Clawsome Furrends

Thank you Sesha_x_Carmalide for this pawsome suggestion :3 I hope you all enjoy and remember to brush your teeth before you cross the road

"Thank you, Miss Witch!"

The old goat-woman grinned toothily at the guardian of positivity, mumbling a "you're welcome" and watching the skeleton exit the shack.

Dream giggled mischievously to himself, clutching a familiar, vivid pink potion with a golden cat charm wrapped around the cork securely. His friends, Error and of course his brother were all going to have another sleepover together and maybe Dream wanted to cause a small catastrophe. He chuckled as he began to tread back in the direction of his house with a playful glint in his eyes. He knew it wouldn't cause too much chaos, he just wanted to see how his friends would react to being transformed into cats.

"This should be fun." He told himself, smile never leaving his face as he wandered out of the village.

Nightmare sighed, staring at his and Dream's depressed pet rock, Keith, with mild interest. He was sat at the dining table with the rock across from him while he waited patiently for Dream and the others to arrive for the sleepover. He didn't know where Dream had gone- he'd rushed off saying something about having a "purrfect idea" and unless he returned with a cat, Nightmare wasn't interested.

"Isn't my brother a weirdo, Keith?" He asked, folding his arms on the table and resting his head in them as he eyed the rock. Of course he received no answer- he's talking to a rock.

"We need to get you some therapy lessons." He sighed dramatically, closing his eyes.

"I think you're the one who needs the therapy lessons." A distorted voice snorted, startling Nightmare.

He flung his eyes opened and squinted at Keith.

"Did you just talk to me?"

He jumped at the sudden glitchy laughter that resounded through the kitchen and spun around to face Error, blushing slightly in embarrassment.

"You idiot." Error choked out between laughter, leaning against the counter with his arms folded.

Nightmare huffed, turning away from the other skeleton and refusing to acknowledge him. Error's booming laughter gradually began to subside and he sauntered over towards the other skeleton, resting a hand on the table and peering down at Keith.

"Why does your pet rock look depressed?" He asked after a few seconds of scrutinising Keith. "How is that even possible?"

Nightmare glanced at the destroyer and Keith, shrugging in response.

"Ask Dream." He replied bluntly.

As if on cue, the front door was brutally kicked open and Dream strolled into the house with a smug expression on his face. Error let out a weird noise of surprise, leaping away from the table and glaring at the guardian of positivity. Now it was Nightmare's turn to laugh. Error narrowed his eyes at Nightmare, grumbling something incoherent while the 'ERROR' signs around him spasmed frantically.

"Hello Error, hello Nootmare." Dream greeted with a grin, pocketing the pink concoction and closing the door before walking into the kitchen.

Error grinned and Nightmare huffed.

"Your brother called you a weirdo." Error snitched, smirking when Nightmare scowled at him.

"Error called me an idiot."

Dream's grin changed into a soft smile as he watched the two start to bicker. Even if they were arguing, he could sense the positive emotions within them both- they were happy. He opened his mouth to say something however was interrupted by the front door once again being kicked open.

"Oh no it's that thing." Error whined.

Blueberry giggled as he came into view, immediately making eye-contact with Dream and running towards him with a large grin.

"Hello!" He greeted, hugging the other skeleton.

Dream laughed, returning the hug and the greeting. Ink entered the house a moment later, inspecting the door with a sympathetic look before shutting it behind him. He sighed softly, turning to face the kitchen and locking eyes with Error. The destroyer stuck his tongue out at Ink, an unsightly gesture he'd picked up from Blue.

"Well that's not very nice." Ink murmured, stepping into the kitchen and sticking his tongue out in retaliation at Error.

Nightmare watched them with dull interest, squeaking in surprise when he felt arms envelop him in a hug.

"Hello, Night" Blue greeted, hugging the other skeleton happily. Nightmare froze momentarily, relaxing slightly and awkwardly hugging the skeleton back.

"Hi, Blueberry."

After they'd all said hello to each other, they began to discuss what they should do first. Ink suggested drawing, Error suggested destroying Ink's drawings, Blueberry and Dream suggested hide and seek and Nightmare suggested sleeping. It took almost ten minutes for them to finally pick something to do- hide and seek was the chosen game. Mainly because Nightmare and Ink couldn't say no to Dream's sad eyes and Blueberry's equally as sad eyes. Error couldn't care less, he just wanted chocolate.

