Blissful

adoRABLE-

Brush your teeth before you cross the road.

"Brother, why are you standing on the table?" Dream asked, folding his arms and staring with a raised brow at Nightmare.

"I have no idea." Nightmare replied with, blinking in confusion. Why was he standing on the table?

Nightmare shrugged to himself, hopping of the table and dusting his hands. Dream rolled his eyes in amusement- what a weird way to start the day.

"I have a strange brother." He mumbled to himself, loud enough for Nightmare to hear.

"Hey, I'm not strange, everyone stands on a table once in their life." He defended, folding his arms and pretending to be offended. Dream laughed softly at the response.

"If you say so, Night." He responded with, turning away to go into the kitchen. Nightmare watched Dream walk away, debating whether or not to follow him. Having come to a decision, Nightmare headed in the same direction as Dream had, entering the kitchen.

Dream glanced behind him, noticing Nightmare following him.

"Are you following me?" He asked curiously.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"I'm bored." Nightmare grumbled, looking downwards momentarily. Dream smiled softly, turning around to fully face his brother.

"How about we go outside?" He suggested, pointing to the back door. Nightmare glanced at the door and then out of the window (which was amazingly not broken yet). It looked like a nice day, the sun was shining and the sky was a lovely shade of blue, clouds scarce but visible. Nightmare turned back to look at his brother and nodded. "Okay, let's go outside." He agreed, giving Dream a small smile. Dream nodded back, a mischievous grin forming as he turned towards the window. He got ready to run at it however before he could even take a step, Nightmare grabbed him by the collar and gave him a glare.

"No."

Dream pouted, looking down sadly.

"But-"

"No. I will not let you break anymore windows." Nightmare huffed, opening the back door with his free hand and stepping outside, letting go of Dream's collar once they were both outside. Dream folded his arms, still pouting like an angered child. Nightmare shut the back door and folded his arms as well, staring at Dream with a quizzical look.

Dream continued to pout before sticking his tongue out at Nightmare. The corner of Nightmare's mouth twitched upwards into a small grin, returning the gesture by sticking his tongue out at Dream.

Dream giggled, smiling cheerfully. "Let's play tag!" He exclaimed with starry eyes.

"Fine. You're it." Nightmare stated, turning away and beginning to run. Dream giggled again, chasing after Nightmare happily.

The two continued to play tag together in the overgrown grass for quite a while.

"You're it!" Dream voiced, tapping Nightmare and sprinting away. Nightmare grinned widely, hurrying after Dream.

"You will never catch me!" Dream taunted, running towards The Tree Of Feelings excitedly. Nightmare rolled his eyes at the statement.

"We'll see about that." He mumbled to himself, smiling still as he ran after Dream, gradually catching up to him. He was almost able to tag Dream, he just needed to get a little closer.

Dream squeaked in surprise at how quick Nightmare had caught up to him, running around The Tree Of Feelings in hopes of confusing him. Nightmare quickly caught on and stopped, turning around and waiting for Dream. Dream squeaked again as he ran into his brother. Nightmare chuckled, holding Dream to keep him balanced so neither of them would fall down the small hill that the tree stood on. The two ended up laughing together, taking a seat in front of the tree and leaning against the bark.

"That was fun." Dream spoke joyfully, smile never fading. Nightmare looked over at him and nodded, a small, blissful smile on his face. Dream's smile seemed to widen at the smile on his brother's face. Seeing Nightmare smile made him happy.

"Yeah, it was."

The two sat in a comfortable silence, both feeling content and tranquil and their surroundings serene.

There was a soft breeze causing the leaves in The Tree Of Feelings to bristle softly, birds singing pleasantly all the while. Pink, beautiful flowers bloomed around the roots of the tree, swaying delicately in the breeze.

Dream looked down at the flowers in admiration, plucking one from out of the ground and placing it in the centre of his crown he dawned. Nightmare stared at him with amusement.

"You just killed a flower." He mumbled light-heartedly.

"Oh no!" Dream cried out, feeling remorseful as he pulled the flower out of his crown and held it in his hands, staring at it sadly.

Nightmare raised a brow. "Relax, I'm just messing with you." He soothed, patting Dream's head.

"So I didn't kill it?" Dream asked, full of hope. Nightmare glanced sideways as he answered "No, you didn't kill it."

Dream cheered happily, once again putting the flower back in the centre of his crown. Nightmare looked back at him and smiled softly.

The two remained leaned against the tree for most of the day, talking about nonsense and cracking jokes occasionally. It was peaceful. It was blissful. It was nice.

. . .

Let's hope the two will be with each other forever.

It'd be a shame if...

Something separated them both.
