Jennifer gave Lola a small wave as she left.

"Thanks Lola" Lucas said as he left with her to drop her off at home.

She shrugged. She was a nice person to be honest. It was just a surprise to see her dad dating.

She shut the door behind them and locked it before heading upstairs into her room. She slipped into more comfortable clothes to go to bed in and saw an incoming call from Michael.

She reached over her bed and grabbed her phone.

"Hey"

"Hi"

"So what's up?" Lola asked placing her laptop on her bed and grabbing the packet of sweets from her desk.

"Nothing. Can I not just talk to you?" He chuckled.

"I guess" Lola smirked. His voice was quiet and sounded like a low grumble. It was nearly reaching the point where he was half asleep.

"What's my pretty lady up to then?" He asked.

"I was about to watch some stuff" Lola shrugged pacing her room back and forth.

"Like what?" He asked.

"I don't know, probably a horror movie."

"At this time, by yourself?"

Lola checked the time, it was nine and very dark outside.

"What's wrong with that?"

"You know what do you?"

"Ooh" Lola said excitedly, chucking a sweet into her mouth. "My dad has a girlfriend!"

"For real?"

Lola nodded "Yup".

"Have you met her yet?"

"Yeah, I saw her today"

"Damn," Michael sighed.

"What?"

"Your dad's got more game than me"

"Watchu mean?"

"Ive still not managed to get you under my arm as my girlfriend"

Lola blushed slightly and they spoke on the phone for a while until Michael heard her light snores then ended the call.

THURSDAY

"That's my bestie my bestie my best friend, go best friend!" Lola and Haley sang loudly whilst walking down the hallway with Michael.

"I thought you only listened to Nicki" Michael teased as they approached his locker.

"I have other tastes too" Haley said.

To their surprise they heard Cecilia and Taylor walking towards them and laughing.

"I lowkey forgot she existed" Haley said as they walked past.

Lola caught Cecilia smirk at her.

"Are you okay?" Michael asked looking over at Lola. Her nose started to flare ever so slightly.

"I just can't believe she's my cousin." She shuddered.

"I can see the resemblance" Michael said shutting his locker door.

"You're not supposed to say that."

"I'm being honest, but it's more in the way you guys carry yourselves"

"Then why didn't you ever end up going out with her?"

"Because I like you Lola. Is that hard to believe?"

They spoke for a while until Michael heard Lola's light snores on her end and ended the call.

The following day, Lola was dropped off at school by Jamal and met up with Haley by her locker.

"So do you like her?"

"Who? Jennifer?" Lola asked.

"Who else am I talking about?"  Haley said.

Lola shrugged "she seems really nice and was really excited to see me"

"That's cute" Haley cooed.

"You'd probably love her"

"What if she turns out like every evil step-mother like from Disney?"

"I think I'm good Haley" Lola chuckled. She saw Luke and Michael walking over to them in the corner of her eyes.

She looked back at Haley when Luke put his finger up to his mouth.

Haley made a funny noise once Luke grabbed her by the waist and spun her around"Agh"  

"You okay?" He chuckled.

Lola's attention turned to Michael who slipped his arm onto her waist as he usually did and kissed her temple.

"Hi" She cheesed.

"You look like you're in a good mood" Michael said as they walked away from Luke and Haley.

"Mhmm" she started.

She felt her shoulder move forward slightly when as Cecilia bumped past her, her arms linked with Taylor.

"I'm so sick of her" Lola sighed rolling her eyes.

"That's your cousin though" Michael chuckled teasingly. She shoved him over slightly and they kept walking.

"I'll only admit that because we look alike slightly"

"That's true, you guys have the same body type too"

Lola squinted her eyes at him, he saw the annoyed look on her face.

"I really didn't mean that as a bad thing"

"I know you didn't because she's slim" Lola said still looking at him funny. "And if we basically look the same why didn't you ask her out?"

"Because I like you Lola" Michael said clearly sharing the same annoyance Lola felt.

She grinned and stayed quiet.

"Lola you know I want you to be my girl" Michael said stopping in his tracks making her face him. "I've said it lots of times"

"I was playing" Lola shrugged. "I just thought it was funny you'd compare our bodies."

Michael sighed and tilted his head.