"I'll count first- in the kitchen!" Dream declared, heading into the kitchen with intent. Nightmare tilted his head, already knowing his brother was up to something however decided not to pry.

"Okay, count to a minute!" Ink called out.

"That's a lot of numbers." Dream whined however agreed, covering his eyes and beginning to count.

Blueberry immediately bolted up the stairs, examining the rooms before entering Nightmare's and hiding under the bed with a giggle. Ink scanned the living room, leaning Broomie against the wall near the stairs and crawling behind the couch. Nightmare treaded up the stairs quietly and entered the bathroom, hiding in the bath behind the shower curtain. Error used his blue strings to get up onto the ceiling, hiding in the corner near the kitchen so Dream wouldn't spot him when he exited.

Dream uncovered his eyes once he'd reached twenty, briefly checking his surroundings before grasping the potion. He carefully placed it onto the counter and walked towards the refrigerator, retrieving a large carton of apple juice. He closed the fridge door as quietly as possible and placed the carton beside the potion, all the while still counting. He had twenty seconds left. Hastily yet cautiously, he opened a cabinet and grabbed four glasses. Fifteen seconds left. He poured a generous amount of apple juice into each glass and then popped the cork off of the potion, distributing it equally between each glass. Eight seconds. He used his telekinesis to lift and dispose of the now empty glass bottle and grabbed the carton of apple juice, practically running to the fridge and shoving it inside. Three, two, one.

"Coming, ready or not!" He called out, grinning victoriously to himself. He opted to wait until the game of hide and seek had finished before handing out the beverages and began the search for his friends and brother.

He hummed thoughtfully, padding towards Broomie and surveying the room. Surely Ink would be here if Broomie was here. Error watched him from above. The sound of slight shuffling behind the couch caught Dream's attention. He crouched down to peer behind and smiled brightly when he saw Ink.

"Found you!" He cheered, holding his hand out for Ink.

The artist smiled, grabbing Dream's hand and was pulled out from behind the couch.

"Let's check upstairs!" Dream suggested, tugging Ink along. Ink nodded, catching sight of Error from the corner of his eye. He stopped and stared at the destroyer with a slightly bewildered expression- he was literally a spider. Error brought one finger to his mouth and made the quiet gesture and for once Ink obeyed, deciding to not tell Dream and instead trailing after him up the stairs. Error smirked, crawling on the ceiling out from the corner and entering the kitchen. He stared down at the counter, noticing the freshly poured apple juice. Dream definitely did something to the drinks.

Ink and Dream both entered the guardian of positivity's room, searching for any sign of a skeleton while making small talk.

"How have you and Nightmare been?" Ink asked, checking under Dream's bed.

"We've been good." Dream answered. "I had a nightmare a while ago and Nightmare saw a horrible vision but apart from that everything's fine."

Ink paused, eyeing Dream with an undecipherable expression before smiling.

"Oh, well I'm glad everything's okay now." He said cheerily.

Dream grinned and nodded. The two concluded that no skeletons were hiding in Dream's bedroom and went to check the next room- the bathroom. Dream immediately noticed the drawn shower curtain and wasted no time in yanking it open, beaming brightly when he saw Nightmare.

"Found you!" Dream giggled, holding his hand out. Nightmare smiled softly, grabbing Dream's hand and stepping out of the bathtub carefully. Ink observed them.

"Let's check Nightmare's room next." He eventually spoke, gaining the two brother's attention. They both agreed and all three left the bathroom, entering the guardian of negativity's room. Nightmare smiled, noticing a blue boot protruding from underneath the bed. He crouched down and rested his skull on the carpet, peeking under and locking eyes with bright blue stars.

"Found you, Blue." Nightmare chuckled.

Blueberry let out a cry of defeat before giggling, scurrying out from under the bed and jumping up. Nightmare heaved himself back up, smoothing out the crinkles in his clothes and subconsciously patting Blueberry on the head. Blue beamed brightly, feeling appreciated.

"Now all who's left is Error!" Dream announced.

"I wonder where he could be." Ink mused.

"Well what room haven't you checked?" Nightmare asked, turning to face his brother.

