Error Joins The Party

Remember to brush your teeth before you cross the road

So I didn't really know how Dream attacks and decided to make stuff up lol I hope it's not too bad- basically I just made it so he can infuse his light energy with normal attacks

"Nightmare." Dream whispered.

Blue frowned, not liking the look of Nightmare's new form. There was a malicious glint in that cyan eye that sent chills down his spine. He subconsciously moved closer to Dream as a sudden wave of fear washed over him. Dream spared a glimpse at his friend and began to wonder if bringing him was really a good idea. He didn't want him to get hurt.

"Blue, are you okay?" Dream asked quietly, eyes locked onto his approaching brother.

Blueberry remained quiet for a few seconds before he suddenly gasped and jumped away from the guardian, pointing somewhere behind Nightmare.

"Error's here!"

Dream perked up, shifting his gaze over to where Blue had pointed. Sure enough, Error was trudging along after Nightmare- though he seemed agitated.

"Is he on our side?" Blue asked, turning slightly to look at Dream.

Dream glanced at him again and shrugged.

"I can't tell." He mumbled. "Hopefully he is."

Blue stared at Error and obnoxiously began to wave at him, trying to catch his attention.

"Blue, stop!" Dream hissed, grabbing the skeleton's arm and lowering it.

Blue whined and snatched his arm back, cradling it while sulking. Dream sighed softly, a small prick of guilt emerging inside of him. He placed a gloved hand on Blueberry's shoulder and gave him an apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry- I just, it didn't seem like a good idea." Dream fumbled over his words. "Look, Night will be here soon- we need to try and get the villagers to safety before he gets to them."

Blue hummed and saluted in response.

"Okay, try and get as many villagers as you can to hide someplace safe." Dream instructed.

Blue nodded and turned away, running over towards the few villagers that were outside and alerting them of the oncoming danger. Dream observed him for a few seconds before switching his line of sight back onto his brother. Nightmare had definitely spotted him and he had a large, twisted grin on his face. Error didn't seem to be paying any attention and was instead glaring down at the ground as if it would suddenly give him the answer to everything.

"Error, please be on our side." Dream quietly begged. His dull, golden-yellow eyes lingered on the two until he forced himself to look away and assist Blue in getting the villagers to safety. He managed to help a few villagers hide before a sudden shriek rang out through the village, causing the guardian to freeze.

"Dream!" Blue cried out, rushing over to the guardian and tugging on his cape urgently.

Dream swallowed thickly and bolted towards the centre of the village, Blue following close behind. His eyes widened and his breath hitched as he watched his brother toss aside a bloody, limp villager with one of his tentacles.

"Oh stars.." Dream stammered, beginning to tremble in fear.

Nightmare cackled, taking a few steps forward towards his terrified brother.

"Hello, Dream." He spat, voice laced with venom. "I thought you were with Ink. Oh well, this will make it more enjoyable- I get to kill the villagers and you!"

Dream clenched his fists and shook his head, holding back tears.

"I'm sorry, Night. I can't let you go through with this."

Nightmare chuckled, folding his arms and raising a non-existent eyebrow.

"Do you really think you can stop me?" He asked incredulously. "I'm too far gone, Dream."

Dream sighed, closing his eyes as he answered.

"I guess I have no choice."

The guardian reopened his eyes, a sudden fiery confidence blazing within them. He wasted no time in summoning a weapon he hadn't used in a while. A long, softly glowing blue staff suddenly appeared in his right hand. At each end of the pole levitated a golden-yellow star that also seemed to emit a faint light.

Nightmare sneered, recognising the weapon. His brother used to use it all the time when he went on those stupid adventures with Ink and Blue. He can't let it touch him- the staff is infused with light energy and he's learned the hard way that it will weaken him.

"Error, I need you to get that weapon away from Dream." Nightmare ordered. When he received no response, he growled and glanced backwards expecting to see the glitchy skeleton. To his surprise, the destroyer was no longer with him.

Nightmare scowled, facing Dream and Blue again. Where the hell did that spastic trash go? Oh well, he could do this by himself. Blue will prove to be useless- only light energy seems to hurt him and as far as he knows only Dream has that power.

He let out an eerie chuckle before clicking his fingers, teleporting to a different area of the village.

Dream and Blue faltered, frantically looking around them for any sign of the corrupted guardian.

"Hey."

Dream and Blue both shrieked simultaneously, turning around and coming face to face with the destroyer.

"Error!" Dream exclaimed, lowering his weapon.

"Look- there's not much time to talk right now but here are some things you might need to know." Error hurriedly spoke. "Normal attacks wont work on him- they have to be light energy attacks and you cannot trust Ink at all."

Dream blinked in confusion.

"That's what I've been trying to say!" Blue yelled, stomping his foot.

Dream opened his mouth to say something however was cut short by a sudden chorus of screams and cries.

"Quick- we need to stop him!" Dream exclaimed, gripping his staff tighter and darting down one of the streets towards the screams. Blue and Error trailed after the guardian, glimpsing around for any sign of Nightmare.