"I like you too Michael" she said copying his movements. She took a piece of fluff off his face and adjusted her bag strap.

"So will you be mine?" Michael asked. "Like can I call you my girlfriend now or are you gonna keep playing?"

Lola laughed and nodded her head. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his lips. "I'm sorry I kept you waiting"

After school

Michael and Lola sat in his car listening to his music this time round and just talking.

Randomly, a cool grin found its way into michael's face.

"What?" Lola asked giggling. She felt hella giddy all of a sudden.

"I'm just glad I get to call you my girlfriend" he said placing his hand on her leg. They had skipped last period which was Gym and sat in his car for about an hour.

Lola leaned forward hesitantly and kissed his lips sweetly, her hand rested lightly on his chest and she could feel his deep breaths as he got deeper and deeper into the kiss. His hand held onto the back of her neck as his other hand rubbed her thigh. He hen proceeded to kiss on her neck making Lola moan slightly. She stopped him and pushed him back when she noticed Emmanuel and Darius approaching the car.

"Damn it's getting steamy in here" Darius chuckled after Michael opened up his door.

"Hi Darius, long time no see"

"Wassup Lola" he greeted.

Emmanuel eyes then funnily.
"Are you guys finally dating or is Lola still dragging you along?" He asked with his arms crossed.

"How'd you know?" Lola smiled.

"Wait, she was never pulling me along, I got-had hoes on the side" Michael said.

"You what now?" Lola looked over at him.

"I'm kidding. You know I stopped fucking with them when I caught feelings for yo uglah ass" he said touching her chin.

"Yeah yeah" Lola brushed off. They got out the car and Michael grabbed his basketball stuff out the boot for training, then he passed Lola her bag.

"I'll see you later" he smiled kissing her on the cheek.

"Bye" she waved to all of them and made her way back to the front of school to see if she could find Jamal or Luke.

"You guys deserve each other" Emmanuel said.

"Thanks" Michael said swinging his bag over his shoulder.

"Did you ever tell her that you had sex with Cecilia though?"

"How do you know about that?" Michael said in a hushed tone.

"You have a lot of eyes on you. Plus, everyone was saying y'all popped each other's cherries" Emmanuel chuckled.

"Who's everyone?" Darius and Michael said in unison.

"I never knew that shit" Darius said.

"Maybe it's just the people I talk to then" Emmanuel shrugged.

FRIDAY

At break, Shamika walked in with a beanie covering her forehead and she had put on some makeup. She wasn't at school the day before and wasn't trying to draw attention.

She made her way to Lola and Haley who sat in at anew table away from everyone, closer to the food area.

"Hey" she said swinging her bag round and dropping it on the table.

"Hey" Haley grinned. "You'll never guess what!"

Shamika didn't say anything, she just sat down and looked between the two of them expectantly. "Spit it out then"

"I'm officially girlfriend and boyfriend with Michael"

"For serious?" Mika smiled.

"Yup" Lola said.

"Aww" Mika pulled her cousin into a hug, which was just a second too long.

"Are you okay? I didn't see you yesterday" Lola asked.

"Neither did I" Haley added.

"Yeah, I'm not feeling good" she said trying to pull off a smile.

"Oh okay" Lola said looking at her funny. Eventually they got back to talking about other stuff like school and tv and Khloe's party.

"Who do you think is gonna show up?" Mika asked reminding Lola of something.

"Oh, I forgot to tell her that I'm bringing Michael and then" Lola said standing up. "I'll see you guys at lunch"

"Ok" Haley said. "I think she invited her old friends that Emmanuel still hangs out with. So there's gonna be a lot of athletes, probably cheerleaders too" Haley answered her question.

"So a lot of good looking people then?" Mika chuckled slightly.

"I guess" Haley shrugged.

"How are you and Luke?"

Haley cheesed and played with her big on her left hand.

"So.." Mika urges her to say something.

"I think I'm gonna tell him I love him."

"Bitchhh" Mika said a bit too loudly.

"Yo Mika" a deep voice called.

Mika turned in her black lace up boots towards Thomas who walked towards her. He had his bag over one shoulder and his brown curl hair flopped messily over his forehead.

"How are you?" He smiled, his straight white teeth looked more flawless than ever. Mika loves the way they resembled the teeth of a vampire, two were oddly sharp and the rest were cute making his smile even cuter.