Dream pondered, folding his arms and thinking hard.

"The kitchen!" He suddenly exclaimed, causing everyone to jump. He snickered at the reaction before turning on his heel and exiting the room, gesturing for the others to follow him. They all padded down the stairs and headed towards the kitchen. Ink was somewhat surprised to see Error had moved from his original position. All four entered the kitchen and glanced around the room. Ink checked the ceiling, noticing the destroyer concealed in the shadows above the fridge.

"Found Spider-Sans." he snorted, gesturing towards Error. All eyes turned to stare at where Ink was pointing. The destroyer grumbled something about betrayal as he clambered down from the roof onto the fridge and then onto the tiled floor.

"You were on the roof?" Nightmare asked incredulously. Error turned to gaze at him and grinned toothily, nodding as he shoved his hands into his pockets.

"Yup."

The group of friends all played some more rounds of hide and seek until they eventually grew bored and decided to do something else.

"Hey, how about we watch a movie?" Ink suggested, already approaching the rack of DVD's the two guardians had.

"Great idea!" Blueberry praised, hopping excitedly in place before diving towards the couch and making himself comfortable. Nightmare smiled softly; Blue was just like Dream.

"Yeah, let's watch that movie with that kid who has a blue shirt and yellow star on it- Universe something, right?" Ink trailed off, trying to think of the name.

Error thwacked the side of Ink's face. "He's called Steven Universe!" He scolded before realising what he just did.

Ink stared at Error, bemused. The destroyer let out a shriek, the 'ERROR' signs spasming rapidly and covering his entire form.  The skeleton suddenly froze and the 'ERROR' signs above twisted form into "Error.exe has crashed." A few seconds of silence passed before everyone burst into laughter, watching as Error began to reboot. He snapped back to life once the reboot bar reached the end and sputtered, his face flushing blue in embarrassment.

"What just happened?" Ink managed to choke out between laughter, leaning against Broomie for support. Error glowered, folding his arms and stalking away from the artist towards the couch where Blue sat giggling. He pointed accusingly at the small skeleton and grumbled something about disrespect as he sat down, making sure he was at the other end of the couch.

Nightmare, Dream and Ink's laughter soon began to subside and they resumed what they were doing. Ink flicked through the DVD's, smiling when he found the right one and pulled it out of the rack. He carefully removed it from the cover and opened the DVD player, inserting it into the machine. Dream and Ink immediately darted towards the couch, making themselves comfortable besides Blueberry. Error tensed and waited for a few seconds before deciding this was too close for comfort and ejecting himself from the couch.

"Hey Error, let's go get some snacks." Nightmare called out to him, noticing the sudden nervousness in the other skeleton.

Error shifted his focus to the guardian and nodded, trailing after Nightmare who had already began to venture towards the kitchen. Nightmare's eyes flickered towards the glasses of apple juice and he tilted his head slightly.

"I guess someone already poured some apple juice- but there's only four glasses."

"I don't want any." Error spoke up, folding his arms and glaring suspiciously at the juice.

Nightmare nodded, losing interest in the conveniently poured drinks and opening a cabinet.

"Chocolate?" Error asked.

Nightmare snorted and let out a few chuckles as he reached in and grabbed a small chocolate bar for the destroyer. He turned around with the candy and held it out for Error, grinning.

"I got some extra chocolate just for you so you better appreciate it." Nightmare said playfully.

A mix of blue and yellow dusted the destroyer's face as he took the chocolate, unsure with how to react. Why would someone do something for him? Error felt a small smile spread across his face. This must be what friends do, and he decides he likes having friends.

"Thanks." He mumbled, unwrapping the chocolate and munching on it.

Nightmare's grin softened, pleased with the look of content on his friend's face. He turned away and began to rummage through a different cabinet in search for some popcorn kernels. He fumbled around before spotting them in the corner. Nightmare sighed; he couldn't reach back there.

"Error."

"What?" the destroyer huffed, displeased with being interrupted from eating his chocolate.

"I can't reach the popcorn."

Error blinked before snickering, muttering "shorty" despite only being a few inches taller. He stepped towards the other and glanced into the cabinet, using his blue strings to grab the bag of popcorn kernels and throw them at the other skeleton. Nightmare let out a squeak of surprise, shielding himself as the popcorn made contact with him.