Dream skidded to a halt as he turned a corner into an alleyway, eyes widening.

"Brother, stop!" He exclaimed, raising his staff and violently swinging it at the corrupted guardian. Nightmare narrowly dodged the attack and snickered, crushing the last villager that had been hiding in the alley with his a tentacle. Dream felt himself gag as he peered at the mangled mess of bodies. He could barely even recognise the villagers.

Error turned the corner and his mismatched eyes immediately landed on the ravaged bodies. He silently cursed and covered Blue's eyes as soon as the other skeleton had caught up.

"Hey, what are you-"

"Trust me, Blue. You don't want to see this." Error interrupted, unable to look away from the bodies.

Nightmare burst into laughter at the pitiful display.

"So you ran off to join my pathetic brother and his silly friend?" He chortled. "How cute. I guess that means I'll have to kill you too. What a waste- you could have been useful to me."

Error glowered and bared his teeth.

"You may be my best friend but that doesn't mean I'll let you use me for your sick game!" He yelled, pushing Blue away from where the bodies were situated so that he could use both hands. He lifted his hands up to the tear-like stains beneath his eyes and summoned his blue strings and wrapped them around Nightmare without delay.

"Dream- infuse your light energy with my strings!"

Dream nodded and sent some of his energy into the blue strings. The blue instantly changed into a softly glowing yellow and Nightmare began to screech, shuffling and desperately trying to break free from the wretched strings. He hadn't expected that.

"Nice thinking, Error." Dream praised.

The destroyer nodded slightly.

"I don't think they'll hold much longer." He mumbled, wincing slightly as Nightmare fought against them.

"I'll get him with my staff!" Dream declared, rushing forwards and lifting the staff above his head to whack his corrupted brother with.

"You wouldn't hit me." Nightmare sneered.

"Watch me."

Without hesitation, Dream lowered the staff onto Nightmare's shoulder earning a loud yowl of pain from the other. The guardian closed his eyes, not wishing to see his brother in pain. This had to be done- he didn't want to kill the corrupted guardian, he just needed to knock some sense into him- or knock him unconscious. Either works.

Dream sighed, reopening his eyes and taking a step back.

"Brother.." He mumbled.

Nightmare remained quiet, silently seething in pain.

"This isn't right- I know how much the villagers hurt you but that doesn't mean you should resort to violence. I love you and I miss you so much- do you have any idea how much I'm hurting?" A few tears slipped out of Dream's eye-sockets as he spoke. "I want to help you- I'm sure there's still a part of you inside that I can reason with. Please come back to me- to us."

Nightmare closed his eye and for a split second Dream thought he was genuinely considering it.

"Dream..." He mumbled, reopening his eye. "It's too late. Nothing you can say will change me! I'm going to kill you and every last person in this pitiful village."

Three more tentacles erupted out of Nightmare's back and pushed against the strings that restrained them, severing them and breaking himself free. He jumped away, limping slightly. He may have gotten free but those damn strings had taken a toll on him.

"Dream, I don't think he can be reasoned with." Blue mumbled sadly.

Dream stayed still in shock for a few seconds before releasing a broken laugh and wiping away his tears with his gloved hands.

"Not yet- but I have an idea." Error piped up.

The destroyer barely had the chance to talk as Nightmare suddenly swung one of his tentacles at Error, thwacking him and knocking him backwards.

"Error!" Dream and Blueberry cried out simultaneously.

Error fell backwards onto the concrete ground, instantly blacking out.

"Oh stars, this is bad." Dream said, voice wavering.

Nightmare sneered, turning away from Error and facing his brother.

"You can't save me- stop trying. Either kill me and become the hero of the village or become another victim of mine."

Dream shook his head.

"I will save you!" He exclaimed. His breathing had quickened and suddenly it was hard to breath. He wheezed, wiping away the tears that kept building up in the depths of his eye-sockets. Nightmare tutted.

"You're delusional." He mumbled, clicking his fingers and teleporting away into another area of the village.

Dream spun around, eyes landing on Error's unconscious form and Blue crouched down beside him.

"Error's dead." Blue sighed dramatically.

"Error's not dead." Dream mumbled quietly, shambling over towards the two and crouching down beside Error across from Blue.

"Look- he's still breathing. He's fine."

Blue perked up and cheered.

"Blue- you need to get Error out of here. Take him to my house and then teleport back."

Blueberry saluted and grabbed Error's arm, closing his eyes and teleporting them both away. Dream let out a breath he didn't realise he was holding and closed his eyes, trying to focus on Bonnie's positivity again.

His blood ran cold and his eyes shot open.

"Bonnie!" He cried out, heaving himself back up and frantically dashing towards the fruit and vegetable shop where the bunny lived.

--End--

I'm sorry to end it like that

No I'm not I love leaving you on cliff hangers.

Also, this is important:

On Friday I will be going to my grandparents and staying with them for 6 weeks. This means that updates will no longer follow a pattern and be completely random. I apologise and I will try my best to update at least once or twice a week.
