⁴⁷you made it

four, three months? is that how long it had been? since martial law was placed?

and maybe, more than five months since the outbreak had started.

well, it doesn't matter too much anymore.

the zombie apocalypse had been controlled, those who had completely turned had died - either from the bomb, or the guns of soldiers. citizens who were still human were safe and sound, alive as they stayed in quarantine inside the campsite.

everyone who was safe and inside the camp site, was free to leave their cells and was able to move around camp site without any restrictions.

holding her box of items, as well as se-bin's hand, y/n and the little girl was walking out onto the courtyard, as they were finally free of quarantine.

during the past four months, the two girls had gotten along with each other. y/n would occasionally head into her uncle's cell, as she got permission to do so, and would entertain the young girl.

maybe it was because of how se-bin was still really young, and y/n had the mentality of a five-year-old, it didn't change anything, as they got along really well. y/n also grew fond of the baby, seeing as it reminded her of her friend.

"are you excited, se-bin?" y/n asked with a grin, looking down at the kid. "we can finally get out of those boring cells!"

"it doesn't really change much, y/n unnie." the girl looked up at her. "you would always sneak the both of us out either way."

"is that why you would suddenly go missing at random times? you're sneaking out?" wu-jin, who managed to hear the young girl's comment, asked, walking up and standing on the other side of se-bin. "hi se-bin."

"hi wu-jin oppa." the girl turned her head, smiling up at him.

"ehhh?? what are you on about???" the girl lied, pretending to not know what they were talking about. "i never sneak out!"

"yes you do. we snuck out the other night-"

"oh look! there's uncle jae-ik! go give him your stuff se-bin!" the girl immediately cut her off, letting go of the gril's hand as she pointed at her uncle. y/n looked down at se-bin, winking at her.

narrowing her eyes at y/n, the girl grinned and nodded, running towards the man. the two teenagers watched as the young girl found her way to jae-ik, handing him her stuff, despite the fact that his hands were already full.

"you did that so that i wouldn't ask her anymore questions, didn't you?" wu-jin laughed, caging his left arm around her waist as the other held his box.

the girl looked at him, grinning. "maybe~ what are you going to do about it?"

"oh i don't know, maybe..." he then pulled her in closer to him, connecting their lips together. sure they were in the middle of a hallway, but it didn't really matter to them. there was no one here either way.

smiling against his lips, y/n placed her free hand on his shoulder, just so she doesn't lose balance.

"stop making out in the middle of the fucking hallway! that's nasty!" they heard a voice exclaim. pulling away, they both turned to see joon-yeong and dae-su standing there snickering, as mi-jin's figure could be seen running away from them.

laughing along with the other two boys, the couple face their friends. "hey guys."

"if we somehow manage to get a tent with them, i'm leaving." dae-su mumbled, joon-yeong nodding his head as they began to walk away.

"hey! we're not that bad!" wu-jin exclaimed.

"i know. but if you guys make out constantly, i'm filing a report." the taller guy stated.

y/n scoffed, hand-in-hand with wu-jin as they walked behind the two. "you're just mad that you're still single."

"yeah, what happened to you becoming my brother-in-law?" wu-jin joined in, grinning.

"ha-ri kept on saying no, and hyo-ryung kept on pushing away his attempts to 'woo' her." joon-yeong added.

dae-su turned his head in shock. "i thought you were on my side! how dare you betray me!"

as the other two behind them laughed, joon-yeong shrugged. "dunno. it was funny."

"why you-"

"ya think they're going to notice that they're going the wrong way?" wu-jin asked y/n, their laughter dying down as they watched their two friends walking ahead, the wrong direction towards the tents.

y/n shrugged. "it's their fault for disturbing us."

scoffing, the boy smirked at her. "since when were you so into this sorta stuff?"

she narrowed her eyes at him. "you influenced me. shut up."

he then began to laugh at her reaction, not noticing that she began to walk away from him. "oi! wait up!"

"no!"

