It's been 3 years since Lola and Michael has broken up...

SUMMER 2022

Lola woke up to a bang. She opened one eye and saw her little sister, Sophia, on the floor surrounded by empty cardboard boxes.

"How did you even get in here?" Lola sighed stretching in her bed. Sophia got back up and waddled towards her big sister, dragging one of the boxes with her.

"Leave it Sophia" Lola said. Sophia kept hold of it so Lola repeated herself "I said leave it on the floor"

She dropped it and pouted a little. Lola grinned a little at her little sister.

"Let's go brush our teeth" she said holding her hand out.

Sophia held onto Lola's index finger and pulled her along to the bathroom.

Lola could hear Jennifer and Iris in the twins' bedroom.

She picked Sophia up and put her on the counter then helped her brush her teeth.

"Lola!" Iris giggled when Jennifer opened the bathroom door wider.

"Hey Iris. Are you okay?" Lola asked.

"Yeahhh" She said. Jennifer let her stand by herself on the floor, but Iris stayed next to her leg and started sucking her thumb as she usually did.

"How's the packing going?" Jennifer asked.

"It's okay" Lola nodded making Sophia spit into the sink. "I've done all the little stuff. I'm gonna pack some of my clothes today and bring them to the apartment today" after gaining a stable position at 'Ashridge Architect and Homes' as a real estate agent she got a raise and started saving up to move out.

"We're really gonna miss you Lola" Jennifer said taking Iris' hand out her mouth.

"Where are you going?" Sophia threw her arms up in the air with toothpaste still around her lips.

"I'm getting my own place" Lola said sorting Sophia out. Sophia looked at her big sister funny since she didn't fully understand.

LOLA

Sebastian helped me pick up a couple of boxes and put them into the back of his car.

"Thanks for helping me out" I said as we walked back up the stairs into my room to grab some other things.

"You know it's all good" he said touching the small of my back for a hot minute before taking my y'all lamp and holding another box in his other hand.

"Are you sure you're gonna be able to carry that I said piling two boxes together and carrying them.

"Yeah" he deepened his voice "I've been working out" he said flexing his muscles making me laugh.

"Put it back" Sophia screamed running towards Sebastian's leg and pinching his trouser leg making him laugh.

"Leave him alone Sophia, go find mummy" I said trying to distract her.

"Nuh-uh" she pouted.

"Sophia, go find mummy she's calling you" I said.

She turned around and started calling out 'mummy' as she walked out the room.

"You can keep telling me you don't have a favourite twin but Sophia clearly likes you more than Iris" Sebastian said.

"Why?" I laughed.

"Iris didn't even notice us carrying your stuff out she just walked away with her thumb in her mouth"

I just laughed. I felt my phone vibrate and put the boxes in my hand down.

"I'll be down in a minute" I said letting Sebastian take my stuff down.

"Heyyy" Haley said when I picked up the phone.

"Hi" I smiled. Haley had just graduated from University a month ago and was back in town.

"I'm gonna see Shamika with Aniyah. You coming?"

"When are you going?" I asked.

"I don't know, whenever ANIYAH DECIDES SHES GOOD TO GO!" Haley yelled.

I laughed.

"I'm packing some stuff to bring to my apartment. If you guys stay till later I might see you"

"Ohh. I completely forgot. Do you need help?"

"I'm good, Sebastian's helping me" I smirked.

"I still need to meet this guy"

"You've already seen pictures of him. And that one time we FaceTimed"

"I wanna see him face to face" Haley insisted. "Luke said he's Aight but I don't know if he's being forreal or not"

"I think Luke just doesn't like me being in relationships after Michael"

"What about Jamal and Chris?"

"Chris is always acting stupid" I rolled my eyes and heard Haley laugh.

"Jamal hasn't said anything. But we're not that serious. I mean we've not in labelled ourselves as girlfriend and boyfriend"

"You said he said he loves you" Haley said clearly not impressed.

"Yeah I know, but he's never actually asked. He calls me babe and stuff. And we hold hands in public or whatever. Maybe he automatically assumed we are" I looked at my door in case he was coming up.

"You should ask him" Haley suggested.

"Yeah I guess I should"

"If you come to Shamika's, bring him too" Haley said shuffling around.

"Hey Lola" Aniyah spoke through the phone.

"Hey Aniyah" I said. "I'll see you guys at Shamika's"

"Byeee" they both said.

Lola picked up some boxes and walked downstairs to Sebastian's car.

