2.31. Chased by... I don't know what

"I can't believe I'm married" Louis said as he looked at his wedding band.

"We're married" Harry pointed out.

They had just finished taking pictures in the garden after the ceremony, and now they were supposed to go join the party.

"I know" Louis grinned.

"Are you happy?" Harry wondered.

"Very happy" Louis confirmed.

"So no regrets?" Harry asked.

"Not even one".

The wedding was amazing overall, the food was delicious, the music was perfect, and they danced until their feet hurt. So in the end Louis was happy that they ended up going though with it, and that Harry had pushed for a proper wedding celebration because he knew that he would have those memories to cherish forever.

They spent their wedding night alone at a hotel, while Harry's mum and step dad stayed at home with the girls and Roxy. Then the next morning they went by the house to say goodbye to the girls, and they took a flight to go on their honeymoon.

They went to Mauritius, which was an amazing island of the southeast coast of Africa, which was probably a little extravagant, but Louis could afford it, and he wanted to do something special for Harry. Besides, it had amazing weather in October, so they spent most of their time in the beach, at least all the time that they didn't spent in the bedroom.

It was truthfully a dream come true to spend those days alone with Harry in paradise, but eventually they had to burst their honeymoon bubble and go back home.

But Louis was still happy to go back, he missed the twins, and he was excited about starting his new life as Harry's husband, and also about the plans they had for the future.

They made it back home just in time for Halloween, so they took the girls trick or treating around their neighborhood, but then had to deal with them being too hyperactive from eating too much sugar, but it was fine, Louis was always happy to see them happy.

But then with November, a decision Louis had made before the wedding arrived: his appointment with his psychiatrist in which he was going to switch his pills.

"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you to London this afternoon?" Harry asked that Monday while Harry made breakfast and Louis packed the girls' lunches "I'm sure I can get the afternoon off at work, and Andrea can pick up the girls at school".

"Baby, I'm sure" Louis smiled "Nothing will happen today, he'll just explain everything about the new pills, and then give me the prescription, but I won't start actually taking the new pills today".

"I just don't want you to feel like you're alone in this, because you're doing this for us, for our family, and I'm here for you" Harry insisted.

"I know you're here for me, you don't need to prove it" Louis smiled "I'll go on my own and I'll tell you about it when I come home this evening".

"Okay" Harry sighed "But if you change your mind throughout the morning, let me know".

"I promise I will tell you" Louis assured okay.

Harry accepted that, and they continued their morning routine as normal, which meant that after they left the house Harry dropped off the girls at school and Louis at the preschool for work.

Normally on Mondays Louis had therapy, but he had moved it to Thursday in order to go to London today to his psychiatrist appointment, which he made it to just in time. The appointment went well, and Louis took note of everything that the doctor said, for one thing because he wanted to remember everything, but also because he knew Harry was going to have a lot of questions.

"How did it go?" Harry asked the moment Louis opened the door of the house that evening.

"Hi, babe, don't I get a kiss first?" Louis asked as he took off his coat.

"Sorry, love" Harry said and pecked his lips "But how did it go with your doctor?".

"He changed only one of my pills today" Louis explained "He says he wants to see how I react to that change, and if after a month it's all okay then he'll change the other one".

"Sounds reasonable" Harry nodded "When are you starting?".

"Wednesday, I have to pick up the new pills tomorrow afternoon" Louis explained.

"Louis!" Quinn said as she came running up to him, she had her left arm up clearly trying to show it to him, and he noticed she had a big dressing on it.

"What happened to your arm?" Louis asked as he bent down to her level.

"I fell at school" Quinn pouted.

"Oh no, my poor baby" Louis said feeling worried "Does it hurt?".

"Yeah" Quinn nodded.

Louis picked her up and gave her a cuddle, but she got over it pretty fast, so Louis put her down and she went back to play with Willa.

"Did the school call you to let you know she fell and got hurt?" Louis questioned.

"Yeah, but they said it was just a scrape and that she was fine, so I knew there was nothing to worry about" Harry explained.

"I wish you had told me" Louis said.

"I thought about it, but I didn't want to bother you today, not with your visit to your doctor".

