Druig looks to me as Phastos explains every detail of the unimind he created. "It combines our powers. It should be enough for Druig to put Tiamut to sleep."

I nod and say "Ikaris will be waiting."

Thena nods and says "Phastos and I will stay on the domo as you take the others down to ground level. He'll attack here first and I will stall him for as long as possible."

Druig nods and I say "Okay. And then what?"

Phastos says "Then we defend Druig and let him do his thing."

I nod slowly saying "And you can do this Druig?"

He nods and says "Years and tears of practice will finally have payed off. That's for sure."

Makkari signs "I guess Gaia's need for mind control for thousands and thousands of years finally paid off then."

I grumble and swat her arm "You're annoying. Shut up."

Thena looks to me as I close my eyes as I stand in my designated spot beside Druig. The gold tendrils covering my shoulders and traveling down my body.

I sigh heavily as I open my eyes looking to Druig and he nods to me, reassuring me. Quickly our suits cover us and the gold bracelets cover our wrists.

We step away from the wall, Phastos nodding to me and I grab Sersi and Druig's hands as Makkari grabs Sersi's hand.

We quickly fly down to the ground and Sersi nods to me as we stand in formation. I look to Sersi and say "We're gonna stop this. Together."

Sprite sits with Ikaris as they watch our domo approach the emergence. Ikaris stands up saying "Protect the emergence." Sprite's eyes water and she says "You're really going to kill them?"

He avoids eye contact with Sprite as she shakes her head, guilt setting in.

She nods and Druig says "Stay away from Ikaris, Gaia."

I nod and say "Uh huh. Sure." He gives me a look and I press my hands to his shoulders. Leaning into him pressing a kiss to his cheek.

He really expects me to not whoop that douche bags ass? I want vengeance

He hmms and kisses my cheek. I press my nose to his and say "Okay?"

He nods and says "Keep your distance and don't die, my love."

I nod and he presses a kiss to my lips gingerly and I sigh as we pull away. Slowly we look to each other. Sersi says as we face the large volcanic mountain in front of us "It's time to put a god to sleep."

Druig nods and spins the uni mind bracelet he has on his wrist. I feel my body grow anxious quickly and I grab his wrist stopping him from initiating the uni mind.

He looks to me and says "Gaia?" I shake my head and say "Maybe.. maybe this isn't a good idea. I just got you back. In some form at least and.."

He nods and says "I have no plans on dying. Even if I was we'd meet again in the next life. Just like the many lives we've lived before."

I shakily nod and I feel my hands tremble as I rest a hand on his chest and hold his cheek in my other.

I attempt to hide my fear by giving him the faintest smile. I feel like I'm gonna vomit oh my god. I'm so nervous.

I kiss his cheek and say "alright. I trust you."

He twists the band and the device wires and makes noises as I watch it closely. My device, Sersi's device and Makkari's device shortly after start twisting and makes noises. Slowly the gold tendrils cover our bodies as Druig extends his hands out towards us.

Our bodies lift off the ground and slowly the power within us transfers to Druig.

Immediately everything clicks as Druig gains control over the celestial, Tiamut.

He's doing it! He's really doing it!

I don't think I've ever felt so proud of him. He's risking everything to do this.

Suddenly, with the tie in to the celestial I begin to access every memory Ajak erased. It all comes back to me.

So quickly.

It's all a whirlwind of information weighing on me so quickly.

I feel like I'm gonna pass out. But in a good way.

It's like a breath of fresh air.

"It was off at one time? I mean, I'm all for that. We could just go get wasted at a bar like old times."

"I heard our Gaia was getting married today.. What's the hold up? Thena and I are getting bored out there waiting for you, sweets."

"Meet Blossom our horse!"

"No. Absolutely- you already got it didn't you? Don't give me that guilty and adorable smile. Knock it off."
"Makkari is currently brushing it! I named her honey. Get it?"

"Big strong Ikaris is afwaidd of a wittle spidey."

Then suddenly Druig is blasted by Ikaris and lifted in the air. "I should've done this five centuries ago!" The gold tendrils drop around us and I see Ikaris suspended in the air, him squeezing Druig's throat tightly.

I quite literally see red. He ruined my little montage of all my memories. Asshole.

I scream "No! Druig!"

With no hesitation I take after Ikaris as he throws Druig and blasts him down into the rocky mountain terrain. Makkari screams and my heart aches. She never uses her voice.

I hit Ikaris away from Druig as he slams him farther into the mountain. I punch at Ikaris and he tumbles towards the sand as I blast a gaping hole into his shoulder. I grit my teeth and say "You'll die for that."

I falter in the air, my mind not focused on the fight. I nose dive down for Druig. Focusing on my main priority.

Catching and saving my husband is my main priority.

Makkari's anger flares as she watches the two closest people to her fall through the mountain. She grits her teeth as Ikaris lands.

"Druig's gone. It's over."

She takes off and tackles him angrily. Slamming his face into the rock and continuing to drag it roughly.

He counters her moves as he blasts holes through the rock.

He hits her away and Phastos starts rapidly firing towards him as Thena takes it upon herself to step in.

Back and forth with Makkari and Thena is repetitive damage towards Ikaris.

Makkari sucks Ikaris into a whirlwind as she speeds in a quick circle around him. Attacking him in the process.

He grabs her throat and throws her away from himself angrily. His reflexes heightened and his anger soaring

I reach for Druig's hand as his eyes droop close as we fall "no! Druig! Grab my hand!" His grasp slips from me and my flying isn't fast enough to stop him from hitting the ground.

