Chapter 6

Disclaimer: I don't own The Flash or any of its characters. I only own my OC's. :)

They both speed off, leaving Cisco and I to pack away all the equipment. He looks at me pleadingly.

"Lexi, can you...?" he nods his head towards all the equipment. I groan and, using my speed, pack all the stuff back into the STAR Labs van. Even though for him it all happens in less than a second, for me it feels like minutes still.

I stop using my speed and everything unfreezes around me.

"Thanks," Cisco says, taking in the now clean of equipment runway. We both hop into the STAR Labs van and head back towards STAR Labs

By the time we get there, Barry and Wally are already back.

"What's wrong?" I ask them as I take in Caitlin, Wally and Barry's equally worried expressions.

"Snart's back," Barry says. Beside me, Cisco gasps but I only look at them all in confusion.

"Who is Snart?" I ask nobody in particular.

"Leonard Snart, A.K.A Captain Cold. He stole a gun that Cisco made that can reach the temperature of absolute zero. A while ago he turned to the good side and sacrificed himself for the lives of many," Barry explains.

"Then why is he alive now?" I ask him.

"When the crisis happened, a lot of things in the past changed, it is possible that he's alive now," Caitlin says.

"Oh, and there's one other thing," Wally says, "He's a metahuman."

......//:\\......

"How is that even possible!" Cisco exclaims.

"What are his powers?" I ask out of curiosity.

"He can do exactly what his cold gun could do, except now he doesn't need the gun," Barry explains. Even though I know this is a very serious moment, I can't hold help but let out a yawn. Everyone looks at me.

"Sorry, it's been a very long day and it's getting pretty late," I explain. Caitlin nods in understanding.

"I'm surprised you haven't fallen asleep from exhaustion yet," Caitlin remarks.

"Come, let me find you a place to sleep, I'm sure you don't want to sleep in the med bay tonight," she says, leading me down the hall.

"One sec, let me just grab my stuff," I tell her, suddenly remembering my bag still in the storage room. I speed over there, grab it, and then speed back to Caitlin, clutching it to my chest.

"Where were you staying before?" she asks.

"In one of the storage rooms," I reply, sheepishly. She looks at me in question.

"For how long?"

"Only a few days."

"You should have come to us sooner!"

I probably should have, I think. But I remember how adamant mum always was about them not finding out about my existence. I wonder why?

We stop in front of a door and Caitlin opens it. Inside is a small bedroom with a single bed and bedside table against the wall to my left. To the right, is a door that I assume leads to a bathroom.

"I know it's a bit small but it should be OK short term," Caitlin says nervously.

"It's wonderful," I say, giving her a genuine smile. It is very similar to my room back home. Caitlin leaves me to get some rest and I sit down on the bed, taking my sketchbook and pencil out of my bag. I open my sketchbook to an empty page and begin sketching everyone I've met. Joe, Wally, Nash, Cisco, Caitlin and Sasha. That reminds me, I'm most probably fired from my job at Jitters, it's been a few days since I went there last. I finish drawing everyone and close my book, placing it and the pencil on the bedside table. I reach into my bag and take out the photo of mum and I next. I rub my thumb over our happy, smiling faces before placing it on the bedside table next to my sketchbook and pencil. I place my backpack on the ground and quickly get dressed into my pair of pj's, too tired to bother to shower, I'll do it tomorrow morning. I yawn again before turning into my side and closing my eyes, exhaustion taking over, causing me to instantly fall asleep.

......//:\\......

I wake up to knocking on my door. I sleepily open my eyes, blinking in a few times to clear them of sleepiness.

"Yes?" I call out to whoever is knocking at the door.

"Hey Lexi, I just wanted to let you know we think we might have a lead on Snart's location," Barry calls back to me through the door. I jump out of bed, wide awake.

