"Up, and attem' ladies!" My drill Sargent yells.

I groan, and throw off my scratchy blanket. I grab my uniform that was folded neatly at the end of my bunk.

"Think you'll survive today Izzy?" A girl named Hannah sneers.

"Yeah, think you survive, and not drown in your boob sweat," I shoot back.

Hannah starts toward me, but my Drill Sargent, Sargent Keck walks in. Hannah freezes in her track, glares at me, then walks back to her bed.

"Today," Keck shouts, "We'll be running."

Nobody groans, we know better. Last time someone did, Keck doubled the exercise.

"We will be running 10 miles, we leave in 2," Keck shouts, and leaves the cabin.

"Ugh, why do we have to do an exercise everyday?" Hannah groans,

"Its worse enough my dad sent me here." A girl named Claire glared at her,

"At least your not here on a court order." I held back a chuckle, as I walked outside the cabin. Keck was waiting at the dining hall, when I walked in.

"Right on time Lopez."

"Thank you ma'am," I say.

After a few seconds, the rest of my bunk files in. We begin the run, me leading.

"I could run away from them," I say in my head.

"No," the smart part of my head says,
"Do you want to disappoint mom even more than you already have?"

I focus on my running, and push myself to the top of the hill. Keck came last, rounding up the last of my cabin.

"Good job ladies, let's head back," Keck says.

Hannah mumbles under her breath, and begins jogging back. I want to be the last one this time, mainly so I can just pass them all on the way back.

~ Time skip ~

We reach the cabin, and are told to get ready for breakfast. I look around my cabin and see the Hanson twins arm wrestling each other, Hannah and her "friend" Jena were doing each others hair, A new girl who had arrived yesterday who's name I didn't know, was sitting on her bunk braiding some sort of bracelet, Lela, my so called "friend" was reading a book she had smuggled into camp, and Claire was cleaning her prized hunting knife. We were a weird group, all labeled "bad kids". I had never told anyone except Lela why I was here.

"Its not that bad," she insisted.

"Yeah right," I had told her.

"Look at it this way," she said, "its not as bad as Jena."

I had laughed at that one. Jena had a very short temper, and was sent here, because she had lost her anger, and started choking out a dude just because he said that she looked nice, it was her first offence, so they just gave her OSS. A little later in the month, she lost her anger again, and tried to stab a teacher with her pencil. I shook my head of the thought, and changed out of my sweaty clothes. Lela smiled when I sat down beside her, Lela like me, had run away from home only to be found an hour later,

"Only a few hundred days to go," she said.

I chuckled, and begin French braiding my long wavy black hair, as Lela read the chapter of the book aloud.

"Ya know what?" I ask Lela.

"What?"

"I think Hannah, and Jena would make a good couple," I say.

Lela burst into laughter making the whole cabin look are way. Penny, the older Hanson twin,

"Only by three minutes," her younger sister Michelle had told me, walked toward me. I wasn't scared if her, the only girl I was a little afraid of, was Claire.

"Hey shorty wanna arm wrestle?" Penny said to me, her dark brown eyes looking for a new target.

Penny was about a three inches taller than me, and had short choppy blonde hair, with bright red tips.

"Sure," I say casually.

"Go easy on her Penny, you don't want to break her weak little arm," Hannah sneered.

Jena shot me a dirty look, which I caught and laughed at. Claire had put away her knife, and now stood beside the small table at the end of Penny's bunk. I sat down at the table, and put my arm on the table.  Penny sat down, and put her arm next to mine. We locked hands, and were ready to start the match. Michelle put her hand on top, said go, and the match began. Penny tried desperately to move my arm, but I just froze my arm. After a minute or so, I slowly move Penny's arm towards the table, and win.

"Yeah, way to go Z!" Lela shouts. Hannah moans in disgust, as does Jena.

Michelle insist that I arm wrestle her too. Michelle looks just like Penny, but the tips of her choppy blonde hair is dyed electric green. I beat her too. Then Jena challenges me, then Hanna, then Lela, and sure enough Claire. Claire was STRONG! I barely beat her, she had me almost touching, but somehow I managed to push my Claire's hand down on the table. The new girl, didn't want to compete, and just sat quietly, still braiding her bracelet. I hear the breakfast bell, and head to the dining hall. I grab a tray and pile it with food, which isn't that bad. Today its eggs, bacon, a slice of bread, juice/milk, and a piece of fruit. I sit down at a table outside, while everyone enjoys the cool air conditioning, I enjoy the cool breeze blowing through the trees. Lela doesn't like the outdoors, leaving me by myself. I try to make a breakfast pizza, sorta thing with my food, and relax. I eat my food quickly, shoving my apple into my pocket, and head to put my tray up. I open the dining hall door, and put my tray on kitchen ledge.

"Morning ladies, thanks for breakfast!" I say.

They smile at me as I walk away from the window, and towards the door that leads outside. I walk by Hannah who sneers,

"Cunt." I stop dead in my tracks,

"I wouldn't talk about yourself like that," I reply.

"Ummm excuse me?" Hannah says.

"I told you to quit bringing yourself down, not good for ego," I say. Hannah was getting pissed now, her face turning red.

"You little hoe," Hannah sneers.

"Your calling me a hoe?! Honey at least I'm a virgin," I say turning my back to her.

Hannah loses it then, and tackles me. We roll around mainly, one if us trying to get on top of the other. I finally pin Hannah to the floor, when Keck rushes into the dining hall.

"What happened?!" She demands.

"Hannah attacked Izzy," the new girl says.

Keck looks at me, then to Claire who nods. Keck motions for me to stand, so I do, and step away from Hannah.

"Hannah, let's go!" Keck demands. Hannah's face turns pale, but she reluctantly follows Keck out of the dining hall.
