VII

        "Hey!"

Yeonjun and Beomgyu turned to see a boy standing there, who didn't look so happy.

Beomgyu observed the boy's outfit and smirked, "Sorry, this is a high school, not a homeless shelter."

"Which one of you are Yeonjun?" the boy glared between the two of them.

Yeonjun stepped forward, cocked an eyebrow, and placed a hand on the boy's cheek, "Did you need me for something, Handsome?"

The boy flinched at the other's touch but didn't bother doing anything about it, "You hurt my best friend."

"I don't know what you're talking about," Yeonjun dropped his flirty expression.

"Jisung," the boy furrowed his brows, "you broke his heart."

"Aww," Yeonjun pouted his lips, "Boo hoo. I'm so sorry Baby is there anything I can do to make it better."

"You're disgusting!" the boy finally threw off Yeonjun's hand.

"You're attractive."

"He'll get over it eventually," Beomgyu interjected and rolled his eyes, "I don't see why you're making such a big deal over it."

"No, you don't understand," the boy shook his head, "Jisung can't handle rejection well. If he sees you just walking down in the hallway then he'll burst out in tears."

Yeonjun shrugged, "That's not my problem."

"It should be!" the boy clenched his fists, "Now he's going to transfer schools!"

It was silent for a few moments, but Beomgyu couldn't hold in his laughter anymore, "Your friend is switching schools because of a breakup? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard!"

"Shut up!" the boy yelled, "Jisung has awful self-esteem. I thought he was getting better, especially after her started dating Yeonjun, but once you dumped him he seemed to be even worse than before!"

"Life's tough," Yeonjun chuckled, "What? Does he expect everything to go his way all the time? Jisung needs to grow up."

"Maybe you should grow up. You're acting like his emotions don't matter to you."

"Why should they?" Yeonjun scoffed, "I broke up with him because I didn't want to do anything with him anymore"

"Can you at least tell me why?" the boy pleaded, "If he knew the reason it might make him feel better."

Yeonjun crossed his arms and tilted his head, "How honest do you want me to be?"

"I'm being serious,"  the boy started to tap his foot.

"Well," Yeonjun sighed, now bored of the conversation, "I just did it because I could."

"Stop messing around!"

"He's not," Beomgyu shook his head.

"Just because you could?" the boy repeated in disbelief, "That doesn't make any sense!"

"I just wanted to move on to the next person," Yeonjun cast his gaze away from the boy, "How is that so hard to understand?"

"How could you be so heartless?" the boy scowled and pushed back his hair.

"Are you done yet?" Yeonjun looked between the boy and his friend, "Beomgyu and I are supposed to go watch a movie."

"Have you never been in a serious relationship before?"  the boy asked.

"What's the point?" Beomgyu questioned him back.

"Yeah, most relationships are bound to end anyway," Yeonjun simpered, "so why not have fun with it?"

"But what about the love?" the boy glared at them.

"Love doesn't exist," Beomgyu replied, a big quieter than normal.

"No, love exists," Yeonjun turned to Beomgyu before returning his attention back to the other boy, "It's just not really my thing."

"You've never been in love before?" the boy raised his eyebrows.

"So what if I haven't?" Yeonjun quickly defended himself, "I don't want to be trapped down like that."

"Don't you want to know what it feels like to be someone's everything?  To know you'll always have someone to have your back through everything? Someone to cherish?" the boy's gaze softened as he noticed Yeonjun's demeanor change after every question.

Yeonjun fell silent and Beomgyu responded for him, "No. Yeonjun said it himself, it's not his thing."

"Everyone needs to experience love at some point in their life,"the boy reached out and wrapped his arms around the younger, "You just have to find the right person."

Yeonjun could feel his cheeks heat up and pushed him away, "You don't know what you're talking about."

"Sure I do," the boy grinned, "Just give me a chance to show you."

"What's your name?" Yeonjun  asked, liking where this was going.

"It's Chan."

"Well Chan," Yeonjun gave him a sweet smile, "Never in a million years."

RING

RING

RING

RING

Yeonjun woke up to the sound of his phone going off on the coffee table in front of him. He should check it to see who's calling but instead he just watched it from the couch until it eventually stopped.

Yeonjun slowly sat up and groaned at the pain in his back. He didn't even remember falling asleep here. Yeonjun thought about his actions once he got home from school that may have led him to crashing on the couch when he suddenly remembered his dream. "Why am I dreaming about that?" Yeonjun questioned to himself, annoyed at the memory.

Yeonjun grabbed his phone from the table, trying to distract himself, and a peculiar notification caught his eye. It was a missed call from Soobin. Yeonjun snickered, "Aww, is my Sugar still thinking about me?"

Yeonjun quickly opened his phone and dialed back the number and after a few rings, Soobin answered, "Yeonjun?"

"Hey Soobin," Yeonjun rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm sorry I didn't answer your call earlier. I was taking a nap."

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" Soobin gasped on the other end, "I didn't mean to wake you up."

"It's fine. I was having a nightmare," Yeonjun laid back down," So, why did you call?"

"Well, I hope this doesn't seem like I'm trying to be in your business," Soobin hesitated for a moment, "but I was wondering what happened at lunch today, with that guy."

"That guy, oh, do you mean Chan? His friends told him that I was looking for him, which isn't true, but he just wanted to make sure I was okay," Yeonjun explained.

"Is that it? For some reason he gave me a weird vibe," Soobin admitted.

Yeonjun shook his head, although Soobin couldn't see the motion, "Chan is a nice guy. There's no reason to worry about me Sugar."