"You should've told me anyway, I know I'm just their step mum, but I love them and I want to know what goes on with them" Louis explained.

"You're not just a step mum, you're their parent, and you're right, I should've told you" Harry agreed.

"Thank you" Louis said, and kissed his lips "Should we have dinner?".

"Yes, I was just going to start cooking" Harry declared.

The next day, Louis went to pick up his new prescription as soon as he left work at the preschool, then he had lunch, picked up the twins from school, dropped them off at home with their nanny, and then went to teach his private piano lessons.

By the time he arrived back home, Harry was already there, and he was serving dinner, and although Louis had started to get nervous at that point, he tried not to let it show for the sake of the girls.

But apparently Harry knew him too well by now, because as soon as the girls were asleep he asked Louis if he was nervous about switching the pills tomorrow.

"Yes" Louis said truthfully.

"I think It's normal" Harry pointed out.

"I know" Louis said and took a deep breath "And I want to do this, I'm sure, but...".

"Tell me" Harry encouraged him.

"For the past few years, I've been able to tell every time my BPD gets out of hand, so I always know I need to do something about it, but before... before I never realized until it was too late, so I want to ask you that if at any point you notice that I'm acting strange, or if I do stuff that seem off, please tell me" Louis begged.

"I promise I will" Harry said as he put his arms around it "But I bet everything will be okay".

"I hope so" Louis sighed.

So the following morning, when the time came for Louis to take his pills, he took the new one (besides his other normal pills). Of course nothing different happened when he took it, and nothing happened during the rest of the day, but he had expected that, the doctor had told him nothing would happen on the first day.

On Thursday, Louis took the new pill again, but again he felt normal for the rest of the day, and it gave him hope that things would keep like that, and his body wouldn't even feel the difference.

But of course he was wrong, and he realized that on Friday, right around the time he was packing up his things to go home after work, because he suddenly got dizzy. He knew it was a side effect from the new pills, the doctor had told him that many patients experienced dizzy spells during the first couple of weeks of taking those pills, but that it usually went away.

Still, it wasn't pleasant, so he sat down waiting for the dizziness to fade, and he was at it when his phone rang.

"Hey" Louis picked up, knowing it was Harry.

"Hey, where are you?" Harry wondered.

On Fridays the girls got off school at lunch time, so Louis usually walked there so Harry could pick them all up at once.

"Still at the preschool, I'll be right there" Louis told his husband.

"Okay, babe" Harry replied.

Louis took a deep breath, and although he was still a bit dizzy, he got up, grabbed his stuff, and left his classroom and then the building, and walked up to the school.

He found Harry and the girls already in the car, so he just got into the passenger seat, and said hello to Harry and the girls.

"Are you okay?" Harry asked as he drove away.

"Yeah" Louis nodded, because being seated made him feel fine.

During the short car ride home, they just listened to the girls singing along the Disney playlist Harry put on, and by the time they arrived Louis felt almost normal, which he was grateful for.

"Louis, we're going to Manchester!" Quinn announced once they were eating lunch together.

"I know, love" Louis said and smiled "Are you excited to see everyone?".

Valerie's death anniversary was tomorrow, so Harry and the girls were going up north for the weekend to visit her grave with Valerie's family, they were actually leaving in a few hours. Harry had asked Louis to go with them, but considering the reason of the trip, he decided not to go and stay home.

"Yeah" Quinn nodded.

"Are you excited too, Willa?" Louis asked the other twin.

"No" Willa shook her head.

"Why aren't you excited? You're going to see grandma and grandpa, and also your nonna and nonno, and your uncles and cousins..." Louis explained.

"I don't wanna go to the place that makes me sad" Willa mumbled.

"You mean the place where we visit mummy?" Harry asked his daughter.

"Yeah" Willa said in a little voice "It's cold and everyone cries, daddy, it makes me sad".

"You know, it's okay to be sad sometimes, little bear" Harry explained "And it's good for you to visit mummy".

"But mummy's not there, you said she's in heaven" Willa argued.

"She is in heaven, but we can't visit her there, that's why we visit her at the cemetery" Harry explained softy.

