It was almost spring break now. JJ was over at the chateau since that was where he lived now. He hadn't spoke to his father since they got in that fight.

JJ was going over to Kies house in the morning to help her and her parents pack, and then the next day they would be in the car driving to Florida.

JJ had never been on an actual vacation before. other than camping at least. He didn't really know what to expect but he was excited.

"You and Sarah are gonna have the house to yourself again while I'm gone" JJ started as him and John b sat on the dock. "Better not come home to any babies" he joked

"Aaabsolutly not" John b laughed.

"You ever think about having kids?" JJ asked

"Psfff, one day maybe" John b thought "wayyy down the road though"

JJ laughed

"What about you" John b asked almost as a joke "does JJ maybank want kids"

"10" JJ said

"Your gonna have 10 kids" John b laughed, knowing he was kidding "no shot is Kie pushing out 10 babies"

"Yep, 10 and there all gonna be named JJ jr" he said sarcastically.

John b thought the idea of JJ wanting kids was impossible, and JJ knew that. That's why he played it off as a joke.

"Bro I can't believe your actually going to Florida with kiaras DAD" John b said

"Right" JJ said, just as surprised

"I thought he hated you" John b said.

"Nahh, he use to but.." JJ said standing up "I think I'm winning him over"

"You going in?" John b asked as he watched JJ stand up.

"Yea I gotta be at Kies house early tomorrow" JJ said looking out at the water one more time

"alright" he said "good luck"

JJ laughed and went back inside to sleep.

The next morning he got to Kies house and started to help them pack before Mike had to go to work.

After Mike left, They needed small items like batteries, sun screen, and snacks for the road. So they went with Kies mom in her car and drove to a drug store.

When they got there, They shopped around for a while. Kie and JJ were playing around with sunglasses and toys and being a little immature but Kies mom just found it funny.

This is why JJ loved dating his best friend. He got to alway hang out with her and have fun, and he got to kiss her. It was the best of both worlds.

JJ and kie got distracted at the toy isle, picking up weird things that they found and trying to figure out how to use them.

Anna went around to find batteries she had saw earlier when they first walked in on the first shelf.

While she was shopping, she heard the bell on the door ring and she turned around to see who it was. To her surprise.. she saw Luke, grabbing a basket and walking in.

She turned around and saw him walk in. They made eye contact and then she turned back around, trying to ignore him. Luke laughed at the coincidence and then made his way over to her.

"What? You just gon act like you ain't seen me" Luke said as Anna continued to look at the batteries.

"Sure am" she said

"Typical" he said, pretending to look for batteries as well "always in a bitchy mood"

"Leave me alone, luke" she said, trying to not give him attention so that he would leave her alone.

He saw JJ and kie when he first walked in so he knew they were there.

"Hey, Let me ask you a question" he said, standing close to her. "Why you acting like you gotta take care of my shithead son"

"Well- someone has to do it" Anna said, finally looking over at him "we all know you don't"

"Ohh so now I'm a bad parent" Luke said, shrugging his face sarcastically "okay"

"Well what am I supposed to assume, when he shows up at our house in the middle of the night- wasted with bruises all over his face" Anna said angrily but keeping her voice down.  "It's not like I could put it past you" she said, looking at him with disgust.

"Yea, well.. you can't believe a word that boy says" luke said, crossing his arms "he's just a little liar. You'll believe me one day"

"I happen to be very fond of JJ, Luke. He's treated our daughter and family very well" she said, trying to prove him wrong "I'm not too sure how, but he's actually turned out pretty good , despite the man who raised him"

"Hmm im sure" luke laughed "just what he wants you to think. He's always tried to put the blame on me"

"And he should" she said.

"I never done nothin to that boy" Luke said "he's a liar, I'm tellin you"

"Don't act like I'd ever believe you wouldn't put your hands on him." She said, looking him dead in the eyes. "I know you would. And you know how I know" she said as if she was reminding him of something.

