It had been three months since Nightmare and the others were freed, and three months since you and Nightmare were engaged. Dream had planned most of the wedding, but said he wanted to keep some parts as surprises. You and Nightmare wanted just a simple wedding with only close friends and family, but Dream insisted on having half the multiverse come.

"I want the whole world to know about you and Nightmare!!" He had said. You and Nightmare eventually agreed if you and him didn't have to greet all of them. Dream had agreed reluctantly. Dream had gotten the wedding cake. You had asked to keep it simple, and he may or may not have gotten a ginormous quadruple stacked cake covered in laced white and purple designs. You and Nightmare got a laugh out of Dream's idea of 'simple'.

But now here you stood, waiting for the doors to be opened so that you could be officially married. Your godfather, Mr. Smee, walked up to you, asking, "Are you ready?" 

You smiled eagerly. "Ready as I'll ever be!" 

He looked at you affectionately, then kissed you on the cheek with tears in his eyes. "I'm so proud." 

You laughed and said, "None of that now! I don't want to start crying before I start walking!"

He laughed and said, "Alright then." 

He offered you his arm and you gladly took it. The wedding march began and the doors opened. You were met with a long room filled with skeletons, humans, and monsters of all shapes and sizes. Your eyes widened and you began to walk down the aisle slowly, soaking in everything you saw. Your eyes traveled to the walk way, which was glowing a dark black, but every time you took a step, that area turned a gorgeous purple. 'One of Dream's surprises, no doubt.' You thought to yourself, amazed.

You then looked up to see a stunned Nightmare. You smiled shyly at him. He blushed, but continued to watch you fixedly. As you neared him, you were met with a line of groomsmen. You hadn't really had any friends back at the village, so Cherry, Cross, Horror, and Dusk were your honorary bridesmaids. Error, Killer, Dust, and Dream were Nightmare's groomsmen.

Cherry and Dusk had helped you with your hair, makeup, and dress. As you neared the altar, you turned to Mr. Smee. He had tears in his eyes and you kissed him on the cheek. He hugged you, then sat on the pews. You then joined Nightmare at the altar. He looked at you with a look of bliss and happiness like no other in his eyes.

A skeleton dressed as a pastor walked in between you and Nightmare and said, "Bring forth the rings!" Dream had really wanted to do a vow ceremony, but you and Nightmare thought it was too much work, so you decided on a simple ring ceremony. Nightmare had put Dream in charge of the rings.

Dream walked forth, but wasn't holding the rings. He smiled broadly, then clapped his hands twice. What happened next took everyone by surprise. The back of the chapel, where you had entered, flared a deep purple. The whole congregation turned to witness the light show. The walls glowed with magic. The edges began to turn gold and the gold began to creep into the middle of the wall.

The gold then stopped and formed a purple flower. Everyone 'ooh'ed and 'aww'ed as the flower began to grow and emerge from the wall, becoming a large 3D flower. It floated down the aisle and the walkway turned a light purple as it passed. The flower then floated, and shrunk into Dream's hands. He then walked to you and Nightmare and presented the purple flower, which held the rings in the center of the blossom. You and Nightmare looked at Dream significantly and he beamed proudly at you. He probably had the time of his life planning that.

The rings were simple and cute. Like you expected the ring ceremony to be. Nightmare's was smooth with purple flakes glittering along the metal. Your's didn't have a diamond, it instead had a purple fire opal. You took Nightmare's and he took yours. It was at this point when you looked into his captivating purple eyes, when you began to cry. You smiled and tears began to flow down your face as you looked at the man you were going to dedicate the rest of your life to.

"Do you, Nightmare, take Y/n L/n, to be your lawfully wedded wife?" 

Nightmare's smile broadened and he said confidently, "I do." 

The pastor then looked to you, saying, "Do you, Y/n L/n, take Nightmare, to be your lawfully wedded husband?" 

Two more tears fell as you said, your voice breaking a little from crying, "I do!" Nightmare took your left hand, then carefully placed the ring on your ring finger.

You then took his hand, and slid the ring onto his ring finger. "You may now kiss the bride." 

"Sorry, but the first kiss is for my dad!" Nightmare laughed and you walked to Mr. Smee, who was crying uncontrollably. You kissed him on the cheek, then joined Nightmare back at the altar.

The room exploded into screaming and clapping as Nightmare swung an arm around your waist, the other one around your upper back, and dipped you. He kissed you and you could feel his smile through the kiss. You kissed back. When he lifted you, he held you by the waist and you had your arms around his neck.

You rested your forehead against his, then whispered, "I love you so much." 

