His Past

Abby's POV

"Sir, I'm sorry-" His fist connected to Charles' face, causing him to crumble to the floor.

"You had one fucking job! And that was to keep her here! But you were so stupid and she almost got away!" Fredrick's voice echoed through the building. He repeatedly pointed his finger to Charles, who now has a bleeding face.

"Do you want me to end this?" He raised a gun and pointed it on Charles' forehead.

"No Stop!" I staggered closer to Charles and pushed the gun away from him.

"Please, it wasn't his fault!" I gathered enough courage to meet him in the eye. The gun was now pointed on me. I let out a quivering breathe, glancing to Charles' brother who was staring at us quietly.

" And you... You ruined everything! You little bitch!" My cheek stinging in pain, I whimpered from the hard impact of his hand.

"That's too much Sir!" Charles stood up and blocked Fredrick from getting closer to me.

"You don't tell me what to do!" He shouted and pushed Charles away. "This little bitch thinks she's safe because my son's gonna rescue her" He mimicked my voice while waving the gun in his hand.

"You're crazy" I backfired at him. This seemed to make him angrier as he raised the gun to my forehead.

"I'm crazy? Maybe you! You're crazy enough to think that you could reach my sons level. Your nothing compared to him. I know women like you, you only want our money-"

"No! I don't!" I turned to him, disgusted by his way of thinking.

"I'm not in it for the money. I love your son and I know that he does too-"

"Love? You belive in that? My son has been torn apart because of this love your talking about" He emphasized the word torn as he spoke.

"What?"

"Oh. He didn't tell you" He chuckled for a moment before kneeling down to meet my gaze.

"He didn't mention Vivica when you were together?" He pulled out a chair and sat down. Keeping the gun in his pocket.

When I didn't answer, He took this a sign to move on.

"Vivica...she was like you, claiming her love to Dave. She was a sweetheart to us. Smart and Beautiful.   But what we didn't know was that she was only in it for the money. She asked my son for money because her sister needed it for surgery. Dave gave her roughly 2 million dollars. And after that, she just left" He finished before I saw his hand gripping the side of his chair.

"Sir, I'm sorry that happen-"

"Dave was broken! After that, he always came home late. Drunk and confused. Telling himself that he was a fool, he even told us that it would be best if he just died. We tried to tell him that there were more girls out there, but he was too...in love with her" He whispered the last part. " And from then on, he never had any interest in girls. If he did, it was just either a fling or a one night stand... We never heard anything from Vivica.
And she was the last lady that Dave was ever serious about" He stood up and walked to the door, stopping in front of it. I could hear his soft sobs in this small room.

I turned to Charles, he was on the ground leaning against the wall. His face looked awful, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth and a purple bruise on his eye.

Chase wasn't moving, literally he was still in the same place as before. Only this time he was staring at me.

I focused back to Fredrick. He was still crying and I wanted to comfort him. Even though he kidnapped me, I guess I understand now to why he did this.

"Sir, I won't do that to your son. I swear I have the best intentions with him. I promise I will never hurt him" He finally turned to me. But instead of pity that I saw, anger was written all over his face.

And all of a sudden, he brought out the gun and shot me.

Dave's POV

I heard it. I heard the gunshot as I got out of the car.

I ran to the door, colliding my body with it. Hard enough to break and for me to get inside.

I gripped the gun so tight that I'm afraid that it might fire at anytime.

Someone pushed me and I was forced unto the ground. A guy about 6 inches tall. He raised his fist, but I dodged it easily and it landed on the wall.

"Fuck" He muttered when I pointed the gun to him.

"Where's Abby?"

"I don't know who that is-"

"Fucking tell me or I'll shoot you" I moved the gun as I spoke. He raised his hands as a sign of surrendering with eyes wide.

"She's 10 doors from here"

I ran past him, but before I could get to my destination, I turned to him with a death glare. " Don't even think about following me." And with that I ran again.

I was afraid. Afraid of losing her. My father has completely gone crazy. Why would he do this? I know that she's not like Vivica. Fuck, what if he told her?

I spotted the room and kicked the door open. There was no light on so I had to bring out my flashlight.

But then the lights turned on, my heart dropped. Seeing Abby with blood on her clothes, limp on the ground.