"I'm good" she smiled.

"I haven't seen you in a while"

"I'm sorry. That's my fault"

"I heard you were talking to Jared or something now"

Mika tensed, "it's complicated".

He just chuckled as if it was nothing. She relaxed a bit more.

"Well I'm here if you'd ever like to talk" he said about to walk away.

Mika sighed as he turned away, she still felt that giddy feeling when she was around him. Like bubbles popping in her stomach. Why she decided to go back to Jared, she's never know.

After her next lesson was lunch. Mika has put her bags in her locker and was heading to the lunch hall when she spotted Jared.

"Jared!" She called after him.

His face turned cold when he spotted her, but he still walked towards her.

"I need to talk to you" she said. "Privately"

They went out into the hallway and Jared looked at Mika closely.

"I didn't mean to hurt you, I'm sorry" he said moving the beenie and looking at the stitches had gotten done. "Did you snitch on me?"

"No" Mika said looking offended. "Why would I do that? It was an accident"

He didn't reply.

Mika rapped her foot nervously. "I need to tell you something"

"Go on ahead. Spit it out" he said impatiently.

"I'm pregnant"

Jared didn't say anything again.

"Jared"

"What? What do you want me to say?" He spat. "I can't afford a kid" his mood was quickly changing.

"Well it's here" Mika said.

"What do you want to do? Keep it?" Jared raised his voice.

"Would that be so bad?"
Mika replied.

"I'm not about to take care of no kid now" he yelled. Mika flinched. "How do I even know you're really pregnant?"

"Why would I like to you about that?" Mika said her voice cracking. She didn't know how he would take it but this wasn't at all what she expected.

"I don't know. You tell me"

"I'm not lying, I'm pregnant"

"So, What? Do you want abortion money?" Jared yelled. He reached into his pocket and grabbed a wad of cash. He took off the band and pulled some notes out.

"What are you doing?"
Mika cried. Her eyes were sparkling and her throat felt tight in the worst way.

"Here take it" he threw it in her face and threw a little more. 

"Stop it" she cried.

"Mika?" Haley stared at the both of them from the door of the girls bathroom.

Mika just sprinted in the opposite direction.

"Wait!" Haley ran after her and gave Jared a stank look. She turned around and jogged back over to Jared.

"I knew you were gonna ended up tripping up eventually" Haley squinted her eyes at him and picked up two 20s off the floor then continued to run after Mika.

She followed her into a empty classroom.

"Hey what's up?" Haley asked breathing heavily.

"Did you pick up his money?" Mika asked.

"No" Haley said stuffing the cash into the back pocket of her jeans making Mika laugh.

"Do you want half?" Haley asked sitting next to her on the desk.

She shook her head.

They sat quietly for a minute or two.

"I'm pregnant" Mika sighed.

Haley coughed and spluttered.

"You okay?" Mika asked tapping her back as she continued to cough.

"Mhmm" Haley nodded calming down a big. "Sorry" she chuckled nervously. "How're you feeling? Is this good news for you?"

Mika shrugged. "It could've been if the dad cared"

"Is that why he was chucking money?"

"He wants me to get an abortion" Mika said.

"Shit"

Mika laughed a little.

"Sorry, excuse my language"

"It's okay, I just never hear you curse"

"When did you find out?"

"Two weeks ago"

"Wow. What are you gonna do?"

"I want to keep the baby"

Haley smiled.

"What?" Mika asked.

"Nothing. I just like babies."

Lola sat with Emmanuel and Darius at their table that lunch.

Their friends were kinder this time round.

"What time is your thing?" Lola asked Khloe.

"Starts at 6" she said.

"We'll be there at 7:30" Michael whispered in her ear (she was currently sitting on his lap).

"Did I send you my address?" Khloe asked.

"Yup" Lola nodded.

"Are you coming over with your cousin?" Thomas asked. Lola had learnt that Thomas, and Khloe were step siblings.

"She should be"

"I like your hair" one of Khloe's friends said. "I wish my hair was that curly." Another girl nodded her head in agreement.

"My hair's almost identical" Thomas joked running his hands through his curls. "You never say that about me"

"Because we don't care" the girl said mockingly.

Lola looked over at the brunette girl's long straight hair and smiled. "Thanks."
