Ace was left there all alone. There was alot in his mind. But one thing was clear that no matter what, he is going to ask whitebeard the same question, he just wants to see that what Marco said is true or not? There father can really accept him? The son of a devil.

"Ace" ace  looked up to see luffy running towards him.

Luffy jumped in ace's arms and hugged him tightly, ace hugged him back.

Luffy looked up and asked ace.

"Ace,why didn't you come for the dinner, you know today's dinner was so good. Thatchy gave me diffrent types of meat and he even made apple pie for me, it was tasty. Umm... I'm sorry ace i ate the whole pie" luffy pouted after saying that.

"It's okay lu. I didn't even wanted to eat pie in the first place." Ace said and luffy nodded smiling again. Ace just hugged him while smiling.

At this moment ace realised that no matter what happens, no matter how many people hate him, no matter how devilish his blood is-luffy will always love him, cherish him and will always be grateful that ace was born.

Ace wasn't nervous anymore, he doesn't care if they accept him or not, he doesn't care if whitebeard kick him out of this ship as long as he has luffy by his side nothing matter.

His little brother's love and care is enough for him, his little brother is his family.

"Luffy I'm going to have a talk with whitebeard,the captain. Do you want to come with me or you are going to stay here?" Ace asked.

"I will come with you ace" luffy said with a smile.

Both the brothers went outside to the captain's room, it was dark, ace only hoped that the old captain isn't asleep.

Both of them made Their way to captain's room. Ace took a deep breath, he was about to knock on the door when izou came.

"Ace, what are you doing here infront of oyaji's room? And that too this late? Is something wrong?" Izou asked.

"Nothing is wrong, I just wanted to talk to your captain about something" ace said plainly.

Izou raised his eyebrow and looked at ace. Izou might or might not know what ace is going to talk about with oyaji. But he is sure that the outcome will be good.

"Oh.. okay go ahead"izou said.

"Luffy you have to stay outside you can't come inside with me, okay." Ace said while looking at luffy who just pouted.

"But ace I want to meet giant ossan too." Ace sighed at that.

"Hey, luffy come with me. you asked me before about my clothes and how to use that fan which I always have right. I will show you now come with me." Izou said trying to help ace and it worked luffy eye's sparkled and he instantly went with izou.

After taking a deep breath, ace knocked on door. After some seconds he went in.

Whitebeard was sitting on his big chair when ace come inside.

"Ace, what are you doing here? Do you need something" whitebeard asked a little confusing.

Ace looked up only to see whitebeard sitting on his chair with a barrel of booze in his hand.

Before ace was able to process anything or stop himself from saying anything, the words come out of his mouth.

"Forget about that, why are you drinking booze huh? Didn't the nurse said you shouldn't drink so much. it's bad for your health." Ace widened his eyes when he realised what he said.

With a scowl he turned his head sideways avoiding looking at whitebeard out of embarrassment.

"Tch. I mean If you drink so much and die, then what is going to happen to your so called children." Ace said rudely.

Whitebeard just smile at him. He knows that soon this brat is also going to call him oyaji.

"Okay okay, so ace whats wrong?" Whitebeard ask.

"Umm... I-i, you said that you want me join you crew right?" Ace said to which whitebeard nodded.

"And you claim that you accept everyone" whitebeard raised his eyebrow at that.

"Ace.. I don't claim that- i really accept everyone as my child." Whitebeard said with a small smile thinking back to how he got his childrens.

"Oh is that it ?" Ace said mockingly.
"Then can you accept the son of devil huh? Can you accept me? Who is a living sin, who should never been born huh. do you think you could accept some one like me in your family....." Ace whispered last part hiding his eyes with his bangs.

"You..." Ace glared at him with hatred and so much pain in his eyes.

"Do you think you can accept me, a devil spawn huh! My real name is gol d ace - I'm son of the pirate king. I'm that asshole's son, I have a devils blood in my veins, I'm son of your rival, the man whom the world hates. What? What are you looking at huh? Go ahead say whatever hateful words you want to say, go ahead and kill me, throw me out or sold me to navy. What happened huh? Why aren't you saying anyth-"

Ace was surprised when a big hand covered his back and he was pulled into an hug.

(He hugged ace the same way he hugged squardo when he stabbed whitebeard in marineford arc)

"Calm down ace, it's alright. Everything is alright" whitebeard said softly like he is talking to a toddler.

The gentleness and softness in whitebeard's voice and that fatherly hug, made ace tear up.

"Don't think so lowly of yourself, i accepted you as my son the moment you came here asking us, to help your brother and it hurts me to see any of my son thinking about themselves like that or hurting like that" and for the First time since entering this room he dared to look at whitebeard properly not glaring.

"Ace my son.. i don't know what people told you but I don't care, we all are childrens of the sea and a parents sins shouldn't be dumped on his/her child. It doesn't matter what your parents did ace. It has nothing to do with you and you are not a devil, you came here asking for help for your brother even though you didn't wanted to. Do you think a devil could do anything like that? You were ready to die for your brother, do you think a devil could do something like that?"

" Trust me ace you are a kind kid and this World is cruel. You don't need to be tied down to this cruel things, join me and my family where we love each other, take care of each other and Willing to do anything for eachother. Become my son ace." Oyaji said softly with a small smile.

There was a warm feeling spreading in his chest he never thought that someone could say something like that to him, he never thought that there are people besides luffy who will accept someone like ace, he never thought he could get a family, specially a great Father.

Tears were flowing down ace's cheeks, he felt happy and for the first time in his life, he felt relieved that it doesn't matter who his father is.

Whitebeard moved back to sit on his chair.

"Tell me ace, are you willing to join my family and take up my mark?"

Ace nodded while tears were still running down his face.

"I will, I want to be part of your family. OYAJI"

Ace smiled through tears for the first time since he came here on this ship.

Whitebeard gently smiled at him, when ace called him oyaji it warmed his heart, everytime someone join his family and call him oyaji for the time. It always made him feel warm and happy.

"Ace.. I don't know what people told you but Roger wasn't as bad as people portray him, he was good man and he wasn't my rival, I mean we were but before that he was my friend. A very good friend" oyaji ended his sentence with a smile.

" Tomorrow I going to officialy accept you and announce everyone that they got another brother and that you officially decided to join us." Ace nodded towards whitebeard.

"Then, I will take my leave now. Oyaji. Thankyou very much for accepting me." Ace bowed his head down.

"Good night oyaji" ace said and took his leave from there.

When ace come out of the room, luffy ran up to him with izou.

"Ace, you are back" luffy said happily to which ace nodded smiling.

Ace smiled at izou which made izou weird out because ace only looked at them with a scowl.

"Izou I need your help" izou raised his eyebrow but came near ace.

Ace whispered somthing in his ear which instantly lighten up izou's face.

"Sure ace, so tomorrow morning after breakfast okay." Ace nodded while showing a 👍🏻.

"Okay so bye ace and luffy, my shift is over I'm going to bed now. Good night and sleep tight." Izou said and went to his room to get his beauty sleep.

"Lets go luffy we have to sleep too, it's already late" luffy nodded and both of them started walking towards their room.

In marineford ~

"Knock knock"

"Admiral akainu, we found where whitebeard pirates are and it's confirmed that they have that kid whom you are searching." A marine said.

"Good, go and prepare battle ship, we are going right now."

"Yes" the Navy bowed down and went away to prepare the ships.

"Just you wait dragon's son, I will not let you live peacefully. Devil spawn has to die and i will definitely kill you."
