Sam

This place is the biggest house I think I have ever seen. It makes the mansion back in England look tiny! There was even a curved bridge to get from one side to the other, obviously it took too long to get around normally!

It also meant that if I wanted to avoid anyone within the place, it would be pretty easy. The whole place looked like a palace made of yellow stone and marble, it had turrets sticking out everywhere along with a pond right at the front. There was a huge fountain situated right in the centre like a court yard in a circular shape. As the cars all drove inside, I could see people stood at all the entrances and even on the roof, though non of them had their guns out, something told me they all had them.

Why are they still trying to hide this from me? Did they think I was an idiot?

There was also a crowd of people waiting at the front door, grandparents maybe? Uncles? They looked older than Adam did but they still looked rather young. The uncles and aunts looked around 50 whereas the older ones looked about late 60's. Damn, people in this family have kids rather young.

Couldn't be me, I don't even know if I want to have children, especially not to live like this but you never know what happens. I've never had a mother so I wouldn't know what it feels like, Charlie is the closet thing I have to a mother, and a father actually. Though lately he has been more distant yet more protective, like he finally is seeing me as a child that shouldn't be told anything, basically Adam said something to him and he has completely changed.

He still wants to leave, right? I mean, that was the whole plan, his birthday is in less than two months and then we are heading to the road, maybe to find our grandmother or some other family from our mothers side.

There were curtains moving from inside the house, a few faces could be seen, it looked like three girls a little bit older than I was and a bunch of other people, though there was one window moving from one of the turrets and I could see a girl around my age with brown hair staring at me.

Why did I feel nervous? I am never nervous when I meet people, though I could suddenly see the shift in the car within Leo, Max and Aiden. There faces suddenly changed into something a lot less kind than I'm used to.

"Are you guys nervous?", I asked them sarcastically, opening my mouth slightly to imitate shock as they all just smirked and nodded their heads slightly.

"Nervous? This is family, but this family has certain rules and you're going to have to learn them as you go along, we can't just tell you how to behave", Leo said cryptically as the other two nodded, grabbing some sun glasses from a pot in the car.

"Is that one of the rules?", I said innocently though I meant it sarcastically. I think Leo realised that he shook his head at Aiden as Max just chuckled. I inhaled at we pulled up to the front door, there were more people now, cousins.

There were loads of them just stood their waiting. I pulled Arktos tightly to my chest as a dude opened the door for Aiden and Max. They got out slowly, dramatically more like as they put their glasses on. I could see Charlie getting out of the other car, he kept moving his hands up and down the side of his legs to show how nervous he was.

The elderly woman at the front, presumptuously my grandmother, had a huge smile on her face as Adam and Leo got out of the car.

"My grandbabies are here!", She said excitedly, pulling them both into a hug at the same time as Max, Aiden and Chris stood waiting for their turn. Raymond stayed close to Charlie as I got out of the car, holding onto Arktos as I gave everyone a good look up and down, trying to find any clue to what they are like.

After a few awkward hugs, I could see some of the cousins staring at me and as I looked up, I could see my grandfather giving me the same look up and down I give to others. He gave me evil villain and family man vibes at the same time. The cousins kept looking around the place, glaring at guards if they even looked in our direction.

"And you must be Charlie, come here", Grandmother said, well nearly shouted, as she was rather excited it seemed to see us all as she pulled him into a tight hug. Charlie hesitated for a moment before completely falling into her hug as she messed his hair up.

"You are so handsome, just like your father", She said with a grin as Grandfather nodded his head, a small smile on his face. She turned to me and knelt down to my height. I just stared at her and covered my face with my eyes, not because I was shy, but because she was rather close to me but I can't exactly make a scene right now.

She went out to move my hair but I moved away from her but hit Adams leg. She just smiled at me as grandfather gave her a hand up.

"Not someone who likes to be touched then, that's fine, I'm like that too", She said with a grin causing me to smile back at her. Grandfather stared at me for a moment before turning to the door of the house, motioning to the others to come inside.

As we walked through, Adam moved his leg slightly to motion for me to go inside. I turned to Charlie as he walked next to me into the house, though the cousins waited for us to go in, giving hugs to our brothers as me and Charlie gawked at the inside of this mansion.

Jesus Christ.

So, this is how the 0.001% lives. Rather dull to be honest, everything was white with some wood every now and again but other than that it looked like the inside of a hospital with how pristine everything looked. It looked extremely clean.

"Alright, lets get everyone into the living room so we introduce everyone and have some lunch together, is that alright? You might be tired from your flight?", Grandmother asked everyone as Adam shook his head slightly, smiling at her. She nodded quickly as everyone followed her down a few corridors.

The girl I saw earlier came out into the corridor, looking at me with curiosity.

"I'm guessing that's Ebony", I heard Charlie whisper to Raymond as he nodded his head. How the hell would he know? Did Adam tell him who everyone was when they were in the car? I thought we had to "figure it out". I turned to Charlie with a confused expression as he just nodded at me. There were people everywhere as we entered the living room, which by the way, was bigger than a school lunch room.

"Alright, everyone grab a seat and we can all say hello and who our parents are and everything and just a small thing about yourself", Grandfather bellowed through the room as the noise stopped. I could see people sitting within their parts of the family as others followed to different sides of the room.

Me and Charlie just stood awkwardly until Raymond pulled us towards their section of the room. Grandmother clapped her hands in excitement as everyone smiled at her.

"I am just so happy for everyone to be together, this very rarely happens, and although the circumstances aren't brilliant, we are still here", She said with joy filled in her voice.

As each person went around the room, they all introduced themselves with saying some random thing about each other I don't even remember now. From what I can tell with the dynamic of everything, there was some sort of hierarchy within the group itself.

What grandmother says is what happens. She seemed to be the head of the family as Grandfather sat quietly, listening to her as she spoke without interrupting once. The uncles seemed to have some sort of beef with each other as their wives spoke happily to each other.

There was also my aunt who had a daughter Ebony who keeps eyeing me up everyone now and again. Though it seemed like the real problem were the three fake mean girls in the corner staring at me, giggling every now and again as they whispered. See, I was used to people laughing about me for being weird or different, but I didn't think that family would every do that to me.

Though it seemed that they didn't like Ebony as they made jokes about her too. At least me and her have something in common. The cousins didn't really say much, some were around Adam and Leos age and some were Chris's and Max's age, though Adam seemed to be much less powerful when we are with all the family though he still had that aura about him. Leo actually seemed to have more power within this family dynamic.

"Alright, now that we have introduced ourselves we will all go and eat some lunch together and I'm sure you can all get to know each other much better", She said to everyone, giving me a wink as I smiled at her. I could sense people looking at me every now and again but I ignored it. I am so tired, all I want to do is sleep instead of eating, but I guess I just had to play the game.

Though I had no idea how to blame the game, nor do I know the consequences if I lose.