"I hate you." Nightmare grumbled, crouching down to retrieve the bag before standing back up and wandering over towards the microwave. Error chuckled, observing the other with mild interest.

Nightmare shoved the bag of kernels into the microwave and set the timer for three minutes, watching them spin for a few seconds until he moved away to grab a bowl. Error sat on the table, swinging his legs back and forth while still eating his chocolate and viewing the other. The guardian busied himself with slicing some apples, making sure to be cautious since he's known to be clumsy- can't forget when he nearly cut his finger off. Nightmare shuddered at the memory. He soon finished with the apples and scooped them all up, placing them into the bowl he'd originally gotten out for the popcorn. He opened the cupboard and obtained two more bowls, placing one down beside the apples and bringing the other one over to the microwave. The sound of a 'ding' resounded through the kitchen and Nightmare smiled at his timing. He jerked open the microwave's door and reached inside, grabbing the bag of popcorn and wincing slightly at the heat. It was very warm.

"Don't burn yourself." Error mumbled.

Nightmare glanced back at him, smiling widely.

"Error is worried for me." The guardian cooed, snorting at the look of exasperation on the destroyer's face.

"Burn yourself."

Nightmare chuckled at the response, tearing his eyes away from the other and plucking the bag out of the microwave. He quickly tore it open and emptied the contents into the bowl beside him, shaking it until there was no more popcorn left inside the bag. A single kernel fell into the bowl and Nightmare sighed in disappointment, picking up the failure and tossing it into the trash can. He glanced at the final empty bowl, trying to remember what else they needed.

"Is there any more chocolate?" Error asked hopefully.

'That's right- chocolate.' Nightmare mused. He didn't answer Error and instead treaded over towards the cabinet and swung it open, peeking inside for candy. He scrabbled around the cabinet in search for chocolate, pulling out three more bars and a bag of sugary sweets that Dream was obsessed with.

'Blue will probably like them too.' Nightmare thought, inwardly chuckling. He pushed the cabinet door shut and opened the sweets, emptying them into the bowl. He then started to unwrap each individual bar of chocolate and break them into pieces, scattering them into the bowl until they were all in. Error hopped off the table and stalked over towards the guardian, lazily trying to snatch the chocolate pieces.

"No." Nightmare scolded and Error surprisingly stopped.

Nightmare used his telekinesis to lift all three bowls of snacks up into the air and gestured towards the glasses of apple juice.

"You can hand out the drinks."

Error nodded, grabbing the tray with the drinks on and carrying them into the living room. Nightmare followed after him and placed the snacks on the coffee table.

"Apple juice!" Blue cried out in joy, jumping up and bolting towards a startled Error. He grabbed one of the glasses and happily sipped it.

Dream smiled, also standing up and stepping over towards Error. He accepted one of the glasses, somehow having completely forgotten that he had prepared them and spiked them with the cat potion. He happily drank the apple juice, sitting back down beside Blue on the couch. Error turned to Ink and cringed.

"Ew." He mumbled, almost shoving one of the glasses into his face.

Ink stuck his tongue out at the other, taking the drink and sipping it.

"Here Nightmare." Error called out, holding out the drink for him. Nightmare turned to him and smiled slightly, grasping the glass of apple juice and taking a large gulp of it. Oh how he loved apple juice.

All of the skeletons sat on the couch (except Error who opted to sit right by the bowl of candy) and Ink pressed play on the movie. About halfway through the movie, Nightmare and Blue had fallen asleep. Error suggested they should wake them however as he turned to argue with Ink, he noticed the artist and the guardian of positivity slowly drifting away as well. He frowned. Why was everyone so tired?

"Oh well, guess all the candy is mine." He shrugged, grabbing the bowl of candy and placing it in his lap.

Well, he must have also fallen asleep during the movie and he has no idea what the hell happened while he was asleep because the next thing he knows there's a small white cat in front of him with bright blue eyes and a large blue bow around it's neck.