"I don't wanna go" Willa declared stubbornly.

Harry looked at Louis, and Louis didn't really know what was the right thing to do, it was a very complicated situation.

"Let's just eat, okay? We can figure it out later" Louis decided, because he decided the best thing was to do was give Willa some space.

After dinner, Louis stayed downstairs to do the dishes, and Harry went upstairs to pack his and the girls things, and around 4 he had everything loaded in the car, being ready to leave with his daughters.

"I don't wanna go" Willa said when Harry told her and Quinn that they were leaving.

"We're just going to grandma's house today, and tomorrow we'll see how you feel about visiting mummy" Harry explained.

"No" Willa refused.

"Willa, come on, love" Harry said, evidently frustrated "This is important, we have to go".

Louis knew this trip wasn't fun for Harry, he was mostly doing it for his daughters.

"No" Willa insisted.

Harry sighed, and rubbed his eyes with his hand, and then he looked at Louis again, searching for answers.

"Willa..." Louis spoke to her softly "Do you think your mummy would want you to go visit her?".

"She's not there" Willa murmured.

"I know that, she's in heaven like daddy said, but all your family wants to go remember her together" Louis explained "And that's a nice thing to do, to get together and remember the people we love that went to heaven".

Willa didn't say anything, but then she lifted her arms, so Louis picked her up in his arms, and rubbed her back for a little while.

"Will you go to Manchester with daddy and Quinny?" Louis wondered.

"No" Quinn replied "I wanna stay with you".

Louis sighed, now feeling Harry's frustration too. He kissed Willa's head, then put her down, and him and Harry went to talk in private to make a decision.

"I don't want to force her to go, it's not like her not wanting to go to school" Harry explained.

"I know" Louis nodded.

"Maybe non of us should go" Harry considered.

"That would be unfair for Quinn, she wants to go" Louis pointed out.

"I know, but..." Harry sighed "I don't know if it's right to let her stay, bedsides I don't want to burden you".

"It's not a burden at all, I'll be happy to take care of her if you decide to let her stay" Louis told him.

"I feel like she's too young to decide, and if she doesn't go now it's going to turn into a pattern, and I don't want her to look back in the future and regret not going to her mum's anniversaries" Harry explained.

"It doesn't have to turn into a pattern, it could be a one time thing" Louis considered.

"So you think she should stay?" Harry questioned.

"I think neither option is wrong" Louis replied.

Harry sighed again, and passed her hand across his hair, which was something he always did when he was frustrated.

"If I don't take her, I will never hear the end of it from Valerie's parents" Harry considered.

"Do what you feel is right for Willa, not what's right for them" Louis advised.

"I need to make sure that she knows what she's asking" Harry declared, and went back to the girls.

Louis followed him, and saw Harry pick up Willa in his arms to talk to her.

"Do you really want to stay with Louis this weekend?" Harry asked his daughter.

"Yeah" Willa nodded.

"If you decide this now you can't change your mind" Harry warned her, and Willa nodded "I'm leaving now with Quinn, and it's a long drive to grandma's, that means I can't come back to get you after we leave, not today or tomorrow, do you understand?".

Willa stared at him for a few seconds, and then nodded. Then it was Harry's chance to stare, and Louis could see in his eyes how conflicted he was.

"Okay, bear" Harry finally decided, and hugged her tightly "You can stay with Louis".

And so, Harry unloaded Willa's backpack from the car, made sure again that this is what Willa wanted, and when she said yes, they all said goodbye to one another, and Harry left with Quinn.

As soon as they left, Louis made sure to check if Willa was still okay with her decision, and she appeared to be. So they went upstairs and did some coloring together, then they played dolls, had dinner, and finally Louis got the little girl ready for bed, and read her a bedtime story.

"Goodnight, Willa, I love you" Louis said and kissed her forehead.

"Love you" Willa said back.

"Do you wanna say goodnight to your mummy?" Louis asked, showing her the picture of Valerie that was on the nightstand between the twins' beds.

"Goodnight, mummy" Willa mumbled.

"Good girl" Louis smiled, and made sure that she was properly tucked in.

