Chapter 2: Going Home

Hannah comes back later, and told me Keck wants to see me in her office. I walk quickly to Keck's office not wanting to keep her waiting. I reach her office, and knock on her door.

"Come in Izzy," Keck says.

I open the door, and walk in. Keck sitting at her desk, she's on the phone, with her brown hair pulled back into a bun.

"Sit down," she mouths motioning to a chair in front of her desk.

I sit down and wait for Keck to finish her call. When she hangs up, she looks at me,

"So ... What happened today?"

"Well,  I had just put my breakfast tray up, and going back outside when Hannah called me a cunt," I explain, "I told her that it wasn't nice to talk about herself that way."

Keck motions for me to continue, so I do.

"She then said "excuse me" and I told her to quit bringing herself down, cause it wasn't good for her ego. Then Hannah called me a hoe. So I simply said that at least I was a virgin, and she attacked me." Keck had a smile across her face.

"I don't know if I should scold you, or laugh," Keck says. I smile at her, but soon the smile drops from her face.

"The phone call I received was about you, your mother is coming to get you, she said she misses you too much, and that you need to come home."

I stare at her blankly, I hadn't been at camp as long as the court order instructed. I simply looked at Keck, she must have seen my reaction.

"You'd better go pack your belongings, and say your goodbyes," Keck says standing.

I stand too, and head out of her office. I didn't want to leave yet, I actually liked it here, I learned hand to hand combat, self defense, survival skills, heck it wasn't much of a boot camp.

"Why does mom want me back?" I ask myself, "I'm not suppose to go home for another year."

Since my dad hadn't signed my birth certificate, the judge couldn't send me to my dad. I reach my cabin, and don't talk to anyone. Hannah snickers at me, as I sit on my bunk.

"So ... What's your punishment?" Hannah asks.

I ignore her, and begin making my bunk like any other morning. Hannah then grabs my shoulder, and flings me around,

"Did you not hear me?! Whats your punishment?!" Hannah says through her teeth.

"Take your hand off of me Hannah," I say.

"And what are you gonna do if she doesn't?" Jena sneers.

"Jena you might want to shut your mouth, or you'll mess up your make up, oh ... Wait ... Your not wearing any ... Dang, you really are that ugly," Lela says. Jena stares at Lela, but remains focused on me.

"Hannah," I say again, "Take your hand off my shoulder."

Hannah doesn't move again, so I take her arm, twist it behind her back, kick the back of her knees, and pin her to the floor facedown. Jena goes to attack me, but Lela grabs her arms, and pins her to her bunk.

"Now, you gonna listen next time someone tells you something?" I ask.

Hannah nods furiously, and I let her up. I grab my black duffel bag from under my bed, and start throwing my stuff into it. Lela walks up next to me,

"Your leaving?" I nod my head, tears reaching the brims of my eyes.

I see tears in Lela's eyes as well. I throw the rest of my stuff into my duffel, say goodbye to everyone, except Hannah, and Jena, hug Lela, promise her I'll contact her, and head up to Keck's office again. I knock on Keck's door, and listen for her voice to tell me to enter. She does. I open the door, and see my mother smiling at me great big.

"Oh sweetheart!" My mom says giving me a hug, "I've missed you so much!"

"I've missed you too mom," I say putting on a fake smile.

"Your mothers filled out all the paperwork Izzy, are you ready to leave?" Keck asks. I nod my head, and adjust my bag strap. "Well then ... Your free to leave," Keck says.

I shake Keck's hand, then follow my mother out of Keck's office. I soon see my mom's new truck. The truck itself is a silver Ford F-250.I stare in awe at my mother's new truck. I throw my bag in the bed,and head to the passenger side. I hop into the truck, and shut the door gently not wanting to damage it. She pulls away from camp, and heads home.
"Home," I say in my head. It feels strange saying home, for the past two years my home had been the boot camp. I suddenly get sleepy, and feel my eyes closing, and don't wake up for a couple hours. I open my eyes, when the truck slows down, and see my Mom is pulling into our garage. I stretch, making sure not to accidentally hit mom.

"Have a good nap sweet heart?" She asks.

I nod my head, and she smiles. I open the door, and breathe in the fresh air of the farm. That's right you heard me farm, as in chickens, cows, horses, and goats. I grab my bag, and follow mom into the house.

"Russell were home!" My mom yells sitting her purse on the table.

Russell comes bounding into the kitchen, with a huge smile on his face. Russell, who's in his early 30's stood about 6 foot 3. His black hair was shaggy, and came to his jaw line. His blue, and hazel eyes were very distracting, since I don't know which to look at.

