Β³Β³to leave

things have calmed down between the group, though they were all separated.

y/n was currently beside wu-jin, her head on his shoulder as his arm held her waist. the two sat on the floor, leaning against the balcony walls. as wu-jin kept his arm around her, y/n was checking the rifles ammos.

she was glad that they were still somewhat full, as she heard the loud gun shots that occurred earlier. she then continued to cock the guns back and forth, somewhat annoying the boy beside her.Β

wu-jin was glad that he finally grew up the courage to confess to her. maybe for a couple months? one or two years? maybe since they first started knowing each other? that's how long he may have started crushing on her. he never really kept track, as this girl right beside him always made him soft.

except, for maybe when she's doing something dangerous, or dumb, which then leads to something dangerous.

"y/n, your going to accidentally shoot someone if you keep doing that to the gun." wu-jin told her, turning his head towards the girl as he rested it on his hand, which leant on his knee.Β

y/n turned her head to him, as one of the guns was pointed towards the sky. "am not! you know i have gun experience, why would i do something like that?"

wu-jin blinked his tired eyes at her. "you've never trained with this type of gun before and you're not a fast learner. you need to train to do stuff before you actually get the hang of it."

the girl stared at him, knowing he was right. she didn't care though. "noooo..." she lied, leaving one gun beside her whilst the her other free hand held the gun pointing the sky. "this is very similar to the rifles i've used before. so i'll have you know that i can actually--"

loud gun shots rang through the sky. everyone on the rooftop jumped, startled by the sudden shots. y/n widened her eyes, seeing that she had just pulled the trigger. righttt, this gun's trigger positioning was different.Β

she then turned her head back to wu-jin, who was deadpanning at her. "i can explain-"

a thud then fell in front of them, catching both their attentions. y/n's already widened eyes grew wider. she then snapped her head back to wu-jin, who seemed shock.Β

"okay, wu-jin, my beloved, please don't take my guns-"

"you just shot a bird!" the boy exclaimed, pointing at the limp bird before them.

"it was an accident!"

"but you still did it- give me the guns."

y/n then grabbed both the guns, hugging them close to her body. "no! these babies are my source joy-"

"you stole them off of some soldiers, give me the guns!" the boy exclaimed again, trying to reach for the guns. y/n dodged his hands, beginning to move on her feet as her eyes landed on someone.

"nam-ra! help me! wu-jin's trying to steal my guns!" the girl exclaimed, running towards her.

"don't listen to her, nam-ra! she's going to accidentally kill one of us if she keeps holding it!" wu-jin yelled, catching up.

as y/n passed nam-ra, a strong arm grabbed a hold of her waist, stopping her from her steps. she somewhat bent forward, the guns on her arms almost slipping out of her grip. she turned her head, seeing nam-ra holding her.

"eh? i thought you were on my side! let me go!" y/n tried to get out of the girl's grip, but she was strong, so it was hard.

unfortunately, nam-ra's hold was too strong, as by the time y/n had almost gotten out, wu-jin had already appeared before her, and snatched the guns away whilst she wasn't paying attention.Β

"ah! nooooo!!! wu-jin i thought you loved me?!! give me back my guns!" y/n now looked like a child who was being restricted from grabbing the toy she wanted, as her arms were outstretched, her upper half bent forward whilst the other half was held down by nam-ra. she tried to push her arms off "let me go or i'll shoot you with those guns! naGH!"

wu-jin stood next to su-hyeok, carefully handing him a gun. "she's going to kill the both of us, maybe even nam-ra, when she manages to take hold of these."

wu-jin looked at the guy beside him. "let's just make sure she doesn't get ahold of them then..."

y/n kind of sounded like a snarling zombie as she tried to get off of nam-ra, until a loud thunderclap struck. y/n fell forward, as nam-rad ha fallen to the floor and reach for her ears. y/n twitched her neck, grunting as she winced visibly from the stinging in her ears.Β

she was now on her knees, palms on the floor as another thunder struck. the pain was sudden at first, as it felt like her breath was just knocked out of her chest. she now leant her forearms on the floor, head resting on them as she tried to catch her breath. the ache then slowly became bearable, just a little bit startling at first.

a hand rested on her back and shoulders, as she could hear wu-jin's voice beside her, asking what was happening. then, she could feel droplets of water make contact with her exposed skin, causing her to slowly bring her head up. she then looked up, feeling droplets of rain fall onto her face.

she then looked to wu-jin, as if forgetting the whole thing that just occurred earlier, smiling at him. "it's raining."

sure, they enjoyed being in the rain, glad that they were able to wash off. y/n found it weird that the others had washed with their jackets and sweaters on, but let them be either way. dae-su and wu-jin seemed to have had fun on the floor, as they had lied down, body spread as they reminisced the feeling of the water hitting them.

it was a fun experience, but it also hurt, as every time the thunder struck she would feel a throbbing pain enter her ears. it probably couldn't compare to nam-ra's though. the girl was on the floor, trying to cover her ears as she complained that it hurt.

she had given nam-ra the thick jacket that she was wearing, letting her muffle her ears with them. nam-ra declined, but y/n insisted, saying that it would help. and it did. it muffled the thunderclaps slightly, and sorta decreased the pain for the girl.Β

she then walked away from them, wandering as usual. her feet followed the puddles that were forming on the floor, splashing and jumping on them until she accidentally bumped into cheong-san. "oh, sorry cheong-san."