"Louis?" Willa asked just as Louis was going to leave the room.

"Yes?".

"Why did my mummy go to heaven?" Willa wondered.

This wasn't the first time Willa (or Quinn) asked this question, he had heard them ask Harry many times, so he knew what he always said to them when they asked.

"Because mummy died, and that's what happens when people die, they go to heaven" Louis said softly as he sat on the bed with the girl.

"But what does it mean?" Willa questioned.

"When people die it means that their body doesn't work anymore, that's why they go to heaven, because they don't need their bodies there" Louis explained; he had heard Harry giving an explanation more or less like this one, but he didn't quite remember the exact words.

"So they can't come back?" Willa wondered.

"No, when people die they go to heaven forever" Louis explained.

Willa looked at him with sad eyes, and Louis could have cried right there.

"You know when I was just a little older than you are right now, my daddy went to heaven" Louis explained, this was obviously outside of Harry's normal script to the girls, but he felt like it was okay "So I understand why you get sad about your mummy not being here anymore, and it's okay to be sad sometimes, it means that you loved your mummy so much that you miss her".

"Yeah" Willa nodded.

"She was a good mummy, huh?".

"I don't know" Willa mumbled "I don't remember".

Louis' eyes filled with tears, because it made sense that she didn't remember much, she hadn't even been 3 when Valerie died.

"It's okay not to remember everything, that's why you have daddy and all your mummy's side of the family to tell you about her" Louis explained as he stroked her face softly.

Willa nodded.

"Do you have more questions?" Louis asked her.

"Yeah" Willa said in a little voice.

"Ask me".

"Can I go see my mummy?" Willa asked shyly.

"To Manchester?" Louis wanted to make sure.

Willa nodded.

"Oh, sweetheart" Louis said and looked at the time "Your daddy and Quinn must be getting there already".

Willa pouted, and Louis cursed himself, he should've known this would happen, he should've told Harry to take Willa with him.

"I'll try to figure it out, okay?" Louis proposed.

Willa nodded once more, and Louis kissed her forehead, said goodnight again, and left her room, leaving the door ajar.

Then he went into his own room and tried to think what to do. He couldn't drive Willa to Manchester, he didn't have a car, and even he rented one, he couldn't drive, his license had been expired for a few years and he never renew it.

Maybe they could take a train early in the morning?

Louis decided he needed to ask Harry, because he needed to have a say in the decision. So he texted him, not wanting to distract him with a call in case he was still driving.

To Harry: Hey! Did you get to your mum's already? Let me know! I love you ❤️

The answer came in the form of a call around an hour later, in which Harry explained they had just made it to his mum's.

"How did Quinny do in the backseat alone?" Louis asked.

"She did alright, she talked my ear off the first hour and a half, then we stopped for a bathroom break and to get something to eat, and she fell asleep when we got back in the car"  Harry explained "How about my Willa bear?".

"Uhm... she was fine when you left, but then we had a talk while I was putting her to bed, and long story short, she wants to go to Manchester" Louis announced.

"Oh my god, I knew it, I knew I should've brought her" Harry sighed.

"I'm sorry, I feel like I pushed for her to stay, and it was a mistake" Louis told his husband.

"It's not your fault" Harry told him.

"Still, if it's okay with you, I could bring her to Manchester tomorrow morning" Louis offered "I checked the train schedules, we can be in Manchester at 11:30 if we take the train at 7".

"Lou, that's crazy, you would have to wake up at the crack of dawn".

"I don't mind" Louis replied.

Harry sighed, and Louis could hear his frustration through the phone.

"I don't know, I think this might be a good opportunity to teach her a lesson on the fact that decisions have consequences" Harry considered.

"Harry, she's not even 5 yet, and it's her mum's death anniversary" Louis reminded him.

"You really don't mind bringing her?" Harry questioned.

"I don't mind at all" Louis replied.

"Okay" Harry agreed "We're meeting Valerie's family at the cemetery at noon, so I'll pick you up at the strain station and we can drive from there".

"Actually, you just take Willa, and I'll take a train to your mum's, if that's okay with her" Louis proposed.

"Of course that's okay" Harry agreed "You're the best husband, did you know that?".