"Hey Izzy!" Russell says to me, then turns to mom, "Hi there beautiful." Before kissing her passionately.

I feel disgust rising in me, so I grab my bag, and head to my room. I head of out of the kitchen, and head down the hallway. My bedrooms at the end of the hall. I open my door, and a wave of relief washes over me. It was exactly like I left it. My queen size bed in the corner, my white dresser across from it. My TV sits to the left of my dresser, and is right next to the door. My desk was covered in post it notes, and drawings I had drawn. My drawings I drew were mainly of the supernatural, demons, vampires, witches, ghosts. My mom called it non sense, that those creatures didn't exist, but I don't believe her. That's why I read up on each monster. Learned were they would hide, their behavior, and how to kill them. I had even learned warding symbols to keep out monsters. I kept various weapons in my room, silver blades, a machete, holy water, holy oil, salt, you name it. Hoping mom hadn't found any, I began to search my hiding places. After I had searched my room, I found only one item missing. Though I didn't panic, the blade that I was missing, was in my duffel bag. I put the blade under my pillow, and decided to go see if mom needed any help with anything. I throw my duffel on my bed, and go to open my door, when someone knocks on the door. I step back, and call

"Who is it?"

"Russell," he calls back. I sigh, but answer

"Come in, its unlocked." Russell opens the door, but doesn't come in.

"Your mother says she needs you," he says.

"I was just about to come, and see if she needed my help with anything, it's not easy running a farm," I answer walking past him.

I find mom in the kitchen chopping up some weird looking vegetable. She smiles when she sees me.

"Great Russell got you," she says. I just smile, and don't say anything.

"I need you to go feed the animals, and make sure their settled in for the night," she says.

I smile, and make my way back to my room to change. I open my closet, pull out an old  t-shirt, then open my dresser, and throw on a pair of ripped jeans, then my boots. I grab my knife, and tuck it securely in the waistline of my jeans, then head to the back door.

"Feeds in the barn!" I hear mom yell.

I strode off to the barn. I had a cycle, chickens, cows, horses, then goats. I open the storage part if the barn, and grab a bucket, and fill it with chicken feed. I strode over to the chicken coop, where the chickens had just started going into their hutch. I throw them their feed, where they go wild, and start clucking loudly. I chuckle, and head to the barn. I open the barn door, and nickers greet me. I walk over to my horse Moe's stall, but don't find him there, instead I see a new white stallion. I look in all the stalls, but Moe isn't any of them.

"Moe!" I yell.

I hear his whinny from outside, and see him in the round pen. Moe's beautiful black, blue, and white coat was caked with mud, and his black, and white mane tangled with burs. I rush to the round pen, and go inside.

"Poor baby," I say stroking Moe's nose, "At least they fed you."

He nips me playfully, and I leave the round pen to go find his halter, and lead rope. I find them hanging in the tack room. I grab them, and head back to Moe. Moe nickers happily when he sees his halter. I climb back in the round pen, and go to put the halter on him, but he won't quit moving.

"Hold still," I snap.

Moe stops but not after looking at me with his blue eyes. I lead him to an empty stall, grabbing a brush on the way. I put him in the stall, and fill up his water bucket. He drinks it eagerly, and nudges my shoulder. I chuckle, and begin to brush the mud off his coat. I get majority of the mud off, and work on his mane. I pull out the burs, and comb out the knots, with the help of leave in conditioner. I decided that I would give Moe a bath the next day. I decide to take my Mom's horse Sophie out to check on the cows instead of Moe. I grab Sophie's lead rope, and go to her stall. I open her stall door, and clip the rope onto the Palomino's halter. I brush her, and put a saddle pad on her back. I then leave to grab her saddle, and bridle. Sophie doesn't toss her head like Moe, so I don't need a martingale. I grab a couple of peppermints if Sophie behaves on the ride. I put the saddle on her, give her a peppermint, then when she's finished, I put her bridle on her. I adjust the stirrups on the saddle, than ride out if the barn towards the field where the cows are. The farm sits on 160 acres, which is 3/4 field, and 1/4 woods. I have Sophie stop in front of gate, I open it, and have Sophie walk through, then latch it behind us. I trot Sophie to the top of the hill, that's in the middle of the field. We reach the top, and I stare in awe as the sun set reaches my view. The sky bright pink, and purple as the sun slips slowly from view. Knowing there not much day light left, I turn Sophie to the woods, and take off. We reach the woods, and I pull Sophie's reins slightly, slowing her down. I see a calf running with its mom, and decide to follow them.
