In this world, Vergil and Dante were currently fighting off another horde of demons in the Underworld. Vergil was using Dante's King Cerberus, and Dante was using his Ebony and Ivory.

As they fought, the two were venting their frustrations about Kyrie taking their father's swords.

Dante: "What even the hell was that crap?! It took some of our power and then screwed off somewhere!"

Vergil: "We must search, Dante. If that demon has our power, it is inevitable that another incursion against the world will occur."

A Yamato portal opens up above them, catching the attention of both of them as they continue fighting.

Dante: "Looks like it heard us. Let's settle this, Vergil!"

Vergil: "Agreed."

Expecting a battle from a powerful demon, they affirmed a stance, only to see their swords falling to the ground.

The Devil Sword Dante and the Yamato both casually clank on the floor in an anticlimactic way.

The two couldn't help but get confused as Dante shoots the last demon in sight.

Dante: "The hell?"

The two cautiously approach their weapons. They look at each other before Dante picks his sword up first.

He feels the demonic power of his Devil Sword return to him.

Vergil picks his up and experiences the same thing.

Vergil: "This is... unexpected."

Dante: "Yeah..."

Vergil: "Still, we must locate this demon if in case it used our power to open a gate to Earth."

Vergil breaks the seal of his tsuba, feeling some resistance in that attempt to unsheathe his katana.

Vergil: "Hm?"

He takes out the obstruction. It was a piece of paper that read,

"Sorry. It turns out, I never needed these.
