What was shocking was its skill at remaining hidden. Tanjiro and even Tokito didn't know it was a demon until they saw it.

Perhaps they held back because they didn't see a number in its eyes, but there was no doubt it was an upper-rank demon.

In less than the time it takes to blink, Tokito and Tanjiro both assumed battle stances, and Y/N….

'Shit- I forgot where I put my sword!'  Was exasperatedly running side to side in the room while looking for her weapon.

Mist breathing, fourth form : shifting flow slash.

Muichiro quickly attacked the demon, he jumped and latched himself onto the ceiling like a spider in response, dodging the attack while letting out a frightened shriek : “AAAIIIIIEEEEE!!”

'It's fast! I didn't kill it!' Muichiro exasperatedly looked up.

“Stop! Don't be so mean to me!” He touched the slash across his face. “It hurrrts…!”

'I can't hesitate! It's a demon that killed many people! Otherwise, it couldn't dodge a hashira's attack!' Tanjiro unsheathed the new katana Haganezuka gave to him, preparing to attack :

Hinokami Kagura : Sunflower thrust!

He stabbed the ceiling in the spot the demon was, it quickly jumped down, still crying loudly : “AAAIIIEEE!”

'Did I hit it?! Why doesn't it strike back?!'

Nezuko took her demon form and rapidly ran to it, harshly kicking his stomach and throwing him all the way over to the other side of the room, his back hitting against the wall. “Nezuko! Don't take that form!”

Muichiro didn't waste time and immediately took a swipe at the demon's neck, cutting his head. “AAAIIIEEE! YOU CUT ME!!”

'He… He cut off his head! That was fast! But…!'

There are cases where an upper moon doesn't die even if its head is cut off, it's a special condition… just like Daki and Gyutaro…!

With this in mind, Tanjiro immediately exclaimed : “Tokito! Don't let your guard down!”

Just as he said that, Muichiro exasperatedly look at the demon's decapitated head, who bounced on the floor and quickly started to grow a new body, while his headless body also grew a new head.

'It split! One grew a head and the other grew a body!'

“I'll take the one in the back!” Tanjiro ran to it, while Muichiro tried to attack the other.

The new demon suddenly revealed a big leaf on his hand just as Muichiro was about to attack it.

“Ah! I found it!” Y/N stood up from the floor, her sword finally in hands as her eyes sparkled in happiness.

The demon fanned the leaf, a scarily strong gust of wind being liberated from it and sending everyone flying, a big hole being made on the house they were inside.

“Nezuko!!! Y/N!!!” Nezuko had a strong grip on the destroyed wall, Tanjiro was holding her haori while exasperatedly trying not to be blow away.

“Tokito!!” He looked over his shoulder, only being able to see Muichiro's small silhouette disappearing in the distance.

“Ha! Ha! Ha! This is fun… they really went flying, didn't they… Sekido?” One of the clones commented with a sadistic smile, looking up at the other clone, who was holding a staff.

“There's nothing fun about it. I am just angry. Angry about being mixed with you too, Karaku!”

“Oh? Then it's good we've been separated.”

“You…. You two. You two are really courageous… yeah, I commend that courage, attacking her while I am here…” Daki suddenly spoke up with a dark expression, her worm-obi was wrapped around Y/N's waist, being the thing the helped her to not be blown off together with the others.

She carefully put Y/N down on the floor, protectively standing in front of her while glaring at them.

“It's the traitor.” Karaku said, which Sekido only responded by angrily screaming : “I can see that!”

“But she's only upper moon six. Doesn't pose a threat to us.” Karaku commented in response to his scream.

“Hey, you should call for your brother while you still can, you probably are already aware that he's the real upper moon here, though it's not like he poses a threat to us either.” Sekido mockingly said.

Daki angrily clenched her fists. Yeah, she couldn't see it before, but it's true that her brother was way stronger than her…. but….

