Sprite puts an airpod in my ear as we eat dinner and plays music through my phone. I hear music queue up and I hear the lyrics through the airpod on my left ear.

Sprite makes a face at the song and says "You're a mitski stan?"

"Shut up alright?"

She changes the song and it quickly switches to Pocketful of sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield.

Sprite says "Your music taste is all over the place. Do you have a sex playlist?!"

I slap her arm and say "Shut up! That is.. that is not what you think it is!"

She mutters "Who the hell are you sleeping with?"

I glare at her and say "That is not a sex playlist. Shut up. I'm not 15."

Sersi enters the room again and I look to Sprite confused. We slide the airpods back into the case and Sprite looks through my texts while I watch everyone. Ikaris says "What happened?"

My body suddenly stands up and Sprite watches me leave the hut. Am I gonna be sick? What the hell is wrong with me?

I stand still staring at the sun.

My golden orb leaves my chest and I can't move a step. My surroundings change and Ajak is in front of me.

"My sweet and kind Gaia. Hello."

"aj?" My face contorts to confusion. It's been so long since I've visited her.

She smiles and grabs the sides of my face "It's Ajak. Hi my dear. You must be so confused. I'm so sorry. I should have never erased your beautiful memories."

I shake my head and say "They're telling the truth?"

She nods and says "I wanted you to lead us. It was always the plan. But you don't even remember your powers. I couldn't place that burden on you. They are telling you the truth. You can trust the ones you love. But still be wary.."

"No. Stop. I don't... I'm not... I'm not who these people say I am.."

She sighs and says "I don't have much time. Sersi will fill you in on everything. I'm so sorry I couldn't be here for you. I miss you so dearly. You need to find Druig and Makkari. Stop the emergence. I need you to be strong. I need you to be my strong girl I know you are."

I shake my head and say "I can't.. I'm scared. I.. I don't even know who I am.." I'm on the verge of hyperventillating.

She smiles and says "Don't shed tears, my dear. Please don't. You are our Gaia. Mother Earth to many but so much more to the Eternals. You're sister figures to a few, your their best friend, wife to one, daughter figure to others. Gaia you are anything you wish to be and you will always have limitless potential. I will always be proud of you. No matter where you go with your life. You are loved. So loved. You're never alone, you will feel whole again, soon. I am sure of it. I promise."

She smiles and I say "Please don't leave me.. I need you."

She sighs and says "I love you and I'm sorry. But I assure you, we will meet again one day my daughter." My lip quivers as tears run down my face. We truly were so alike.

She disappears and my golden orb goes into my chest once again. Ajak's orb floats back to Sersi.

I collapse to my knees holding my face in my hands. I knew Aj. She was Aj.

She's always been in my life. For as long as I can remember. She was my mother. She was the closest thing I ever had to one.

Sarah and Nonna knew her. She was like my real mother.

I shake my head and grief settles in painfully. Tears dry and I stand up wiping my face with my top.

I enter the hut again and sit down. Staring at my food. My mind painfully fighting a migraine

Sersi told everyone at the table what she had learned, what Arishem had shown her. I did my best to process and listen to what Sersi was saying.

Earth wasn't our first destination. We're billions of years old.

Each planet we are on is destroyed after the birth of a new celestial. Each lifetime we have had has been destroyed.

Every time an emergence happened Arishem wiped their memories and sent them to another planet. With a clean slate.

Kingo nods and says "So you're saying we're basically like fancy robots? Are you getting all this Karun?"

Karun nods and points the camera towards Kingo "Yes, sir."

Gilgamesh chimed in "And our past memories are stored somewhere? In space?"

Sersi nodded and says "Yes. Arishem showed me. Our previous memories are all stored. It was so weird."

I shake my head staring at my fruit on my plate. This is fucking bullshit. I am beyond angry.

Sersi says almost tauntingly "And Arishem created the Deviants." My teeth grit as my hand clenches the fork tightly.