"no one's coming to save us. you were thinking that earlier. that's why you took the guns from them." cheong-san started.

y/n pursed her lips, before nodding. "yeah, why?"

"you know how zombies follow us if they hear us?" y/n nodded at his question. "maybe, if we move every time the thunder struck, they won't be able to."

she nodded again, eyes gleaming slightly as she caught onto his plan. "are you planning for us to leave?"

it was his turn to nod. "if we take the back door of the auditorium to the tennis courts, and then go right through the english centre, we can get to the mountains."

y/n thought about it. it was actually a pretty good plan. it made sense and would surely work. she then looked at the everyone else, eyes moving around. they should be able to handle this, right?Β

everyone was now gather underneath a shade that the guys had managed to put up together.Β

y/n stood behind wu-jin, glaring at the back of his head. he and su-hyeok still held onto her guns securely, and she was getting quite restless. she could tackle military soldiers for them, and she could surely do it to mere high school students as well. the only thing is, these two high school students would just steal back from her, as one new her well, and the other was good in fighting.

a hand then wiped itself on her face, snapping her out of her mind. "stop glaring at your boy friend. you might kill him."

"but he took my guns dae-su!" y/n whined.

"and you took my snicker bar last term, you don't see me complaining, do you?" the boy pointed out, grabbing a small snack from their snack bag, that still had quite a few snacks in it.Β

y/n nonchalantly blinked at him. "that's because i bought you more after school."

"oh. that's right." dae-su thought. he then shrugged, handing the girl sachet of tiny cookies. "here, cookies make you happy, right?"

y/n wordlessly narrowed her eyes at him, before taking the packet of cookies. the two munched on a packet of snacks, whilst the others conversed on the plan to escape.

a few of the others were scared on leaving, as they didn't know what would happen if the zombies caught up to them. cheong-san then walked before everyone. "if something like that happens, then i'll scream and distract the zombies. that way none of you will get hurt, okay?"

"i can just kill those zombies if wu-jin and su-hyeok gave me the guns back..." y/n muttered to herself, but the boy standing beside her had heard it, sighing as he patted her shoulder lightly.

"don't say that." su-hyeok stood up, looking at cheong-san. "we're all going to make it out tonight."

"still, if anyone were to die tonight, it'll be me."Β

"you guys always act so heroic, it's kind inspiring." y/n commented, munching on the cookies. "maybe, if two idiots decided to give me the guns back, then no one will be dying tonight!"

"you're not getting these back anytime soon, y/n." wu-jin finalised, looking back forward to cheong-san. "and wear a jacket. you'll get cold."

"i'll wear a jacket once you give me the guns-"

"y/n. all of the scents came at once for you as well, right? because of the rain?" nam-ra cut her off, looking at the girl.

y/n stopped what she was saying, standing up straight, then nodding. she tossed another small cookie in her mouth. "yeah. it smells weird. like a wet dog. and that odd damp smell. it's gross."

"the rain is loud as well." nam-ra added, y/n nodding. "i'm sure that the zombies senses are also dulled."

"if that's what the half-bies say then it should be reliable." dae-su lazily added.Β

"what's a half-bie?" su-hyeok asked.

"it's a half zom..." dae-su trailed off, realising what he was saying. he awkwardly looked at nam-ra and y.n, before completely changing his definition. "it's someone you can rely on."

y/n scoffed at this, kicking the back of his knee. dae-su's joint bent, his footing unstable as a hand went to grab his leg.Β

"you guys ready? let's go." dae-su stood back up straight, looking at everyone. "nam-ra and y/n are strong, so they'll keep up. let's take their word and go."

"i'm not strong right now." nam-ra announced, looking at her hands.Β

"why not?" ji-min asked.

"i don't know..."Β

ji-min then looked back forward, then up at cheong-san as she was sitting down. "i don't think some of us will be able to keep up."

"some of will fall behind, so we'll have to pair up and hold hands." cheong-san instructed. "for protection."

dae-su nodded. "okay!" he exclaimed in english.Β

wu-jin stood up. "y/n, ya wanna be my part-"

"are you going to give me the guns back?" y/n asked hopefully, cutting him off. wu-jin shook his head. "please! i promise i won't shoot!"

"yes, you will. you know that." wu-jin deadpanned at her.Β

y/n frowned, annoyed. she turned away from wu-jin. "okay then, dae-su! you're my partner!"Β

said boy was confused. "huh? but i thought you would go with wu-jin?"

"no. i'm mad at him. he doesn't want to return the guns." y/n grumbled, crossing her arms.

the bigger boy deadpanned at her. "we just had a chat about that-"

"your pep talk was shit. don't give me another one."Β

dae-su was too stunned to speak. he looked at wu-jin, who just raised his brows tiredly as if saying "she's not getting the guns. good luck, brother", then walking towards joon-yeong. he then looked at y/n, who was holding her hands out in the rain in a cup position, gathering rain, dropping it, then cupping it again and repeating the process.

"okay then, let's go." cheong-san announced, holding hands with on-jo. everyone nodded, and as he was about to open the door, y/n yelled.

"wait! i need to get my knife!"
