I smile to Sarah as we enter the movie premiere. I slide my black masquerade mask off. I did enjoy wearing those in the gala and holding up a sort of cinderella type fantasy in my head.

I have no idea how she just talked our way into this event. She loops her arm with mine and squeals when she sees the hot co-star in the row ahead of us. I sit down as she goes and mingles. I have a horrible, horrible headache.

I stare at the poster of Kingo, the movie star. In a trance.

God I feel like I'm going to be sick.

The movie starts and I see Sarah sat down on the male co-leads lap. If I just snuck out right now would she mind?

I slide my phone out of my pocket and text her "I'll be at the house. I think I am sick. Text me the address of where you and eyebrow guy are getting it on so I know where you've been murdered."

I nod and sigh slightly irritated. I stand up and scoot past the people beside me. I exit the theaters and as soon as the fresh air hits my face I take a deep breath

Feels so good.

I hear a screeching noise and I look to the sound confused.

I look up and walk over to the screaming crowd. Maybe I should have stayed home. People start sprinting away screaming and I am knocked to the ground. People run past me as I stand up groaning.

Fucking hell. That hurt.

I stand up and hear a loud screeching and growling. I look behind me seeing the deviant, which I thought was just a huge monster literally breathing down my neck.

People behind me sprint away. I stand frozen.

What the hell is this thing??

It screeches and lunges for me. I falter back attempting to sprint away. A hit made on me from the ugly things tentacle leaves a huge gash on my arm and I wince in pain. I dodge some swings of its as the tentacles lunge at me.

"Go away! Leave me alone! Fucking hell!!"

I hurl my phone at it bonking it right in the forehead. It looks at me angrier now. uh oh.

It has a forehead right? God that's such a stupid question to ask maya. And why are you referring to yourself in 3rd person. Dumb ass.

It screeches at me and grabs ahold of my ankle. "No! No! No! Let go of me!"

I kick at its tentacles pulling me on the asphalt towards it.

So this is it then, isn't it? I'm gonna die.

I attempt to pry its grimy arms and tentacles off of me.

I slice it with my house key and immediately it's wound closes. I look up shocked and confused.

How??

Oh I'm so dying today.

I don't even know what the hell is about to kill me.

"Gaia!"

I am thrown through a glass window with the hideous animal and I kick at it desperately attempting to gain my ankle back

Yellow beams of light are shot at it and the animal reels high pitch squeals and screeches making me crawl away from it and holding my ears.

Yellow beams shoot at it and I hear screaming

"Gaia!"

"Gaia!"

I stand up quickly, limping on my sliced up ankle. I run as fast as I can away from the little fight between knock off superman and the monster looking thing. I want to get the hell out of here. Now.

The deviant screeches and I hear it behind me. Noooo. Follow after the person hitting you first. I hear it's loud stomping of it's feet behind me.

No. No.

Not again!

Someone jumps behind me screaming and screeching. A man. Who the hell?

"AHHHHHH !!!!!! Gaia! Gaia! Hi love! I missed you! Help please??" He smiles to me and arches an eyebrow to his own question.

I keep running and Sprite says "Gaia!"

Sersi says "Sprite, go ahead. Go after her."

Sprite quickly runs after me. Well, she runs I limp and attempt to run away.

Sarah screams "Maya!! Oh my god! That's my best friend!!"

She runs towards me and freezes when she hears screeching.

"Oh my god!! Oh my god!!"

"Sarah! Come on!" I call for her.

She slows to a stop and says "It's kingo! Oh my god!"

I huff and say "We're gonna die and you're focusing on that!?"

She quickly runs over to me and quickly we run towards an alley. She says "You're bleeding."

"No shit. That monster or whatever kind of alien it was hit me and dragged me. While you were sitting on some actors lap!"

Her eyes widen and she says "How was I supposed to know you were getting mauled?!"

"Sshhh!"

I shush her and quickly we are cornered and surrounded by miscellaneous people. Sersi says "Gaia, are you alright?"