Abby's POV

It was all too fast. I shut my eyes and waited for the bullet to dig in my chest. But I found myself crashing to the ground with Charles on top of me.

He took a bullet for me.

"Charles! Oh my god! Are you hurt?!" I looked up to see him breathing heavily.

"I'm fine. We have to get out of here right now-"

"You just can't take hint now do you?" Fredrick kicked Charles in the stomach, causing him to roll off of me and crouch down.

Fredrick then pointed the gun on me, But Charles was quick enough to grab his hand and the bullet went flying to the ceiling.

They kept throwing punches at each other. Fredrick gained an upper hand and slammed the gun on Charles' head. He groaned but punched him on the face. Fredrick flew back but pulled the trigger on the gun. Hitting Charles on the shoulder.

Another bullet flew and I had no time to react. I didn't relaize that the gun was pointed to me. Charles pushed Fredrick right on time. Instead of the gun hitting my chest, it landed on my stomach.

It was still painful. Unbearable even. It hurts even breathing.

Fredrick's head slammed on something hard which knocked him out.

Charles was now leaning against the wall. Unconscious with his hand placed on top of his wound.

I grunted and rested myself on the cold floor. Feeling my own blood soaking my clothes.

It wasn't until I heard loud footsteps across the hall, and shocked brown eyes met my pale blue ones.

Dave's POV

"Abby!" I kneeled in closer to her, cradling her cold body in my arms. She weakly opened her eyes and smiled at me.

"Dave, i'm so glad you're here" She croaked out, stroking my cheek with her own blood painted on her hand.

"Yes, I'm here. Come on we have to take you to the hospital."

"Wait" She whispered. " I need you to tell me something"

"Please, that can wait Abby"

"No." She gripped on my arm. I hesitated, looking straight to her eyes. She looked desperate, hurt, and seeing her like this made me realize that she needs to learn the truth.

"Okay...What is it?"

"Is it true? About Vivica?" She gripped to my shoulder. Pulling herself up but failing at her weakness.

"Yes. She did hurt me. I lost her. But please, I don't want to lose you too." She wasn't looking, but I could see that she was losing so much blood.

"Please, we have to go" I repeated. I lifted her up and dialed 911.

"911 what's your emergency?"

"Shooting has taken place at my location. Please send an ambulance immedietly."

"Alright Sir. The Ambalance is on its way, Your location would be tracked down using this number."

"Thank you. And please hurry" I ended the call and placed Abby on a couch. I took off my shirt and pressed it down to her wound.

She hissed in pain. I softened my hold to keep her from groaning.

"Dave? Is that you?" I turned on my back and saw a man leaning against the wall. He was beaten up badly. He had blood dripping from his face.

I turned to the other corner and saw my dad. He was on the floor with his eyes closed. Knocked out cold I guess.

I turned my attention to the guy. I didn't notice that he had a gunshot wound on his shoulder. Abby opened her eyes and looked back at the guy.

"Charles? Are you alright?" She huffed out and shifted in her position.

"There's no time. Please, this building is about to explode. Chase activated the timer right after Fredrick shot us."

"What?" I backfired.

"You have to go. There's only five minutes on that timer. If you don't go now you'll die"

"What about you? You can't die. You risked a bullet for me." Abby said.

"I can still walk. Besides it's just my shoulder. And I'll carry Fredrick on the way" He groaned as he stood. He walked over to my father and carried him with his good shoulder.

I lifted Abby up and hurried to thee door. Charles was behind me so I proceeded to the hallway.

"We fucking made it. Don't you think--Charles?" Where is he? He was right behind me when we sprinted for the exit.

"Abby. I'm going to get Charles. Stay here, alright?"

"What if the bomb's timer runs out? What if you can't make it?" Her eyes glimmered, tears forming in them. I hated to see her like this.

"Abby...He saved you. And I owe him a great debt" She cupped my cheeks and our foreheads met. I pulled back the tears that were threatening to spill.

"But I can't...lose you" My cheeks were wet from her tears. I planted my lips on her soft ones and lingered my lips on them one last time.

"And I love you... I love you so much Abby...don't forget that" And with that, I left her and entered inside the building.