He smiled and you noticed he had tears of his own streaming down his face. "I love you too." You then tilted your head and kissed him again on the mouth. 

You felt a hand on your back and turned to see Dusk, smiling blissfully. "COME ON, WE NEED TO GET READY FOR THE RECEPTION." You nodded and broke from Nightmare, who was being led away by Dream.

You and Nightmare were waiting in a room in the castle. The plan was to rest for a hour and a half, then go to the reception, eat, dance, then you and Nightmare would be sent off to your honeymoon. The reception will be held in the ballroom in the castle, and you and Nightmare had a carriage that would take you away to the country to honeymoon in a cute little cottage.

"I can't believe it! We're married!" Nightmare said, dumbfounded. 

You laughed and lay back on the bed you were resting on. "Oh, I know!" 

Nightmare leaned over you and you smiled up at him. He bent down, his arms to either side of you and planted a kiss on your lips. "I'm married to the most perfect girl in the whole world!" He shouted after he broke from the kiss.

You laughed, then sat up to be near him. "And I'm married to the best man in the whole multiverse!" You shouted. You and Nightmare laughed, then he placed an arm around you. You rested your head on his shoulder, and closed your eyes. 

"Getting married is exhausting." Nightmare mumbled. 

You let out a giggle, then pulled him down to lay next to you on the bed. "Mhm." You hummed, pulling him closer.

Nightmare chuckled, then wrapped his arms around you. After a minute or so, you both dozed off and fell asleep in each other's arms.

"Wake up!! Wake up or you're gonna be late to your own reception!!" You and Nightmare awoke to Dream shaking you. 

"Alright, alright!" You laughed. Dream took both you and Nightmare's hands and teleported you to a pair of doors.

"Now, we eat, listen to the speeches, dance, and then people will congratulate you guys!" Dream summarized. 

"Ok, thanks a million." Nightmare said.

Dream let out an excited squeal. "I have a sister!!" He said happily. 

You laughed, then hugged him, saying, "Thanks again for everything." He smiled, then teleported away.

Nightmare offered his arm to you and you took it. The doors opened and you and Nightmare began to descend down the stairs. People clapped and hollered and you and Nightmare smiled broadly at them. Less people, thankfully, were here. Instead, it was just close friends and family.

You and Nightmare walked across the ballroom, then took your seats at the end of the table next to each other. Before the Nightmare Papyruses began to serve the food, Nightmare leaned over to you, whispering, "I may or may not have forgotten to tell you that we have a tradition where when someone hits their fork to their drink, it isn't a toast, it's a call that means the bride and groom hafta kiss."

You laughed, then whispered back, "That sounds like a fun tradition." 

"It's fun, until you hafta kiss with your mouth full of food." You laughed again, then pecked him on the cheek. Nightmare Papyruses began to fill the room and placed fish of all sorts on the table. Each plate had a label that was enchanted, so that if you whispered the word on the label, a portion of the food would float to you.

You ordered your share of the meal and, before you could eat, you heard the first glass clink. People began to laugh, then clink their glasses, filling the room with noise. You turned to Nightmare, who was already facing you, and you kissed for a second or two before you began to eat. Nightmare tried to steal some of your food halfway through, but you shooed him away. "Get some of your own, silly!"

"But the plate will serve me too much! I just want a little!" 

"I'll only give you some, if you give me some of your cheesy potatoes!" 

Nightmare gasped dramatically. "Not the cheesy potatoes!! Anything but the cheesy potatoes!" 

You giggled, then said, "Fine, then a kiss." 

"Happily." He then gave you a quick kiss and stole some of your chocolate pudding.

Dinner continued smoothly with some glass clinking and kisses here and there. After everyone was finished, the Nightmare Papyruses removed the dishes and food and placed some finger food and drinks on the table. Dream then stood and proclaimed, "Now the best man and the honorary maid of honor will give their prepared speeches. I being the groom's best man, will go first, if that's ok with Dusk?"

You had chosen Dusk to be your honorary maid of honor. Dusk nodded and Dream cleared his throat nervously, then began his speech. "Ever since me and Nightmare were created, we've been best friends and close brothers. I've always loved and cared for him, I remember that he would always share his favorite books with me and we would laugh and cry together. He was always there for me and even taught himself how to dance so he could teach me."

You nudged Nightmare at this, and he blushed. Dream began to tear up as he continued. "Nightmare was always so sweet and comforting. Even when he was going through hard times, he always turned around to help me when I needed it. I was distraught when I lost him, and now Y/n has brought him back to me." He sniffed and wiped at the tears that now began to pour down his face.