"I-It's Soobin," the black haired boy reminded him, "and I wasn't worried, just curious."

Yeonjun chuckled, "If you say so. What else did you want to talk about?"

"Nothing," Soobin stated bluntly.

"Oh, come on," Yeonjun huffed, "There has to be another reason. I doubt you only wanted to talk about Chan."

"There is but," Soobin paused for a moment, "I don't know."

"I don't want you to be afraid to talk to me," Yeonjun said with sincerity in his voice, "I won't judge you Soobin."

"This is so embarrassing," Soobin groaned and Yeonjun imagined how pink his cheeks must be right now, "The kiss. I can't stop thinking about it." Yeonjun didn't say anything and Soobin immediately regretting saying anything, "Y-yeonjun? Are you there?"

"I'm here. I wasn't expecting that, especially after what you said last night," Yeonjun explained.

"I wasn't expecting it either," Soobin let his words trail off and they fell into silence once again.

"Well," Yeonjun cleared his throat as he sat back up, "That was only a quick kiss. If that one is distracting you too much I can show you what a real kiss is like and get your mind off of it."

Soobin laughed, "Wow, way to be straight forward."

"Well," Yeonjun licked his lips, "You gotta be direct to get what you want."

"That's not very romantic," Soobin pouted.

"You haven't been in a relationship before," Yeonjun turned his phone on speaker mode so he could begin scrolling through social media, "Let me show you what a real romance is like."

"Yeonjun, I told you I want my first relationship to be special," Soobin stated.

Yeonjun sighed, "And why couldn't a relationship with me be special?"

"Because you don't take relationships seriously!" Soobin exclaimed.

"That's not true!" Yeonjun whined, "Just give me one day to prove you wrong."

"How about just one night?" Soobin proposed.

"Oh?" Yeonjun raised an eyebrow, "When?"

"Now."

"Now?" Yeonjun stopped scrolling and looked at his phone in disbelief, "You want me to come over tonight?"

"Right now," Soobin repeated.

"Alright then," Yeonjun smirked, "I'll see you in ten minutes."

-

"Oh no," Kai went to close his front door but the boy on the other side was quick to stick his foot in the doorway.

"Wow," the boy put his hands on his hips, "It's so very lovely to see you too you prick."

"What are you doing here Beomgyu?" Kai frowned. Beomgyu went to reply but Kai was quick to cut him off with wide eyes, "First, how the hell did you find my address?"

"You literally live right down the street from my ex," Beomgyu forced open the door, overpowering Kai, and stepped inside, "It really wasn't that hard, Sweetheart."

"Okay, whatever, but that still doesn't answer why you're here," Kai closed the door as he followed Beomgyu into the living room.

"Why is your house so small?" Beomgyu asked, completely avoiding the younger's question.

"This is a pretty average sized house," Kai rolled his eyes, "You act like you live in a mansion or something."

"I do," Beomgyu stated nonchalantly, as he threw his bag on the ground and plopped himself on the couch.

"Okay, if you live in this nice, big, fancy mansion, then why are you here?" Kai repeated, obviously annoyed.

Beomgyu shrugged, "I need a place to stay tonight."

"But you live," Kai could feel his eye twitch, "in a mansion."

"That doesn't mean I want to be there all the time," Beomgyu explained.

"Why?" Kai asked.

"That's none of your business," Beomgyu propped his feet on the coffee table, making Kai die a little inside.

"Well, if you tell me why then I'll let you stay," Kai proposed.

Beomgyu laughed, "Nice try Cupcake. I'm staying whether you want me to or not."

"You're so stupid," Kai sat on the couch, next to the blonde, "You can't just suddenly show up at someone's house and stay even when they don't want you to."

"Watch me," Beomgyu whispered, sending chills down the younger's spine.

"That's not how it works!" Kai grunted.

"Kai," an elderly woman was staring at the pair from the kitchen, "Who is your friend?"

Beomgyu swiftly put his feet back on the floor and Kai stood up, "Oh Grammy! This is Beomgyu. He was looking for a place to stay tonight, but I already told him no and was actually about to walk him out."

"That's nonsense!" the elderly woman walked over to the pair of boys, "He can stay if he needs to stay! You're mother won't be returning home from work until late tonight, so I don't think she would mind."

"But Grammy I-"

"I said he could stay," she hit Kai with the rolling pin she was holding, "I'm always willing to take care of a person in need."

"Thank you so much," Beomgyu stood up and bowed.

"Don't mention it Darling," the elderly woman pinched the blonde's cheek, "Any friend of my grandson is part of the family."

"Thank you," he repeated.

"Anyways, I'm making gimbap tonight and I'll let you boys know when it's ready," she smiled.

"Yeah," Kai narrowed his eyes, "Thanks Grammy." The woman leaned over and placed a kiss on Kai's cheek and headed back to the kitchen.

"Grammy?" Beomgyu chuckled once the woman was out of earshot.

"Shut up!" Kai pulled at his hair, "I can't believe you."

"What?" Beomgyu sniggered, "I didn't even do anything."

"I hate you so much," Kai fell back onto the couch.

"You know that's not true," Beomgyu sat back down and wrapped an arm around his shoulder, "You're going to fall for me one day."

Kai glared at him, "Never."

Beomgyu grabbed Kai's chin and pulled their faces together until their lips were only a few centimeters apart, "Are you sure about that?"

Kai's face immedately turned red and pushed the blonde away, "You're so gross!" Kai quickly got up and stormed off to his room.
