It was the day of the Easter fundraiser party at the yacht club. JJ was over at Kies house getting ready for it.

He came out of her bathroom in a suit with an untied tie around his neck.

"Looking stunning as ever" JJ said when he saw Kiara in her dress as he went over to hug her

"You don't look too bad yourself" she said, fixing his collar.

Her parents let him get ready in her room as long as they kept the door open. Besides, he needed all the help he could get.

"Here, put this on" she said handing him a bottle of expensive cologne.

"Gu- say?" He said, reading the bottle

"It's Gucci babe, you'll get there" she teased, patting him on the shoulder

He smiled as he sprayed some on, almost blushing at that word.

She stood in front of the mirror, looking at herself to make sure she wasn't missing anything.

He came up and hugged her from behind. Wrapping his arms around her waist and putting his chin on her shoulder.

"You look great" he said softly and she smiled

He then pushed her hair off her neck as he slowly went in to kiss it. She gasped a little at the sensation and tilted her head to the side. She lifted her arm and put her hand in his hair.

He kissed her a few more times before stopping. He smirked and went back into the bathroom to finish getting ready.

He tied his tie the best he could and then him and Kie walked down stairs together.

"There they areeee" Mike said, looking them both up and down "y'all look great. Now who's excited to go to the party" Mike teased knowing that they weren't

"So excited" Kie said sarcastically

JJ just laughed.

"Dad, he needs help" Kie laughed, pointing at JJs tie

"Ahh you were close" Mike said, fixing his tie for him.

"Heyward tried teaching me last time for prom, but uhh.. I don't think it stuck" JJ laughed

"Welll, that's alright" Mike said "as long as you're with Kiara, you'll most likely have to go to more of these. You'll learn eventually"

"Dad, you don't even like these parties. Why do we go?" Kie asked

"Because it makes your mother happy" Mike said, finishing the tie and patting JJ on the shoulder "happy wife happy life JJ remember that"

They all laughed and waited around in the kitchen for kies mom to come downstairs

When everyone was ready, they loaded up in her dads truck and headed to the yacht club.

When they got club, there were only a few people inside. They were early since they volunteered to help set up.

They walked inside and Kies mom started giving them orders and things to do to help set up.

Kie and JJ mostly goofed off the whole time, but managed to get most of it done.

They went over to Kies dad to help him set out bowls of food in the reception hall.

After setting up for a while, JJ was talking to mike by the big counter of food, when they saw Kie walk over to someone.

"Aaron??" She asked as she walked up to a guy.

"Oh lord" Mike laughed as he saw Kie going up to him

"Kiaraaaaa! there you are" Aaron said cheerfully and they hugged "I was looking for you"

"Omg I haven't seen you in forever" Kie said, pulling away "how have you been"

Mike watched JJs face carefully, and laughed at his grossed out expression

"Who is that guy?" JJ asked Mike with disgust, not taking his eyes off of them.

"Ahh yes" Mike chuckled "that's Aaron. Probably Kiaras only kook friend"

"Hmm" JJ thought for a second

"Might wanna watch out for him" Mike teased "he's always had a little crush on her, ever since they were kids"

"Are you being serious" JJ said, finally looking over at Mike

"Yep" Mike nodded, crossing his hands "yet somehow, she's stayed completely oblivious to it."

JJ paused for a moment, looking Aaron up and down "I could take him" JJ said confidently

"Hey- JJ there's not gonna be any of that tonight. alright" Mike laughed "he's always hitting on her, but she never shows him any interest back. Don't worry, I was just kidding before"

"Hmm" JJ bit his lip as he thought "I'll be right back" JJ said and he walked up to Kie.

"Heyyy" he said, putting his arm around her and pulling her in and kissing her the way he had done at the fire pit at John bs house.

She laughed and pulled away "hey?"

