"oh shit... My head feels like it will burst" ace said holding his head.

Looks like drinking this much booze isn't good.

Everybody in dining looks okay.

"Wtf?" Thought ace.

"Here.." thatch said as he give ace a bowl of soup and luffy his breakfast.

"Drink this it will help with the headache"

"Ace it was so fun yesterday, did you enjoyed your birthday?" Luffy asked happily.

Ace closed his eyes for a moment, the headache is too much and luffy's shouting/loud voice isn't helping at all.

"Hmmm it was good" ace whispered.

"What ? Ace i didn't hear you properly" luffy whined, he hates when ace say things under his breath.

Ace doesn't want to lash out on his brother, he really hates it. He doens't like when luffy gets sad.

"Luffy the birthday was so fun and I'm really happy but we will talk later okay. My head hurts." Ace said trying to sound as calm as possible.

"Luffy are you done? If yes, then should we go outside" izou asked coming near them as he noticed ace's irritated face.

As soon as he said that they heard a cannonball being fired at them.

Ace and izou looked at each other and then at luffy.

"Luffy stay with the cook here, we will be right back" ace said and hurried outside with izou and some other members.

"Marco! What's happening here?" Ace asked panicked.

"Ahh don't worry ace yoi some no name rookies are trying to attack our ship, you know how it is. Every other pirate come here thinking that they can a fight against a yonko. It's not a big deal yoi" Marco said as he watched jack shooting cannonballs back, with thatch and his division going on their ship and fighting them easily.

Not even five minutes later the no name pirate begged for his life.

"Wow, now that's pathetic" ace said as he judged that pirates with izou who also nodded his head, agreeing with him.

"I know right, some small frys really think that they could really come and defeat whitebeard. Stupid kids yoi" Marco said smirking.

"Luffy no!" They heard someone yell, they all turned to look at a cook running behind luffy trying to catch him but failing miserably.

"Oyy luffy, what are you doing? Didn't ace told you to stay Inside with cooks. Why did you come out?" Izou asked.

"Well i didn't hear any cannon anymore and ace was here too, so I came too" luffy said pouting.

Ace can feel his headache coming back.

"Luffy can't you understand a single thing, why are you so stubborn huh!? You always do this, you never listen to other people and always do whatever you want. You are such a pain in the ass luffy" ace yelled irritately and went away from there.

They all watched silently.

Luffy felt bad and sad. Big fat Tears were coming out of his but he hid his face with his hat.

"Luffy yoi" Marco whispered softly.

But luffy just ran away from there to God knows where.

"What happened Marco?" Thatch asked as he come back after taking all the treasure from that no name pirate.

"Ace yelled at luffy yoi" Marco said as he looked in the direction where luffy went.

Thatch's eyes widened , he could never imagine ace yelling at luffy, that promising eyes he saw when ace came here for the first time. Those eyes which clearly says that- touch him(luffy) and I will make your life living hell. That overprotective brother yelled at his little brother.

"I will go to ace" thatch said but soon was stopped by izou.

"Listen thatch let the brothers handle it, ace is angry and luffy is sad let them solve it by themselves and trust me on this, I have brother too yk" izou said calmly staring straight into thatch's eyes.

Thatch nodded his head and went away to the kitchen with others.

Time skip to dinner.

Nobody saw luffy for the whole day and ace came during snacks time but luffy he didn't came which made ace worried and guilty.

He was having a real bad headache and then luffy came out carelessly what if it was marine and not some no name pirate. Ace got scared when he saw how luffy came outside without even a care.

"Ace?" Thatch asked as he saw ace spaced out and not eating his food.

"Where is luffy?" Ace asked because luffy is not someone who would miss his food.

"Dunno, might be here somewhere"

Thatch looked at him raising his eyebrow.

"Are you worried?" Thatch asked, ace nodded his head.

"I know it was really bad of me to yell at him but you know even after we told him to not to come out because it can be something dangerous yet he still came, he always does this. One time I almost lost him to some stupid asshole" ace said as he looked down feeling more and more guilty.

Thatch immediately thought of that jam pirate that luffy mentioned and let's not forget that red dog.

" look ace I know you were worried, but you shouldn't have yelled at him." Thatch said as he put his hand on ace's shoulder.

"I'm sorry" ace said looking down.

"It's alright but make sure to talk with him" thatch said to which ace nodded.

After dinner...

When ace looked everywhere but he couldn't find him. Tiredly he checked every room and finally found luffy sleeping under a table in their own room.

Ace smiled finally he found luffy after searching for 3 hours.

He took luffy in his arms and laid him on bed and covered him with his blanket while putting his hat near him on night stand.

He started patting luffy's head which made luffy smile in his sleep.

Ace chuckled. Remembering luffy's childhood. When he first met him.

Flashback...

Ace wasn't happy at all since he get to know that garp is coming again to meet- no to train him.

Oh gosh his fist of love hurt like hell.

As he was standing outside trying to find a way to escape from that brutal love.

He saw a small kid probably 2-3, years riding garps back while sleeping as he gave him a piggyback.

"Oyy ace!" Garp yelled happily.

"Hii old geezer" ace said rudely for which he got fist of love and a yell of "call me grandpa you brat"which broke luffy's sleep.

Luffy yawned as he looked at his surroundings and when his eyes spotted ace he smiled so brightly that even sun rays would look less bright infront of his smile.

"Ace meet your little brother luffy. He is 3 years old and from now on he is going to live with you guys" garp declared, ignoring the protest from dadan and her bandits.

"YO! Me is luffy" luffy said happily and giggled cutely.

Ace ignored him as he isn't used of seeing such shiny innocent eyes and bright smiles.

Few days later when that stupid 3 year old little kid didn't stopped chasing ace around despite him ignoring his very existence, ace give in.

"You know when men exchange cup of sake they can become brothers" a 10 years old said.

And poured sake In some small cups.

"From today onwards we are brothers" ace said smiling with luffy smiling and agreeing with him.

Flashback ends...

Ace smiled while remembering this moments , luffy was so cute running behind him everyday shouting "ash ash ash" wasn't even able to pronounce his name but wanted to be friends with him.

Ace looked at luffy and kissed his forehead.

few tears left his eyes when he remembered a letter from someone and luffy's crying face when they lost him.

"Don't worry, my little sunshine I won't let anyone hurt you in anyway not even myself and please forgive me I'm sorry for yelling at you" ace said as he wiped his tears covering himself with the blanket, he hugged luffy to his chest drifted off to sleep.

For ace, luffy is his safe place and for luffy ace is his only family In this world.

"Admiral akainu, we will reach orange town tomorrow morning or at noon and according to our source whitebeard pirates are still docked there" a navy soldier informed.

"Hmm good, you can go now" akainu dismissed that marine.

"Just few hours and then that devil spawn will be dead with burning magma" akainu said smirking while melting one of the transponder snail in his hand.
