-Second chapter-

Karen spun around, and around. Until she finally felt dizzy and stopped to lie down. She shut her eyes, and heard a faint sound calling for her. Karen... Karen... It called out to her. She voiced out loud.

"Who was that? Who called me?"

The voice continued to call for her. It was longing, sad, drawing her to the bunch of trees. The trees, were like barriers, to protect people from entering the forest, the voice called out more, fading away, until it was completely gone. She lay completely still. Trying to forget whatever happened. She looked up at the dull, grey sky. It was going to rain.

"Karen? What are you doing out here? Your party is over, let's go inside your house!"

She heard a familiar voice say out. She sat up, supporting her weight with her hands by the side. She turned half her body around to find Kerri, one of her best friends. Kerri was the same age as her, she had this charm that made it impossible to not like her at all. She stood up, brushing the dirt and grass from my dress.

Karen turned around to see Krev leaning against the door frame. Yeah, he was her sort of 'hot best friend'. Unfortunately for the girls, he's not straight. Hello. It happens. More often than you'd expect. Or...more often than parents will expect. She smiled a tight-lipped smile, as Krev gave her a lopsided smile.

"C'mon, girl. We should already be watching NetFlix and fangirling over HAWT dudes!!"

Krev's voice started to turn into a shrill when the last 2 words came. Karen and Kerri rolled their eyes while chuckling his behaviour. Sigh, it's always great to have a gay best friend at times. Karen thought. Kerri gripped her arm and tugged her into the house. Krev got to pick the movie. Which means a chick lit will be on. Kerri went to grab some snacks while Karen stashed some drinks up in her room.

They all settled down. Krev on the bed, Kerri on the beanbag, and Karen on the other side of the bed. They squealed through the movie, and laughed at some parts. Then get emotional over some. They watched countless of love shows due to Krev. First, it was 'In Your Eyes'. Then there was 'Sleepless in Seattle' and so on. Not long after, their eyelids started to droop. And slowly, Karen fell deep asleep on Krev's chest. She did not notice the shadow outside. Watching her, calling for her, drawing her in.

The shadow clearly stays by her for a reason. Is it good? Or is it bad? Karen... It calls out to her again. And his gaze diverted to him. The shadow wants him to go. He must go. For if he doesn't, his mission will not succeed.
