2.22. Dance with me

Louis and Harry spent weeks talking and discussing Louis' disorder and his triggers. It wasn't easy though, for Louis to talk about it in detail, but he wanted Harry to be aware of everything, and so he answered all of Harry's questions, wanting to be as open as possible.

In Louis' opinion, that had made their relationship stronger, and so he was happy to have talked it through.

And somehow and without them noticing, June rolled by, which meant longer and sunnier days. Louis had always loved summer the best, there was something about warmer days and the sun in his face that always made him smile.

And with June, Niall and Liam's wedding day arrived. Louis knew that they had started planning their wedding right after New Years, deciding that it was time. And somehow they had managed to plan a massive wedding in 6 months time, and Louis was excited to attend, he hadn't been to a wedding in a long time.

"Lou, I can't pin those flower things into the girls' hair" Harry said as he came to Louis, who was getting dressed in the guest bedroom.

The girls were the flower girls, because Liam and Niall both only had nephews, and to say the twins were excited about their roles would have been an understatement.

"I told you I'd do it" Louis told him.

"I wanted to try" Harry pouted.

Harry was really great at ponytails, half pony tails, buns, even pigtails, but when it came to braiding or doing anything more elaborate, he was a disaster. And as flower girls, the twins had special dresses to wear, and they also needed to wear little flower pieces in their hair.

"It's okay, babe, just give me a sec" Louis replied.

"Okay, thanks" Harry said, and he just stayed there looking at Louis.

"What?" Louis asked.

"I just realized I've never seen you in a suit before" Harry told him.

"I haven't put on the jacket jet" Louis reasoned.

"Yeah, but you already look so handsome, love" Harry smiled.

Louis finished putting on his tie, and walked up to Harry and kissed his lips.

"Thank you" Louis told him "You look very handsome too".

Harry smiled, and very confidently put his arm around Louis' waist, and brought him close again to give him another kiss. And this time Harry used his tongue, which Louis didn't mind at all, he lived for Harry's kisses.

"Will you come back here with me after the wedding?" Harry wondered "Because I really want to be the one to take these clothes off of you".

"I'll think about it" Louis replied, even though he knew he would.

Harry gave Louis another kiss, and then brought him to the girls, so he could do their hair in the bathroom.

Both girls had long strawberry blond hair, which fell down in soft waves. Louis knew very well that they took after their mum when it came to it, because Valerie's hair used to be exactly like that, Louis always remembered thinking how beautiful her hair was. Even on the pictures of Valerie that were in the girls' room, it was clear how beautiful and shiny her hair always was.

"How do you know how to do that?" Harry wondered as he watched Louis work on Quinn's hair, he was doing a braided half up do with little white flower as decorations "Did you ever work as a hair stylist?".

"No" Louis denied "I just learnt watching YouTube videos".

"You're so talented with you hands" Harry said while he kept his eyes on Louis' hands.

Louis' mind went where it shouldn't have gone, and he had to stifle a laugh.

"I meant because of the piano and-" Harry started, realizing why Louis was laughing.

"I know" Louis chuckled.

"Louis, I want my hair like Quinn's" Willa told him.

"Yes, darling, don't worry" Louis smiled at her.

Both girls were already wearing their flower girl dresses, which were identical and they looked adorable in them.

"I don't want it to be the same" Quinn protested.

Willa made a little sad noise, like a puppy.

"Why not, Quinny?" Harry asked Quinn.

"Cause I don't wanna be the same" Quinn said determinately.

"I can make it similar but not identical" Louis proposed.

"No!" Willa refused "I want the same!".

"No!" Quinn exclaimed as she turned to look at her sister, making Louis mess up what he was doing on her hair "Don't copy me!".

"Okay, calm down you two" Harry told them very seriously "You know you can't shout like that, not to each other or to other people".

"But daddy I don't like that she's copying me" Quinn told him.

And that's when Willa started to cry, and Louis was surprised to see that Quinn literally rolled her eyes.

"Why are you crying, bear?" Harry asked as he picked her up.

Willa sobbed and hugged Harry's neck, so he walked out of there with the girl to calm her down.

"Let me finish with your hair, okay, darling?" Louis said to Quinn.