"No, you're better" Louis smiled, even though Harry couldn't see him "I should go to bed now, I have to wake up early tomorrow".

"Okay, I love you so much, Lou" Harry told him.

"I love you too" Louis replied.

They ended the call, and Louis right away bought the train tickets online, then decided to leave his bag packed for tomorrow, then went downstairs, left a bag of snacks packed to bring on the train, and then got ready for bed.

His alarm went off at 5:30 the next morning, and although he didn't want to get up at all, he forced himself to, and took a very quick shower which helped wake him up. Then he went downstairs, took Roxy out quickly, fed her, then he went to get Willa up, which was a struggle, but he got her dressed in a nice outfit, and decided he could do her hair on the train, so he just tied it up in a bun, grabbed her packed backpack from the night before, then grabbed his things and the snacks, and by 6:30 they were out of the house and in an Uber.

They made it to the train station with 10 minutes to spare, and as soon as they got on the train and found their seats, Willa fell asleep with her head on Louis' lap. So Louis took that moment to text his nan to ask her to please take care of Roxy while he was gone (she had keys to the house), then he ate some of the snacks and took his pills, because he wasn't supposed to take them with an empty stomach.

They had to change trains in London, so Louis had to wake up Willa, and once they were in their second train, Willa stayed awake, so Louis gave her a milk box, some apple slices and some cookies, which wasn't what she usually had for breakfast, but he thought it would do.

"When are we getting there?" Willa asked when she finished eating.

"In..." Louis said and looked at his watch "An hour and a half".

"Is daddy mad?" Willa wondered.

"No, why would he be mad?".

"Because he say I can't change my mind" Willa explained.

"He's not mad, he's happy that he's going to see you" Louis explained "Now, should we kill time by doing your hair pretty?".

Willa agreed, and Louis took the brush out and braided her in two French braids, which was what Willa liked the most. But that didn't take much time, but Willa kept herself busy with her doll for the rest of the trip.

Louis hadn't been in the train station in Manchester in a decade, but he still remember his way around it, and quickly found the spot where Harry had told him to meet, and found him already there.

Willa ran to his father's arms, and Louis give Quinn a hug, and then he kissed Harry on the lips to say hello.

"Thank you for bringing Willa" Harry said when their lips broke.

"No problem" Louis smiled "I'll see you back at your mum's, okay?".

"Yes" Harry said.

Louis bent down to take the bag he had left on the floor when he greeted Quinn, but as he got up he felt dizzy and almost lost his footing, but Harry held his arm.

"Are you okay?" Harry asked worried.

"Yeah, just a dizzy spell" Louis brushed off.

"What?".

"It's a side effect of the new pills" Louis whispered "I told you the doctor said it could happen".

"But you didn't tell me it was happening" Harry pointed out.

"With everything that happened yesterday, I forgot" Louis said, and took a deep breath, but the dizziness was still there "I'll just sit for a while until it passes".

"No, I'm not leaving you like this" Harry shook his head "You're coming with me, you can wait in the car if you want".

Louis bit his lip; he knew that he wasn't going to be able to convince Harry to leave him, and he didn't want them to be late, so he agreed, but he did decide he would stay in the car the whole time.

Harry drove the four of them to the cemetery, and as he had expected, by the time they arrived Louis' dizzy spell was almost gone, which was a relief.

But the problem was that Willa didn't want Louis to wait in the car, she wanted him to come with her, but he knew he couldn't, there was no way.

"Listen, baby, I have to stay here, but I'll see you soon" Louis assured her.

"Noo" Willa shook her head.

"Just go with daddy and Quinny" Louis insisted.

Harry picked her, because she was visibly upset, and Louis knew it wasn't because he was staying in the car, she was just overwhelmed about the whole situation. The girl wrapped her arms around her dad's neck, and Harry left with her and Quinn walking next to them.

Louis felt relieved that he had been able to wait in the car, knowing that Valerie's parents hated him, especially after they said he was a home wrecker. So he went on his phone, and answered a text to his nan in which she had said she had gone to check on Roxy, then he started making a list of groceries they needed to get once they were back, when there was suddenly a knock on the car's window.