Gil pats my back and Thena rests her hand on my wrist. Attempting to reassure me. My eyes look to Thena as she stares at my face.

I look back down dropping the fork.

Kingo says, completely floored "Holy cannolis!"

Gilgamesh says "I'm sorry Thena, Gaia, you both tried to warn us."

Sprite says "The last time Arishem reset both of your memories something must have gone wrong. The process didn't work. Thena remembered her past emergence and Gaia remembered every single emergence she'd been through."

Kingo looks to Sprite confused and says "What do you mean, Sprite?"

Sprite defends her claim "Well, that's what Mahd Wy'ry is, isn't it? All this time Thena and Gaia were just remembering all the other planets we were sent to, and everyone dying during the Emergence. Their slip ups were their bodies subconsciously reacting to their memories of an emergence. They were desperately trying to warn us."

Gil shook his head saying "I thought we were heroes. Turns out we're actually the bad guys."

"We're not the bad guys." Kingo says angrily and defends our actions "We've helped humans grow. We've helped Celestials expand life across the universe. We're the good guys. Bad guys don't do things like that."

Sprite says "You're just saying that to make yourself feel better, Kingo. We also don't need you to videotape our grieving."

She grits her teeth as I stare blankly at my food. My eyes widening. Those animals that attacked me... they killed her. They killed the one person I remember from the beginning of my life. Before Sarah.

Kingo defends "It's a documentary. It's meant to have layers and emotions."

I scoff and shake my head "You make me sick Kingo and I don't even know you. You're exploiting your friends grieving process for your own profit."

Sersi says "We've helped the Celestials and Arishem expand life across the whole universe... all the planets we've gone to they didn't even think twice about the billions they were killing in the process. They're just stepping stones in their process to create more celestials. They mean nothing. We mean nothing to them and we helped them essentially kill humans and creatures for years on top of years."

Sprite says "Every time innocent lives have been sacrificed for the greater good it turns out to be a mistake."

Sersi nodded and says "We have to stop the Emergence."

Kingo shakes his head irritated "Sersi, we have no right to stop the birth of a Celestial."

Sersi nodded and says "There has to be a way it can emerge without destroying the Earth. We just have to delay it until we figure out how. There's always another way. We have to do something. We can't sit around and watch like we always have had to do. It isn't fair."

Gilgamesh pats my shoulder and clears his throat "Could Druig control it's mind?"

I freeze at the mention of his name and everyone's eyes roll over to me. Kingo says "Gaia? Do you think-"

I push their hands off me and say "I don't even know who he is. Leave me out of this. Every single piece of information you give me it just seems to keep getting more and more unbelievable. So no. I don't even know who he is! I don't know who any of you are!"

I storm out of the hut stomping through the dunes of the desert. Honestly I don't know what the hell I am thinking. Where the hell am I gonna get without a vehicle or map or something.

Thena looks to Gil and says "I'll go after her. Continue talking."

She walks after me as I kick the sand as I walk through the dunes. I plop onto the sand not seeing anything within eye sight to go to. Slowly Thena approaches and sits beside me. I look to her and she says "We don't have to talk but I'm still going to sit here."

I sit in silence with her, until a hiccup slips from my mouth. She turns towards me smiling. "You hiccup when you're nervous. I make you nervous."

I look to her and say "No.. I just.. I can't seem to catch a break. Every new amount of information I receive just makes me feel more and more like shit. Guilt is tearing me apart. I don't know who I'm supposed to be. It's like I'm trapped in this facade. Everyone tells me I'm Gaia. I am their Gaia and I don't know how to live up to their expectations. I don't know how to be her. I'm not her. I'm just plain old Maya. That's who I am."

She nods and says "We're in similar situations, you got your memory wiped after your slip ups with mad wr'ry and I kept my memories and continued to have slip ups. I understand how you feel. I feel like I'm not the same person I used to be. I'm a shell of my original self. I'm a burden now."

I rest my head on her shoulder and say "Why do the best people always get screwed over?"