Mike chuckled and shook his head as he watched JJ get a little jealous

"Aaron, this is my boyfriend, JJ" Kie said, introducing him

"Oh, hey man, good to meet you" JJ said, offering a handshake

"Boyfriend?" Aaron said with a fake smile as he shook JJs hand

"Yep" JJ said, proud as he pulled Kie in closer "how longs it been? Like 6 months maybe? Somethin like that"

"4 but close enough" Kie laughed

"That's.. awsome" Aaron said, painfully laughing "that's really awsome"

"Thank you" Kie smiled in his arms.

"Right, well." Aaron said awkwardly "I'll see you around kiara."

"Hey, it was good meeting you" JJ smiled as aaron left

"I can't believe he's here" Kie said to JJ once aaron left "I haven't seen him since we were like 14"

"Yea" JJ said, happy since he felt he definitely won "seems like a cool dude"

They went back over to Mike and Kie went into the kitchen to set more food out on a platter

"Well done" Mike nodded Briefly, chuckling a little

"Think I got the message across?" JJ joked and Mike just laughed. He patted JJ on the back as they walked back into the kitchen to help Kie.

An hour or so later, the guests started to arrive and Everyone went outside to the back yard area.

Inside they were having an Easter basket fundraiser event, but Kie and JJ had no desire to be a part of that.

They hung out with some of the other guests outside, making pointless small talk and trying to sneak drinks when they could.

"This is worse than prom" JJ said, leaning over and speaking to her quietly to not be rude, as they walked around the party

"Tell me about it" Kie agreed "I've had to come to these boring kook events ever since I was a kid"

"It's times like these im glad my dad beat the shit out of me my whole childhood" JJ said, jokingly

Kie stopped walking and looked at him "not funny."
She said with a serious face.

"Sorry" he laughed and they kept walking.

He had always been nonchalant about his dad and made jokes as a way to cope. Kie hated it, but she knew it was just a coping mechanism.

"I don't even understand why they have these parties" Kie continued "there's really no point in an Easter party"

"They don't even have peeps here" JJ agreed "what kind of an Easter party doesn't have peeps"

"Ahh of course not" Kie laughed "it would take away room for the caviar"

"That shits nasty" JJ laughed and so did Kie

They took a couple more laps around the party, just talking and joking around, before they saw Aaron again.

"Kiara, hey" Aaron said, coming up to her and JJ

JJ took a deep breath and quietly sighed at his unwanted presence.

"Hey Aaron" Kie smiled

"Hey I heard molly found a bottle of champagne upstairs, unattended" he said "was just wandering if you wanted to go get some- if BOTH of you, wanted to go get some"

Kie looked up at JJ to see if he wanted to or not, but he didn't make a face. He just stared at Aaron.

"Uhm" Kie said, looking back at Aaron "sure. Right?" She said looking at JJ again

"Yea" he shrugged "I'm always down for some unattended alcohol"

Kie laughed and Aaron laughed awkwardly as they all snuck upstairs into a guest bedroom.

When they got up there, another girl was already in the room with the bottle in her hand

Aaron grabbed the bottle of champagne from Molly and set it on the dresser.

"Your gonna spill it- stop" Aaron said, as he took the bottle from her

"Ugh- Aaron your no fun" Molly rolled her eyes

"Molly, hey" Kie said, and Molly hugged her

"Hey babbbbes, it's been too long" Molly said, pulling away and looking at her. She hugged her again and Aaron poured four glasses of champagne for everyone.

"Here" Aaron said, angrily handing a glass to Molly

"Ugh lighten up" Molly said as she took a sip of champagne and Aaron handed everyone else a glass

"Preciate it" JJ said as Arron handed it to him

"Kiara who is this?" Molly asked, looking at JJ

"Oh, sorry, Molly this JJ, JJ this is Molly, we went to school together at the kook academy" Kie introduced

"Pleasure to meet you" JJ said, offering to shake her hand

"Oh?" Molly said, putting her finger up to her lip as if she were flirting as she looked at JJ. She then shook his hand and smiled

"Molly, this is Kiaras Boyfriend" Aaron said as if he knew what she was thinking

"Oh" she said with a more bland tone "Kiara you have boyfriend? Since when"

"It's been a while" Kie smiled and looked at JJ. He smiled back at her

Molly laughed into her cup as she put the glass up to her lips "sorry Aaron" she chuckled and took a sip

"Shut up" he said quickly before she could say anything else

"So how do you guys know each other?" JJ asked, trying to make conversation

"Sorry to say, she's my little sister" Aaron glanced at her but she just laughed.