"I'll meet everyone in the cortex in a minute," I call to him before speeding over to the shower, stripping off my clothes as I speed in and quickly wash my hair. I speed out and quickly dry myself and my hair by vibrating all the water out of it. I then quickly wash my face and brush my teeth before getting dressed into a blue t-shirt and soft jeans and speed out of the room, in the direction of the cortex. Everyone looks over at me at my speedy arrival.

"You weren't joking when you said you would only take a minute," Barry says. I smile and look around the room, noticing someone missing.

"Where's Wally?" I ask.

"He had to go back to the legends," Cisco explains. I look at him in confusion.

"They are superheros, kind of," Cisco tells me before I can ask anything.

"So, where do you think Snart is?" I ask them.

"We traced his cold signature with our satellites like we did with his cold gun and it appears as though he is currently at an abandoned hide out of his. An old warehouse downtown," Caitlin tells me. I nod.

"So, shall we go?" I ask Barry. He gives me a look.

"What do you mean 'we'?" he asks. I glare at him.

"Don't even think about going without me, I'm more than capable of holding my own in a fight," I argue.

"But you don't even have a suit!" Cisco exclaims. I shrug.

"It doesn't matter. According to earth, I don't exist, remember?"

Barry sighs, giving in.

"Fine, but you have to do exactly what I tell you to. You are only like what, 15?" Barry tells me.

"16," I correct.

"16 is still very young to be fighting metahumans," Caitlin points out.

"I'm more resilient than I look," I argue back.

"At least take this," Cisco says, handing me a small earpiece.

"It's a com," He explains. I put it in my ear. Barry then runs over to his suit by the wall and puts it on.

"Alright, lets go," He says, speeding off. I follow him as we speed through central city, weaving past cars and buildings, until we stop in front of an old warehouse on the outskirts of town.

"According to the cold signature, Snart's still inside," Cisco says through the com piece. Barry looks over at me.

"Are you ready?" he asks me.

"As ready as I'll ever be," I reply honestly as I take a deep breath. Then, we head inside.

Inside, it is a lot less dark than I thought it would be with fluorescent lights littered across the ceiling.

"Remember what I said, stick close behind me," Barry reminds me. I nod and swallow hard.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Barry Allen." A voice comes from behind us. We both whip around to see a young man, perhaps in his early 30s, with buzzed cut white hair and piercing blue eyes, standing less than 5 meters away from us. This must be Snart. I wonder how he knows Barry's identity.

"Always a pleasure, Snart," Barry says.

Snart's attention turns towards me, causing me to shift on my feet uneasily.

"Now, what do we have here?" Snart asks, looking closely at my face he gasps.

"Lexi?"
......//:\\......

"How do... How do you know my name?" I manage to gasp out. He quickly hides his second of shock and chuckles.
"Interesting, it seems you have forgotten me, Lexi. Oh well, shall we get straight to business then, Barry?" Snart asks, pretending he wasn't surprised to see me. Barry readies his stance next to me.
"What do you want, Snart? It isn't like you to just rob a bank and make away with only a few hundred dollars," Barry says. Snart smirks.
"You always were a smart one Barry but I'm not letting you know my plan just yet." Before Barry can say anything else, Snart, holds his hands out in front of him and shoots with all his might, a stream of cold ice coming from his hands. Everything slows around me as the stream of ice makes its way toward Barry. Barry uses his speed to start to move out of the way but I can see he is not going to be fast enough. With no other option, I speed in front of Barry, letting the ice hit me instead of him. I fall to the ground from the force of the blast, immense pain radiating from my stomach. I groan as my body starts to shake from the pain.
"Lexi!" Barry shouts, running over to my side.
"Guys, what do I do?" I hear him shout into the coms. My vision starts to go blurry.
"You have to vibrate her to heat her up, just like you do for yourself," I hear Cisco shout back before everything fades to black.

......//:\\......

