Chapter 10: Well Fuck

I opened the door, and walked towards my "house". I started to hear footsteps, and walked faster. I stopped but the footsteps continued. A hand is placed on my shoulder. I quickly grab the hand and flip its owner over my head. Dean lands on the ground in front of me.

"Damn," Dean wheezes. His eyes remain closed as he lays there trying to get his breath back.

“Shit, sorry Dean.” I say holding my hand out to him. He accepts it and I help pull him up. I help dust his back off, then stand there awkwardly.

“Why did you follow me?” Dean crosses his arms,

“I wanted to talk to you but you left.”

“I was going home,” I said pointing to the stable.

“You live in a barn?” I laughed,

“No stupid, I live above it.” Dean looked somewhat surprised,

“So you don’t live with Bobby?”

“No, I like to have space when I uh … have people over.” Dean's eyes widened and I began to blush. I turned back to my house again, and went inside. Dean follows as I make my way upstairs, and open the door. Someone grabs me, causing me to let out a scream. The door slams shut behind me. I try to fight off my attacker and finally escape from their grasp, only to discover my attacker is another vamp.

“Bout’ time you showed up,” he growled, “I was beginning to think I would leave empty handed.” He charged me again, heading for my head. I knocked him out of the way, and reached for my machete. The vamp suddenly grabs my hair, holding me back inches from the wall where it hung.

“Dick move douchebag,”  I said through clenched teeth. I quickly thrusted my heel down onto his foot. The vamp yelped and loosened his grip on my hair. It was just enough for me to grab my machete and slice backwards. The vamps body crumbles and I sigh as I look at the blood splatter across my walls. Pounding came from the other side of the door, and I could hear Dean yelling and asking if I was okay. I pick up the vamps head and chuck it out my window. The knocks become louder as I hear Sam and Bobby join Dean on the other side of my door. I sigh and easily drag the body away from the door and go to open it when the door is kicked in making me fall backwards onto my butt. Dean, Bobby, and Sam come rushing in guns in hand, only to find me on the floor with my arms crossed over my chest.

“You idiots couldn’t have waited two more fucking seconds?!” I ask angrily. Sam immediately helps me to my feet.

“Sorry Zee. You weren’t answering, so Dean broke down the door.” I looked angrily at Dean who was frowning down at what was left of the vamps corpse. Bobby puts his hand on my shoulder and smiles slightly before nodding to Sam to grab the body. Together they lift the body and take it outside. I immediately grab a bucket of water and baking soda in effort to get the blood off my floor and walls. Dean grabs a rag and begins helping.

After 15 minutes of scrubbing, my house looked somewhat normal again. I sighed and threw my rag into the bucket. Dean did the same and just looked around my apartment. It wasn’t much. It had a couch, a kitchen with a mini fridge instead of a large one, a bathroom, and my bedroom. Soon an uncomfortable silence fell over us, and I just looked at my feet.

“Soooo,” Dean said trying to break the silence, “How ya been?”

“Okay I guess. I-I’m first in the world.”  Dean tilted his head.

“You’re what?”

“First in the world?” I said again. Dean tilted his head the other way. I giggled a little then explained.

“It means I’m the best barrel racer in the world.” I look down embarrassed.

“Really?” Dean asks, impressed. I simply nodded. I hear his footsteps, and feel him lift up my chin making me look into his eyes.

“I knew you were good Zee but, damn I didn’t know you were that good.” I couldn’t help but blush.
“Isabella! Get down here!” Bobby calls.  I quickly pushed past Dean and rushed downstairs. Bobby and Sam were standing in front of Moe’s stall. I threw open Moe’s stall to find him and Daisy in a pool of blood, both dead. I threw my body on top of Moe’s and started bawling.

“No, no, no! How could they!?” I pet Daisy’s dead body with tears streaming down my face. Sam, and Bobby stood in the doorway of the stall in silence, while Dean squatted down beside me rubbing my back.

“I’m really sorry Zee,” he whispered. I turned and buried myself in Dean’s arms. He placed his head gently on mine, and held me tight, as I sobbed loudly. We stayed that way for a while, until I couldn’t stand to see Moe and Daisy lying there. I looked up at Bobby,

“I-Is there anyway we can bury them?” Bobby’s face became grim. I already knew his answer and could feel my lip trembling.

“We’ll bury them sweetheart,” Dean said from above me, “Even if I have to dig the hole myself.”

“Thanks Dean. That means a lot.” I kissed Dean’s chin then stood up shakily.

“We can wait till tomorrow,” I said, “It’s pretty late.” Everyone nodded. I looked down at Moe and Daisy once more, and went to go find something to cover them with. I found a large blue tarp and covered them both, then left the stall and went upstairs. I grabbed some pjs and went into my bathroom to change. When I finished I walked out and saw Dean standing in front of my couch.

“I’m staying here tonight,” he said. I just nodded. I went and grabbed him a blanket and pillow
