault."

"Are you implying I purposely walked into you?"

"Yes... and it's not nice to call people muggles, especially when one might not be one." I slightly shrink back seeing his stare growing colder and held rage. Damn it, I didn't need to get into trouble. "Don't think the Ministry would be quiet please if you were the one to expose your world. Especially when one is Slytherin."

Stop it, Davina!

"And just who do you think you are?"

He was getting angrier.

"Look I'm sorry if I offended you but you don't have to put the entire fault on me. Besides are you seriously going to make me believe you didn't actually do it on purpose? There was room for you to walk around."

He look at me for a moment, then gave me a sly smile. "So who exactly are you?"

"I can't tell you that."

"And why not?"

"Because you're a stranger. And I should be going," I told him walking away.

"Hold on a bloody minute--" he caught my arm, and pulled me back harshly. Which made me look back at him.

"Excuse me, children." We both turned and saw an old man walking up towards us. "Do you know where platform 6 is?"

"No, now leav--"

"You head down to the bridge and make a right," I told him pointing the way cutting the boy off.

"Thank you, Miss."

"Your welcome." And with that, he left.

"Why are you so kind to muggles?"

"Why do you have to be rude and judgemental?"

"What that suppose--?"

"Davina!" Oh someone save me.

I closed my eyes shut and took a deep breath before reopening them as Uncle Vernon walked up and grabbed me by the arm roughly that I held in my urge to wince out in pain.

"There you are! We've been calling you for a whole minute." He scolded me then turned to the boy. "I'm sorry my dear boy, my niece she's sick. I'm so sorry if she's been bothering you." He glared back at me. "It's bad enough we have to deal with you and your brother, I still won't stand for this. Do you understand? You're lucky I'm being generous since Dudley is home." He began to drag me away. "Forgive us." I saw the boy looked slightly concerned for a second then went back to his stone-cold self. "One more foolish act and you won't be going anywhere with your brother next year. We'll send you to a school where they'll straighten you out."

I saw Dudley and his wicked smile.

"Hello, cousin."

This was gonna be bad. Harry wasn't here but I was. Uncle Vernon let me go and Dudley nudged me a bit almost making me fall. We went to the car and I was locked in my room. I had the lights off as I was looking out to the starry cold night sky. I grab paper and began to right write to my brother, I wouldn't be able to send it until his owl got here. All I do is write it helps me take my mind off things even the boy who bumped into me.

~~~~~~~~~
It was now summer which meant, Harry was coming home!!! I was the only one excited, Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia were less so. We were all going to the station but Harry comes much later than Dudley.
 We went to the station and I ran to where Ginny had told me the platform as I saw her and Mrs. Weasley waiting for me. Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon went to go wait for Dudley's train. We through the barrier and waited. The train pulled up and we watch as the students were getting off. I waited until I saw my brother.
"Harry!!" I ran towards him. He saw me and we embraced each other as he slightly pick me up and then placed me back down.
"I missed you, Davina."
I smiled. "I missed you too Harry."
We pulled apart and I saw his friends. "Hermione, Ron, I'd like you to meet my little sister, Davina."
"Pleasure," Hermione said smiling and holding out her hand.
I shook it and looks at Ron as he finished his sweets.
"Nice to meet you." He said with a full mouth that made me giggle.
I help Harry with his things as we walked out. We went through the wall and returned back to the station and saw Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon still here. Waiting.
"Ah, you're here." Uncle Vernon said. "Very well load your things, let's go."
I helped Harry put his trunk in the back. I carried Hedwig and placed her cage on my lap as Harry carried his other things.
Dudley being him, started to pluck out Hedwig feathers. Harry and I tried our best to get him to stop without causing trouble. He finally got tired of it, thankfully, before Hedwig could bite his finger or claw at him. Once we reached the house. Uncle Vernon grabbed his Dudley's things and left me and Harry to get his things.
We carried the things inside and I lead the way to our new room. I set his things down and place Hedwig's cage hanging beside the window. Our bed was the one where you pulled the cabinet underneath and another comes out.
"Did they treat you well?" He asks concerned. "You never mentioned them in the letters."
"I was fine. Except for this one time but I only missed supper once. Promise Harry."
"Alright." He wraps one arm over my shoulders.
"Come on, we should get downstairs."
