I lean against the doorframe waiting for an answer to the wooden front door of the big house in front of me. I sway on my feet slightly and push air through my teeth, anxious to see Sprite again after hundreds of years.

Kingo the jester, open up asshole.

The door swings open and he gasps. "Gaia!" He hugs me tightly and I push his forehead away from me. I look around and say "Where's Sprite?"

Kingo with a goatee what the hell??

He shrugs and says "She left, I got tired of moving around every 5 years, so she left at my request.."

My anger flares and I punch Kingo roughly in the arm and say "Are you kidding me?!" I punch him repeatedly my anger boiling over

He winces and says "Why did those punches hurt so badly? gahhh you have a strong punch! Owww." I smile satisfied he felt the pain of my punch and say "Where is she??"

He scratches the back of his neck. "I don't know.." I punch him again and he winces and whines. "oooowwwww." He grabs my hand and says "You are punching me with rings on! Wait... engagement ring on!? Gaia!"

I yank my hand away and say "I was looking to tell Sprite first. I can't believe you abandoned her!"

"I didn't abandon her per say..."

I push him and say "God I wish I could burn your face off. I'm so angry."

"Do I get an invite?"

"Hell no."

He scoffs and says "Come on Gaia. I've been number one supporter of your relationship with him."

"You're a shitty liar Kingo. We all know that you worshipped the ground Ikaris walked on and him and Sersi are your number ones. Besides, I never said I got engaged to Druig. Anyway, I'm going to go find my best friend that you apparently abandoned. I'm so dissapointed in you right now Kingo. So dissapointed."

I walk out of his house and he says "Wait! Mommm! Wait."

"Don't call me mom!"

I fly up and back to home base. I land and Makkari signs "Well?"

"Kingo left Sprite awhile ago. He said he was tired of moving around for her."

Makkari shakes her head and signs "What a dick."

I nod and say "I don't know where she is now."

Druig clears his throat and says "You need to locate someone?"

I turn around to his voice and say "Maybe.."

"Who?" he questions.

"Sprite."

"She wasn't with Kingo?"

I scoff and sign "Don't even get me started on Kingo he's pissed me off."

He nods and says "Relax love, I'll find Sprite and get you her location. You know, you said that you didn't want anyone at our wedding a long time ago."

I cross my arms and say "And you said you didn't want to get married. So shut up."

He smiles and says "It's hot when your bossy."

Makkari makes gagging noises and signs "If I have to witness you two with your tongues down each other's throats I will tie your tongues together and push you down the mountain."

I look to her and sign "Sounds very planned out."

She nods and signs "I've had it planned out since the first time you two were macking tongues. Still disturbed when you do that."

I smile and say "Druig. Come here."

He walks over and we very dramatically kiss. He dips me and holds one of my legs up. Makkari groans and throws her hands in the air and walks away. He continues kissing me and his kiss lingers to my cheek

He says "Sprite's in the United States with Ajak."

I pull him back towards me and kiss him. "Thank you."

I pull away and say "You're going to tell me not to go aren't you?"

He nods and says "I don't know what Ajak will do. We've gotten your mad wr'ry under control for the most part but she still thinks you should be reset. We can't risk that."

I sigh and say "But it's Sprite.. I should have known Kingo would abandon her. She should have come here. She's with Ajak. It's the only place that makes sense. She doesn't want to burden anyone."

Makkari brushes through my hair and I stare at my reflection in the mirror. She puts the brush down and signs "Second thoughts on marrying Druig? I can get you out of here ASAP."

I laugh and sign "No, it's alright. I know I said I just wanted a small and intimate wedding... but I miss everyone so much."

She nods and signs "Me too."

I look down at my white dress. More like silver I guess. I don't know. Why am I doing this again? Right. I love him.

Yeah.

I love him.

Yeah.

Why wasn't Sersi this nervous on her wedding day?

She was so calm. I am terrified and freaking out. I'm usually so calm.

HAHAH no I'm not.

I gulp and Makkari signs "Ready when you are."

My lip quivers and tears come. Emotions are running very high today. She looks to me shocked and looks around frantically for a tissue. I shake my head as she hands me repetetive tissues. "I just want the family here.."

She nods and rubs my back. Makkari looks around for something to help with my breakdown. There's a knock on the door and I cry "No! Don't let him see me crying he's going to think I'm crying over the fact I'm marrying him!"

Makkari signs "You sure it's not that?"