The sound of soft whispers is the first thing I hear as I come to. I groan as I open my eyes, grasping my head.
"How are you feeling?" I look over to see Barry next to me.
"I'm fine, just a bit of a headache," I reply, sitting up in the med bay's bed.
"Why did you jump in front of me to shield me from the shot like that?" Barry asks. I shrug.
"I could see you weren't going to get out of the way in time. Besides, you would have done the same for me," I tell him. He smiles, nodding.
"Yeah, I would've."
I look over at the doorway to see Caitlin, Cisco and Nash enter.
"If you didn't have speed healing, I would be very worried right now," Caitlin tells me. I smile.
"It's a good thing I'm a meta then, isn't it?" I reply.
"So, how did Snart know you?" Cisco asks me.
"I have no idea, maybe I knew him before I ended up in the speedforce and lost all my memories?" I answer truthfully. Something about him did seem very familiar but I don't tell the others that.
"So, you really don't remember anything before ending up in the speed force?" Nash asks. I nod.
"I think I might know a way to lessen the seizures you are getting,"Caitlin suddenly says. We all look at her in question.
"I think, the more you use your powers, the more often you will get seizures. All you have to do is stop using your powers and we should reduce them significantly, therefore giving us more time to find a cure," Caitlin concludes.
"I can try Caitlin but it isn't going to be easy at all, my powers are a part of me," I tell her and she nods.
"I understand completely, just try your best to not use them when unnecessary," she tells me reassuringly. I yawn and Caitlin quickly herds everyone out of the room to let me rest.

Once Caitlin herds out of the med bay to let Lexi rest I pull Barry aside.
" I'm going to vibe Lexi," I tell him. He looks at me as though I'm crazy.
"why would you do that!" he exclaims, "do you still not trust her?"
I shake my head.
"No, that's not it at all. I'm just thinking maybe I can see some of her past that she can't remember,"I explain to him. He looks deep in thought for a second before he slowly nods his head.
" That doesn't actually sound like a bad idea. Sure, you can do it, on one condition, " He says, accepting it quicker than I thought he would.
" What is it? "I ask him.
" Ask for her permission first."

I wake up to light shining into the med bay from the cortex. I sit up cautiously and am surprised to find myself feeling much better. I swing my legs over the side of the bed and walk into the cortex to find it empty. I turn on one of the computers and see the time reads 10.27. Where is everyone? Barry is usually at his job this time of day but Cisco and Caitlin do work here and Nash can't exactly leave STAR labs with his earth-1 doppelganger being a known murderer and presumably dead. I think I have an idea as to where they might be. I'm about to speed down the hallway to the speed lab when I remember what Caitlin said about using my powers so I walk instead. I slowly make my way into the speed lab to see Caitlin, Cisco and Nash all standing around the computers. I look around to see a red streak running around the speed lab. I wonder why Barry isn't at his job?
"What are you guys doing in here?" I ask them. They all turn to face me.
"Lexi, how are you feeling?" Catlin asks, rushing up to me.
"I'm fine," I reassure her. Barry stops running as he notices my presence and runs up next to me.
"Hey Lexi," Barry greets me.
"Hey, Barry. Aren't you supposed to be at work?" I ask him.
"Nope, Captain Singh gave me the day off," he says with a grin. Cisco walks up to me.
"Heyy Lexi..." he starts. I give him a look.
"What do you want, Cisco?" I ask him, knowing that tone of voice. He looks at me nervously.
"So, i'm a meta-human too, part of my power is to get these vibes," he explains to me.
"That's cool," I tell him. I motion with my hand for him to continue.
"Can I vibe you?" he rushes out. I furrow my forehead in confusion.
"Why?" I ask him.
"He thinks maybe he can vibe your past that you can't remember," Barry explains. I think over it for a second.
"Ok," I agree.
"So how exactly does it work?" I ask him.
"All you have to do is hold out your hand," he instructs me. I hold out my hand towards him and he grabs onto it. He suddenly gasps and his eyes cloud over causing me to nearly jump in fright.
"What's happening to him?" I ask the others.
"Don't worry, he's just vibing you," Caitlin explains. His eyes go back to normal and he looks around.
"What did you see," Cailtin asks him gently.