"What the-" He stammered, peering down at the cat curiously. The cat meowed loudly, rushing away from the skeleton and pouncing onto the couch where Blue had sat. His eyes widened, noticing three other cat's beside him. The one next to the blue eyed cat was fluffy and had soft, lilac eyes with a golden-yellow crescent moon on it's forehead and a few other yellow markings. The one beside the lilac eyes looked similar- it had golden-yellow eyes and lots of yellow markings. The last one was a black and white cat with mismatched eyes- yellow and blue. It also wore a collar with different coloured vials attached to them. Error gradually started to piece everything together and stood up, peering down at the cats.

"How- Why?" Error stammered, glancing between them all. "You're all cats?"

The golden-yellow eyed one who he could safely assume was Dream sheepishly glanced at the glasses of apple juice and once again Error started to form an answer as to why this happened.

"When you were counting in the kitchen you made apple juice." He started, thinking hard about it. "You did some magic or something and when you all drank the juice you changed into cats."

Dream nodded and let out an apologetic meow. Error sighed heavily.

"Well, I can't leave you all alone as cats." He mumbled. Plus, he wouldn't admit it but he loved cute things and, well, cats are one of them.

The blue eyed cat- Blueberry meowed again, hopping down from the couch and running around frantically in the room. He explored the entire area, getting into places he couldn't before and overall looking very pleased with the situation. Dream watched the other cat for a few seconds until he lost interest and padded over towards the lilac eyed cat- Nightmare. He head-butted the other affectionately. Nightmare sat stoic, glaring slightly at nothing in particular. The mismatched eyed cat- Ink, sniffed around curiously. Error folded his arms, thinking about what to do now.

His thoughts were quickly interrupted by Blueberry pawing at his legs and beginning to climb up him while meowing hungrily. Error stared down at the cat, his eye-socket twitching slightly.

"What do you want, furball?" he huffed, gently shaking his leg and causing Blue to slide back down onto the carpeted floor. He supposes it's a good thing his haphephobia doesn't apply for animals.

Blue meowed loudly, circling Error's legs before bounding into the kitchen.

'I guess he's hungry.' Error pondered, hesitantly following the other cat. Nightmare followed Error with his eyes before standing up and stretching, releasing a loud yawn. He flicked his tail before hopping off the couch and trailing after Error and Blue. Dream rushed after him. Ink ignored everyone, satisfied with just looking around at everything from a cat's point of view.

"What the hell do cat's eat?" Error asked himself.

Nightmare clumsily leapt onto the counter and sniffed around for apples. He spotted the shiny red fruit in the distance and stalked towards them, aggressively batting the fruit and meowing at Error.

"Of course you want apples." Error huffed, treading towards the cat and plucking the apple that Nightmare was attacking out of the fruit bowl. He grabbed a knife and sliced it up; Nightmare kept stealing them each time he finished cutting a slice. Error chuckled, patting Nightmare on the head and scratching behind his ear. Nightmare paused, subconsciously leaning into the touch and purring. Error grinned, feeling warm and fuzzy inside from petting a cat. Blue made a weird yowling noise, trying to climb up Error again.

After some fussing about, Error successfully fed the other two cats some of the apple slices and wandered into the living room with a few more in search for the last cat.

"Ink?" Error called out, glancing around. His eyes were immediately drawn to Broomie (Ink's giant paintbrush) when he noticed the bristles moving. Ink's tiny cat-face popped out through the bristles and peered curiously at Error. Despite his hate for the artist, he couldn't help but smile and laugh softly. He crouched down and tentatively pet the cat before placing the apple slices in front of him.

"Eat."

Ink sniffed them until he deemed them safe enough to eat and began to munch on them. Error watched him for a few seconds before heaving himself back up and heading towards the couch, falling back into the comfort of the soft material. He closed his eyes momentarily however they suddenly opened when he felt a presence beside him. Nightmare stared back at Error, padding onto his chest and curling up into a ball. Error's mouth twitched up into a small smile and he lifted a hand up to pet the cat. Nightmare purred absentmindedly, closing his eyes and slowly starting to drift into sleep.

Until Blue hopped onto the couch and meowed loudly at Nightmare, wanting to play. Nightmare opened one eye and grumpily hissed at Blue, closing his eyes again. Blue's ears flattened sadly and he hopped off the couch, sadly walking away.

"You're a mean cat." Error huffed, flicking Nightmare's forehead. Nightmare opened his eyes in recognition at the small action, glancing over at Dream for a few seconds.