I look to Sarah confused and she says "Uh... I have mace and a gun in my purse. Leave us alone."

I mutter out "I have juicy fruit gum in my pocket..."

Kingo squeals as he runs away from the monster and past us "Ooo hi pretty girl! Hi Gaia!"

Sarah smiles and I swat her side. She puts her threatening face back on and I say "If you're going to attack us I will beat you with my shoes."

Sprite says "Gaia. It's Sprite and Sersi.."

"I'm not Gaia. Why do you keep calling me that?"

Sarah says "Yeah, she's Maya. I'm Sarah. I think you're after a different person."

Sersi says "Gaia quit it. It's Sersi. You were at my...wedding.."

She falters at the end of the sentence and I say "Look, whatever you weirdos want to do with me... I'm not interested. Just leave me alone."

Ikaris and Kingo walk towards us and Kingo says "Gaia introduce me to your hot friend."

Sarah smiles to him swooning over him. I glare at her and she says "Yeah maya introduce me."

Ikaris says "Ajak's been killed Gaia by the deviants."

I look to the man walking towards me with the lone patch of grey hair at the front of his hair.

God he's attractive. The hair... it's most definitely the hair.

I say annoyed "And who's Ajak?"

Kingo says "Sprite set you up to this didn't she? Sprite the pranks are-"

Sprite looks to Kingo and says "No... she wouldn't pretend not knowing me. I didn't do this."

Ikaris sighs and says "Gaia just tell us where Druig and Makkari are."

Sarah rubs Kingo's shoulder as he seeks comfort in her. "Yeah my muscles are just really sore. Fighting off all those disgusting deviants is hard work. My biceps hurt the most though."

She squeezes them and chuckles. Sersi says "Kingo knock it off."

I grit my teeth and say "Sarah stop it. We are going home and away from these people."

Kingo says "Gaia we need to find your husband Druig-"

Slight recognition flashes my face. But quickly it dissolves and my eyes turn white. I lunge forward at Ikaris with my fist now bright gold.

Sarah screams and says "Maya!"

Sprite says "Gaia no!"

Gaia yes.

I angrily tackle Ikaris. Singling him out.

Now, I've wanted to do this for a billion years I'd say.

I punch Ikaris and he looks at me shocked. "Are ya kiddin me?" Sarah fiddles on her feet and says "His accent is hot."

Kingo nods and says "I know right?"

Sprite swats Kingo and says "Go do something!"

Kingo groans and says "They're about to start flying and I can't fly. Besides I'm still winded from fighting those deviants. Besides, pretty girl is here now."

Sprite growls and huffs "You're the worst."

She chases after me as my grip around Ikaris' throat tightens and burns. His cosmic beams nail me in the arm and I sucker punch his chin and push his eyes away from me. He's nothing without the beams.

I have flight and he does too.

I truly don't think this is even a fair fight.

I scorch his skin and he cries out for assistance "Kingo!"

"huh?"

Kingo says "Ohhhhh... that looks bad."

I slam Ikaris into the concrete knocking him out cold. I stand above his body huffing and my hands shaking as they scrunch into fists even more.

Sersi and Sprite cry out towards Ikaris "No! Ikaris!"

I stomp on Ikaris' stomach and turn towards hushed voices. I look to them with a raged expression. My emotions slip away and I deadly look to them.

Kingo gulps and says "Is anyone else slightly terrified? She just... she just knocked Ikaris unconscious."

I fire at them and Kingo pushes the others to the side as he raises his hands shooting rapidly from his fingers.

Pathetic speed of the hits. No anger behind the hits. Weak.

"A little help guys!"

Sprite says as she approaches carefully "Maya.. Gaia. Whoever you are. It's Sprite. I am here and you're scaring me."

I grit my teeth throwing Kingo into the brick wall towards him. Sarah screams "Maya stop it!" Sprite touches my arm and my left arm grabs hers burning the skin slightly. An illusion covers the area around us and it stuns me for a minute.

