Chapter 35.

Cristiano.

"Diana it would be nice if you would stop nagging at me," I mumbled irritably as I tried to paint the wall of the nursery in peace.

"I enjoy it," she shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.

"Man just try to bear with her, I swear she's not this mean all the time." Adam apologized sheepishly as he worked on the wall behind me.

"Adam you sure about that?" Catalina snorted in an unladylike manner.

"Bitch why aren't you at work?" Diana asked, dropping the screw driver she was using to assemble a crib.

"Maternity leave, puta," Lina smirked.

"Did you really give yourself maternity leave?" Adam laughed,"That's something I expect from Diana to be honest."

"Of course, I'm entitled to it. I'm my own boss. And I don't think I could've made it up those hospital steps with an eight months belly," She grimaced.

"Yet you still do your departmental work for UN at home all the time," I butted in.

"That's different. I have the option of working from home and not in Geneva and I took it. They only need to see my face and hear my voice once in a while."

"I'm done with the crib. This thing is so damn long. Why is it so long when you're only having one child?" Diana brushed the seat of her pants as she got up.

"Ummm. Well," Catalina started, a sheepish grin covered her face.

"You didn't tell her? You tell her, Iza and Adelia practically everything," I asked with an increduous laugh.

"We didn't tell anybody Cris," Lina groaned,"Not even our own mothers as yet,"

"Tell me what? What have you've been hiding from me bitch?" Diana glared at the both of us.

"We're not expecting one child," I said giddly. Adam's jaw hit the floor and Diana's eyebrows practically merged in confusion.

"What do you mean not only one child. How many babies are in there Jimena?" Diana asked.

"Three," A smile graced Catalina's face.

Diana's eyes widened to the size of saucers while Adam sat back on the floor and scratched the back of his head, chanting 'triplets' repeatedly.

"Oooh baby girl," Diana hugged Lina tightly,"That's wonderful,"

"You aren't mad at me?" Lina looked surprised.

"Of course not, how could I? This would be perfect," Diana gushed,"You two are good looking, Junior is damn adorable and then three cherubs are on their way. God y'all will be the most beautiful family on this planet,"

"Congrats bro," Adam held out his fist.

"Thanks," I fist bumped him.

"Catalina do you realise that you'll have to push three babies out of you?" Diana asked, as if now remembering where babies come out of.

"Alrighy I don't want to hear this. I'm not listening. Lalalalalalalalalala," Adam comically stuffed his fingers in his ears making Catalina laugh.

"Right, let's not scar Adam today before the party." Diana relented.

"Cris how many people did you really invite?" Lina asked, folding baby clothes and packing them away.

"Your family is coming in this afternoon. Elma is coming in in a few. The boys are coming with their dates, Ricky, Miguel, Marisa, Abdool, Victor, Adelia, Isabella, Mathias, Marisol, Samira, Joel, Charlize, Leo, Anto and Jorge." I tried to count them off on my fingers.

"I don't know why you guys had to make this an all white party," Adam groaned,"I look horrible in white."

"Well I think you look rather dashing in white," Diana kissed him.

"Awww look at that. She's actually being nice," Catalina cooed.

Diana just flipped her off.

.........................................

"Cris!" A feminine voice shouted as I greeted guests at the entrance of the tent.

"Carima, how are you?"I hugged her tightly.

"Well enough. We would've been here sooner only if we didn't lose Josep at the airport." She threw a dirty look in her brother's direction,"Where is my sister? I don't see her down here."

"She is still inside getting ready. Diana wouldn't let me see her," I grumbled.

"Ha, but I'm not you." She grinned,"Catch you guys later. Leya, Sari come."

She pranced off with those two, leaving me with the brothers. Javier gave me a menacing look before breaking down into a fit of laughter and pulling me in.

"You know I'm just playing with you Cris,"Javi chuckled,"I hope things are good over here."

"Things have never been better,"

"I hope my sister isn't giving you too trouble. Pregnant women can get scary at times." He mused.

"Catalina has been pretty mellow throughout these couple of months. I've heard all the talk about heightened hormones and emotional meltdowns but she has been fine."

"You're lucky. Sariena turned into half of a demon while expecting Chrysa, I'm lucky to be alive now."

"Man don't let her hear that or she might finish the job right now," Joachim grinned.

"Yeah you know how long she's been wanting to get back at you," Josep joined in.

"Please do not talk bad about my daughter-in-law boys," A feminine voice spoke up from behind Joachim.

"Mum, it's wonderful to see you," I gave her a kiss on each cheek and she patted my face affectionately.

"You sound surprised to see me Cristiano," she said.

"Catalina said that you might not have come." I replied.

"Oh I could not miss this nor witnessing the birth of my grandchildren no matter how sick I am. And I assure you now Cristiano, I am doing well." She responded in a confident tone.

"It's good to have you here," I said,"Javi could you please stay here and greet the rest of the guests? I want to go and check on Junior."

"Yes yes, run along," he shooed me away from the entrance.

I walked briskly to the house, manuevering my way through the waiters that were setting up the trays for the dinner. I ran upstairs two steps at a time and hurried along the hall to Junior's room.

"Papa, I'm glad you're here. Nana can't fix the tie properly," he hopped off the bed towards me and I scooped him up.

"That's because you wouldn't sit still Junior," Ma laughed at her grandson.

"Ma thank you for coming back on such short notice," I gave her a one armed squeeze and she patted my cheek.

Is that a thing with mothers?

"I would do anything for you and Catalina,"

"Now let me see your tie Junior," I fixed it for him and he beamed at me. He shouted a thank you at me before running out of the room, most likely to find his cousins.

"Ma have you seen Catalina,"

"Oh yes, she is looking radiant I must say."

"I haven't seen her as yet," I pouted.

"Aw they're making you wait? Well I guess I can't help you son," she laughed at me, leaving me in the room by myself.
