"This is crazy! Ebony.....Pst Ebony", I whispered to her as she attempted to pick the lock of the basement. I was internally screaming. She was crazy, what if we got caught? Pretending to get lost is one thing but pretending to break into somewhere is a completely different story. 

"It's fine, aren't you curious?", She whispered over to me, kneeling down next to the door, staring at me with open eyes. I nodded my head slowly as she turned back to the door, sighing in exasperation.  

"Hurry up", I whispered to her as she shook her head at me, shushing me with her finger. She seemed too calm, as though as she had done this before.

"You would suck as a spy", She said with an annoyed face as the door clicked. She grinned as it did, slowly opening the door. It creaked open slowly, like we were in a IT horror story. 

"Bingo, lets go, quickly before someone comes", She said to me with a smirk, looking around one more time before slowly going in, waving at me to follow her. At least I didn't have to worry about Scar Face, he had to go on a task or something for a mission. 

That's what he told me anyway although he looked nervous. 

"Who the hell wants to be a spy anyway", I whispered as Ebony gave me a look of surprise. Maybe it was the annoyance in my voice that confused her.

"Who wouldn't?", She questioned me back with a smirk still on her face. I looked at her with obvious sarcasm as she glared at me. 

"What?", She asked me quietly as we made out way down the staircase into the basement. We were breathing heavily as we made our way down, hearing nothing but complete silence. 

"Why would you want to do something that makes you paranoid for your entire life?", I asked her as she shrugged her shoulders, giving me a look of realisation before quietly moving to the next step. 

"Good point I guess", She said, as though that hadn't even occurred to her before hand. As we made out way down, it became rockier with red stained wood on the wall. Ebony looked at me with fear in his eyes before trying to give me a look of reassurance and a small smile.

"It's fine, we are fine", She said to me as though she was my older sister or something. I nodded at her as we continued down the corridor, noticing her hand had now turned into a fist as she trembled slightly. 

"We should go Ebony", I said to her as shook her head. 

"No way, I have been wanting to go into this room for years, I practiced lock picking on my own door for three years before I got it just right", She complained as I shook my head, realising now the stupidity of this plan.

"If we don't go now and we get caught do you realise how badly this can look, sneaking around. They will never trust us again", I said to her I made her look me in the eyes. She nodded at me as we slowly made our way back up the stairs. 

Just before we got to the door, we heard Grandpa's voice shouting at someone. 

"Why the fuck is he lying?", I heard him yell as he entered the basement. We hid under the stairs and tried to make ourselves look as small as possible. Grandpa rushed down the stairs as dust from underneath hit us on the head, going all in our hair. 

Ebony went to ask me something but I put my hand up to her mouth, trying to make her quiet before she nodded her head. 

"We don't know sir, we have checked into this family and we see nothing out of the ordinary", A guy said as his voice changed pitch as he spoke. We heard three gun shots ring off into the air as Ebony clutched onto my hand. I tried to move it away before I saw that she was crying. 

I nodded at her with a straight face until we heard a door slam lower down the corridor. We were about to move before we heard Adam and Leo speaking to each other. 

"What the fuck is going on?", They asked each other as we heard Aiden and Max arguing with each other as they headed down the stairs. 

"We can try and find out?", Chris asked before they all replied with a sharp No. I gave Ebony an all-knowing look, that we should never of interfered in the first place. 

"Whatever, when do we get to go home?", Aiden asked Adam as they all stood together in the hallway, causing us to try not to breathe, as if we did, it was slow and as silent as possible. 

"Look, you know the plan, let them sweep the place, find the planted information and go off and fight the Spanish", Leo said as if it was second nature, as if it was obvious. It was all planned? That whole invasion was on purpose? It made sense to now as it was the smartest thing to do, but I didn't think he would put his whole family in danger. 

"Yeah, but I don't get why we had to sacrifice our house for it", Max complained as they argued. As thought this was a normal family argument with each other. 

"Because we had the perfect bait my brothers", Adam said as they shook hand with excitement. Bait? Who was the bait? 

"Shhh, keep it down", Chris said before motioning towards the ceiling. 

"Don't worry, Sam hasn't left her room since Charlie left", Adam said in an annoyed tone. I heard them all sigh before they headed down the hallway, nearly all the way to the end.

"She's a loyal sister, leave her be", Chris said as they all nodded.

"Hey, lets just hope she gives that to all of us one day alright, we need her to start to trust us, Leo, you're taking her our tomorrow right?", Adam asked him as she shook his head. Ebony looked at me with widened eyes as I shook my head, begging her to keep quiet. 

"I can't tomorrow", He said as his phone rang. He put his finger up to motion "one second" before heading into the room at the end of the corridor. 

"We can take her out, show her Italy a bit more", Max said as Aiden and Chris agreed, grinning together. 

"Fine, but nothing stupid. Take her to a museum or something, get her ice cream. Try and act nice for her please? She is our little sister after all, not some random girl", Adam said to them firmly as they all nodded with a smile.

"Dude we know, don't worry, we will have a baller of a time!", They said with excitement as they turned to each other, heading back down the hallway before going up the stairs, Adam instead of following them, went into the same room as Leo did.

"Lets go tell her now so she can plan her outfit or whatever girls do", Chris said happily. At any moment it seemed like he going to skip down the hallway. 

"We got to get out of here", Ebony whispered to me as I nodded, the basement door slamming before it suddenly became very quiet. 

"Well that was terrifying", Ebony said with a sigh of relief. I rolled my eyes at her I moved her hand away from mine, heading up the stairs slowly before opening it, Ebony following right behind me.

"Quickly, we got to get to a living room or something to make it seem like we hanging out rather than trying to sneak into their private study or whatever is down there", I said as she nodded, motioning me to follow. 

"When they are out tomorrow, I'll head down there again and see what's going on", She said before I turned around quickly to her as she smirked.

"Just kidding. There is no in hell I am ever going to go down there again", She replied with a grin, rushing into a room with 4 sofas directed at a huge television. She ran to the remote and turned it on, putting "Mean Girls" on from Netflix. We both sat on the sofa quickly as she grabbed a bag of popcorn from a cupboard underneath the television. She pulled a blanket over us with a smile.

"Shh, just act normal", She said as she sat on one end as I sat on the other. We both sat for a moment in silence as we tried to slow down out breathing, to make ourselves seem less stressed. 

"Okay, we look normal now, eat some of this popcorn quickly so it seems like we have been in here for a long time", I said to her as I grabbed the remote, rushing the movie to half way through. 

"Hey kiddo", I heard Chris say by the door, coming into the living room with Max and Aiden following.

"We are heading out tomorrow, us four", He said as he sat on the sofa in the middle of us. 

"Yep, so get whatever you need, we heading out at 11 ish", Aiden said with a smile, a genuine smile towards me. Max did the same thing before they all headed out the room, not before Chris gave me a pat on the head. 

"See you", Chris said with a chirpy voice. When they left, we both gave a sigh of relief before turning to the movie. 

"Thank God for that", Ebony said I turned to her with an annoyed look on my face. She waved her hands in the air before I got off the sofa and went back to my room, ignoring her calls of my name. I needed to think for a while. Bait? Who was the bait?
