You and Laxus were in fairly serious relationship by now, dating for 2 years and Makarov was happy about you two. Mainly for Laxus after all the trouble he previously caused for Fairy Tail but is glad he settled down from that weird stage with you, earning his peace and quiet.

So, Makarov thought about you as a part of Dreyar family and is hoping the two of you will hit it off in some wedding and make it more official because as everyone else, he'd love to be the great-grandpa to your kids (his thoughts going so far off in the futuree T_T)

Makarov invited the two of you to a dinner as a family gathering. You had that kind of dinner before and you admit it is refreshing to look at him as Laxus' family figure rather than guild master, like now all 3 of you are ordinary people.

Laxus and you were getting ready for the dinner, he decided to wear a black button up shirt and he won't be wearing a coat this time. You on the other hand decided for a more formal dress rathen that something casual to math Laxus. Once done he looked you up and down and gave you a thumbs up with a cool smile.

You weren't satisfied with that kind of praise and you made an angry face. He chuckled at your cuteness and came to kiss you.

"You look very lovely in that dress, you never stop to amaze me y/n"

"Thank you, the black shirt suits you too, you should wear it more often you know"

"If you like it so much I will"

Two of you went out of your shared house and headed to the restaurant Makarov said he will be at. Laxus offered his elbow for you to hold and you accepted, while walking down the streets the two of you looked like a classy but lovely couple, Fairy Tail's pride.

After a short walk you reached the place, it was small and bustling with people. You found Makarov and joined his table. Laxus was a gantleman and pulled out a chair for you which made you smile sweetly. You both ordered smth cheap and simple to eat. Makarov was looking at the two of you with a kind smile.

"So, how have you two been?"

"Going well so far" Laxus said between taking food in his mouth.

"Oh um it's going well but I was thinking we take a short break from the guild" y/n said.

Laxus gave you a questioning glance and you continued to explain.

"It's nothing for long of course, I just wish to see the world for a moment, relaxed"

"And with Laxus"

He chuckled how you forgot about him for a moment.

"Both of you are young, now that things are serious you need a break from magic and danger. After your return I expect big things"

Makarov was looking at Laxus when he said the last sentence. You wonder what it might be but let it go.

Dinner took change to a funnier note, Makarov decided it would be cool to drink... and he didn't stop. So in the end you ended up listening about more guild shenanigans before you joined and what havoc Laxus was doing. In the end it was a beautiful dinnet spent remembering Fairy Tail is your home but your family here is what you need.