"But don't do the same to Willa's hair" Quinn insisted, but let Louis go back to work on her own.

"Why don't you want her hair to look the same as yours?" Louis asked her.

"Cause I don't want to" Quinn replied determinately.

Louis didn't say anything else, he didn't think it was his place to meddle in whatever was going on, that was Harry's territory, he was just his boyfriend, not the girls parent.

"Alright, you're done" Louis said when he finished 5 minutes later.

"Thank you" Quinn replied sweetly.

"No problem, Quinny" Louis said to her "Why don't you go play in your room?".

Quinn nodded, and Louis went out of the bathroom and to Harry's room, where Harry was sitting on the bed holding Willa on his lap.

"Is she okay?" Louis whispered.

"Yeah, she's okay" Harry smiled "Right, baby bear?".

Willa lifted her head and nodded while she rubbed her eyes.

"Can Louis do your hair now?" Harry asked her.

"Yeah..." Willa said in her little voice.

"Okay, go with him" Harry instructed as he put her down.

Louis outstretched his hand to her, which she held, and Louis felt sad to see her little face was all red.

"How should I do her hair?" Louis asked unsure.

"Just do it like Quinn's" Harry replied "I'm gonna talk to her, where is she?".

"Her room" Louis replied.

"Okay" Harry agreed.

Louis took Willa to the bathroom, and helped her wash her face first, and then he set out to work, always making sure that Willa was okay. And although she wasn't smiling, she didn't seem as sad as before, which he took as a win.

When he finished, Louis told Willa she looked beautiful, and he took her back to her room, because she still needed to put on her special flower girl shoes.

Harry was sitting on the rug with Quinn, and when he saw Louis and Willa, he called Willa over, and she sat on the floor too.

"You're twin sisters, and that's very special, it means that you were born with a best friend that will always be there for you, and that will always love you" Harry explained to his daughters "Because you love each other, don't you?".

Both girls nodded as they looked at their dad.

"Why don't you say that and give each other a hug?" Harry asked them.

"I love you, Quinn" Willa told her sister.

"I love you" Quinn said back, and gave her sister a cute hug, which made Louis smile.

"Good job" Harry praised them "Now we have to go, we can't be late".

"They need their shoes" Louis said going up to the closet to get them.

They helped the girls put those on, and they told them to wait downstairs while they went to get their suit jackets.

"Hey, I'm sorry about all this hair drama" Harry told him before they went downstairs.

"Don't worry about it" Louis brushed off "But you did a great job handling it".

"You think? I always think I could've handled it better" Harry confessed.

"No, you were great" Louis assured him.

"Each time they have one of those fights, I get a little more scared for their teenage years" Harry sighed.

"I'm not going to lie and tell you it will be easy" Louis said apologetically.

"Oh god" Harry sighed "Will you at least be there for me to tell me I'm doing a good job?".

"You'll still want me then?" Louis smiled.

"I'll always want you" Harry told him, and pecked his lips "Always".

"Daddy! Quinn pushed me!" Willa yelled from downstairs.

"These girls are going to be the death of me" Harry sighed again, and started going down the stairs "What did I say 5 minutes ago about fighting?".

Louis felt amused as he following his boyfriend down the stairs, and it seemed the fight wasn't as bad as before, because Harry got them to stop, and the four of them got in the car peacefully.

The wedding venue was in the countryside, about 30 minutes away driving, and it was in the gardens of a beautiful manor that functioned as a wedding venue. Apparently they had only been able to get it on short notice because another couple had canceled their wedding.

Once they got there, everything was pretty hectic, and before he knew it, Harry and Louis were on their seats watching the girls walk down the aisle with a little basket with petals each.

"They look so cute" Louis whispered to Harry.

"I know" Harry said as he took a picture of them.

The girls were followed down the aisle by Liam's nephew who was the ring bearer, and then the grooms walked down the aisle with their mothers, first Niall and then Liam.

At that point though, the girls had circled around and had come to sit with them, which was a good thing, as they knew they wouldn't be able to stand in the front throughout the ceremony.

But even though it was a bit long, the ceremony was lovely, and it felt amazing to see Niall and Liam getting married, specially after so many years that they had been together.

After the ceremony, everyone esas directed towards the cocktails area, where Quinn quickly found some other kids to play with, and took Willa along with her.