Blue had approached Dream and the two had started playfully fighting with each other. Nightmare watched them both for a few minutes while Error continued to pet him. Eventually, the lilac-eyed cat fell asleep on the destroyer's chest, breathing steadily. Error closed his eyes, beginning to also grow tired again.

Dream and Blue continued to play for a while until they decided to hunt down Ink who had seemingly vanished. They both searched around different areas, trying to sniff out the other feline. The sudden smell of paint filled their noses and the two cats shared a look before padding up the stairs. Once they'd managed to clamber up the stairs, the smell of paint became stronger. Blue and Dream curiously sniffed at Dream's bedroom door, pushing the ajar door open with their heads and entering the room.

Ink was perched on Dream's drawers with a paintbrush in his mouth and black ink on his fur. Dream hopped onto the bed and pounced across to the drawers, peering down at the mess Ink had made. There was an opened tube of black paint and a few ink stains inside the drawer. Dream hissed slightly, angrily batting Ink. The black and white cat blinked, batting Dream in response. Blue mewed repetitively, trying to get them to stop fighting.

"What are doing?" Error asked, appearing in the doorway with an irritated Nightmare at his heels.

All of the cats froze and turned to stare at Error. The destroyer noticed the ink stains on Ink and face-palmed.

"Even as a cat you're dumb." He grumbled, approaching Ink and scooping him up into his arms. Ink hissed at Error, batting him in the face. Nightmare hissed up at Ink, angrily flicking his tail. Blue and Dream hissed because everyone else was hissing.

Error sighed for the hundredth time, turning away and carrying Ink out of the room towards the bathtub. He had to get the wet paint off of Ink's fur and he was not looking forwards to it at all. He knew how cats acted when exposed to water and he's fairly certain Ink is going to give him a bad time. He opened the bathroom door and clutched Ink tighter when he felt the cat begin to squirm.

"Stop fidgeting- I need to clean the paint off of you." Error huffed, turning the faucet and holding a hand under the stream of water until it was the right temperature. He placed the plug in and filled the bath up a little bit, making sure it wasn't too full so he didn't accidentally drown Ink. Once satisfied, he turned off the faucet and placed Ink into the water. Ink immediately hissed and began to splash around, unsheathing his claws and trying to scratch the skeleton in retaliation.

"Scratch me and I'll drown you." Error growled, looming over the cat. Ink paused, slightly intimidated by Error and reluctantly retracted his claws. Error let out a breath of relief, beginning to wash out the ink out of the cat's fur.

It took some time and a lot of effort but the destroyer had eventually managed to clean Ink's fur. He lifted the cat out of the water and emptied the bathtub, placing Ink on a towel and rubbing him dry with it. When Error removed the towel, Ink's fur was all puffed up and Error found that adorable.

"Wow, you look clawful." Error snickered.

Ink hissed at the destroyer, flicking his tail angrily and darting out of the bathroom.

"That feline has a lot of cattitude."

Error chuckled quietly at his pun, standing up and tossing the towel under the sink. Nightmare can deal with it later when he's back to normal. He treaded out of the bathroom and closed the door behind him, glancing around. He assumed that all of the cats were in the living room again so made his way downstairs to check on them all.

He shuffled towards the couch, noticing Nightmare sitting down and staring at him expectantly.

"What do you want, furball?" he asked, slumping down onto the couch beside Nightmare lazily. The cat simply blinked before standing up and climbing onto Error's chest, once again curling up into a ball. Error smiled, petting the cat happily. Dream glanced up at them and hopped onto the couch, clambering onto Error's chest as well and curling up beside his brother. Error grinned, petting the other cat.

"It'll be unfurtunate when you all turn back into skeletons- I prefer the cats." He joked, poking Dream's forehead. Dream closed his eyes, purring quietly. Error yawned, feeling himself growing more tired by the minute.

It didn't take long before he was fast asleep with the two cats curled up on his chest. Blue had eventually tired himself out from running around wildly and hopped onto the couch beside Error, laying on his back and falling asleep with his paws in the air. Ink hesitantly stared at them all before copying Blue and hopping onto the couch beside Error. The cat head-butted Error's arm before making himself comfortable, falling asleep as soon as he closed his eyes.
