-Eighth chapter-

Karen was running through the woods. She just saw something which can't be unseen. It was eating. Eating innocent people! And she was next... She ran and ran. It sprinted after her. Soon, Karen was knocked down by the heavy beast as it's fangs reached out to bite her.

"AHHH!!!! Oh my god! Don't eat me!" Karen screamed out.

Karen's bedroom door opened and she saw her mother pop her head through the door.

"Karen, are you alright? I heard you scream."

"Yeah mum. Just a bad dream."

Karen's mother nodded in understanding and left. Karen was already 17. The perfect age for the shadow to get her. It got into her mind, tempting her to go out, and into the small garden. Where the entrance to the woods will be. Karen managed to get tempted. She went outside, wearing an oversized shirt with some shorts. She wore her favourite converse too. She sat down on the grass. Enjoying the peaceful sound of nature. The birds chirping merrily, the soft, gentle breeze blowing. Suddenly, a chilly gust of wind blew past Karen. It nipped her skin.

Karen... Karen... Save me... Please...

Karen's head snapped to the direction of the woods. Her sister. That voice. Belonged to Keva. Keva is still alive! She has to go find her. She ventured off into the woods, looking, searching, and hearing. But there was no ore sound. She continued to walk deeper into the woods. She turned around, she was still on the path. Thank god.

Karen... Over here. Help me, Kara!

Kara. The nickname she had from her sister. Oh god, it IS her sister! She hesitated for a moment though, for the direction Keva called out from was off path. She was, however, determined to find her sister. She walked deeper, and deeper. Following the voice. She was off her path not long after.

Karen! Kara! Continue! Follow this voice, if not, the consequences will be bad.

What? The voice suddenly became harsher. Deeper. Her sister was no longer there. Wait! Maybe they have her sister, and wants to lead her to them. Soon, the voices stopped. And everything stopped. It was eerily silent now. She stopped in her tracks too, looking around. Looking for some sort of clue. That's when she felt strong arms wrap around her and pull her into the opposite direction. A pain shot through her head as it came into contact with something hard. Black spots started appearing, clouding her vision. Before everything completely blacked out.

Who is the shadow's apprentice? Who was faking Keva? And lastly, who took Karen?