"Harry!" someone suddenly called.

Both Harry and Louis turned in the direction of the person who had called Harry's name, and they saw a man approaching them, one that looked very familiar, and when he got to them Louis remembered he was one of Harry's friends from Manchester, and if he remembered correctly, he used to live in the same dorm building as Harry.

"Hey Chris! It's been so long" Harry said happily, and gave him a hug.

"I know, mate" Chris replied, but he then suddenly looked serious "I was so sorry to hear about Valerie".

"Thank you" Harry replied.

"She was always so lovely, and fun to be around" Chris told Harry "But your daughters look just like her, don't they? I saw them walking down the aisle and I just knew they were your twins".

"Yeah, they do look a lot like her" Harry admitted, and then changed the subject "Uhm... do you remember Louis?".

"Oh..." Chris said, as if only now he was seeing him, and he offered his hand "Yes, I do remember you, Louis, how are you?".

"I'm good, thank you" Louis said as he shook his hand "How are you?".

"I'm great, thanks for asking" Chris replied, and kept looking between them, but then focused on Louis again "I had no idea you had kept being friends with Niall and Liam all these years".

"I didn't" Louis denied.

"Louis' my boyfriend" Harry decided to point out.

"Ohh" Chris said in realization.

"Yes, we got back together at the end of last year" Harry explained "I had no idea he had been living in Brighton when I moved here, but we bumped into each other, and been together ever since".

"Wow, that's... great" Chris told them, and Louis could still hear the surprise in his voice... and something else.

"What about you? Are you still in Leeds?" Harry wondered.

"Louis!" Willa said as she ran to him.

"What is it, love?" Louis asked, and he noticed she was a little restless "Do you wanna go potty?".

Willa nodded.

Louis told Harry and Chris that they would be right back, and held Willa's hand as they went to find the toilets. And to be quite honest, he felt relieved to be out of there, he had felt judged by Harry's friend, and he didn't like it one bit.

After Willa was done with the toilet, he went to find Quinn and asked if she wanted to go too, but she claimed she didn't, so he left Willa to play with her sister and the other kids, and Louis went back to Harry.

"Thanks for taking Willa to the toilet" Harry said handing him a glass of champagne.

"No problem" Louis said as he took the champagne "What happened to your friend?".

"He's not really my friend, I hadn't seen him in years, he's more like an acquaintance" Harry replied "And he went to talk to other people".

"Good, because I felt kind of judged by him" Louis confessed, not wanting to keep secrets from his boyfriend.

"Oh, he definitely judged us".

"Did he say something?" Louis asked surprised.

"Yes" Harry replied, and took a sip from his glass.

"Well? What did he say?" Louis questioned.

"He commented on how fast I moved on from Valerie" Harry explained.

"And what did you say to him?".

"That it was none of his business, and then I left" Harry shrugged.

"Hmm" Louis hummed.

"Don't worry about it, he's no one" Harry assured him.

Louis nodded, but he kept thinking about it throughout the rest of the cocktail, then when they sat down to eat, and even when Harry basically dragged him to the dance floor.

"Are you alright?" Harry asked while they danced to a slow song.

"Yeah" Louis replied "Just a bit tired, can we take a break from dancing?".

"Of course" Harry said, and kissed Louis' cheek.

They went back to their table, which was very close to the dance floor, so all the time they had been able to keep an eye on the girls, who they had left there eating candy.

"Daddy, can we dance?" Quinn asked with a cute smile.

"You wanna dance with me?" Harry grinned.

Quinn nodded eagerly.

"How about you, bear?" Harry asked his other daughter.

"Yeah" Willa nodded.

"Alright, let's go dance" Harry told his girls.

Louis watched them fondly as they got to the dance floor and started dancing, as the song had changed for something more upbeat.

"Hey, Lou" Niall said, and sat down

"Hey, Niall" Louis smiled, they had already greeted him and Liam and congratulated them earlier, but they hadn't had much time to talk "Congratulations again, everything's been so lovely".

"Thanks" Niall said as she ate some of the candy that was on the table "It's just been so exhausting, no one told me getting married would be so tiring".