I shake my head and rub my temples. Makkari groans and opens the door. I attempt to compose myself. Knowing it's Druig.

Still pacing the floor like an idiot.

"I heard our Gaia was getting married today."

I spin around shocked to hear his voice. "Gil!"

I quickly run over and he lifts me effortlessly patting my back. Spinning me in a hug. He smiles and says "What's the hold up? Thena and I are getting bored out there waiting on you, sweets."

"Thena's here??"

He nods and says "Yup. She's missed all of you dearly. I'm sure she'll come looking for us very soon."

I smile and say "Who contacted you guys?"

He smiles to me and says "Well, none other than your soon to be husband. He agreed that he would control Thena's slips along with yours so we could both be here. I suggested putting Thena to sleep for the weekend he suggested having her attend with us."

I laugh and Thena says "Not funny."

"Thena!" I hug her tightly and she smiles. She says "It would have been a bore of a wedding without me."

I nod and say "I can't believe you guys are here!"

Makkari clears her throat and signs "I may have gotten you a present also..."

I look to her and she signs "I'll give it to you after we're done here." Gil looks to me and says "Have you been crying? Why are you crying? It's supposed to be a happy day! No crying missy!"

Thena says "Gilgamesh, she doesn't have to explain herself." I smile to both of them and say "I didn't want to go through this day without you guys. I couldn't get in contact with Sprite and the others are sprinkled throughout the world. I was overwhelmed and I needed this surprise. Most definitely."

Thena smiles to me and holds my chin in her palms "Like I'd miss your day."

Gil swipes a fake tear off and says "It's gonna be an emotional day."

I laugh and happiness bubbles inside of me.

Thena nods and says "So the wedding is still on?"

We all laugh and I nod "Wedding is still on."

"It was off at one point? I mean, I'm all for that. We could just go get wasted at a bar like old times."

I look to the door and see my favorite peter pan looking friend. "Sprite! Oh my god!"

I hug her tightly and she chuckles "Like I'd miss this day."

"How? I tried to find you but Kingo said you left him!"

She nods and says "He was pissing me off. I've been staying with Ajak. It's been fun. Phastos left. He's doing his own thing now."

I nod and hold the sides of her face. "I missed you so much."

Sprite says "I missed you more. Are we blowing this wedding off or are you getting married today Gaia?"

Makkari nods and I say "Let's go get me married."

Makkari nods and signs "Let's go find our seats!"

I snag her arm before she leaves and she looks to me concerned. "Yes?"

I wipe the stray strand of hair out of her face and sign "I should have asked you earlier, can you walk me down the aisle? I wouldn't want anyone else to do it."

Her eyes water and a wide smile comes to her face. She nods and signs "Of course. I'm honored! Oh my god I'm giving you away!? Aww goddd."

"I'm nervous Kari. So incredibly nervous."

She nods and signs "As soon as you see his smile you'll be alright."

I look to her and she gives me a reassuring smile. I nod and say "Okay... I guess I have to get married now. Can we stall a little longer?" Makkari gives me a look and I say "Right. Right... of course.. I don't want to freak him out.... I'm still freaking out Kari... I'm still nauseous. I feel like I need to punch someone to get these jitters out."

She looks at me apprehensively and signs "Should I get Gil? He's the one to punch."

I gulp and say "No...No.. I just need to see Druig and then I'll be alright. Most likely..."

I step forward and she links her arm with mine and pushes the door open. We step out of the house and towards the outdoor area set up in the woods. I see the twinkly lights above and Makkari pulls me forward as my walking slows.

I hear the faint sounds of music and my head turns towards it. We approach the group of people and my breath hitches when I see Druig. He smiles and yup. Makkari was right. My fear dwindles away. I smile to him

Now, how did I get such a handsome man?

Makkari looks to Gil as he stands between the arched trees. He's officiating. Makkari signs "This is not me giving away Gaia. This is just me temporarily handing her over. Kapiche?"

Druig shakes his head and says "We've got it Makkari. Thank you for bringing my lovely Gaia here."

Makkari nods and goes to sit down beside Thena and Sprite.

My family is here. Druig grabs my hands and pulls me towards the officiant. Gil says "So, I'd say 3 people in the audience is a pretty good showing right?"

Druig nods and says "Just how we like it."

Small and intimate.

Gil begins "As everyone knows, Gaia and Druig have been destined to be together from the start...."