She smiles and says "I don't know. If you ever find out the answer to that question I'd like to be the first to know. I take it you knew and remembered Ajak?"

"I knew AJ. She wasn't Ajak when I knew her. She's the first person I remember in my life as Maya."

She nods and says "You don't have to go with us to find Druig if you aren't up for it."

I sigh and say "Everyone I know will die unless I go with you guys and convince this man I was apparently married to, to take over some really powerful guys mind."

She laughs and her contagious laugh makes me laugh. Gil and Sprite watch us laugh and smile to themselves. "Just like old times.."

Sprite nods and says "I missed this." They step back inside continuing the discussion after they checked on the two nuts eternals that they love.

Thena says "I think you'll like Druig. He's always understood Gaia and I'm sure he'll understand Maya. He'll make an effort and Makkari, god Makkari gets along with everyone. You'll want to be best friends with her even as Maya."

I nod and say "That makes me feel a little better. Thank you."

She nods and says "Of course."

I look to my hands and say "So, you knew me... as Gaia. Everyone says I was kind and mother earth. But I just want the truth." She smiles and says "I enjoyed fighting against you. You were a strong warrior. Very respectable one."

I nod and say "Was I a bitch?"

She laughs and says "No, but you did have your moments. Your temper wasn't mild. Kingo ate your food one time and you beat him up with an orange."

I laugh and she chuckles. "You and Druig bickered a lot. But that was just your teasing in the beginning. You and Makkari would work through arguments by literal fist fights."

I look to her surprised and say "Seriously?"

She nods and says "I don't lie."

I chuckle and say "I sound entertaining." She mhm's and says "Most definitely. You always kept us entertained. You were by far one of the best people to be around on the team. Always had a smile on your face and you and sprite always pranked Kingo. I still remember your prank on everyone with the tarantulas."

I smile and say "I sound like a lot of fun.. I sounded like a lot of fun... I'm sorry I'm not that person anymore. It must feel like you lost a friend in me too. That I am not the person you truly knew."

"Don't be silly. It's good to see you, even if you don't remember me. It's nice to see a friendly face."

"Druig's hot right? I had good taste right?"

She laughs loudly and says "He's not my cup of tea but boy did you love him. He's handsome. You and him were soulmates."

I smile and say "I've never been in love. I'm glad my previous self was."

She nods and says "He may just fall for the Maya side of you too."

"I just want to be Gaia again... I think that's what I want. I feel at peace here. More at peace than when I lived with Sarah in New York."

"Just wait until you see Druig and Makkari. You'll be home."

I mutter "home... it sounds nice."

Sersi proposes the idea "Maybe, put it to sleep?"

Sprite scoffs and says "Seriously? Put it to sleep?"

Gilgamesh says "I had Druig put Thena to sleep once. So I could take a vacation....to Fiji.." He shrugged and Kingo shook his head "We're talking about a freaking Celestial!"

Sersi shouts back in response "We have to do something! We have to at least try! We're not going to let everyone on Earth just die, right?"

Karun speaks over Kingo this time "Right!" Everyone looks to him and he says "I'll admit I am a little bit biased.."

Ikaris says "We're gonna have to find the others. We have to go now."

Sersi says "We find the others and once we're all together we decide what to do about the emergence."

Sprite says "It's going to be an odd reunion.."

Gilgamesh says "Do you think Druig knows Gaia's memories are gone?"

Sprite sighs and says "No, and I think it'll be enough to break him."

a/n: I have finals this week. Not looking forward to it. Should be stressful, wish me luck guys! ANYWAY, I just watched a ton of hot druig edits on tt, so I am now VERY into writing right now. ha! Also, kind of dissapointed no ones editing him anymore. :( I want new content. Also did you guys here they have deleted scenes of Druig fighting deviants? I need those scenes asap. Anyway, next chapter is gonna be hella entertaining. Alright, I'm gonna keep it short. Opinions on this chapter? Thoughts?