I hear Druig's voice echo around me and I rapidly shake my head and hold my hands now to my ears nearly completely losing it.

The alley way and roads of New York dissolve around me. I look around at where I am. I'm home...

With him.

"My beautiful, beautiful Gaia. Do you hear me?" He kisses my hands and I smile slightly. God I feel so warm and at peace. He's such a good kisser. This isn't now, this is a memory. I used to wear his pj top and he'd wear the pants. That's how it always was. This is an old memory.

Gaining my composure back as much as I can I slide my hands away from him. This isn't real. He's dead. He died.

I grit my teeth and say "You died. We all die. I watched you die. I painfully watched you die. You left me.."

"I'm right here, my love. I'm right here. In our home. That we share together and love together... I would never leave you. I love you too dearly. You need to take some deep breaths and talk to me."

I swallow hard and say "Dead.. you're dead. This isn't real! You're not real..."

"No, gaia. I am here. Im your husband. I'm here. Gaia, you are my wife and I love you. Please remember. Please remember me. Focus on my voice. Just my voice. I love you. I'll always look out for you. That's why I'm here."

Sersi nudges Ikaris as he stands up. He looks to see me on the ground sobbing and holding the sides of my head muttering unknown phrases to herself.

Sprite looks to me saying "It's just a dream. Gaia.. come back.."

Ikaris walks towards me promptly. He punches me from behind hitting me roughly in the back of the head. My body goes slack after two punches and Sprite cries out "No! Ikaris! No! Why did you do that!?"

"She needed to be knocked out. Grab her Kingo and let's go. We'll get to Thena and Gilgamesh first."

Sarah says "Wait you can't just take Maya."

Sersi says "Don't worry. We're her friends from college."

"I went to her college and you weren't there!"

Kingo smiles to her and says "I'd offer for you to stay but I wouldn't want your beautiful face to be compromised. Leaving you here and safe gives me the perfect opportunity to give you my number anyway."

Ikaris lifts me and Karun hands Sarah a card with Kingo's number. "Come on sir. We need to catch up to the others."

Ikaris tosses me down on the couch and sighs. Kingo smiles as he sits down "That was pretty easy."

Ikaris rubs his neck and says "Speak for yourself kingo."

Sprite stares at the burn on her arm. Minor but still there. Her Gaia has never hurt her before, Ajak must have erased her.

Sprite says as the others complain about their injuries "Ajak erased Gaia. She doesn't remember us because Ajak erased her..." shock written into her tone.

Kingo says "Oh.... shit."

Sersi says "She went through with it."

Sprite says angrily, now standing up "Ajak lied. It didn't even fix Gaia. Now she just doesn't remember and still has those stupid slips!"

She slams the bathroom door shut and Kingo says "I'm surprised she actually went through with it. I thought Druig had it under control."

Sersi says "So, do you think she can still use her powers? That she knows how to use them?"

Ikaris mutters annoyed "So that's why Ajak chose you Sersi. Gaia's brain is completely mush."

Kingo says "Ikaris. Take it easy man. She's still family."

Ikaris scoffs and walks away from the others. Kingo pushes the long black waved hair out of Gaia's face and says "Druig is going to know how this happened. Makkari too."

Sersi says "God I hope so. Every eternal we find isn't exactly helping us but only adding on to the problems we have to deal with it seems."

Kingo shrugs and says "I sort of like getting the gang back together. Druig, Makkari, and Gaia basically being in a poly relationship. You, Ikaris, and me being in one too kind of-"

"What!?"

Kingo's smile drops and he laughs it off "I'm only joking! unless..." Sersi glares at him and he says "Kidding.. Kidding."

a/n: I know, I know, I haven't explained anything yet, as soon as they get to Druig it will be revealed. There's no way for them to know the story unless one of thems a mind reader but Gaia or Maya has nothing up there currently. So, Gaia kicked Ikaris' ass. Had to put that in there. Petty move knocking her out in the middle of a illusion with her long lost lover. So, opinions? I can't believe I got this chapter out today. I flew through my history test and essay.