He continues going on but I'm literally blubbering beside them. Trying to not completely look like a wreck. Druig places his hand on my cheek and grazes his thumb to sweep the tears away. I look to him lovingly and thankfully.

"Now that's not to say that they didn't have their rocky moments..."

Druig looks to Gil abruptly and I smile and chuckle. Druig looks to me annoyed and I shake my head. I whisper "Leave it.."

He sighs and Gil continues "But! We are lucky to be here as a family now to see Gaia and Druig get married. Druig do you take Gaia to be your wife?"

He nods and says "Yes I do."

He's such a dork.

Gil says "And Gaia?"

I nod and say "Yeah, works for me"

Druig gives me a look and I smile and say "I do." Chuckling at his look

Gil says "Alright, you may now-"

Druig dips me dramatically and Thena says "I am so proud..."

Sprite says "I feel like a proud mother." Makkari signs "I swear to god if they start slipping tongue I'm getting a shovel and hitting both of them." Sprite says "Makkari chill out." Thena smiles and says "They're so very cute together. I called it. Druig is so her type. I knew they were going to get married even before Sersi and Ikaris even romantically looked at each other."

Sprite says "Gaia and Druig are so much more compatible."

Thena sniffles and Sprite says "Noooo don't start now... Makkari and I are going to start next... oh crap. Look how happy Gil is standing behind them."

Makkari awws and the three of them dab at the corners of their eyes watching the happy couple and Gil smiling.

Druig and I laugh as we stand upright again and I whisper into a lingering kiss to his cheek "I still don't forgive you."

He shakes his head and says "I love you too, my wife."

I smile and say "Husband."

The night progresses quickly and we join the town for a big feast. I sit beside Makkari drinking some wine while Druig speaks with Gil. I shiver and before I know it, Druig's coat is dropped over my shoulders. I could smell the so very known smell of his cologne and my smile widened.

"Druig."

"My love," he continued "Your thoughts are so very loud, I heard you from across the gardens. Is the coat enough warmth?"

I purse my lips and look to him as Makkari sneaks off. Finding Sprite drinking and dancing with a man a few years older then her. I shrug and say "Well, I think my hands would be much warmer in yours."

"You're a sap Gaia."

I nod and say "I learned it from you." He chuckles and says "You're the one who broke through my rough exterior and loved me first."

I nod and say "And don't forget it."

He extends his hands to me and pulls me to my feet. He grabs the sides of the coat and pulls it towards him.

He kisses me and smiles. I chuckle and he says "I'll never get tired of that."

I nod and hum in agreement.

He spins me and pulls me towards the fire. I smile and watch him happily pull me along with him. Thena crosses her arms and looks to Gil as Druig pulls me to dance by the fire with all the towns people. She nudges him and Gil looks to Thena. He smiles and says "Gaia's all grown up now." Thena smiles and says "That she is.."

He pats her shoulder and I smile as I lean towards Druig. He holds my cheek and rubs circles into my skin.

If I could freeze a moment in time I'd freeze this moment.. right here. Right now with the people I love.

God I wish I could.

"I love you." he tells me as our cheeks press against each others as we sway to the sound of the music. The warmth of the blazing fire only makes me melt into his embrace even more.

I love my life. I love him and everyone here.

His kiss on my cheek feels like a gentle warmth of love and I don't ever want to be without it. He is my home. He is my love.

"I love you more."

a/n: I love when you guys guess what song I put in as a quote at the beginning of the chapter, any guesses this time? So, Gaia and Druig are MARRIED!! Are you guys surprised to see the special guests? I had to add them in. And GAHHH when Makkari walked Gaia down the aisle. Aaaahhhhh!! Jeez it had me teary eyed. I was going between Makkari and Gilgamesh walking her down the aisle but Makkari and Gaia are so close, it just seemed more likely. But, Gil as the officiant? I mean!! Come onnnn that's so cute. Also, I wanted to add Blossom but Gil's allergic to horses so Blossom wasn't added to the ceremony. Also, Gaia's dress is beautiful isn't it? I looovee the white shiny dress in the pictures above, hence why I added like every gif and picture I could find of it. Look at Gaia all smiling like a dork sooo cuteee. Right? Happy chapter yay!! 🤫🤫 Yayyyyyy...... happy fluff chapter!! Also, if anyone has any x-men or steve rogers fics they could suggest that'd be awesome. I am in need of a good one!
