-Fourth chapter- (I'm so sorry if the last chapter was placed as chapter 4, but I already changed it.)

After the cops came with the ambulance, Karen's father, Luke, was gone. His body has been taken away. Karen's mother, Sasha, locked herself in the room. Probably crying. Luke's words hurt Karen. But Karen knew that if those were his last words, it was all true. She fell asleep with tears flowing down from her eyes that night.

6:00am.

Karen awoke from her deep slumber. Surprisingly, she slept without any nightmares or dreams. Dry tears stained her face, leaving her to feel the need to rush to the bathroom. She proceeded towards the bathroom, stretching and yawning in the process. She stood in front of the bathroom mirror, rubbing her eyes. She opened her eyes and was stunned by her looks! Her nose was stuffy, her eyes were bloodshot red, and her hair was unkempt. She washed her face and brushed her teeth. Then she got dressed for school. School attire was not needed, so she just wore a plain white T-Shirt with the words 'Smurf You' on it. And jeans, together with some black converse. She tied her hair up into a high ponytail and grabbed her bag. Then she went off.

She stopped by StarBucks, caffeine helps her to stay awake, and ordered a medium Java Chips again. She walked to school while sipping on her drink. Out of the blue, she felt someone's rough hands go over her mouth. Another hand going around her throat. The person dragged her into an alley as she dropped her drink and thrashed around. Her bag fell out from her grip. She reached into her jeans pocket and speed dialled Krev. And as he picked up the phone, she was knocked unconscious with one last shout for help.

Was it the shadow? Did it want to kill her? If so, why? One day, one decision, and one assumption will ruin everything you built up. So trust the right people. After all, who knows what will come?