"y/n-"

"i thought it was only us three who were supposed to go?" on-jo looked at cheong-san.

they were all now at the other side of the wall, walking down the path. cheong-san darted his head to su-hyeok, who widened his eyes before turning his head to dae-su."i thought i told you not to tell anyone?!"

the boy widened his eyes, slowly walking to joon-yeong. "i thought it was only supposed to be between us."

joon-yeong blinked at him. "wanted to tell wu-jin."

wu-jin scoffed lightly. "y/n was being persistent."

the girl shrugged. "ha-ri was going to snitch on me to my uncle."

the girl quirked her brow lightly, not really caring. she then pointed her thumb at mi-jin. "she was threatening to tell the cops if we didn't take her."

mi-jin exhaled out a puff of smoke. "they won't give me special admission for survivng a zombie attack!"

"how is that even related?" dae-su looked at her. "we'll get arrested if we get caught."

"speak for yourself. i'm being sent to seoul if i get caught..."

joon-yeong quirked a brow. "isn't that a good thing?"

y/n shook her head. "nop. i don't wanna go there cause my dad's going to kill me."

"does he hate you that much?" on-jo asked.

"no. he just doesn't know what the word neglect means and thinks that everything is okay between us. i'm just going to get a fucking earful and privileges taken away."

"oh..."

mi-jin handed the cigar in front of y/n's face, as if asking if she wanted to take a hit. the girl shook her head, causing mi-jin to shrug. "oh well. might as well go to jail if i can't go to college."

"hey guys." ha-ri called out, as they were all now standing on a ledge on top of the hill. she pointed down towards where their school was situated. "i can see a light."

everyone turned to what the girl what was pointing at, seeing an orange dot of light down below, right on top of their school roof top.

"huh. i'm guessing he really is dead." y/n mumbled.

"what are you talking about?" mi-jin asked. y/n's torch pointed towards the back of the construction building, directly pointing at a burnt figure on the floor.

"gwi-nam won't be coming back to life now." the girl stated in a sing-song tone, "that's too sad. he was fun fighting. when he turned into a hambie at least. normal human him was a pussy."

"is that how he knew you? i remember him knowing your name, when we first met him in the principal's office, he knew your name." cheong-san asked, standing beside her as the two looked at gwi-nam's burnt figure.

she looked at cheong-san, blinking at him as she tried to remember what he was talking about. "oh, right. i remember that now. i used to beat him and his friend's asses before the apocalypse, cause they'd bother me."

wu-jin widened his eyes. "eh? why didn't you tell me about this?"

she shrugged. "there wasn't really anything to tell. fighting them was boring cause it only took one punch and they'd be running away."

"yeah! that's my girl! go y/n!" mi-jin exclaimed, patting the girl's back and then placing her arms around her shoulders. "you're so hot y/n. it's too bad you're with mini jang."

"hey! what's that supposed to mean?! stop trying to steal my girlfriend woman!" the male jang exclaimed, grabbing the girl from mi-jin's hold.

"aRgH-- hey! don't grab me like that you fucking sicko-"

"that's enough you two." ha-ri grabbed the two by their ears, dragging them with her as she began to walk towards the building. "we don't you screaming at each other and this time at night."

♨

"wow. this place looks like shit." mi-jin muttered, taking in the sight of the place.

she was right. everything was in ruins. burnt to ashes, to a crisp, or just had burn marks on it. items were scattered everywhere, and it smelt like a rotting corpse.Β  y/n hummed. "to think that the explosion happened right in front of the building.. the foundation must be that well-built if it's still standing."

they were now walking up the stairs that led to the rooftop. holding wu-jin's hand, y/n entered through the door last, as the both of them followed behind the others. as of on-jo's theory, they expected to see nam-ra there. however, all there was was a crackling firepit, with no one there.

"so, who do you think?" hyo-ryung asked. standing around the fire-pit, they were now trying to figure out who would've left the flame there. well, at least the others were. y/n was doing what she usually did. wander around.

she listened in on their conversation, as she was walking around the rooftop, looking for nothing in particular. snow fell down from the sky, cascading down her figure. her hands kept itself warm inside her pockets, as she hummed a small tune.Β

lookingΒ  down on the floor, she noticed a bunch of wooden and metal rods scrambled together, bent and sharpened in some sort of way. "hey... i remember that..." it was the weapons that they were supposed to use when they were up here. they ended up not using all of them, as it was too much and they didn't know how to wield a weapon either way.

as she was about to pick up one of the sticks, she heard a shuffling of steps behind her. turning her head towards the source, her eyes widened at the person standing there.Β

"you made it."