“I will call for him if there's a need for it.” She got into an offensive stance. “But I have no need for that if my opponents are ugly and low-beings like you.”

Responding to her, Sekido stabbed his staff in the floor, electricity being liberated from it, Daki proceeded to grab Y/N with her obi and throw her through the hole in the ceiling, the others who were unlucky enough to still being inside (Including Daki) were electrocuted by the attack.

“ow….” Y/N fell into her butt on top of the roof, immediately running to the edge to peek inside the house, but was surprised to see that someone was already there, “Huh? Toothless guy?”

'What is this…? That staff!!' Tanjiro was still being electrocuted, his expression unbearable painful as he started to feel his consciousness fade. 'Uh-oh… I'm going to… pass out…

Huh? On the roof…? Someone.!

It's Genya…!'

Genya had a gun in his hand, firing it and exploding the head of the two demons in a flash.

'what is that weapon?! A gun?! It's smell just like a nichirin sword!'

“Oooohh… that was enjoyable…. fun, even… I've never felt an attack like that before…!” The demon with the fan-leaf still had his head connected to his neck, though it was almost falling off with only his now visible spine holding it.

'One of them is still up…!' Genya unsheathed his sword, jumping down from the roof and running in Karaku's direction.

“No! Genya! No matter how strong the weapon, this demon…!” Tanjiro attempted to stop him, but it was too late as he gave a clean cut through his neck. “….can't be defeated! Every time you cut it, it just divides! It's rejuvenating! Getting stronger! It WANTS you to cut its head off!”

'This demon isn't worried that we'll take its head, so that's not its weak spot! Now it has four separate bodies! It regenerates so fast! There must be a clue! Where does it heal fastest? It must have a weak spot! Find it! Look closely! Something…!!'

Tanjiro was so deep in thought that he didn't even notice that the new clone was a demon with wings, who grabbed his leg and lift him up in the air.

“Hhmmmph!” Nezuko tried to grab his hand, but it wasn't fast enough.

Tanjiro was now hanged upside down as the demon started to fly higher and higher. “Don't worry about me, Nezuko! Help Genya!” He exclaimed when she attempted to follow him.

“You're so weak, it's sad.” The new clone, who had a lance, stabbed Genya through his stomach, lifting him up.

“GENYA! NEZUKO! HELP GENYA! PLEASE! HURRY!” Tanjiro exclaimed.

“You have the luxury of worrying about others….” The flying demon commented.

'….who…. who do I help? Nezuko? Genya? Tanjiro?' Y/N panicked. 'No… Nezuko and Genya can heal, Tanjiro doesn't, so help Tanjiro it is!' She jumped down from the roof, looking up at the sky while following Tanjiro and the demon.

“Y/N!!” Daki tried to go after her.

“DAKI! NEZUKO AND GENYA, PROTECT THEM! I WILL BE FINE!!” She exclaimed as she disappeared in the distance.

The flying demon opened his mouth, seemingly preparing some kind of sonic attack.

Hinokami Kagura…!

Tanjiro cut its leg at the same time he liberated the attack, quickly falling in the direction of trees under them without any hope of a safe landing. 'Grab onto a branch…!'

The branch he grabbed broke, his leg hitting against another branch in the process and making him flip in the air, he was seemingly about to face-plant on the ground, squeezing his eyes shut as he prepared for the impact…

“Oof! Gotcha ya! Just in time!” Y/N managed to catch him at the last moment, so here Tanjiro was, being princess carried.

He stared at her smiling face in awe for a second, letting out a relieved sigh as soon as he finally finished processing the fact that he managed to escape from what would be a very painful fall..... though it was by dumb luck. And in the last second too.

“Hey Tanjiro…. You're lighter than I expected! How cute!” His face exploded in red from embarrassment, he started to squirm in her grasp while pushing her cheek. “N-now is not the time for this!! Put me down-!”

“Sorry, sorry-” She mumbled a quick apology while putting him down.

