Sam lay in her bed when her eyes snapped open. Seconds later her door opened and Sam's mom poked her head inside. Sam closed her eyes and rolled over to the other side of the bed.

"Sam, you need to go to school" Sam hid her head under her pillow.

"My head's pounding" She groaned. Sam's mom let out a sigh.

"Alright, one more day but then you're going back to school" Sam smirked inside her pillow. Her mom closed the door and left. Slowly Sam tugged herself out of her covers and sat up. After stretching her sore neck she stood up and headed towards the bathroom.

Sam stepped back into the bedroom half an hour later, looking fresh and clean. She changed into a skinny, tank top and a jacked and was now in the process of combing her hair. She was just so full of energy today. She was a werewolf and her brother was as well but he didn't know she was one and then there was another werewolf who was going to help her control 'it'. What happened to her life?

Sam shook herself out of her thoughts and exited the room. She tiptoed down the stairs and soundly pulled on her shoes before she was gone.

The cold morning air hit her face like a brick but Sam smiled anyway. Her body was restless. Without waiting a moment she started running. Running quickly turned into sprinting before she had even entered the forest. Her senses towered above her, every noise, every smell. Much to fast Sam reached Derek's place.

At least according to the internet.

Breathing heavily Sam walked up the steps and knocked. When her breathing finally returned the door opened, revealing Derek. He stared at her with an bewildered look before he reached over and took a leaf out of her hair.

"You're early" He grumbled and walked back inside. Sam followed him in and closed the door behind her.

"Yes, well I just couldn't wait to start. I just want to know what I can do and how I can improve things"

"Let's start then"

Punch

Punch

Crash

Sam grunted, falling down to her knees.

"Dead. Again" Derek ordered. Sam winched but stood up and got ready again. Derek drew a punch and Sam avoided it narrowly. "You are small, use that in your advantage" Sam nodded and dodged another punch. What she hadn't expected was Derek's foot to shook out and kick her in the ribs. The momentum was big enough to send her flying against the wall, leaving a huge dent. Sam's eyes crunched shut in pain.

Derek sighed and watched her. What did surprise him was that she got up again. Her eyes focused themselves in him and they flashed yellow. Derek smirked and drew another punch. Sam dodged it and drew a punch of herself. More of a slash. Her hands made contact with Derek's cheek and Sam froze, her eyes going back to their original blue.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry" she yelped. She reached out to touch the marks when Derek's grabbed her by her throat and slammed her against the wall.

"Never let your guard down" Derek nearly barked, his eyes glowing blue. Sam managed to nod and Derek released her. Sam fell to the ground, gasping for breath. Derek took a step back, watching her. "We are done for today" Sam let herself fall onto the ground. Derek looked up and Sam frowned.

"What is it?"

"Someone's out there" Sam groaned and let her head hit the floor.

"Probably just my idiotic brother" Derek walked away and Sam slowly got up. Her back was screaming in pain and her head felt like it was leaking but just as she managed to sit up Derek walked in. She smiled, looking at her hands.

"I think I've got it." She stretched her hands and watched as claws appeared from her fingertips. Derek nodded.

"Then I guess you are ready for step two" Sam's head snapped towards him, her eyes showing fear.

Two and a half hours and they had made no progress except the occasional flash of yellow in Sam's eyes. She was now propped against a wall, wrapping a bandage around her arm were Derek had 'accidently' scratched her.

"Is there a reason why my eyes are yellow and yours blue?" She asked, looking up to meet Derek's eyes. Or at least trying to. He had been staring out of the window for the last ten minutes.

"Blue eyes mean that that wolf has killed someone, an innocent" A shudder ran down Sam's spine. She retracted her legs and hugged them. "Yellow means a wolf who has never killed someone or an Beta and red means-"

"An Alfa" Sam finished. Derek finally turned away from the window and nodded. Flashes from two nights back flashed before Sam's eyes. Two red eyes staring at her, right into her soul.

"Tomorrow you need to make sure you don't draw to much attention to yourself. Luckily you don't shift fast" He muttered and walked away. Sam watched him go before she holstered herself up and made her way out of the room. Her back seemed to have healed pretty well already and her head only felt heavy.

"See you tomorrow" She called back towards Derek before she walked out of the house.

Keeping her promise Sam was nearly invisible the next day, except for the moment when she came face to face with Alison while changing into her gym clothing. She smiled at her.

"Hey. You're Sam, right?" Sam nodded and sat down to tie her shoe.

"That's me" Alison sat down next to her, pulling on her own boot. She kept glancing at Sam. Sam send her a smile, sensing her thoughts. "Don't worry. I was sick the last couple of days." Alison looked up, met her eyes and smiled.

"Thank god" The two of them laughed and Sam stood up.

"I gotta go. Say hi to my brother for me" She grabbed her bag and walked out, ignoring Alison's confused look.

Training was getting easier day by day. At least it felt that way. Of course Derek kept her on edge but she could now easily shift, half shift or just flash her eyes.

Seeing the progress she had made Derek decided she was ready for her first test. Just a run through the park, a little race. That didn't go according to plan. First there was another howl, not from Derek or Sam and then there was another howl, from another wolf. Derek had immediately taken Sam with him, to get some real work done.

They had both shifted and followed the trail, only to stop short when they reached the school. Two other wolves had entered one of the school busses. Derek had ripped open one of the doors and charged inside. Sam followed but stopped when she noticed one of the wolves was Scott.

"Scott?" She asked, trough her talons. Scott turned to her, his eyes wild and charged at her. Seeing no other option she fought him off. She did so with ease, seeing she had more training. She slammed him down into one of the benches before she threw him out of the bus. Sam growled and watched as Scott scrambled away. She then turned to Derek to see him in the same position as her. He nodded at her and together they ran out.