He stood at his car looking down at his phone and said it into his pocket when he saw me coming.

"Who was on the phone?" He smiled taking a box off of me and helping me put it in the car.

"My friends. Haley wants to meet you in person" I said.

"Oh really" He chuckled turning to face me.

"They're all going to Mika's today"

"I don't mind meeting your friends." He said when I put He last box into the car.

"It's not all of them so you don't need to worry" I said. H stepped towards me and wrapped his arms around my waist, so naturally I placed my arms on his shoulders.

"I'm not scared of your friends" he chuckled.

"I didn't even say that" I rolled my eyes.

"That's what you implied" he said matter of factly.

"Sooo" I started. "When you told me you loved me-"

"Yes?" He said pushing me to finish.

"Did you imply, we were a thing? Like boyfriend and girlfriend?"

The side of his lip twisted upwards into a naughty grin.

"Stop pulling that face" I said looking away.

"What face?" He laughed.

"It doesn't matter" I shook my head and looked at him "soo?"

"I mean if you want it to" he chuckled.

"It's a yes or no Sebastian?"

"I thought it did but clearly you didn't"

"I'm used to people asking me up front" I said.

He tilted his head down so he was fully looking down at me "Do you want to be my girlfriend, my girl, my boo?" He asked looking amused.

"I'll have to think about it" I shrugged. I felt his hand tickle my waist making me burst out laughing. "Fine, yes yes yes" I repeated till he stopped.

It was around 5 when I decided we had done enough to my apartment for the day.

Sebastian drove us both to Shamika and Thomas' apartment.

"Let us up" I said into the microphone at the entrance after sailing their apartment '243'.

"Wow. Not even a hello" Thomas answered.

"Just open up Thomas" I said.

"Not with that attitude"

The little buzzing sound in the background stopped meaning he had cut the call.

"Is He forreal?" I said dialling their apartment again.

"Thomas-" And he cut it again.

This time, Sebastian dialled and spook "aye, I apologise on behalf of my moody ass girl. So would you be kind enough to let us up? Please?"

"Damn, he sounds fine" we heard a voice say in the background making me laugh.

"We can hear you stupid" I said as a loud beep came through meaning we could finally open the door.

"Ahhh!" Haley shrieked when she opened the apartment door for us. She jumped on me giving me a really tight hug.

"Hey stupid" I laughed hugging her tight as well.

"And hello Sebastian" Haley smiled at him.

He nodded his head at her "nice to finally meet you".

"I cannot lie, I thought you was shorter."

"Did I not show you our pictures?" I said.

"Yeah, but he's even taller than the pictures show and that time on FaceTime"

"To be honest I thought you was gonna be taller anyways." He said to Haley.

"I'm tall" she said parting her lips a little and letting us in.

I walked into the living room and saw Thomas with my nephew, Caleb.

FLASHBACK

"It hurtsssss" Mika groaned. She was getting a little sweaty and didn't want to move around anymore.

"The nurse said you gotta move around" Uncle T said.

"I'm not tryna be rude dad, but you don't know how the hell this is feeling!" She screamed squeezing Lola's hand tightly.

"I know I said you can hold my hand but you need to take a few breaths" Lola said.

She had gone into labour when she was out with Thomas at a festival in a park or something. He had called Lola because he didn't have her dad's number, then Lola called Uncle T and her dad. On the way to the hospital with her dad, she sent a text into the group chat.

"Lola it really hurts" she said on the verge of tears.

"Maybe you should lay down now" Lola suggested. She looked over to Uncle T and he went to find a nurse or doctor.

Lola held her baby nephew in her arms. Mika was really tired and her dad sat next to her holding her hand.

"So who's the dad?" Uncle T asked.

Lola snickered a little and turned away a little so Mika wouldn't see her laughing.

The baby was healthy but he didn't come out as dark as they had anticipated. He looked very white for a black baby and his eyes, you could try and say they were light brown, but they looked green.

"The only other person I slept with was Thomas but.." she stopped talking and relaxed into her bed cheesing.

"But what?" Her dad asked.

"Nothing. It makes sense, I mean the baby came earlier than I anticipated" she said.

"So this happened when you and Jared were broken up?" I asked.

"I guess so" she said clearly more than relived that her baby daddy wasn't Jared.

"In other circumstances I would shout at you for this whole mess. But I like Thomas, he knows that right?"