The leg of the demon was still attached to his ankle, a new head suddenly appearing from it and opening its mouth, preparing another sonic attack.

Tanjiro didn't lose time and immediately attacked it, cutting the head in half. 'Uh-Oh! I cut it! Now what?! If it grows into another one…'

The two halves of the head healed into two mouths, liberating two sonic attacks at the same time and directly hitting Y/N and Tanjiro.

'I see…. I get it…' Tanjiro backed for a moment, before looking down at the heads again, revealing an almost sadistic smile in his bloodied face. 'The power of its attacks…. Is weakening!' he looked rather thrilled with that discovery.

He didn't waste time and stabbed the two heads with his sword, unaware of the flying demon approaching him from behind.

Seraphic breathing, fourth form : karmic pay

The attack sent the demon flying far away from them, effectively stopping him from using another sonic attack on Tanjiro, but he would probably come back in a while.

“Tanjiro-! Do you see that bird demon?” She aggressively pointed in the direction where she just threw him. “He's very light! Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to fly with that size, and my attack wouldn't send him so far away too!”

'Actually, that was a discovery that YOU made in the manga, but I guess there's no harm in letting you know sooner-' Y/N thought, sweat-dropping.

“But, what is your point-” He stopped his question and pushed her when he noticed the demon flying in their directions, his claw making a big scratch around his chest.

“How do you like my claws? So fast and sharp! They can crush a diamond! You should be trembling! Rejoice in the spray of blood!”

In response, Tanjiro looked over his shoulder with a smug smile. “You first.”

The demon's eyes widened as a slash was made across his face, his blood spurting.

Tanjiro ran up to him in order to attempt another cut, the clone opened his mouth to prepare another sonic attack, but….

“Ta-da! Y/N's surprise attack!” She appeared behind him, taking a swipe at his neck, he quickly flied up to avoid the cut.

'This brat… she keeps interrupting my attacks-!' He was starting to get annoyed, this was the second time.

Y/N quickly ran up to Tanjiro, their backs facing each other as they prepared for attacks in any direction.

Just like an eagle, he kept flying down and taking swipes at the two, his claws were extremely sharp, and he was also very quick, so it was hard to completely evade his attacks, the result of this was Y/N and Tanjiro rapidly receiving big scratches around their bodies at each dive the clone took.

'Ugnh! He's speeding up! And I was trying to get back quickly!'

Tanjiro looked back at the house where Nezuko, Daki and Genya were. 'The building where they are is right over there! What should I do? Think! Right… if I can't defeat him right there and now… No, the situation might get much worse! I don't know! I don't know!'

“He's very light! Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to fly with that size, and my attack wouldn't send him so far away too!”

He remembered what Y/N told him, he doesn't know how she knew that this information would be useful, but he decided to question that later as he prepared for another of the demon attacks.

'Nezuko is in that building there. I'll be there in a flash! Can't misjudge the direction! Gotta use his flight ability and momentum, to save Nezuko and Genya as soon as possible…!'

As always, demon flew down and tried to swipe them, Tanjiro running after him and stabbing his chest with the sword, both of them flying off in the air in great speed as the clone's back harshly hit against the wall of the house's second floor.

'He really IS light! This will work!'

Tanjiro put more and more force into the sword until the wall crumbled, both falling inside the house.

“Nezuko! Genya!”

Y/N quickly climbed inside, following him. “Nezuko! Daki!”

Daki and Genya were nowhere to be seen, the scene they saw was Sekido standing in front of Nezuko, his staff across her neck, impaled on the ground while the girl was continuously electrocuted.

● this is random but karaku kinda sounds like ass face in my language and I couldn't stop laughing at that even tho it's not funny 💀

And fighting scenes… I really didn't miss you guys- I hate writing them so much aaaarghh-

Also, letting you guys know that I'm writing this accordingly to the manga! if you read mangas with fight scenes you're probably aware that it's almost impossible to tell what's happening- I hope I managed to at least make things  make sense in this chapter lol ●