"Hey!" He said loudly and grabbed her arm "don't act like you didn't deserve that"

JJ looked up when he heard him say 'hey'. He knew it sounded like his dad. He dropped what was in his hand and He left Kie and started searching every isle until getting to the one they were at

"You know good and well that you were-" Luke continued

"What the hell are you doing here dad!" JJ yelled, pushing his dad off of her. "Don't you dare fucking touch her" he said and Luke grabbed him by the shirt and looked at JJ angrily but JJ stayed calm.

"What? You gonna hit me?" JJ said, not skipping a beat. He stared into his fathers eyes.  "go ahead dad. Hit me in front of all these people. See what happens"

Luke looked at him, knowing he was right. He let go of his shirt, looked at JJ, scoffed and then started walking further into the store.

"No" JJ said, stepping in front of him "get the hell out" he said, pointing at the door.

"Boy if you don't-"

"Get the fuck out of here" JJ said like it wasn't going to happen any other way. He put his hands on his dad and started guiding him to the door. Luke knew he couldn't fight back and just left, throwing his basket on the floor as he walked out of the door.

JJ stayed and watched out the door for a second to make sure that he was leaving.

"Mrs Carrera are you okay?" JJ said, going up to her and making sure she wasn't hurt

"No- I'm fine" she said, her voice a little shaky

"I'm so sorry" he said and hugged her

"Thank you JJ but it's really okay" Anna said

"What the heck was that about?" Kie asked, standing next to them

"My dads a piece of shit that's what" JJ said angrily "sorry" he said, apologizing to her mom for cussing and covered his mouth a little.

Her mom just laughed A little, trying to brush what had just happened off.

They bought there items and left. JJ was still a little mad but he tried not to let it bother him.

"What did he say to you" JJ asked Kies mom once they got home. It was just him and Anna in the kitchen at this moment and Kie was in her room packing.

"JJ you don't need to worry about it I promise" her mom said, smiling.

"No I know- I just wanna know" he said "like why did he get mad?"

"Well, you know how your father is" Anna said, not wanting to tell him what happened. "I don't even pretend to know why he does the things that he does." She smiled and went back into her room to pack again.

JJ wasn't satisfied with that answer but he dropped it for now.

Since her dad wasn't home, JJ went upstairs into Kies room to help her pack, but They kept the door open so that it wouldn't be suspicious.

"I can't wait to be in Florida" JJ said excitedly "just imagine.  a week with you, no school no work. Nothing to worry about. Just a Beach house and surfing all day." JJ said, painting a picture of how the vacation would go.

"Rightt" Kie smiled "I'm so happy your going"

"Ha, your tellin me" he laughed as she walked up to him and hugged him. She looked up at him, they were both smiling. Eventually she kissed him and they started kissing in her room for a while.

It wasn't long before Kies mom went upstairs to go ask her a question.

"Oh- sorry" Anna said after walking in the room and seeing what they were doing. She hid her eyes and walked out of her room but they both followed her out

"Sorry.. Mrs Carrera" JJ said as Anna walked down stairs

"Please don't tell dad" Kie said quickly

"Nope- I saw nothing" Kies mom pretended and went back into the kitchen. JJ and kie laughed and then followed her down stairs.

They stayed down stairs until Kies dad came back home from the wreck.

"Well I should probably get back" JJ said after a while "I still need to pack"

"JJ we're leaving pretty early tomorrow" Mike said, preparing dinner "if you want, you two can go get your things and bring them back here tonight. I have no problem with you two sleeping on the couch in the living room."

"WAIT REALLY?!" Kiara said, excitedly looking over at JJ

"Yea- sure that would be awsome" JJ said, happily excepting the offer.

Kie ran up to her dad And hugged him "thank you dad" she said smiling.

"I have nothing to worry about right?" He said to both of them but mainly directed it towards JJ

"Of course not" JJ promised and him and Kie went in her car to drive to the chateau to get JJs things.