"You know you love me" Molly winked, taking another sip

They finished there drinks and went back downstairs.

JJ managed to find a way to ditch Aaron and Molly, and him and Kie went inside to get food from the snack bar.

"I'm starving, were are the peeps" Kie joked, looking at all the small fancy finger foods.

"What? You don't want any cracker-caviar combinations?" He said sarcastically

"No, not at all" she laughed

"Well then babe your out of luck cause that's all they have" he joked

She laughed but then looked at him and smiled. She wrapped her arms around his neck, blushing a little

"'babe'" she smiled, quoting him

"Stopp" he blushed, embarrassed

"No, it's cute" she smiled "I like it"

"You said it first" he said, hating the word but for some reason still wanting to say it.

She laughed, knowing he was right.

"What if we just... left.. super quick and got food" Kie suggested, changing the subject

"Would they even notice" JJ said, agreeing with her idea

"I don't think they would" she said, going along with it

"We'd have to walk" JJ said "might mess up your heels"

"Oh no- we can't have that" she said dramatically

"Is it worth it" JJ said suspenseful

Kie grabbed a cracker from off the counter behind them, and put it up to JJs lips and he ate it.

Kie laughed as he made a grossed out face as he chewed

"You tell me" she laughed as he tried to swallow it

"Yea I think we should go" he said, in a dry voice, coughing.

Kie took off her heels and JJ carried them for her as they walked down the road to a fast food restaurant. She held his hand and they talked the whole way there.

They got there, and went in and ordered. They took there food and went outside to the parking lot and ate, sitting on the curb in a parking spot.

Half way through, Kie got a FaceTime notification from her dad

"Uh oh" Kie laughed, showing JJ her phone

"Answer it" He laughed

"Dad, hey" Kie said a little loud and JJ laughed even more. They were Both a little drunk and weren't very good at hiding it.

"Kiara, where are you? I've been looking for you for the past 10 minutes" Mike said, worried

"We're at McDonalds" she said simply, holding up the phone to show JJ and the building behind them.

"I- why?" Mike asked, almost a little mad "you didn't think to ask first?"

"We we're hungry" Kie laughed, like it wasn't a big deal

"There's food here" Mike said

"Mike, have you TRIED the crackers there bro" JJ said, jokingly trying to reason with him

Mike couldn't help but laugh at the goofy teenagers. He couldn't even be mad. JJ wasn't wrong either, the food was gross.

"Okay- look just get back over here" Mike said, not mad anymore "next time, ask."

"Yes shirrr" JJ said, taking a bite of his food

"Bye dad" Kie laughed and hung up the phone

"Oopsie-daiseys" JJ said in a funny voice

They cleaned up there food and started walking back to the yacht club.

"So, who is Aaron?" JJ asked as they walked back slowly since they didn't want to go "sorry to ask- just curious"

"Well, he's been a family friend for a while now, and he was always the person I'd end up talking to when I was younger and had to go to these parties" Kie explained "him and Molly are the only kooks I'd still talk to from that school. Their actually somewhat tolerable"

"So, you guys were never like.." JJ hesitated "like a thing or anything like that, right?"

"What? No." Kie laughed "we've always been just friends, I promise"

"Okay" JJ said, happy to hear that

"Why, you jealous?" She teased, pushing his shoulder

"Of that guy?" JJ laughed "No."

Kie laughed

"I think our families have always assumed we would end up together" Kie admitted "but I've just never thought of him like that."

"Good" JJ said, grossed out at the thought "I bet he loves the caviar crackers"

Kie laughed "you know he does"

They both laughed as they finally got back to the yacht club and went back inside.