Louis looked up from his phone, and saw Valerie's mother there, Angelina, and she looked angry. Louis just stared at her, and she made a signal for him to roll down the window, and he stupidly did.

"What are you doing here?" Angelina demanded.

"I'm just waiting for Harry and the girls" Louis replied calmly.

"Do you understand how disrespectful it is that you came here today? Today of all days, on my daughters anniversary you decide to show your face here? Why? Why would you do that? Did you want to rub it in our faces that Harry moved on from my daughter?" Angelina questioned in a very rude way.

"I'm just sitting in the car waiting for my husband" Louis said not wanting to go off on this woman.

"Oh, right, your husband" Angelina said and shook her head "Isn't it funny how my daughter has only been gone 2 years, and you're already married to her husband? I bet you and Harry got together while my daughter was still alive, didn't you?".

"What? No" Louis shook his head.

"Maybe that's what killed my Valeria, she must have known her husband was sneaking around with you" Angelina said, emphasizing that last word as if it disgusted her.

"That's not true" Louis denied.

"And now you got what you wanted, you married Harry, and you're probably going to have a bunch of little kids, and my beautiful granddaughter's will become second class citizens in their own home" Angelina shook her head "You can fool everyone else, but you can't fool me, I know your type, home wrecker and probably gold digger too, but you better believe that we'll make sure that you won't touch any of the money that we plan to leave the girls when we're gone".

"I don't want anything, I-" Louis tried.

"I never want to see you near my daughter's grave again" Angelina threatened, and then turned around and walked away.

Louis' heart was racing by then, and he was suddenly dizzy again, and his palms were sweating, and he felt like he needed to leave, he needed to leave or he was going to break.

So with shaky hands, he found the Uber app on his phone, got a car, and as soon as it arrived he left. He was still freaking out as the Uber drove away from the cemetery, but at least he knew to text Harry... he didn't want him to worry.

To Harry: I was feeling better so I took an Uber back to the train station to go to your mum's, see you there later, I love you.

He put his phone away then, and tried to breath, even putting the window down to do that, but he still felt that anguish inside his chest, and he couldn't get rid of it.

Somehow he made it to the train station in one piece, and he bought a ticket to Holmes chapel, which was just a 35 minute trip. But during those 35 minutes, as much as he tried, he wasn't able to calm down.

When he arrived at the house, he rang the doorbell, and Harry's mum opened the door with a smile on his face.

"Hi, Louis" she said and gave him a hug.

"Hi" Louis said back trying to sound normal "Thank you for having me".

"Of course" Anne replied "I'm so grateful that you were able to bring Willa today, when Harry showed up last night with just Quinn I thought it was a mistake, but I didn't want to say anything".

"Yeah..." Louis nodded as he took off his coat.

"Are you hungry? We're going to have lunch" Anne announced.

"Actually, do you mind if I lay down for a little while? I woke up at 5:30 today, and I'm not feeling great".

"What's wrong, love?" Anne asked worried.

"My doctor changed one of my medications this week, and the new pills are giving me dizzy spells as a side effect" Louis explained "Apparently it's normal at first, but it's not pleasant".

"I'm so sorry to hear that, darling" Anne said apologetically "Go ahead and lay down, can I bring you anything?".

"No, don't worry" Louis replied "Thank you, though".

Anne gave him a pitiful smile, and Louis just went straight upstairs and to Harry's room, and closed the door behind him. The bed was nearly made, but he could see some of Harry's things on the nightstand, and the weekend bag he had brought on a chair. He went over to the bag, opened it, and felt relieved to find a hoodie, which he put on right away, knowing it would smell of Harry.

Once he had that on, he laid down on the bed, covering himself up with a fluffy blanket, and that's when he cried. He had been holding it in for at least an hour, but he couldn't take it anymore, and he let his emotions come out of him.

Deep down he knew that none of what that woman said was true, but it hurt him to know that anyone could think those things about him, and that she was running around saying all of that maybe to everyone she knew.

At some point he must have fallen asleep, because he woke up when he felt Harry's hand softly pushing his hair out of his forehead, and when he woke up he saw his husband's green eye.

