Chapter 8

Dean's P.O.V

I glanced back at Izzy in the backseat, she had already fallen asleep. I smiled at her, and turned to my father who gave me a stern look.

"Dean ... I know you really like Izzy, but you can't drag her into this," his voice broke, "It's too dangerous."

"I know dad ... But Izzy's tough, and smart, a-nd ... A-nd," my voice started shaking, "Mom wouldn't just leave her behind." Dad lost it, he slammed on the breaks, waking up Izzy, and Sammy.

"Don't you ever use Mary as an excuse! Do you understand?!"  I just nodded my head. Dad slowly pulled back onto the road, and kept heading towards Bobby's. I glanced in the rearview mirror, immediately regretting it. Izzy's eyes were wide, and full of fear. I wanted to crawl back there with her and hold her like I did when I found her unconscious. I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to be by her side every second. I jerk my eyes away when I see tears begin to run down Izzy's face. It tore my heart to see Izzy upset. I didn't want her to be afraid of Dad, he ... he can be rough around the edges sometimes ... Screw it! Dad's an asshole. Has been since Mom died. I wish we could take Izzy with us, but even I knew it was too dangerous. I knew Izzy would be safe at Bobby's. Bobby could take care of Izzy, teach her what she wants, or needs to know about our world. Then maybe after a few months she could join us on the road. I look back at Izzy, and see her with her eyes closed, and her head was towards the window. She seemed to be whispering something, but I couldn't make it out. I looked out the windshield, and glanced out into the horizon. I soon felt my eyes getting heavy, and within a few minutes, I fell asleep.

Izzy's P.O.V

I can't believe John yelled at Dean like that. It instantly made me have flashbacks to the night Russell abused me, causing tears to come down my eyes. I wanted Dean to hold me, and tell me everything was going to be okay. I could see Dean's eyes on me in the rear-view mirror, and I seen him look away when the tears started. I wanted to stay with Dean, and Sam ... John ... not so much. But I know they think that it's too dangerous for me. I sigh, and put my head against the window. My eyes close on there own, but I didn't want to go back to sleep, so I softly start whispering, Hold On by Chord Overstreet. After I finish the song, the car slows, and then comes to a stop. I open my eyes to find a old looking house surrounded by a car junkyard. I shook Sam's arm trying to wake him up. He mumbled something that sounded like,

"Go away," so I let him be. John opened the door and allowed me to get out, and stretch my legs. I popped my back, and watched Dean do the same. My body was feeling so much better since the hospital. I could move without hissing in pain, and most of my bruises were faded. I took a deep breath in through my nose, and closed my eyes.

"Izzy, there's someone I want you to meet," John calls snapping me from my trance. I open my eyes to see him standing next to another man who's wearing flannel, and a baseball cap. I approach them both, and the other man smiles.

"You must be the girl Dean likes," the man said with a gruff voice. I simply nod.

"Name's Bobby."

"Izzy," I reply shyly. Bobby smiles again, and takes a swig of his beer that he has in his hand.

"How are those idgits for boys of yours doin?" I giggle at Bobby's comment, causing both men to look at me.

"Their helping their old man kill monsters," John simply replies like that was the normal answer to say. Bobby just nods, and takes another swig.

"Izzy do you have anything else with you?" Bobby asks. I go to say no, but Moe pops into my head.

"What happened to Moe?" I ask.

"Who's Moe?" Bobby asks.

"Her horse." "My horse'"

"We had him stay, with a friend ... or well Sam's friend." John says. And as if on cue, a truck pulls up, pulling a horse trailer behind it. The driver cuts the engine, and the passenger jumps out.

"Rebecca!"

"Zee!!!" I couldn't believe it. Rebecca took care of Moe. I run towards her and hug her tiny-ness.

"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!"

"No problem Zee, after my Mom and I heard what happened, we turned around and loaded Moe up with Dexter." I couldn't help but smile. I turn and run to John, and throw my arms around him. He jumps when I make contact, but relaxes and pats my head.

"Thank you," I say, and pull away.

"No problem kid, but I can't take the credit. It was Dean's idea." I turn to Dean who was leading Moe out of the trailer. I smile even bigger, knowing it was Dean's idea. I run at Dean, and tackle him. He hits the ground hard, but all I can do is laugh at his facial expression.

"Thanks Dean."

"Anytime," he coughs. I lean down and gently press my lips to his. I feel his lips pull into a smirk as he kisses me back. Someone clears their throat, and I look around embarrassed. I stand up, and dust myself off.

"Well," I hear John say, "We better get back on the road. Lots of work to do." My heart falls. I look at Dean who rubs the back of his neck and looks at the ground.

"You're leaving already?"

"Yeah ... Listen Zee, I wish you could come with us," Dean says taking my hand in his, "But it's too dangerous. Bobby will protect you, and he'll teach you whatever you want to know."

"Will I ever see you again?"

"Of course Zee. I'll  visit, call you, hell I'll even send you letters." I giggle at the last part, and throw my arms around Dean's mid section. He hugs me back for a moment then pulls away and gets into the impala. John starts the car, and pulls down the driveway. I grab Moe's lead rope, and jump onto his back. I kick Moe, and take off after the impala. I run Moe all the way down to the end of the driveway, and watch the impala until it disappears from sight.

"Goodbye Dean Winchester."