"Over these past months, I've planned with them and Y/n has really brought the best out of my brother. I don't think there's anyone more deserving of Nightmare than her and I'm so happy for both of you!! I wish you both the best of luck in this new chapter of your life and I love you guys!!" He finished with a smile and everyone clapped. You beamed and realized you had shed a few tears.

As people clapped, they also hit their glasses and you and Nightmare kissed. Dream ran over and gave you and Nightmare a hug. "That was really sweet." You told him. 

He smiled and said, "I'm glad you think so." 

After Dream sat down, Dusk stood and said, chuckling, "GUESS IT'S MY TURN." People laughed quietly, then he began his speech.

"I WAS BROUGHT INTO EXISTENCE DUE TO THE CURSE THAT TRAPPED NIGHTMARE AND THE OTHERS IN THIS CASTLE. MY DUTY WAS TO WATCH OVER HIM. AT FIRST, I WAS JUST A SERVANT, BUT HE TREATED ME LIKE A BROTHER AND MADE ME FEEL APPRECIATED. FOR THAT, I THANK HIM DEARLY. ALL WAS WELL ENOUGH UNTIL Y/N CAME. SHE BROUGHT A LIGHT WITH HER THAT LIT UP THE ENTIRE CASTLE. I SAW WITHIN A DAY, NIGHTMARE HAD CHANGED."

Nightmare took your hand as Dusk continued and you wiped at your tears. "SHE TREATED US ALL WITH KINDNESS AND INCLUDED US ALL IN HER ACTIVITIES. THE CASTLE BECAME ALIVE WITH NEW PEOPLE AND I NOTICED THAT EVERYTHING SEEMED BRIGHTER. I REALIZED THAT SHE HAD ALSO CHANGED ME! Y/N IS THE SWEETEST, KINDEST PERSON I'VE EVER MET AND I KNOW SHE AND NIGHTMARE WILL HAVE A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE. I HOPE YOU WILL HAVE MANY YEARS OF PEACE AND HAPPINESS. NEVER CHANGE."

Everyone began to clap and clink their glasses. You and Nightmare kissed, then you and Nightmare hugged Dusk. You gave Dusk a peck on the cheek. "Thank you." You told him. 

He smiled happily, saying, "MY PLEASURE, MY DAWN." 

"Dancin' time!!" Horror said abruptly and, standing up, he took his brother's hand and took him to the dancing floor as music began to play.

Nightmare stood and offered you his hand. You took it and began to dance. You danced with Mr. Smee, Dream, Horror, Horror's brother Scare, Dusk, and Cherry, but mostly Nightmare. Near the end of the night, you and Nightmare stood to the side where people lined up to congratulate you and him. While you were congratulated, Dusk, Cherry, Killer, Dust, Cross, Error, Horror, and Dream disappeared.

When they reappeared half an hour later, you and Nightmare were led to the cake. You giggled at the giant cake and Nightmare handed you a knife. You cut the bottom part with a cute little purple apple on it and Nightmare cut a small part with a golden flower. You lifted the slice of cake and Nightmare opened his mouth. You lifted it and purposefully smeared some frosting on the side of his cheek.

Everyone laughed, then you gave him the cake for real. Nightmare tapped the cake on your nose, leaving a little mark, then gave you a bite. You chewed thoughtfully, then looked at Nightmare wide eyed as the cake changed flavors.

"Oh yeah, it does that." He said, laughing at your expression. People cheered and, again, for the billionth time tonight, clinked their glasses.

You laughed and Nightmare leaned in for a kiss. Instead, you turned and licked the frosting off his cheek. Some laughed, some said 'ew' and others 'aw'ed. As you pulled back, you saw Nightmare's face was a bright shade of purple. You laughed, then he licked the frosting of your nose. You giggled, then kissed him.

Dream walked to you and said excitedly, "It's time to send you off!" 

Everyone gathered and you walked to the garden. A large purple carriage was waiting, pulled by two black stallions. Nightmare handed you your bouquet of purple and gold roses and you walked to the carriage. Upon nearing it, you saw that it was drawn on with washable markers, with things written like, 'Just married!'

Nightmare opened the door and balloons fell out. You laughed. He helped you in, then ran around the carriage to join you on the other side. People cheered and cried and, before the doors closed, you turned and threw the bouquet. Dream caught it and he began laughing and waving at you as you closed the carriage doors.

You and Nightmare waved out the windows and you blew kisses as you rode away from the cheering crowd. After riding for a minute, you turned to meet a beaming Nightmare. You scooted closer and he held you in his arms. 

He kissed you and said , "I love you, my Queen."