"Hey beautiful" Harry smiled "How are you feeling? My mum says you felt dizzy again when you got here".

"Yeah..." Louis mumbled "I was tired too".

"Well, you slept for about 5 hours, do you feel better now?".

And that's when Louis' eyes filled with tears.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked, his voice and face instantly worried, and it increased when Louis didn't reply "Louis, baby, what happened? Is it the new pills? Are they not working like they should?".

"Not that" Louis managed to say as he felt tears fall from his eyes "I don't want to be a problem, Harry".

"What do you mean?" Harry asked softly.

"I know what she said isn't true, but I'm creating a problem" Louis cried.

"Lou, what are you talking about?" Harry questioned.

And Louis told him, between cries and sobs, he told him everything that Angelina said, because he didn't want to lie or omit information to his husband.

"That fücking woman" Harry cursed when Louis was done talking "I swear this is it, she's done seeing my daughters".

"I'm sorry, Harry" Louis apologized.

"You have nothing to apologize for" Harry told him "I should apologize, I took you there and I should've known better, and I'm sorry".

"But I'm the problem, if I wasn't in your life there wouldn't be a problem".

"That's not the way to see this, babe" Harry shook his head "The only problem here is her, and the fact that she can't accept that Valerie's gone and I have every right to rebuild my life".

"But..." Louis tried through his sobs.

"Louis, baby, you have every right to be upset about it, but none of it is your fault, okay?" Harry told him "You did nothing wrong".

Harry wiped Louis' tears away, then kissed his forehead, and before Louis realized what his husband was doing he saw he had his phone in his ear. And he knew who he was calling as soon as he started talking.

"Angelina, I told you to stay away from my personal life, and don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about because I know what you said to my husband, and it's unacceptable, all of it is lies you came up with, and you had no right to do it!" Harry said sternly, and then added, maybe when Angelina said something back "He didn't do anything! He was in the freaking car!".

Louis had never seen Harry so angry in his entirely life, it even scared him a little, but it made him see that Harry had his back no matter what.

"No! You are being disrespectful!" Harry shouted "All Louis has ever done is love me and my girls, and I'm done with you! I warned you what would happen if you kept this on, and I'm a man of my word, so you're done seeing my daughter unless it's under my supervision".

Louis felt guilty about it all, and he suddenly felt like the world was spinning again, and like he could throw up at any moment.

"You caused this, not me!" Harry finished off "Goodbye".

Harry huffed as he ended the call, and he had been staring out the window as he spoke, but when he turned around, he had nothing but love in his face for Louis.

"That woman is never getting near you again" Harry said as he walked up to the bed, and held Louis' face "I'll always protect you".

Louis nodded as a few tears fell from his eyes.

"And you know everything she said is false, right?" Harry asked.

"I know" Louis whispered.

"My baby" Harry said "You are so good to me, so good to the girls, I'm so sorry I wasn't there today to defend you".

"You did it now".

"And I'd do it a million times" Harry said very seriously "You're my life, Louis Tomlinson, I love you".

"I love you" Louis mumbled.

"Do you want me to cuddle you until you feel better?" Harry wondered.

"Yeah, but where are the girls?".

"They're busy baking cookies with my mum, so we have time" Harry told him.

Louis nodded, and Harry laid down next to him, and wrapped his arms around Louis, who felt so much better having his husband there. Harry was a better cure than any medication he took.

"How were the girls today?" Louis suddenly asked.

"They got sad at the grave, but it wasn't as bad as last year, and afterwards we all went to Valerie's brother's place, and they had fun with their cousins" Harry explained.

"I don't want you to rip them away from that side of their family" Louis considered "That will hurt them".

"I won't do that, I just won't let them spend time alone with my daughters" Harry explained.

"Okay" Louis nodded.

"This really triggered you, huh?" Harry asked as he gently brushed his knuckles on Louis' face.

"Yeah..." Louis nodded, and let out a puff of air "But I think I somehow managed, and I was aware of it the whole time... I think that means my pills are still keeping me stable".

"That's good" Harry smiled a little "Let's hope it stays like that".
