Everyone didn't know what to do.
Some kids screamed, and some adults too, but I didn't.
I was just in total shock. I didn't know what to do.
All of a sudden I saw the light of a phone flashlight.
"David!" I heard Victoria say, not knowing what to do.
I walked back to my room, feeling each one of the doors, and counting them until I could recognized mine.
I walked in and felt around for my phone on my bed.
When I finally found it, I saw I had a text.
It was from Hadley.
"Meet me at football fields ASAP. Emergency." It read.
I shined my phone flashlight towards my closet, and opened it.
Then I looked around for my gold knee-length pea coat.
I then put the coat on and shined my flashlight into the hallway.
I shut it off, just so no one would see me. As I started to walk down the hall, something ran into me.
It was Cruz.
"Dammit Cruz, you almost gave me a heart attack!" I said, trying to catch my breath from being scared half to death by the 13 hear old.
He just laughed at me.
I started to sneak back away.
"Going to meet Hadley?" Cruz asked.
I turned around and looked at him.
"How'd you know?" I asked.
"I know everything." Cruz said, smirking.
"You're a smart kid." I said. "Now don't tell anybody!"
"Won't." He said, as he continued to walk away.
That kid did know everything... But I had to go meet Hadley.
And it must be important.
So I snuck down the stairs, and walked through the crowd to the door.
I tried to rush by everyone so nobody would see me.
I got to the back door and opened it. Then I ran out to the football fields.
She was standing out there. Lonely. Sad.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
I hugged her.
"I'm going to miss you. So so much Phoebs!" She said, a tear started to stream down her cheek.
"Oh Hads, I promise I will visit!" I said, wiping the tear from her face.
"But you won't be here. It won't be the same." She sniffled.
"It wont, but we will still be friends." I said, smiling.
"Ugh, but you won't be here!" She said, wiping away another one of her tears from her face.
"But still." I said, smiling again. "Now c'mon, the parties in there!" I said, pulling her towards the house.
By the time we got back in, the lights were back on.
And finally, we were able to throw my goodbye party.
