Chapter 26

Disclaimer: I don't own The Flash or any of its characters. I only own my OC's. :)

We waited for about 20 minutes in silence before Barry's speed finally comes back.
"We should take them to the pipeline, you never know what trouble they might cause in Iron Heights," I try to convince Barry. He nods.
"Yeah that's a good idea. You take Max and I'll take Daniel," he says. I grab Max who is starting to regain consciousness and speed him all the way back to S.T.A.R Labs and into the pipeline in an empty cell. Once I'm done with that, I change into a emerald green t-shirt of mine, very similar in colour to my suit, and a pair of jean shorts before speeding into the cortex.
"So, what was that?" Barry asks me as I take my usual place in the edge of the table while everyone either stands or is sitting in one of the chairs.
I shrug.
"It's never happened before and I haven't touched any force field metas," I explain.
"Maybe you bumped into one while getting drinks from Jitters?" Iris guesses. I shrug, I do go to Jitters a lot but I always make sure not to come into physical contact with anyone.
Caitlin walks into the room and clears her throat, catching all of our attention.
"Lexi, can I quickly speak to you in the med Bay?" she asks.
"Sure," I tell her, following her into the med bay. She closes the door behind us.
"Is this about the nose bleed I got? Because…" I start but she cuts me off.
"No, it's not about that, although I would like to discuss that later. After what happened this afternoon I decided to do some more tests on samples of your blood that I have and I found something really strange. You know how you have dark matter in your system? Well, you don't have the metahuman gene," she explains. I gape at her.
" Does that mean…? "I start.
She nods.
"The particle accelerator didn't turn you into a metahuman. I think you were born like this." I stare at her in shock, not moving an inch. There is only two people that know the truth.
"I'm sorry Caitlin, I have to go. I'll be back soon," I tell her before speeding away. I rum all the way to Black Hole headquarters and grab Lisa and Leonard from their dorms, stopping with them in the speed lab.
"Did you know?" I demand. They both look at each other.
"So you found out?" Leonard asks.
"That I didn't become a metahuman because of the particle accelerator? Yes. Now explain," I says. Leonard points to the chairs in the corner.
"You might want to take a seat, this is going to take a while."

"A few years after you came to live with us, when you were about five or six years old, you started showing these strange abilities. You could form these blue force fields around yourself and run as fast as, lightning among other things. We did some research and it turns out your parents, David and Emily Snart, who were both brilliant scientists, had been experimenting on you. You had a disease that had never been heard of before. By their calculations, you only had a few months to live. So they did experiments on you. When they gave you your powers, they thought it had worked, it showed all signs that you were going to be fine."

"A few days before the particle accelerator explosion though, you started getting major seizures, migraines and nose bleeds. We thought you weren't going to make it. So, when the particle accelerator exploded, we sent you into the speed force. It was written in your parents journals how to. We also wiped all your memories. The next time we saw you was that day in the warehouse next to The Flash," Leonard explains.
"So, you knew this whole time and didn't tell me?" I exclaim.
"It's not like that, we did it for your own safety," Lisa says. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.
"What do you mean?" I ask. Leonard sighs.
"If Mrs. McCulloch found out she would immediately contact General Eiling who would have taken you and experimented on you. We couldn't risk it," Leonard explains. I open my mouth to speak but my phone starts to buzz. I look down at it.
"I'm sorry guys, I have to go. I'll see you around?" I ask. They both nod and I speed out and back to S.T.A.R Labs.

I speed straight into the speed lab where Aaron is waiting.
"Alright, so how are we going to do this?" Aaron asks me.
"OK, so first of all we have to start a distraction. I was thinking we somehow cut all the power to the pipeline. As all the prisoners try to escape, all I have to do is grab Daniel and speed him to Black Hole," I lay out my plan in one breath. Aaron nods.
" Now would be the best time, with it getting dark, Cisco and Caitlin will have left for the night," Aaron says.
" OK, let's do this," I tell him before speeding out of the room. Aaron flys after me and we quickly get to the entrance of the pipeline. Aaron goes over to one of the panels on the wall and opens it, revealing a bunch of wires.
" Which one do we cut?" I ask him. He quickly goes through the wires till he comes across a red one.
"This one," he says, "But we shouldn't cut it otherwise it will look suspicious and be nearly impossible to fix."
"OK, what if we just unconnect it from the power source?" I ask him, pointing to the small box all the wires are commented to. Aaron grabs the red wire and firmly tugs it. It simply pops out of the power box.
"That'll work," Aaron says as the lights all go off. The sound of an alarm comes from the cortex.
"Come on, we have to do this quickly before the others get here," I tell him. He opens the door to the pipeline and I speed inside, looking for the cell that holds Daniel. As I run I see a whole bunch of metas starting to figure out that they can now escape. I have to go faster. I push myself even faster and I finally come to his cell. I push open the door, chuck metahuman cuffs on him, and quickly speed him out of S.T.A.R Labs. I go all the way to Black Hole Headquarters and into Mrs. McCulloch's office.
"Here he is," I tell her. She grins.
"Thank you Lexi, you may go now." I turn around without further thought and speed back to S.T.A.R Labs which is absolute chaos. Barry has finally arrived and is trying to speed everyone back into their cells while Aaron is grabbing them and putting meta cuffs on them along with Dylan, Kyra and Jax.
I grab a meta and zoom her back into her cell. Once there is no more metas left I run back to the cortex where everyone is now situated.
"What happened?" I ask, pretending to be confused.
"Somehow the power turned off for a minute resulting in all the metas escaping," Barry explains. All of a sudden a breach opens and Cisco and Killer Frost jump through. Cisco immediately jumps into a fighting stance before looking around.
"And we're too late, aren't we?" he asks. We all nod.
"So, what exactly happened?" Cisco asks, walking over to the computers and typing in a bunch of code or something.
"Somehow the power turned off for a minute and all the metahumans escaped," Barry explains. Cisco furrows his eyebrows in confusion.
"It says here that there was no reason for the power to turn off at all. Everything is perfectly fine," Cisco says.
"So do you think someone did this purposely?" Kyra asks. Cisco nods.
"But who would turn off the power, let all the metas escape then turn it back on?" Dylan asks. Cisco types in some more things into the computer.
"Oh no, no, no, no, this is really bad," Cisco exclaims suddenly.
"What?" Killer Frost asks.
"All the metas are accounted for, except for one. Daniel Carter," Cisco explains. Everyone's eyes widen.
"Daniel Carter? That metahuman that you guys fought yesterday?" Jax asks. Barry nods.
"He can't have gotten very far," Barry says before speeding out of the room. About 8 seconds later he speeds back in, out of breath.
"I searched the whole city, he isn't anywhere," Barry says.
"How could he have gotten that far?" Killer Frost asks.
"Only if a speedster sped him away," Barry says. Everyone looks at me.