"I bet it has been, I'm not the one who got married and I'm exhausted too" Louis replied, his eyes going to Harry and the girls "I don't know how the girls have so much energy still, they've been running around all day".

"Maybe it's all the candy?" Niall smiled.

"Probably" Louis agreed.

"They did great as flower girls, so they deserve all the candy" Niall considered.

"I know, right? They look so cute" Louis smiled.

"Those two usually give me baby fever, but today they tripled it".

"You wanna have a baby?" Louis asked curiously.

"Yeah? Maybe? We're not sure" Niall considered "We started talking about it recently, and then we decided we might as well get married before taking that step, but... I don't know, it's a big decision, especially for me, I'm the one who's going to be pregnant".

"Does getting pregnant scare you?" Louis wondered.

"A little, but I'm more scared of the responsibility of being a parent, what it all means, what I have to give up..." Niall considered "I don't even know if I'd be good at it".

"I think you'd be a great parent" Louis said sincerely, and then looked back at his boyfriend on the dance floor "Like Harry, I always knew he would be a great dad, and look at him now".

"Oh my god, Louis, I'm sorry, every time I drink I can't keep my mouth shut, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it" Niall said apologetically.

"Why are you apologizing?" Louis asked confused.

"Because I've been babbling about getting pregnant and having a baby, when you lost Landon" Niall said softly.

"It's been 10 years Niall, I can talk about babies, it's okay" Louis assured him.

"Yeah?".

"Yes" Louis confirmed "If it wasn't, I wouldn't be able to work with small children every day, but I do".

"Okay..." Niall accepted.

"And although I never got to be a parent to Landon, I was pregnant for 6 months, so if you ever want to talk about how that is like, let me know" Louis offered.

"That's so kind, Louis, thank you" Niall smiled, and looked over Louis' shoulder "Liam's calling me over, but maybe we can have a chat when I came back from my honeymoon?".

"Sure" Louis agreed.

"Thank you" Niall said, gave Louis a quick hug and left.

Louis watched as Niall went over to Liam, gave him a kiss, and then they both hit the dance floor, and he couldn't help but think how amazing it was that they had been together for over 10 continuous years, and still loved each other so much.

Harry came back to the table with his kids about 20 minutes later, claiming to be exhausted, and soon enough the girls started to complain about their shoes, and just being very whiny overall, which was a sign that they were tired, so they knew it was time to go home.

So they said goodbye to the grooms, and thanked them for an amazing party, and headed back to Harry's house. By the time they got there, the twins were already asleep, so they changed them out of their fluffy dresses, put them to bed, and then went to Harry's bedroom.

And, as Harry had requested that morning, he was allowed to take Louis' suit off of him.

"Can I ask you something I've been thinking all day?" Louis wondered as they laid in bed together.

"Of course" Harry smiled

"Do you think that when the girls are older, and they realize how fast you and I got together after their mum passed, they will be mad at me?" Louis questioned.

"I wish I had the answer for that, but I don't, I don't know what they will think when they grow up" Harry sighed "But I think that if they get angry at someone, it will be at me, I'm the one who moved on from their mum".

"But you moved on with me".

"Yes, but they love you so much" Harry said, and turned to his side, and Louis could see his face better "I'm serious, Lou, the girls love you like crazy, every time you're not with us they ask about you, and they don't stop until you get here, and they're always so happy to see you".

"I love them too" Louis said truthfully.

"Even when they throw tantrums and they cry?".

"Yes" Louis chuckled "Even then".

Harry leaned in for a kiss, and Louis closed the distance until their lips were touching.

"I'm gonna go to the guest bedroom" Louis announced.

"Noo" Harry pouted.

"I'm tired, I'm about to fall asleep" Louis replied.

"Then sleep here with me" Harry begged.

"No" Louis chuckled, and got up.

"You're the worst, Louis Tomlinson".

"Excuse me, but I just had sex with you" Louis reminded him as he put on his boxers.

"But you robbed me of spooning time" Harry pointed.

"Just go to sleep" Louis told him "I'll see you in the morning, I love you".

"I love you too" Harry replied, but he still sounded grumpy.

So Louis went to give him another kiss, and after collecting all of this clothes, he left for the guest room, where he had left a bag earlier, he changed into pajamas, and got in bed feeling exhausted, but overall happy.