"To be honest, you can be quite scary when Thomas is around. Your nostrils automatically flare up" Lola said as baby Caleb moved around in her arms a little.

Uncle T stood up and took Caleb out of my arms. "It's doesn't matter because he's the father of my grandson, so I'll treat him like that."

When Mika told Thomas, it wasn't clear if he was happy or not at first. He walked out the room and seemed to be making a phone call.

"He's soooo cuteeee" Haley shrieked.

"Shh you're gonna wake him up." Mika said, he laid against her chest fast asleep.

"I still can't believe it's Thomas' kid" Luke said looking at the pictures he had taken. "He's gonna grow up to be a good looking guy"

FLASHBACK OVER

"Hey cutie pie" I smiled walking over to Thomas and Caleb.

"Mika's just in the other room, you're gonna have to calm down with alla that" Thomas said.

"I was talking 'bout my baby Caleb" I rolled my eyes and picked him up giving him a hug.

"Wow, you are getting heavy. What have they been feeding you?" I said making him smile at me.

"Cookies!" He giggled. He was at the point where he only wanted to eat sweet things.

"Yo what's up man" Sebastian said introducing himself to Thomas.

"Sorry, this is my boyfriend Sebastian. Sebastian this is Thomas, the guy who wouldn't let us up, and my beautiful nephew Caleb." I said.

"If I knew there was someone else with you I would've let you up straight away" Thomas said.

"Your dad is a horrible man, okay Caleb?"I said putting him down.

"Nooo, daddy's nice" he said running to the couch to sit down and watch his cartoons. He noticed Sebastian and stood up slowly and went behind Thomas.

"He doesn't like strangers" Thomas said.

"That's Aight" Sebastian said. "Little man looks like you a lot"

"Yeah he does" Thomas said ruffling Caleb's curls.

"So you boutta come to my place and not say hi?" Mika said coming into the room.

"I was saying hi to your rude ass boyfriend" I said sticking my tongue out at him.

"Language" Mika said looking over at Caleb who was looking between the adults in the room. I saw Haley and Aniyah stood to the side watching me and Sebastian from behind and smirked.

Aniyah started pointing down at his bum and curving her hands like she was stroking a ball making me snicker. I leaned into him and put my hand around his waist, he automatically put his arm around my shoulder.

"Wassup Sebastian" Mika said nodding his way like they always did after they first met.

"You good homie" Sebastian nodded at Mika laughing.

"I'm cool cuz" she said hunching her shoulders over like a guy. "Im not tryna intrude, but I gotta talk to ya lady"

"No problem take her away" he said about to take his arm off my shoulder. I slid my hand down and squeezed on his butt cheek making him jump.

Aniyah and Haley burst out laughing as they left the room.

"I told you stop with alla that shit" Sebastian said turning around as I chased after the others.

We went into Mika and Thomas' bedroom. They had moved in this year after Thomas finished a course at university and it was all payed for by Thomas' parents since they were loaded and were proud of their son. Khloe often came to see her nephew as well as the grandparents. And while he was studying, Mika had started out as an assistant to a PR manager, mostly from home. They were already planning to get a house in the next 5 years since they were on a stable income.

Mika walked in last with Caleb holding onto her hand. Once he got in the room he let go and jumped onto the bed with Aniyah and snuggled up to her.

"What about me?" I said gasping dramatically. He sat up and pulled my hand so I'd move closer towards him and he was sandwiched between me and Aniyah.

"And me?" Haley said.

"No!" He scrunched his eyebrows.

Haley raised his eyebrows making him laugh.

"No!" He said again waiting for her facial reaction a second time.

"I'm not even gonna entertain him" Haley said.

Aniyah gave him her phone and put on a video from YouTube.

"So, since everyone is back in town, Emmanuel's planned a get together"

"Cool. Why couldn't you tell me out there?" I asked.

"Because Michael is gonna be there. And it's okay if you don't wanna go, I just didn't want to make it awkward in front of Sebastian."

I saw Aniyah sit up in the corner of my eye making Caleb lean more towards me.

"Is that your ex?" Aniyah asked.

I nodded my head "Yup".

"So are you coming?" Haley asked.

They all nodded their heads.

"Sure" I said. "I'll come"

// I feel bad every time i update really late I promise.

This was like a catch up in their new lives and stuff. I'll do flashbacks so things make sense. And I know kids talk funny but I'm not about to make them sound dumb dumb so I'll just make 'em talk like normal people, plus that's less effort 😂.