The sound of his body hitting the ground was enough to kill me with heartache.

Please be alive.

Please.

I roughly hit the ground, tumbling upon landing, my mind not focused on a safe landing only a quick one to get to him and I quickly run towards his body in the shallow waters.

I drop to my knees in the shallow waters sobbing "No. No. Druig. Hey. No you don't get to do this. You do not get to do this. Honey... Hey.. hey bubs no. Let's... just open your eyes for me okay?"

I pull his head into my lap and hold him within my grasp. I rest my head on his chest sobbing "I'm supposed to be the dramatic one. You aren't allowed to do this. I can't do this without you. It's me Druig. It's Gaia. I remember. I remember. Please..."

I rest his back to the sand and water holding his cheek and weeping over him. "It's me. It's your wife. It's your crazy wife. The nuts one that attacks you. Please don't leave me. I can't live without you. I was supposed to die first. You told me I could die first.."

I squeeze him tightly in my arms repeating "I remember. I'll remember. Always. I love you...Please. Please don't leave me. Please, Druig..."

I hear loud fighting outside and I rock back and forth with Druig's body. "I forgive you. Druig.. I forgive you. Please.. I forgive you, okay? I forgive you."

"Took you long enough."

I look down at him and he smiles. I hit his arm and he winces "Ow."

I scoff and say "I thought I lost you! You had to give me some stupid response like that?! I poured my heart out for you! I was mourning you!"

He nods and says cockily "So, you had a taste of your own medicine?" I glare at him and gingerly kiss him to shut him up.

"I hate you."

He smiles and says "It's good to have you back, my love."

I nod and say "It's good to be back. Neither of us are going anywhere.. I'm pulling Ikaris' bobble headed face off with my bare hands. I've had enough."

His eyes widen and he nods slowly. I look to him kissing his lips with quick repetitive kisses. I say "What? Too much?"

He shrugs and says "I think it's just enough or not quite enough but you saying that was very... very attractive."

I chuckle and he laughs with me "Go save the world, babes."

I nod and say "You stay here and unharmed okay? Let me hash this out."

He groans as he sits up slowly "Do you even know me? We're doing this together."

I push him back down as he sits up and say "Stay."

"I'm not a dog!"

"Druig! Just stay here!"

He grumbles as I step out into the light and out of the tunnel.

Phastos looks to me stepping out of the cave and says "Prodigal son returns."

I swipe the blood off my nose and I feel the streak of blood run down the side of my face. "Prodigal daughter, Phastos. Prodigal daughter.."

I throw the warmed and powerful hands of mine down towards the sand, essentially lifting my body as I make my next move.

I slam my fist into Ikaris' face as he falters from the air and his body hits the sand impactful.

"It's over Gaia! It's over! Druig is dead and Makkari is down!" He shouts at me

I squeeze his neck tightly as I stand above him and push his neck up towards the sky.

He swerves around in the sky taking me with him and attempting to get me off him

I say bitterly "You deserve nothing. You piece of shit. I've always wanted to do this."

He gargles and gasps for air. I burn his throat and he swats at my arms. He squeezes my wrists making me wince and lose focus temporarily

He blasts my shoulder and my composure slips as I regain my footing in the air. I say "It was always going to come down to us. You may believe you're the strongest eternal but you aren't and you fighting me is just going to prove it."

He shakes his head and says "You don't even remember what you had for breakfast!"

I grit my teeth as we stand suspended in the air glaring at each other. I say spitefully "I remember everything.. I remember it all. I remember Ajak handing me a cup of coffee and you knocking me over the head right before you erased my life away from me! Before you ruined my life!"

His face drops and he makes his move to tackle me. He slams his body into mine. Pulling a whole ass football tackle on me as we spiral towards the sand in a downward motion.

I scream out of pure hatred towards Ikaris "You took my life away from me! Not once but twice! You killed Druig and I won't ever let you kill anyone from my family again."

He doesn't need to know Druig lived.

Only I deserve that reassurance.

We roughly hit the sand as I punch his arms off me. My knee goes to his crotch as he falls off me.

He grits his teeth as he slowly stands and I push my body up off the sand.

I throw my hands out towards him screaming in anguish as I stand guard in front of a collapsed Makkari.

I grit my teeth and say "Sprite always said you flew to close to the sun."

I gather the massive amount of cosmic power that's essentially a brand new sun created by me.

Me.

I am Mother Earth and I can create mother-fucking suns for gods sake. You will be defeated Ikaris.

Phastos screams behind me "HOLY SHIT!"

Druig stands against the rock at the end of the cave looking out at the fight happening. He smiles as he watches his wife.

I slam the sun full force into Ikaris. I heave heavy breaths as it slowly burns and I run my hands down my face shaking my head as I slowly feel energy buzz through my hands.

My heart is beating out of my chest.

If you haven't noticed I loveee to quote old taylor swift songs in the beginning of my chapters lmao. Every time I hear that song I think of the Ramona and beezus movie. Yeah I just name dropped the title in this chapter. SO GAIA REMEMBERS EVERYTHING! YESSS! good reunion? good rememberance? nothing in their very adorable relationship is too serious haha. Also also also!!! Feel free to guess who said each of those quotes I put in the chapter while she was remembering! Most of them were in the book! The person in non bolded italics is Gaia!

Woowwww so I did an add up of the word count in the book so far and we are up to 95,908 JESUS. Wow that's a lot honestly. That's not including this chapter! woowwww. It probably has like another 10,000 or more btw :)
