Chapter 7.

-Seventh chapter-

Karen wants to forget it all. Or better, go back in time to change everything. But that couldn't happen. And she knew it. Krev and Kerri ended up bunking at her place. She tossed and turned in bed that night. Krev's snoring didn't help much. And Kerri's mumbling wasn't helping either. Her mind was filled with a train of thoughts. She tried to shake them away. But they stayed there. She stared up at the ceiling, and after a while, she felt bored. She decided to go out for a short walk. She got her hoodie, and wrapped in around her oversized T-Shirt and baggy jeans. She placed on some sandals and went off to take a stroll. She was careful though, being quiet, as she didn't want to wake the others up.

She walked slowly as the cold air nipped at her skin. It was colder than she had expected. She rube her arms up and down. And she reached the park soon after. She sat down on the bench, letting out a puff of breath that turned into visible smoke in front of her. She saw a few teenagers huddled together, chatting. While another group went off to smoke. She knew she shouldn't be walking out alone like that, but she's as stubborn as a mule. So nothing can change her mind. Besides, she's already out.

The shadow. It's waiting. To lure her into the forest. Into the woods. Karen... It called out one last time.

4 years later, 17 years old.

"Hello, Mishra." A voice called out. Karen knew who it was from the usage of her last name.

"What, Ryder?" She might as well call him by his last name too.

"I need your help. You know Kerri? Can you help me get her to like me?"

"Why? You're no good for any girls. I mean, please. How many girls have you screwed this week?"

"Not much! Only like, 4! I like Kerri. Not as another girl, but as a normal girl. Serious now."

Karen gave him a blank stare. "4? No can do, dude. Go find someone else to screw."

"Aw...come on, Karen. Pwease???" He gave her his famous puppy dog eyed stare.

"Ugh! You swear to god you really like her?" He nodded. "Fine. But I get something in return. If I get her to like you, you owe me. So in future, whenever I need something. You've got to help me. Deal?"

"Anything?" Karen nodded. "Ugh. Fine. Deal."

As Karen shut her locker, she saw someone go towards her. Gah...not her... Alia approached her. She was wearing such slutty clothes. But yet again, when doesn't she?

"Hey Kasha. What you up to talking to my man?"

"It's Karen. And we were just talking. Why? Obsessive, much?"

Alia scoffed. "Please. No one will ever want you. I mean, look at you!" Disgust was displayed on her face as she eyed Karen up and down.

"And look at you! Of course all boys will want you."

"Ha! I know, I'm just too pretty, aren't I?"

"Pshhh. Don't flatter yourself. It's because you're too easy."

Alia's underlings snickered. And shut up and they received a glare from their queen bee.

"Bitch. You better watch your back."

"Whore. You better watch yours, I think you've got a hunchback already."

Alia glared at her. Then left. "Idiot..." Karen muttered under her breath.

Meanwhile, the shadow. Ah... Yes, the shadow. It has been busy. It has an apprentice. Who wants to take revenge on Karen.

Karen must learn who to trust. And quick. Time is running out.
